Tambo Del Arriero

Loved this hotel, nicely located and very friendly staff. The room was really nice and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent especially the coffee which was the best we had at a hotel breakfast in Peru. Hats of to the member of the staff that coincidentally was studying Dutch. One point of improvement: the duvet on the bed is very thick so for us it was either too cold or too hot during the night.

This is a lovely, quiet hotel. The breakfast was fantastic. The staff are also lovely. I became sick on our last night there. While they were unable to extend our stay another night, they let us use the room until noon so we could find another hotel. The hotel is very clean and safe.||There are a couple of reasons why I cannot give this hotel 5 circles. The hotel has VERY thick walls which are great for quietness, but not so great for wi-fi or phone signals. If you needed internet, you had to leave the room, which is a tad inconvenient. Also, the room we stayed in was a triple, with our adult daughter. There is no privacy for the shower. Meaning, unless we all wanted to see one another bathe, you had to leave the room, so the bather could shower in private. Having either a shower curtain or a curtain over the bathroom doorway would have been a very helpful thing. There are no restaurants nearby and Cusco is a giant hill.

This hotel is in a great location in the historical district of Cusco - easy walk to lots of nearby restaurants and easy pick up and drop off for tours. Breakfast was included with our booking and it was very good. The beds are ok - not the best but still a good night's rest. We had a spacious family room with 3 beds and everything was very clean. The only downside is that the bathroom had a very musty smell but easily isolated by closing the door.

Amazing hotel with very friendly staff. The hotel is very unique, and quint and we loved the Courtyard. We stayed in a Junior Suite which was very clean and comfortable with plenty of room. Breakfast met our needs and the staff worked very hard to keep all the guests happy. The Hotel is a short walk from the Plaza de Armas and there was a festival going on during our stay which made the stay even more special.

Amazing location & place to stay in Cusco. Very close to the main Cusco square & markets. The whole environment was nice & cozy with typical traditional look & all. At reception the staff are super helpful, specially Karel. Our tours started quite early so the staff made sure that we got something to carry as breakfast. Breakfast was amazing with good choice of juices & freshly made omelets. Rooms are reasonably good, with only downside of not having a door at toilet & bathroom. Overall a good stay.

We actually stayed with them 3 times during the course of our trip - before and after our Salkantay trek, and then after our flight home was cancelled in the middle of the night and they were able to squeeze us in for another couple nights. They were knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating and super helpful. Breakfast included and each of the three rooms were great!

This hotel is a gem! Clean and comfortable with an exceptional staff! It is easy walking distance to the sites of Cusco, yet quiet at night. The staff were so helpful with any questions I had. Breakfast included in their cute dining room. I highly recommend this hotel!

We loved our stay here. The hotel looks like an art gallery with beautiful furnishings and a tranquil courtyard where you can sit and enjoy free tea. Our room was lovely, spacious and had adequate heating (this is of the utmost importance if you're visiting Cusco in winter as the temperature plummets overnight). Others have mentioned the lack of a shower curtain in the bathroom which results in wet floors but it's a minor niggle. The service was exceptional - a special shoutout to the young server/barista at breakfast who made us the best coffee we had in our two-week trip to South America (he could do with some assistance though especially when it gets busy). We were also given a free airport transfer by virtue of booking our room directly with the hotel. Whilst the hotel is quite close to the main square and restaurants, it is a bit of an uphill trek to get there. You'll definitely be huffing and puffing on your first couple of days in Cusco. All in all, I highly recommend Tambo del Arriero if you like boutique hotels and are seeking a more unique hotel experience
