We stopped here by chance for aperitivi, we then realized this was a place recommended to us by a friend. I tried the Ferrari spritz as I don't like Aperol, yes, I liked it. We decided to come back for dinner. My wife said the lasagna was very good, and my tagliatelle with mushrooms was nice, though I think I should have gone for the traditional ragu. Next time I will. The service was polite and efficient.

Bought some 36months old parmigiano. Enployee was really helpfull and advised me on the storage, with a cloth after opening.

Grocery branch: Quite expensive The San dianiele Parma ham is ok only The cutatello di zibello is still abit salty, the aroma is complex and there's this nice almost slightly floral aroma too. Pricey for what it was, but the high quality is quite apparent

The energy of the deli pulls you in, but it’s the food that makes you stay. Without a doubt, the best eggplant parm any of us have ever eaten—melty, tender, and full of rich, comforting flavor. The lasagne alla bolognese was also excellent, layered with fresh pasta, slow-cooked ragù, and a creamy béchamel that made every bite feel like pure comfort. Between the buzzing deli atmosphere and the quality of the food, Tamburini is an essential stop in Bologna.

Great find! Very satisfied with fresh food and delicious drinks. Food was good value for quantity. The service was very friendly and we were seated quickly. Would recommend

I don’t usually write reviews, but what happened at Tamburini in Bologna deserves to be shared so others can avoid wasting their time and energy. This was, without a doubt, one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve ever had — not just in Bologna, but anywhere. The hospitality was appalling. The staff were rude, dismissive, and completely uninterested in providing even the most basic service. We were seated, ignored for an extended period of time, and then quite literally never served the food. No explanation, no apology, just pure arrogance and neglect. Restaurants exist to serve people — Tamburini acts like they’re doing you a favor by letting you sit there and be ignored. If you’re in Bologna, avoid this place at all costs. There is absolutely nothing worth experiencing here — neither the service, nor the atmosphere. An utter embarrassment to Italian hospitality.

My wife and I went here for some take away food. We sat at the tables outside and it started to rain. My wife asked the waiter at the "same" venue next door could we go under the canopy. Sure, no problem. We ordered two wines from the waiter. Next thing, the manager/owner or whatever the hell he was made us move... after buying the wine!!!! That is not good service. And further to this, we would've came back to the restaurant but we were just trying the takeaway first. Get better at manners and your food ain't that great. Ciao.

Yelp
Definitely a good place to get quality deli meats and cheeses. The price tag is higher than most other places but the quality is good and worth a try.

Yelp
Food was quite good. Especially loved the lasagne, it was excellent. Service was good and it's a nice respite from the crowds.

Yelp
This is a great specialty food and cheese shop along the street full of food shops and vendors. We got some nice aged DOP balsamic here at a reasonable price - it's surprising how everywhere else outside of Modena seems to have only IGP. The shop has a lot of cheese, charcuterie, pastas, and jarred sauces / goodies, and their selection was better than most other places.

Yelp
Old-school - and excellent! - salumeria in centro. The salumerie near piazza maggiore have been around for a _while_, and an increasing number of them now offer seating - indoor and outdoor - to support the folks who want to hang out and work their way through mortadella, culatello, prosciutto, and the like. Tamburini is one of the older ones around, and it shows (tables, chairs, etc.). Its also one of the nicer ones around - especially if you go back a few times. The switch from "tourist" to "regular" is, seemingly, at visit no. 2. Anyhow, go there, get some wine, get some salumi (and be adventurous)...

Yelp
A solid place to get meats, cheeses, prepared foods and uncooked pasta in the center of Bologna. I opted for some take-away traditional Lasagna al Ragu to take back to the hotel. It was okay, but certainly with no way to heat it in the hotel, it would have been better freshly prepared. Was the only thing I tried.

Yelp
If you want to take a break on dining out, then I would suggest this great deli and butcher. Also a great place to go for takeaway.

Yelp
If you are looking for a meat and cheese plate + a glass of wine, THIS is your place! Stopped here for a quick bite around 5pm on a Thursday. We were able get a seat outside, though seating is very limited. Service is slow, but nothing outrageous. We ordered a glass of lambrusco sourced from the surrounding region. Good to try, but not my favorite. We also ordered a cheese plate which is served with bread. My favorite was the soft cheese with figs, a Bologna classic. Very good! If I find myself in Bologna again, I will definitely return.

Yelp
The food. The tradition. The history. In a gastronomic center like Bologna, you must go to this temple of a deli + cafe. Upon entering A.F.T, you can sense their knowledge of Italian food. On the street level, it looks very much like a food emporium. There's the cold meat section. There's the prepared food section. There's the cheese counter. OMG, I died and went to foodie heaven :) Aside from getting food to take away, during the daytime/lunch hours, you can get food from a hot buffet to eat in their dining area within the shop. Isn't that great! You can try Bolognese food prepared by Bolognese people. And really that is the best way to experience cuisine in Bologna. If you're in a rush and can't sit down in a proper restaurant, this is an excellent alternative. The quality of the food is high. The ambiance is delightful - from a foodie perspective since I like staring at food displayed. The experience is priceless.

Yelp
Yesterday I stopped at Tamburini with my gf for an easy lunch. Once seated, we ordered a beautiful board of salumi 10€ (mortadella, prosciutto di parma, prosciutto cotto and salami) and cheese (soft, parmesan and pecorino cheese). We also tried the famous tigelle, a kind of warm flat bread that combines greatly with those ingredients. We then continued with a delicious traditional lasagna, 8€, (the dough is made with spinach) and tortellini al ragù, 8€. Both meals were good without being memorable though. We were, however, happily surprised by the local red wine we were advised, a very tasteful Merlot, 5€ each. Overall, our experience at Tamburini was good thanks to the quality of the products used and the central location. Bear in mind, however, that due to its popularity, the place is very crowded so be prepared to queue for around 30 min during the weekend.

Yelp
Cafeteria-style restaurant just off the "Mercato di Mezzo" in the heart of Bologna. You can find it by guiding yourself toward the two tallest towers in town - Torri Asinelli e Garisenda. I selected a half order of the seafood salad, which was very fresh and flavorful, with octopus, squid, shrimp, and who knows what else. I also had a half serving of my very first authentic tortellini bolognese. Decent although I had many tastier versions elsewhere before I left town a few days later. The restaurant also looked like they made very nice charcuterie plates, which I might have tried if we'd gone back. See my uploaded photos for a snapshot of each dish. Solid place to grab lunch, particularly after a stroll through the market, and before heading to Gilberto across the street for some chocolately sweets for dessert, or to Cafe Luglio around the corner for a quick standing espresso.

Yelp
We stopped by to get some mortadella on the go and loved the store. There is a huge selection of cold cuts, mouthwatering fresh pasta dishes and anything that can satisfy the most difficult palate. The mortadella tasted divine.

Yelp
Excellent cold cuts & cheeses (and probably wine too) for a reasonable price. In the restaurant section (there is also a self-service section) you can choose from a large number of tagliere options, each with different kinds of meats & cheeses. They also serve typical primi of Bologna such as lasagna al ragù, tortellini, tortelloni. (The photo is the tagliere with prosciutto crudo & burrata, costs €10) A must when in Bologna!

Yelp
Came here years ago on my first trip to Bologna. Amazing deli full of hams, cheeses and prepared foods. You can even be served by a hot bar and sit down for lunch. Stopped in again after 12+ years and was still impressed.

Yelp
Ham, Mortadella, cheese, filled pasta, heaven in the centre of Bologna. A must if you pass by here. PS all is authentic here, including staff, who may have bad or good days. Just don't be put off by it and focus on the food

Yelp
I got some great meats and cheeses here. Lots of tourists there when I was there. They were very helpful and knowledgable and had great selection.

Yelp
We enjoyed our wine and cheese, and the man who served us (star tattooed behind ear) was very nice! However, his coworkers did not seem so happy, not smiling or saying hello. Would not go again, I think there are better places.

Yelp
Great lunch place on the go and although a bit pricier than what's around is worth a stop in. All the beautiful colourful pasta is in the window to ogle at but the ready made lunch choices are yummy and it's a charming regular find for Bologna.

Yelp
locale sopravvalutato ma sempre accogliente! più per turisti che per bolognesi

Alan R.

Yelp
Fresh, delicious food in a food market/lunch cafeteria. As far as I know, we were the only tourists. Great lunch stop when we needed a break and it did not break the bank. Staff very accommodating, when I went back for another pasta, they let me jump the long line at the cashier. The spinach ravioli/kreplach was unreal!
