A Timeless Haven in Galle – Tamarind Hill||Tamarind Hill is a place I know I will keep returning to every time I am in Sri Lanka. This is a promise. Nestled on the edge of a quiet village in Galle, this two-hundred-year-old Dutch bungalow feels like a living poem in stone and silence. Steeped in history and wrapped in old-world charm, the property feels ethereal, suspended in time. Serene, secluded, and impossibly beautiful, it is the kind of place where you could lose yourself for weeks, well, I could for months.||Keshav and his team redefine hospitality. Their warmth is genuine, their attention to detail remarkable, the kind that makes you feel less like a guest and more like an old friend returning home. Every single member of that team deserves a raise.||I was travelling solo through Sri Lanka when I booked Tamarind Hill. Upon arrival, I discovered that I was the only guest, a rare lull for a property otherwise known for its exquisite food, as they were mending a gas leak that week. Now most solo female travellers might hesitate, and understandably so, but something about Keshav and his team instantly put me at ease. My instincts said I was safe, and they were right. For three quiet days, before the weekend brought a full house, I was the lone guest in this grand old bungalow, yet never once did I feel alone.||As a woman, you learn to trust your instincts about people and energies, and I am grateful that my intuition led me here. The kindness and integrity of the team at Tamarind Hill turned what could have been a daunting experience into one of the most peaceful and grounding stays of my travels. And I am full of gratitude that the team at Tamarin Hill was an eminent part of my Lanka journey.||The colonial style property in itself is a masterpiece. The suites upstairs, the rooms downstairs, the open courtyard, each space whispering stories of another era. The sounds of birds and a stillness that invites words to flow. A place that nourishes both solitude and imagination. And from what I hear your tummy and your soul.|I shall return for the food, for the timeless charm, and for the feeling of being so deeply cared for. I am, certainly, not done.||My apologies for the delayed review, Keshav and team. Perhaps it is only fitting, because Tamarind Hill is a place that lingers.
