Tampa International Airport truly exceeded my expectations. it’s incredibly well-organized and efficient. The signage is clear, making it easy to navigate between terminals. What stood out the most was how clean and well-maintained the airport is—from the floors to the restrooms, which were spotless and plentiful. There are also plenty of dining and shopping options, offering everything from quick snacks to sit-down meals. Security and baggage claim were both handled smoothly, and the staff was courteous and helpful throughout. Whether you’re arriving, departing, or connecting, Tampa International makes the experience comfortable and stress-free. Highly impressed and would definitely prefer flying through here again!

Google
This facility offers a highly efficient travel experience. American Airlines' streamlined processes were exemplary. Furthermore, TSA agents provided consistently professional and courteous security services. The terminals were impeccably clean and well-maintained. Finally, the train system proved to be a convenient mode of transportation.

Google
Best airport in the US! Easy access, parking designed well. Nice shops & restaurants. The express drop off areas are very functional for those not checking in bags. Critically important to say hi to Phoebe before heading to your gate.

Google
It was a nice airport. It had good facilities and it is large and spacious and I was impressed looking at the departures board and they serve more airlines and destinations than I assumed. I flew in from Chicago Midway on March 22, 2025 and flew back to Chicago Midway on March 26. Going through TSA on 3/26/25 was great, they are test running this new program so nothing had to come out of the bags or anything which made for a pleasant experience and our gate was only about 20 steps from the TSA checkpoint. The food options aren’t great, and the staff wasn’t too terribly friendly but it was overall a nice experience and definitely an airport I’d consider flying into again if the price is right (but I was visiting Orlando so next time I will probably prefer to fly into Orlando, the traffic was horrible getting from Orlando to Tampa)

Google
Easy to navigate, great airport whether you're flying or picking up/dropping off. I've always had to use the shuttle/train to access my gate, but it's quick and runs constantly. There's plenty of seating at the gates, signage is clear, and it's always been clean. For the size of TPA, it doesn't feel rundown or confusing like so many older and similar sized airports. They also have the best cell phone lot I've ever had to use when waiting for someone at the airport. Parking is abundant, they have large, clean restrooms in the lot and a large flight board. Rental car return is fairly simple and navigating to the garage is clearly marked. Depending on the way you approach the garage, it's easy to miss the turn though.

Google
One of the easiest airports to get around in … shuttles to main terminal , gates and rental car … we got in early and TSA was a breeze ! All the employees were friendly and very professional. 30 min from the beaches .. 10 min from the Bucs stadium and there’s a huge mall minutes from TPA as well . Many dining options … cool decor and shops !

Google
Tampa International Airport is considered one of the best mid-sized airports in the U.S., thanks to its convenience, cleanliness, and friendly atmosphere. Whether you’re a frequent flyer or vacationer, it’s an stress-free and pleasant airport experience overall.

Google
Came in for a vball tournament. Decent airport. Have to take a short tram from your plane to baggage claim. If you are looking for a decent non fast food meal would recommend eating at in the main part of the airport. Food inside the terminals is mostly fast food. The big flamingo when you walk into the main entrance is good for a family pic. Don't forget your suntan lotion!

Yelp
No issues with the airport. The airport is clean. Plenty of options to grab a bite to eat. TSA got me through security. Plenty of chargers around for devices. Winner.

Yelp
Was in Tampa Airport yesterday for a quick same-day business trip from LGA/New York. I haven't been back here since 2015, wow. It has been that long. Anyway, the airport is pretty straightforward. I loved that both our incoming & outgoing flights via Delta were timely and time and gate management seems to be done well. There's an airport train with just one stop so don't think you need to stay if unsure, get off immediately. I didn't have a bag so went straight to the Ride Share area and there was a Red and a Blue pick up area which felt easy to navigate. TSA Precheck on a Thursday afternoon was quick, only spent 5 mins in line but had to remove my boots for something causing it to alarm, just added time but I was in no rush and respect the process. Since the Delta Sky Club reviews didn't seem inviting enough, I just stayed somewhere by the workzone area with my Starbucks Pistachio Latte in hand. Yep there's a trusty Starbucks near the gates. Bathrooms seem to be maintained well for the most part.

Yelp
Ok this airport is so confusing. I have zero problem with the airport though. My issue with American Airline ruined my experience there though. The place is like a maze, go upstairs to go downstairs to get out. Just confusing. I have to go back hopefully it will easier.

Yelp
Tampa International Airport is... fine. One good perk is that rideshare services like Uber pick you up right at baggage claim, which is super convenient. On the downside, the tram system connecting to each terminal can be a bit annoying and feels like an unnecessary extra step. Overall, TPA is functional and gets the job done, but like most airports, it doesn't inspire much enthusiasm from me.
google avatar

Sy L.

Yelp
Huge airport. I had to take 2 trains to get the car rental. Very clean. Departure was really easy. Had to take a train from baggage claim and as soon as we got off the train I entered right into tsa checkpoint.
google avatar

Yelp
What a nice airport! Clean compared to other airports. Easy to navigate. Free WiFi. Comfortable seating. Fast check-in. Fast TSA security. Close to cruise port for you cruisers. Enjoy!

Yelp
I travel frequently and Tampa International is one of my favorite airports to travel to-and-from. It's well laid out, which makes it very easy to find baggage claim and gates. The rental cars are located near the airport, which makes it very easy to arrive and exit the airport, via the connecting tram. I highly recommend this airport.
google avatar

Yelp
Tampa is a great airport experience. The TSA is quick and the bathrooms are mostly clean. If you fly a lot those are two things greatly appreciated.

Yelp
Tampa International Airport (TPA) is easily one of my favorites! Every flight I've taken out of here has been so smooth, from parking or drop-off to check-in and breezing through TSA. The lines move quickly, and I love how TPA keeps innovating, like using tech to scan your boarding pass and guide you seamlessly to your terminal and the monorail. The cleanliness is top-notch, and there's always a spot open to grab a quick bite, snack, or water. (Yes, I'm that person that needs to get a water for the flight to stay hydrated). And let's not forget Phoebe, the iconic pink flamingo, she always makes me smile! Keep up the great work, TPA!

Yelp
I have traveled through many airports during the years but I was not only disappointed, but also ashamed as a human being and American for the things that transpired through my journey through Tampa International Airport. First, lets discuss the architectural layout with metal and glass that dazzles the eyes upon first entering from your perspective concourse. Very Florida chic with complementing colors, but the ability to move around the airport has a lot to be desired. For instance, I tried to access the Delta Sky Lounge for a long layover before the flight only to be denied due to the flight not originating with Delta that day regardless if you have lounge access privileges. (You have to scan your boarding passes through an electronic gate to access a tram that goes to each of the Concourses.) I talked with the Information desk and they informed me that due to the current lounge capacity and Delta's protocol at this specific airport is the reason for the denial and stated that it might change once that have more space and that it was a common question by travelers. Second, lack of food option and quality of foods. Third and the reason for the opening statement, I will not go into to specifics, but an American woman was entering the US and did not follow Customs protocol and did something that was very much frowned upon by another country. Well, from the flight to arrival, the incident(situation) was repeated by passengers, but this is where I would hold Tampa International Airport management with some responsibilities because their employees were outright retelling the incident loud and laughing thinking that some people do not understand Spanish and German language. When I say it was sooo bad, I mean that literally! Eating at P.F. Chang, German flight attendants and crew were blatantly stereotyping Americans and talking down on people that they did not even know. I get it, Freedom of Speech and entitlement to opinions, but if you are in a professional flight attendant/pilot uniform, airline uniform then you are a representative of your perspective companies and should conduct yourself as such. Did not make me so much upset, but it hurt my heart as a human with so many struggles in the world that everyone goes through daily. Just my two cents.

Yelp
Way cleaner than the detroit airport that I came from & I honestly have no complaints at all

Yelp
Airport is well laid out allowing for ease in travel. Not too crowded on a Sunday afternoon, but getting here on the 4 was a nightmare. Some of the airport personnel working the TSA line were curt. I'm sure they're frustrated sounding with speaking like a broken record telling people what they need to remove and place on the trays. Great food and shopping at this airport.
google avatar

Yelp
First time flying into TPA since it was my birthday and we were heading out to Streamsong golf resort. Arrived and our baggage claim was fairly easy with no issues on grabbing my golf bag and getting to the car rental. Airport was bright, clean and spacious offering what appeared to be a few eateries and bar options while waiting to depart. This airport I think makes #52 on my list of airports traveled.

Yelp
TIA is easy to navigate and always clean inside and out. The help desk staff are always smiling and professional. The airport is easy to get in and out of when driving. You can actually just walk around this airport and it's almost like being in a mall there is so much to see and do. If you're fortunate few check out the USO it is just as good if not better than most airline's club lounges.
google avatar

Ashley T.

Yelp
Flew into TIA on a Friday evening and must say that getting off the plane, out the gate, and to my bags was a quick process. There's plenty of signage to help travelers navigate through that airport and this place was sooooo clean which I appreciated. I also took a flight out from TIA and the experience going through TSA was quick and seamless. I left on Sunday evening and there weren't a ton of people so I made it in the airport and through security in about 10 mins. I liked that once I arrived at my gate there was a seating area with "co-working" space so I was able to sit away and read in a little desk nook while I waited on my flight. The food choices were decent but not as plentiful as some airports I've made my way through. All in all a pleasant experience.

Yelp
This review is from our last trip to Tampa before the hurricane. It's a great airport, very systematic and easy to follow. It's also a beautiful and very clean airport. The security check when we departed back to NY was smooth. There are a few nice restaurants for everybody, so you don't go hungry while waiting for your flight. Getting an Uber from the airport was easy too. Nice airport! Hope Tampa is ok and will recover from the hurricane soon.
google avatar

Gail B.

Yelp
This is a great airport. There are lots of stores and restaurants. The train will take passengers to the main terminal. Phoebe, the giant flamingo is in the main terminal, near Wendy's. If you need to rent a cart to transport your luggage, it is $5. The train also takes passengers to economy parking and car rental companies. We watched You Tube videos about the airport before we arrived.
google avatar

Hassan W.

Yelp
The initial process was smooth. The ladies at the check-in counter were sweet and professional. The rail system is always on point. Today, TPA's TSA was a problem for me directly; there has times where I saw them be rude to others, but I guess today was my turn lol. Outside of that my experience was not too bad.
google avatar

Alan K.

Yelp
I am not sure how I feel about this airport. I think if you go to this airport, you have to be strategic about how you eat and relax. There are only two lounges at this airport (American's Admiral Lounge and Delta's Sky Lounge), not including the USO lounges. I also found it that because this is a smaller airport, you can't check in your bag more than 4 hours in advance. Find another place to store your bags if you are going to be at this airport early. The food choices are limited once you past security. However, even before you embark to security, you have to scan your boarding pass to get to the terminal via tram. I tried to go to Columbia, a restaurant out of Terminal E. However, your boarding pass will only allow you to go to your gate. My gate was definitely not at Terminal E. I recommend eating at the main terminal before you head to your gate. There is more variety at the main terminal. Driving to the airport is a hot mess. The roads weave in many different directions to the point where it made my Lyft driver very confused.

Kylie F.

Yelp
I will never fly into this airport again. I needed help after my incoming flight landed on Friday and ended up with a concierge helping me only after I had a fucking panic attack because everyone else i asked was really hostile and straight up rude. Just had the same experience trying to get to my terminal for my flight. Absolutely terrible. The woman working the E checkpoint this morning is a HUGE cunt. 0/10.

Farah A.

Yelp
Very impressed by the Tampa International Airport! I arrived here via American Airlines and everything was smooth and comfortable to roam around. I loved how clean it was and the open format made it seem nice and airy. At a glance, I noticed they had a bunch of different options to choose from when it comes to food, and hanging out. Signage was easy to ready and help direct you to Uber/lyft pick up spots, baggage claim etc. Highly recommended!
google avatar

Grace A.

Yelp
TPA is an efficient, and pleasant airport. It balances convenience with comfort, and its modern amenities enhance the overall travel experience. Friendly staff to help you navigate the trams. Good food court and clean bathrooms.
google avatar

Cheryl N.

Yelp
I have never been to any airport that is so peaceful n it feels so safe. We got thrown out of the ship at 8am n my flight is not till 7:40pm ouch! It sucks but fortunately this airport has such a big food court, so many real restaurants not fast food. I can't wait to dine at Columbia Cuban restaurant unfortunately I'd have to check in TSA 1st as it is located near the gate. LAX has very few seats so you'd be out of luck if you have to hobo for 6,7 hours , Tampa international airport has comfortable chairs n couches all over the place! The bathrooms are super clean. The city is beautiful but as a big city girl I'll be bored to death here, it lacks the vibrancy of Miami n Fort Lauderdale, but if you don't have a lot of dinero, come to Tampa. Great airport, free trolleys, affordable housing if you don't mind sinkholes! lol you might wake up n found out you're in middle earth looking for hobbit lol

Yelp
This Airport is always clean and well kept. It is easy to get around and get to your flight.

Yelp
I love our airport. I'm not a huge traveler, but I've been to at least a couple dozen US airports and the positive buzz for TPA is not exaggerated. The layout is fantastic & well-planned, TSA is quick & friendly (almost always!), bathrooms are large & very clean, and the food/bev choices are tasty & plentiful. A few tips: - bring an empty water bottle to fill up at a water station when you get to your airside. - Use the express drop-off if you can (no checked bags). - Prepay online for long-term parking (the garage shared with the car rental companies)... the 10% savings adds up over a few days. As someone who lives pretty close to the airport, Lyft with tip one way is about the cost of parking for two days so of course I want to save a little & also not have a wait or hassle for my early morning flight out or late arrival home (especially when the flight is delayed). - The short-term garage at the main terminal has free parking for less than an hour. The roof is a great spot to watch sunsets, rocket launches from the east coast, and fireworks on July 4th or NYE. I also like that they can read & charge my SunPass if I'm parked longer. - The cell phone waiting lot has a couple of giant screens displaying flight arrivals. There are also public bathrooms here, plus plenty of parking. - The post office! I understand this branch to be the hub for at least Hillsborough & Pinellas counties. What this means to me is that my mail travels less, and I hope slightly faster. Since I pass the airport daily anyway, I mail things here. Staff is usually very helpful, friendly & efficient. The drive-thru mail boxes are collected at 7:30pm every day, but you can go inside even later than that if they're still open to get a same-day postmark. And like other post office branches, the lobby is open 24/7 for stamp purchases.

Yelp
Love the setup and stores at this airport. It's not a nightmare to maneuver yourself around!
google avatar

Camille R.

Yelp
Tampa international airport is a nice airport to run through if you're visiting the area or if you have a layover. There's there's plenty of seating, good restaurants and places for kids to enjoy themselves. The signage is very clear for you to guide your way through the airport whether it's to your gate to baggage claim or to ground transportation. They also offer a couple of chain restaurants for you to sit and enjoy yourself.
google avatar

Matt C.

Yelp
Tampa International consistently ranks as one of the nation's top airports to fly in and out of and it's easy to see why. Extremely efficient, spacious, and very well maintained. It's been a few years since I've flown in and out of Tampa. Flying in was a breeze and same goes for flying out. The weirdest thing about the entire airport (in my humble opinion) is that you take the tram before security and not after. They make you scan your boarding pass, you take the train (it's only one stop), then you go through TSA. It's odd if you ask me. Security is relatively painless compared to other large airports. We have precheck and we're through in less than 5 minutes. In the terminal, lots of seating and a good amount of places to eat. I ended up having an early beer and Cuban sandwich for old time's sake from the Cigar City Brewing outpost. WiFi is fast, the announcements are loud, and the signage is clear. In terms of airport efficiency and execution, Tampa has to be towards the top of the list.
google avatar

Sharon S.

Yelp
Beautiful airport with an efficient & fast shuttle connection to various gates. Train service to remote parking and rental cars is reliable and smooth. Nice variety of restaurant options. Art installations are pleasing.
google avatar

Trent B.

Yelp
Large airport with Alot of fun features and restaurants. There are multiple shuttles you have to take to get to certain parts of the facility like the rental car area which can make it a bit confusing to get around. Its a clean airport and the bathrooms were in order and clean. Over all seemed like a bright welcoming airport to get your trip to Florida started.
google avatar

Deanna D.

Yelp
My husband and I had a plane change at the Tampa International Airport. This is definitely one of the nicer airports we have been to. Pretty clean and easy to navigate. While it is rather large, if is not as big and not nearly as confusing as the airport in Miami which I like to try and avoid at all costs.
google avatar

Cody L.

Yelp
Still one of my favorite airports in the US. Helpful service, friendly TSA, clean surroundings. comfortable seating in the terminal, and some of my favorite food options in an airport! Easy access in and out of the rental car area with fast shuttle service and sky railway system.
google avatar

Austin G.

Yelp
Tampa International Airport is a delight! Spacious and beautiful, it's an airport that doesn't overwhelm or stifle. Flying in and out on American Airlines for a 24-hour work trip, the airport was a respite. There are plenty of places to sit and plug in. There's fast, free Wi-Fi and plenty of shops and restaurants. There's even subtle and not so subtle (like the giant flamingo sculpture) public art throughout. Security was a breeze and the TSA agents were personable. The train to and from terminals is fast and run often. What a great airport!
google avatar

Stephen W.

Yelp
This airport is pretty easy to navigate. It is clean and modern. Check in was easy. I give it four stars because I am not a big fan of having to take both a train and a tram to get the terminal and then our gate. Eating options are adequate. Bathrooms are clean. Most car rental offices are located in the airport, although there are offsite options. Overall, one of the better (and newer) airports I have gone through.
google avatar

Mia R.

Yelp
Honestly, one of the best and least stress-inducing airports I've ever traveled into and out of. I had a flight into TPA from MIA, and especially in juxtaposition to the chaos that is MIA, TPA is such a breath of fresh air. The gate we flew into was super chill and easy for a Sunday afternoon. Finding my way to the baggage claim was very easy using their inner train system which was a very short ride to the arrivals area. When you exit the train area, I came into a sea of people waiting with flowers and balloons for loved ones arriving. This was during the holidays so I'm sure this isn't a normal occurrence but I haven't seen a lot of people park to meet people their picking up at the airport in quite some time so I think this is an ode to how well organized and structured this airport might be. Just a theory. When leaving, although I'm a two hours early to the airport kinda gal, I think I could've easily arrived within the hour to board my flight. TSA was a breeze to get through, even without pre-check or CLEAR. They were also some of the most cheerful TSA security I've ever encountered. Overall, love TPA!
google avatar

Tawny V.

Yelp
I had a fantastic first-time experience flying out of Tampa International Airport! From parking to check-in, everything was easy to navigate and very straightforward. I was pleasantly surprised to find that TPA has become one of my favorite airports. One of the standout features for me was the ability to enjoy lunch with loved ones prior to my flight. The area above ticketing is filled with a variety of restaurants, shops, and amenities. It's great to have this opportunity to spend quality time with family and friends before parting ways. What really impressed me was the thoughtful design of the airport's layout. Even if you don't have a boarding pass, you can still take a moment to bid farewell to your companions in a respectful manner, without feeling rushed. I've experienced this stress in many other airports, so it's wonderful to see that TPA prioritizes this aspect of the travel experience. Lastly, I have to mention the unique touch of having N.Y-Style single-sliced pizza at the gate! It was a delightful surprise that added to my overall positive experience. The flamingo art installation was also a fun touch. Overall, I would highly recommend Tampa International Airport for its ease of use, comfortable amenities, and thoughtful design.
google avatar

Gabriel S.

Yelp
Very nice airport although a lot larger than I'm used to. You ready to take the interior train to your flight and or to the baggage area. They seem to have a few less places to eat than I would have expected on some of the smaller gates. They have plenty of restrooms places for water and lots of places to shop if you have to spend a fair amount of time there. It's a very large airport so most of the rental cars you take a shuttle out to them if you decide to rent a car . They have easy public Access for public transportation to and from the airport. I was flying Delta and they have outside Delta sky cabs like most airports.
google avatar

Isaac A.

Yelp
Super fast processing and extremely easy to navigate. I like smaller airports and this was a great and efficient experience. Car rental drop off takes you straight to the team, it is so easy. There were a good amount of food options near the A gates, but mostly typical American food.
google avatar

Amanda T.

Yelp
Easy to get around, park, rental cars and ticketing. This is our go to airport! The southwestern terminal could use more food options but we are grateful for Starbucks and the convenience stores for bottles of water for the flights. Baggage claim could speed up a bit as it is always a wait.
google avatar

Cheyenne G.

Yelp
My mom and I thought it was so interesting how TSA is separated to your specific terminal. Great way to keep the lines down honestly-- I've never seen an airport laid out like that! Staff was also incredibly friendly compared to my home airport of Ohare, haha
google avatar

Alison C.

Yelp
I love Tampa airport. It's clean, the staff is friendly and helpful. Security is quick and efficient. Barring weather delays, everything seems to run smoothly here
google avatar

Johnnyboy D.

Yelp
In true airport fashion, it's freezing up in here. I understand why airports are frigid but Damn Gina. Y'all are gonna give a brotha pneumonia Tampa airport security was easy breezy. Not too crowded and the lines moved fast. Maybe because it's a Tuesday? ‍
google avatar

Sharilyn T.

Yelp
I honestly think that Tampa has one of the best airports in the country, it is super accessible, clean, efficient, orderly, they have good food options in all their terminals, their bathrooms are quite clean. You can move quickly from one section to another with the trains that are super effective. In addition to everything said above, they have a super nice and warm decoration to welcome or say goodbye to this city and a super plus of this airport is the location, it is super well located, you can go anywhere in the Tampa area quickly and the greatest and the best plus of this airport is that it is international and you get good flights from here to all parts of the world. So far I have not had any bad experience with this airport.
google avatar

Robert C.

Yelp
This is better than some of the larger airports but we still like smaller ones for lack of traffic and easy in snd out We roughly split our flights between Sarasota which is half the distance but doesn't offer a lot of direct flights, and Tampa which offers a better selection but still requires a stop in most cases. Terminal is clean & spacious and provides plenty of room with a variety of (mediocre) food and drink choices. We normally Uber so haven't experienced parking which we're told is easy. The monorail provides swift transportation from main terminal to the various terminals/gates. There is a Delta Sky Club if you're eligible. Could definitely use a Vino Volo or more appealing food choice.
google avatar

Lancer K.

Yelp
Very cute and "beachy" feeling airport! Love it! I like that there is one main terminal and lots of trains. I'm disappointed as to how difficult it is to get picked up. If you follow the signs, they have you leaving the main terminal, riding the train to across the car rental place. At the car rental place it's not clear where to go but people directed me to the skyway. On the other side of the sky way, nothing is designated a pickup place except for ride sharing. My advice is for those from out of town wanting a lift from a friend, ignore the signs telling you to leave the terminal and exit the building and find the pickup or drop off location. If you take the train, you'll end up being confused and your friend can't find you even using a a pin for them to find you (I'm really surprised this didn't work with Apple Maps. My friend ended up on the wrong side of Sky View Center and then sent me a pin and I walked 3 minutes to find her.)
google avatar

karina k.

Yelp
Modern, upgraded, clean. Signs are big and easy to read and the bathroom signs are extra large (see pic) and I think it definitely helps people with eyesight issues. The shuttle train takes you from the rental cars to gates and is fast. There are many nice stores. The flamingo is beautiful. When you go through security its technologically advanced like many airports are adapting with taking pictures of you, scanning your ID, and your boarding pass.
google avatar

Manish B.

Yelp
Award winning airport. Specifically the restrooms that I just noticed this plaque on the entrance to the loo. Indeed the bathrooms were clean and everything was working, no t smelly, floors were immaculate, good soap and water, plenty of paper towels. I was recently in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur airports and the had the extra benefits of bidets. TPA has something to strive for to get to number one, maybe some white noise like ocean waves and such. Let's go Tampa!
google avatar

Shaeyla D.

Yelp
Never had a bad experience with TPA, both domestically and internationally! It definitely stays at the top of my list so far, and I've traveled through many an airport. This particular check in, though, was after hurricane Milton and I just need a place where I wouldn't have to fight for power, outlets, food, and parking. It was the perfect place, even if I had to pay for parking. It was worth it. All in all like I said, I've so far always had something good to say about TPA.
google avatar

Haydee T.

Yelp
Very clean, comfortable, easy and efficient airport. From the easy drop off / pick up areas to the location where ride share picks up. There are plenty of seating options in the Gate A area. The electric charging stations actually work ! Minimal shops and restaurants offered, but diverse options included. Would be great to have more options. The airport was playing Christmas music through the speakers while I was in the terminaI(A). I like Christmas music , but I know not everyone can appreciate this. I really liked the airport and look forward to my next trip to Tampa via the airport.
