We had an amazing weekend stay at the Tampa Marriott Water Street! The location was perfect — close to so many great restaurants and attractions. The rooftop pool was a highlight — relaxing with a great view of the city. We also loved that the water taxi was included with our stay — such a fun and unique way to explore Tampa. The service was excellent and the overall experience exceeded our expectations. We’ll definitely be back!

Google
Lovely hotel and great location if attending events at the Amalie Arena. Valet parking was great but that's kinda where the guest services ended. Reception allocated us a room for two people when there were three of us, the bar staff could not have been less friendly, approachable or effective, and two weeks and several requests later they've still not been able to get me my final invoice. At $400+ a night would probably go somewhere else...

Google
Great location!!! Really enjoyed our stay at Tampa Marriott Water Street. The location was great and in a nice area in Tampa. This hotel also had a lot of restaurants, comfortable rooms, and nice view to the waterfront. It’s right across Amalie Arena and close to the Tampa Convention Center so it’s very convenient for events. Would definitely stay hare again.

Had an amazing stay. Went to the buffet in the morning with 4 kids ages 12-2. Walking into a nice buffet with a bunch of kids was a little stressful but Luz was immediately so helpful and kind! She made the whole experience so smooth. Thank you!

Google
Nice hotel in a good location with nice views of the water. Brenda and Shasha at the front desk were very helpful. Farren in the concierge lounge is amazing. She was super friendly and keeps the lounge spotless and well stacked. Would be great to have some mini omelettes or cheese on the eggs.

Google
Great location! I spent the 4th of July weekend here, and it was one of the best hotels to get a view of the fireworks. Their JW Marriott connects to it, and on the pool deck, there's a perfect view of the fireworks from the bay. The staff are all very professional and friendly. Rob was the first person we had the pleasure to meet at check-in. He made sure to thank us for being a loyal Marriott member and reviewed all of the amenities and perks included with our stay. At check-out, Precious and Malachi were also very kind and made sure we were satisfied with our visit to the hotel. The only reason this hotel loses a star is because the room doors have a slight opening that unfortunately allows a lot of noise and disturbances while resting. The beds are also extremely firm and uncomfortable. The property is absolutely gorgeous. Parking is valet only, and I highly recommend using the QR code on the ticket to request your vehicle ahead of time.

Google
Great hotel. Excellent executive lounge for members with status. Did not receive a status room upgrade but standard room was nice. Great lobby bar overlooking water. Great hotel. Will stay here again.

Google
Love this hotel. Check in process was a breeze by phone. Room key on phone. I never made it to the front desk. Absolutely awesome. I am presently still here for a few more days. Will definitely return.

Yelp
Great place for a quick stay. We came here for one night after a Jim Gaffigan comedy show. This is the perfect place to stay if you watching a show at Amalie Arena. You can walk everywhere. We walked to Sparkman's wharf and I really enjoyed walking along the water the next day just for fun. You pay a $30 resort fee, but you get a $30 food and beverage credit that you can use at any of their full service restaurants. We used it at Beacon. They also have a drink hour every day (we didn't go because the one on the day we were there was at the JW Marriott, which is just across the street, but still we were being lazy) and a workout class (ours was at 7 a.m., which I definitely was not going to make). They also have free bike rentals, free paddleboard rentals, and water taxi. These were all amazing perks. The lobby is gorgeous and there's tons of places to sit and work. My husband had to work the next day so I sat in the lobby until he was done. I actually sat there for three hours reading a book and nobody bat an eye. My one knock is the pillows could definitely be more comfortable and if you have a street view it's pretty boring. Overall, I liked this hotel and I'll definitely stay here again.

Yelp
View is great. Nice staff. A little pricey but peaceful. Am mad at the Marriott for no longer accepting cash at their properties. The big soulless corporations are.just wrong about this. Im tired of charging everything. I brought cash. How do you tip the staff? They are the ones who are getting screwed over. They are pissed. Im done with us douche bags

Yelp
Second year in a row, for a long July 4th weekend, and this time will be my last. Front desk truly messed the experience for me by keeping my family and I waiting for almost 5 hours for an upgraded room considered to be "the best room in the house" to catch the July 4th fireworks. We were put in a room in the 21st FL that had no remote control and an unflushed toilet and then moved to RM 838 where there was a stink of cat litter mix with piss. By the second day I realize it was the toilet tank leaking water due to a messed up float or refill tube. All these issues were addressed and rectified by the hotel. The only good in this trip was the cleaning staff in charge of my room and Bruce and the entire pool staff that went above and beyond to make this trip somehow salvable.

Yelp
I promote businesses and currently have a hotel campaign I am working on. The hotel manager guy told me I could not take pictures of the room. He was not busy and wasn't interested. He was also curt with me. It is free marketing for the hotel!!! Marriott is not like this normally. I have Lifetime Status and normally they are so nice. Yesterday the 2 hotels I did, were amazing and appreciated it. This was the hotel I chose in Tampa because I have stayed here for years. Poor decision on his part..

Yelp
Excellent hotel, service, and location. The room was comfortable with an incredible view of the river walk and beyond. The bed was comfortable and amenities were nice. The service and staff were friendly and very helpful. Hotel, pool, and dining areas were all very well kept and felt elegant.

Yelp
Stayed one night... One key did not work but i fixed it easily at the elite checkin desk. I was upgraded. Bathroom was big and beautiful but a few design missteps... Only one light in the bathroom and it was bright! No night light. Only one hook and by the toilet over the trash can, not near the shower. No shower cap. Loved that it was connected via a walkway to a rooftop bar. Overall nice stay. Would stay here again

Yelp
We did a resort pass for a bed, and it was so nice! They reserve your space and give you a fruit platter and towels highly recommend for a fun day in the sun. Only gave it 4 stars because they had no music playing and it was empty so vibes were a little low

Reid S.

Yelp
Treated very poorly. I am a titanium member and was treated very poorly by the front desk and the management. Never had it experience like this at a Marriott before. Would not recommend.

Yelp
Five nights here. The room was ok. Everything worked but a lot of the surfaces are quite worn. The bed as comfortable and the pillows were adequate. there is an ok lobby bar. I kept the housekeeping to every other day to limit disturbance. The housekeeping that I did have was effective. The conference facilities were well organized and reasonably comfortable. The AV setups were good.

Yelp
Beautiful place and hotel. Places to eat are plenty and nice walking distance to the dock. We had the city view and our friends had the water views. We stayed for a night. The room is nice but you can hear the noise inside and outside of the hotel. Since, I came from nights, couldn't sleep to nap before the nights big event. Then, time paying our bill, they tried to charge us twice for the parking. But, that got straightened out right away. So, always check your bills.

Yelp
This Water Street Marriott hotel is nestled in one of my favorite locations downtown, giving it many purposes. From above you'll catch glimpses of Amalie arena, the Tampa Riverwalk, restaurants and trolley cars. Basically a choose-your-own adventure. I recently spent an entire day at the pool under a reserved clam shell daybed. We were greeted by Bruce, who brought us a complimentary fresh fruit bowl and bottled waters on ice. He consistently checked on us throughout the day with impeccable service. The patio bar opens at 11, and we lucked out with Shawn the bartender. He kept the entire pool deck hydrated with deliciously crafted cocktails. We ordered lunch from the hotel which he delivered to our clamshell. We went with lettuce wrapped cheeseburgers and fries with house-made pickles. Gluten-Free and DELISH. Live music all day! A solo singer and guitarist, with a bit of a country twang, covered classic rock and 90s alternative songs. For a pool deck with the capacity for hundreds, we shared it with about 50 people on a gorgeous sunny day. We left feeling so relaxed, especially since valet handled the car. Would definitely book another stay here!

Yelp
I had the pleasure of staying here for a conference. It was one of the host hotels so o booked with a group rate of 189 a night for a 2 bed queen room. I was supposed to be sharing the room but my roommate for the week canceled so I had it all to myself. I could have changed to a single king bed room but that would have been an additional 179 a night. Wasn't worth it to me so I sued the second bed to lay out my clothes. If you have a vehicle you have to use the valet service. It was 38 a day with 24-7 access. It tended to get backed up quite a bit so I would recommend calling down 15-20 minutes prior to coming out to give them time to bring your car up. You can choose to use a nearby public parking lot if you don't mind walking a block or so. The location was very conveniently located directly across the street from the convention center where my conference was being held. It was very convenient that I could quickly access my room when I needed to. Check in process was quick and easy. I have the Marriott app that I used to check in and get my room assigned before arrival. I didn't use the keyless entry with my phone because in the event my phone dies I can't get into my room. The hotel has a lot of amenities. A restaurant/bar in the lobby that a was able to get a quick meal at several times during my stay. They have a pool, gym, and an additional bar on the 3rd floor. You also have access to the amenities at the JW Marriott across the street. The two hotels are connected by a covered bridge so it's pretty convenient. The hotel stands at 27 floors. I was on the 24th floor and my room had a balcony that gave me an awesome view of the downtown area. All the hotel staff I encountered were friendly and accommodating. Each day I returned I found my room cleaned thoroughly and any toiletries I used were replaced. My room had a mini fridge and a single serve Keurig machine so I could get a quick coffee each morning. It's high end but you will get your money's worth.

Yelp
Always impeccable service, and such a great location. Walking distance to the riverwalk and Sparkmans warf.

Yelp
Check-In with Alex was delightful. He gave us all the information we could ask for. We requested a high floor with a water view. The room was bright, clean & modern. One note: our original room was against the elevators and you could hear the cars racing up and down the shaft. Needless to say, we had to move to a quieter room. That change was done quickly by Alex. This is a beautiful hotel and will be my choice whenever I visit Tampa.

Yelp
Another great dining experience in Tampa. Night out with my friends was amazing at the Marriott Waterfront. The ambiance was perfect for our gathering. The food and cocktail were great, and the service was excellent, and the valet parking was so convenient. Afterward we were able to take some beautiful pictures.

Yelp
Decided to spend a three days with the kids for their Spring Break in Tampa at the Water Street Hotel. Unfortunately it was not what we had expected after having spent last Spring Break across the street at the JW Marriott. First and foremost, the staff was very accommodating and pleasant, from the front desk to valet. The hotel was beautiful, clean and a bit more laid back in comparison to the JW. We were off to a great start on day one after having dined at Lona which is within access from the hotel lobby. Thought we would sleep in however were woken up at 1am with the sound of a loud movement of furniture outside the door. Turns out it was the elevator going up and down, which we heard when we were in the room all three days. I thought about complaining and asking for a different room, however figured we could deal with the noise. Then there was the vacuuming of rooms at 09:00am down the hall and above the room. We could hear the cleaning staff slamming doors and vacuuming at 09:00. It wasn't enough to complain about, however I was taking note for the reviews. Although this was not at the control of the hotel staff, there were plenty of rude customers at the Cafe who felt entitled enough to cut me off while I waited to order coffee two days in a row. Lastly, it was not what I had expected after paying $75 less than what I could have paid across the street at the JW.

Yelp
This review is for a work conference stay at this property back when it was called Marriott Water Side. Wow! What a top-to-bottom fabulous stay it was! From the conference amenities (conference rooms, A/V set up, and delicious food/beverages) to the upper floor range double room w/ a spectacular balcony overlooking the beautiful, peaceful Hillsborough River!!! My sweet Momma went TDY with me for this conference trip (to spend a few days with me and then visit my sister in Palm Bay where I would meet up with everyone after the conference ended) and I wanted to spoil Mom while I was working, and the Marriott delivered! She had room service breakfast in bed one of the days, and I scheduled a 1 hour massage for her at the Marriott's spa (I'm not sure they still have one, so don't quote me on that) which she thoroughly enjoyed! (She was getting regular massages at that time back home in Huntsville, AL). The room was immaculate and well appointed and exceeded our expectations. Room service and housekeeping did a great job, too. Parking was plentiful and easy and we enjoyed dining at several restaurants located just across the bridge. Absolutely zero complaints from a conference participant's perspective and as a Marriot guest's perspective. When my work day was done, we wrapped up each evening after sightseeing in the area (Ybor City, the Columbiana restaurant, and if I recall correctly, a cigar factory) by splitting a bottle of wine, sipping leisurely on the balcony enjoy the glorious view. Thanks Tampa Marriott for creating an incredible memory for Mom and me!

Yelp
I was here for my first conference and the stay was wonderful. Everyone was very friendly and helpful especially Mrs.Precious from the front desk. Food was pretty good . Only thing I had a balcony room and it was located next to the elevators, and you heard and felt it all night. But I would stay again.

Yelp
Do not trust their rates for conferences! I just attended a conference, the NACo 2024 (National Association of Counties), where everyone else paid $185/night, and I'm being charged over $500/night. Prior to the conference, I switched over from the Hilton when I needed to extend the stay and stay more days for my team's presentation. The slots at the hotels were filling up and the front desk person assured me that if I just booked we could reconcile the rate retroactively. What a mistake to trust! Not only is over $500/night egregious in comparison to the rate hundreds of others had, but it is not good for me when I have to submit this stay for Court approval. It will hit the news. In my understanding, Marriott should offer a government employee rate anyways, so I see no reason why this has to be such a dispute from either the conference attendee side or government rate side. Whoever the "group coordinator" is, needs to provide accountability for this fraud! I am not only talking to the conference coordinators so that they're aware of this issue, but I have also decided never to stay at Marriott again, even though I am a Bonvoy member. Beware!

David M.

Yelp
Disappointed. I am a titanium member and always clean my room before the maid gets there and always tipped $20 left on my bed. Came back to my room last night and found it not touched by the maid. Spent a lot of money on the room and food for a room not to be made up. Went to the front desk and ask for the manager. She told me she would take care of it. Nothing happened. First time in 40 years of being a happy loyal Marriott customer and I am definitely disappointed in this property.

Carlos R.

Yelp
Fully booked, 50% elevaters not working due to management not wanting to pay overtime to get them fixed. Shitshow everywhere! Badly managed services!

Karl H.

Yelp
Stayed at this hotel for a convention ... 3 nights. I'm a Marriott Bonvoy member. Decided to book 2 extra nights after the convention. However, I had a family emergency that required me to leave after the first extra night. On checkout, I reviewed my bill to discover that they charged me for BOTH nights. No mention of this ... just charged my card and called it an " early departure " fee. On questioning the charge, the Manager was rude and simply said, the charge would not be reversed. I have filed a dispute with Marriott Business Services, but would never stay at this Marriott again. I travel often for business and have never had a hotel charge me for checking out earlier than anticipated. Maybe Hilton would be a better choice in the future. btw - The charge was about $400 ... ridiculous. Book somewhere where they treat people with respect, not as ATMs.

Yelp
One of the WORST Marriott experiences for reservations. Front desk was incompetent and rude. We were waiting in the lobby for over an hour even though we used the Bonvoy app to reserve and check-into our room. The front staff were unfamiliar with the app and were very frustrated on how to navigate the check-in process. They even told us they'd love us to leave, which kind of hurt our feelings. It wasn't until after midnight that we got our room keys. Thankfully, Kristin the Manager was able to look up everything and verify our reservations. She was professional and kind. She gave us some advice to making sure this doesn't happen again and to help the process move smoother. Definitely an asset to the team. Update: Appreciate the swift response from their Team and will keep this in mind for the future. We have a 4 hour drive ahead of us now; I'm happy to report the room was immaculate and very comfortable. The amenities are kept up nicely and the woman working in Valet was so helpful to work with. It is a beautiful hotel and this one instance with check in won't take away from that.

Yelp
Very nice. We went to a concert at the Amalie. Walked over from The Marriott Water Street Hotel in just a few minutes. Perfect! Also the JW Marriott Hotel is connected by a bridge and right across a little street. We walked to American Social on Harbor Island, took 7 minutes and it was nice too. The buffet breakfast was everything we needed. Nothing extravagant like some Marriotts do, but it was perfect, coffee pot on the table, omelet station, inside or outside seating. I had oatmeal & the trimmins and eggs/bacon. Rooms had comfy 2 queen size beds, big walk in showers, our room had a balcony overlooking the Amalie and the Port. So great! Went to Busch Gardens too. Thanks Marriott.

Yelp
Stayed three nights at the Marriott Water Street and enjoyed the location and the hotel. Right across the street from the convention center, two blocks from the Amalie Arena and along the river walk, the hotel was in a prefect spot. We walked along the river to Sparkman Wharf to enjoy some food and beverages. We took the trolly (with a stop across the street) to Ybor City that was free and easy. The M Club in the hotel is staffed by wonderful, friendly people that makes your stay in the hotel even more enjoyable and had a nice breakfast selection as well as a early evening presentation. The pool area and gym were nice and clean. Our room was quiet and the bedding was comfortable. For sure will stay at the Marriott Water Street on our next trip to Tampa.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my short stay here. The facility was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the staff was friendly. My only complaint is the parking information on the website is a bit misleading. It states $45 per valet and $12 for self Park. I assumed there would be self parking available, but they just direct you to a public garage. So if you happen to be in town when any event is going on, you will not be able to find parking. There is no self parking available that is run by the hotel. Not a huge deal, but it was a surprise to me.

Yelp
This is a new-ish water front hotel located in downtown Tampa. If you don't mind walking, it is within walking distance to many shops & restaurants such as Sparkman Wharf. It's also conveniently located near the cruise ship terminal which made catching a cruise the next morning super easy & convenient. The hotel is also right across the street from the Tampa Conference Center. The Tampa Marriott Water Street has multiple restaurants, conference rooms and a pool. The rooms are large and spacious. It was also quiet and clean. The bell desk was super friendly and helpful. My only complaint was that when using the chat feature in the app the people weren't helpful and also when I went by the front desk they weren't very useful either. For example: I requested "May I please get a quiet room away from the elevator" and they told me "Sure! Thanks for being a Gold Member" - THEN I take the key, all my luggage, and get up the elevator to my room and come to find out that they gave me the room directly in front of the elevator! Like I specially asked "quiet and farthest away from the elevator" and they gave me the room literally the closest as possible to the elevator. So annoying!! If they didn't want to honor my room preference they should have just told me that instead of pretending to be helpful and then giving me the opposite of what I requested! The hotel though was nice enough that I am keeping my review at 5 stars but this was a super frustrating experience! Anchor & Brine (see my other review) is a great restaurant option located in this hotel and they also have The Garrison Tavern and Cafe Waterside restaurants. The restaurant employees & bell desk employees are lovely and overall we had a nice stay and would return.

Yelp
Had an overall very nice experience at this hotel as we stayed here for one night prior to spending a day at Busch Gardens. I was able to check in on mobile, my room key was delivered via mobile where I could skip the line, and the hotel automatically upgraded me to the concierge level based on my Marriott rewards tier; much appreciated! The room was very nice, modern and clean, and the upgrade gave us a balcony and a very nice view of the water. Standard Marriott hotels typically do not have a microwave or some other minor conveniences you get with a more extended stay hotel, and my room here was no different. We enjoyed the pool though it was a bit odd that there was absolutely nothing happening there on a Friday night. I was also very disappointed that every time we tried to take advantage of the M Club, it was closed despite the hours saying it was open. We generally had a nice time at this location, and we would stay here again if in the area.

Sarah H.

Yelp
Elevators packed and two are broken. Lines of people cramming onto any open elevator.. can't even get to our room!!

Yelp
If you are staying in downtown Tampa and looking for a (great) hotel to stay at, Tampa Marriott should be on the top of your list for places to stay. From a smooth check in, to wonderful hotel rooms, this is the best in the area. It is also centrally located in downtown and is a beautiful hotel. It is also connected to the JW Marriot and you can use the amenities of that hotel as well. This hotel is huge, and always crowded but I can easily see why. A great hotel to stay at and get a full relaxation when in Tampa!

Yelp
Made reservations for 07/08/2023- Cancel by 07/05/2023. I cancelled a month ahead of time with someone with not so good english speaking skills. 07/10/2023 the hotel took$600 anyway even though i cancelled. I called to find out what is going on and was told i never cancelled . This hotel is a rip off and the person in charge and does not care anything you have to Nicole Deconick just blows off common sense and does not care at all. Stay away as this location is horrible service and a 3rd world mentality

K K.

Yelp
I'm giving this hotel a zero Went to have a drink and dinner at the bar. Food was excellent... but my credit card was charged 3 times after I paid cash. They hold the card, which I understand, but waking up on Christmas eve to find out I have almost $400.00 charged to my card is really disappointing. Especially since I'd like to do some shopping for Christmas. I live locally, and have gone here for special occasions. They are looking into it but for now I wait for the money to go back on my card which they said could take time. There are thieves there and that's something I wouldn't expect at a Marriott. Beware. I won't go back.

Michele D.

Yelp
Went to a very professional event in the ballroom for lunch. Had to watch the plates being scrapped on the side, disgusting! Big pile of half eaten food. This needs to happen in the back of the house, not next to guests STILL EATING.
google avatar

Nat A.

Yelp
We did not reside at the property. However, we did attend a special event and dined in the Waterside Grille. Pictured below is the American breakfast served with two beverages. At $20, the price is not cheap but it is a good value. I had more food than I could eat and the beverage selections were plentiful and tasty. I recommend the pineapple juice and passion tea. My party of seven was served by Marie and Matthew. Both wore masks, were friendly and extremely attentive. We had no complaints and would return in the future.

Yelp
Located right next to the convention center this is a great location and good hotel if you need something near downtown. There is a full service Starbucks in the lobby so that is a huuuge plus. Why did I only give this hotel 3 stars? 1. When you order room service and request no cheese on the hamburger and it shows up with cheese on it AND the receipt even has typed right on it "no cheese" you have to assume the kitchen just doesn't care and the order wasn't checked before delivery. 2. There is no easy self parking. I wish I had known this as I would have booked elsewhere. I hate having to valet my car.
google avatar

Gloria S.

Yelp
A hotel this size, unless you are at the Ritz it's hard to get complete 5 stars. However this place comes close. I return every year, why? First, Because the staff. I am treated like royalty. Although problems will come up, it is always handled quickly and pleasantly. They are eager to please, that goes far these days. The second reason is the location. Easy access to convention hall (across the street), restaurants, events (Amalie arena), shops AND a real Starbucks now are all walking distances. (the hotel ones are not real, they finally opened one across the walkway bridge) Quick drive to airport, Hyde Park for tourists, International Mall (my favorite cigar lounge is there) to name a few. You can ride the trolley (free most the time, and during season) which home base and turnabout is in front of the hotel. That takes you to Ybor City (no parking there folks), the mall at the cruise port, many close by cities but not Hyde Park. Love having the healthiest buffet breakfast at the grill, sitting out the patio, watching the waterway, boats, strolling the waterside along with joggers, dog lovers. There are also many rentals across the street for Kayaking, small motor boats, bicycle like water vehicles, water taxi, etc. Having come here for years, on business, this is the best hotel if you attend a convention. Others have not be updated, have serious internet problems, free breakfast is not what it's cracked up to be, lobbies that are claustrophobic and staff not consistently up to par. Can't lose with this pick. Fastest and quiet elevators, free internet in lobby, are all frosting on the cake. You will see me there again and again.

Yelp
The first issues with my experience here happened when I called to make the reservation. I had a unique situation with my stay and because of that I wanted help over the phone to make the reservation, when I called the hotel front desk the person I spoke with said they cannot do the reservation over the phone, even though the hold recording said you can make a reservation online or over the phone. Two days later I called back to ask again and the person I spoke with was more than happy to help us make our reservation. Just a lack of service from the first person I spoke with. With our check in, we had someone at the front desk named Lena helping us. She was clearly new and was not providing the same level of service to us as the other employee next to her. She didn't know how everything worked in the computer system which was fine, because she asked for help and got it done; however when we asked for information about the hotel offerings, restaurants, what is included with the destination fee (which is non optional, non refundable) she offered no information. Even though we had just heard the employee next to her talk to the other guests about what was offered for over 10 minutes. Check in took almost 45 minutes because she did not know what she was doing and we were upset that after all that she did not offer the information that would have been very helpful to us, even after we asked multiple times for more information. Another issue happened when we went to the anchor and brine restaurant and asked about the free cocktails because that was supposedly included in the destination fee. Since we didn't get sufficient information during check in, we walked in and asked the person at the hostess desk about it, and her first response was "it's for guests only though" assuming that we were not guests at the hotel (maybe based on what we were wearing, how we looked, etc?) which was very degrading. We told her we knew that and she again reiterated the samples were only for hotel guests, to which we responded that we were guests. She gave a surprised look and said "oh, let me go ask if you can get them". It was such an odd and uncomfortable experience because it's something that was promoted as a benefit to staying at the hotel and yet they didn't want to provide the service to someone who didn't seem like they belonged at the hotel. Later that day we went to the restaurant at the hotel "Lona" and my husband found some hard powdery substance in his drink that he actually drank and had to spit out to find out what it was. He was very concerned about what it was (drugs??) etc , and turned out it was likely calcified buildup from the pop machine. They comped our meal but didn't make us feel better about the cleanliness of the restaurant or food we had just eaten. Lastly, there are no water fountains at the hotel. There are water fountain stations at the JW Marriott across the street. The only water fill up station is in the lobby near the front desk and they stop filling it up after a certain time of day. Where do you get water then? As a new mom who is breast feeding having access to water is very important and this was a pain to have to go down 25 stories any/everytime we needed water. This is not what I would have expected from a 4 star hotel that we paid $500/night for. Disappointed.

Yelp
Had a really pleasant stay here. The rooms are nice and clean and the lobby is impressive. Pool area is huge. Gym is okay. I asked for access to the concierge lounge, which they gave me even though my platinum status dropped to gold. They're also one of the few properties I've been to that offered extra points in exchange for refusing housekeeping. Kudos. About the only thing I didn't like were the prices and the room service, because there really isn't room service in the traditional sense. If you want room service, they bring you food from the restaurant downstairs in the form of take out and they slap on a $5 "delivery" fee. You can pick up your order in the gift shop for no additional charge, but they didn't tell me that the first time I ordered.

Yelp
Just to be clear. I have a strong bias towards the Marriott Water Street. I have stayed here many times over the years for business and pleasure. I love the remodel they did a year or more ago out back with the bar and all of the tables and outdoor seating. Great views of the boats and watching people along the boardwalk. The location is perfect for so many things and places on and around Tampa Bay. From Amelia Arena to the new Channel Side to Oxford Exchange and even a nice walk up to Armature Works. If your new to Tampa or wanting to get away this is hands down the best place to stay in the area. But again, I'm just a tad biased. Go see for yourself. You won't regret it!

Yelp
Very nice hotel. I came here for the weekend of the Gasparilla pirate festival and it was a bit of a madhouse and the rooms were very pricy but it's location is just too amazing to pass up. It's literally located in the heart of Tampa and walking distance from almost anything fun. The rooms were clean, staff attentive, restaurant options expansive, and upper level views were amazing. It's a great place, just don't book last minute like we did.

Yelp
So we decided to spend the New Year's at the Tampa Water St., Marriott. When we arrived we noticed a beautiful hotel on the water. The valley parking was a little bit of a hustle with a number of vehicles there but I was understandable it was a long weekend and there was a hockey game and a few events going on. We checked in and went to our room. The rooms were very nice and clean. We proceeded to begin our vacation our weekend get away. The downtown Tampa area was beautiful. The restaurants were great, the food is great, the atmosphere was great. Everything seem to be going great. We had a great New Year's night. We spent the next day seeing the sights in Tampa. It was a wonderful time until the checkout. We went to the valet to pick up my vehicle it took a little longer than usual but it's understandable there was many people that were checking out that day. And as my vehicle arrived the horror began. Never have I've been so upset in my entire life as when my vehicle pulled up and I noticed that my vehicle had been crashed numerous times into the yellow barrier that are placed all over parking lots. I couldn't believe my eyes. I thought it was a nightmare but it wasn't. The valet driver Sammy who brought my vehicle told me that the vehicle was already like that when he picked it up. I proceeded to tell Sammy that the vehicle that I drove up was in perfect condition. Then another valet driver named Youse walked up to us while we talking and very aggressively told me "that's how your truck was when we got it!" Needless to say I had to control myself from really telling Youse what I wanted to say. We then called the valet manager (Harry). Harry was the day manager for "the car park" valet service. I informed him that my vehicle had been crashed several times by one of the valet drivers. I then filed a report with the valet company and then called Tampa PD to file a police report also. The manager of the Marriott was also called (Stanca). As the manager of the hotel you would have thought after seeing how my vehicle was turned into to me she would have been a bit more attentive to me. She offered me breakfast while we waited for the police department to arrive. I'm sorry but I wasn't in the mood to eat after seeing my car the way it was. The customer service was sub par. I was very disappointed with how the Marriott handled the situation. Unfortunately, the start of the new year was not a great one. Now I have to fight to get my vehicle repaired. My trucks damage was more then a little ding. My car damage is thousands of dollars worth of labor and parts. You would think they would want to make their customer happy after what their company had done, compensating my stay or a future stay or something more than a $30 dollar breakfast is customer service. To be treated like they were trying to accuse me of turning my truck in that way, and to rush us out as if the issue wasn't a big deal is not okay, not professional and definitely not how a Marriott should run. I'm really disappointed with this hotel company. My dream weekend turned into a nightmare. I don't think I'll be staying with hotel ever again. And as for me ever having to valet my vehicle again, I highly doubt it. I'll park it myself.

Yelp
Did a stay cation at this amazing resort! I can't say enough good things about this Marriott. The resort is gorgeous and the staff are wonderful. The views are amazing. Our room was beautiful and spacious. This hotel is convenient to everything. You have The Convention Center, Amalie Arena, Restaurants, The River Walk. It's in the middle of everything and so easy to walk to anything. The hotel has views of the water and the city skyline. The pool is gorgeous and located on the 3rd floor with all those amazing views. The pool deck has lots of lounges and umbrellas and there is also a pool Bar. We had a wonderful time here and will definitely be back!

Yelp
I'm going with two stars because Marriott's accountants have determined what the market is willing to pay, set the prices at that number, but then deliver a product nowhere close to what the expectations that price also sets. I spent three nights on a very busy December weekend where there was a Lightning NHL game Thursday, then Jimmy Buffett in concert on Saturday. I was willing to pay the several hundred dollar per night rate, over $400/ni once the resort fee and daily parking fees were added in, because I wanted to be in that location. For $400/night including a resort fee, should I really have to pay $6/ea for bottled water? Most resorts I've been to give the guests water, apparently not this one (thanks Hyatt!). That's not my issue though, it's the woeful understaffing and both low speed and low quality service. Check-in 5pm on a Thursday; no one at the Bonvoy desk, so expedited check-in benefit useless. One desk of the four was staffed, so that took 20 minutes after the 10 minute wait in the valet to leave the car due to how backed up they were. That part actually gets even worse but more on that later. Get to room, there's two dirty towels left, one on the nightstand, but I call down and am assured the room had been cleaned and they'd just send someone to collect those towels. I had an event to go to so kept the room but who knows how much of it had been cleaned. Body hairs in a few surfaces of the shower. Thursday night, food service shuts down at 10pm even though the outdoor bar was full. Had business guests I was entertaining so we had to order Uber Eats, who fortunately delivers to the back patio because they're used to Marriott guests having this issue. Next day, Friday morning 7:00am, Starbucks understaffed so 15 minutes for a drink, and then 20 minutes to get the car, valet advises us to text next time and they'll have it when we get down there. Friday afternoon, tried the text option, it worked; 5 minute wait. Saturday, Starbucks again 15 minute wait. Rest of the day, service at the outdoor bar for both food and beverage was incredibly slow; 20-25 minute drink orders, food 30 minutes or more. Finally, Sunday check-out day arrives. Tried to wait 20 minutes at the front desk for a receipt before giving up on the line. Starbucks, line was worse than the prior days so didn't attempt. Valet.... it literally took 60 minutes to get out of the f'ing hotel in our own car. We waited 15 minutes before asking someone if there was a way to check status without standing in line for the payment window, he informs us the texting option was broken that day, so we'd stood there 15 minutes thinking it had worked like they advised us to do the prior days, to find out we're starting from scratch, and that was the additional 45 minutes. Why would you not have a sign or announce regularly that no texts had been received; I'm sure there were others standing around assuming their car was coming when it wasn't. Last but not least, the valet staff were being ferried to and from the remote garage in an employee's supercharged Mustang with exhaust modifications, who felt the need to rev it constantly and blast off down the street, scaring my young daughter over and over. Great location, slept fine, but they clearly have no concerns at all for the value of their customers' time, and it really started to wear on me by the time I'd left the property after waiting an hour for my car.

Yelp
The Tampa Marriott Water Street hotel is on the water. The view from our room on the 25th floor overlooks the water and is lovely. Our room is spacious, impeccably clean and modern. The bathroom is large and spacious. There is plenty of room for two people to get ready at the same time. The bed seemed new and had the perfect balance between soft and supportive. The staff was very friendly and gave a nice welcome when we checked in. If they have hotel parking I did not see it. It looked like valet only. The price is reasonable at $35.00 a night. I never asked about self parking. We drove around the hotel once and called it. The hotel sits on the River Walk and the free trolley picks up across the street. This makes the location very convenient. We enjoyed a late evening snack in the restaurant. There was live music and the atmosphere was very relaxing. They have several couches next to fire pits that over look the water.

Yelp
I stayed at the Tampa Marriott Water Street in April 2022. Had a short but fabulous stay. The check-in staff were so helpful and kind, and they were even able to get me checked in 2 hours early. The room was quiet, clean, and extremely comfortable. I really liked that it had a fridge and a good coffee service. Room and bell service was super quick and accurate. The gym was well appointed. My only critiques are that the rooms don't have microwaves (they're dispersed across the floors with vending), and the pool area was a bit small for the size of the hotel. I would definitely stay again.

Yelp
When I booked my stay in July, the confirmation was for two nights. Just prior to my arriving Sep 24th, I received a notice of only One Night. I called Marriott directly and added the night back. Several days later, I arrived on the 24th of Sep and checked in, asking to have one room for both nights instead of changing rooms. All was fine... at 4am while sound asleep, Security and the Manager on duty demanded me to wake up, come to the door and provide my ID and credit card. They stated that the room was Booked using a Marriott Member number and that it was Fraud! After several minutes of my being confused and stating "I did NOT use a Marriott Member # when Booking". They left saying my room rate would go up. Later that morning, I went down to the front desk and asked to speak with a Manager & Security, wanting answers as to why this had happened and why at 4am. The manager on duty at that time knew nothing about it and said not to worry about it. When I returned to my room there was a different security person there and I asked him to explain. He said it was a Marriott mistake, most likely due to the original 3rd party booking. That it had happened before and he did not know why. He was nice and the FIRST and only person to apologize. I checked out the next day with no comment from the desk, no offer to make an apology, just "You are all set". I have Never been treated this way and then on top had no one try to make sure I would ever return of recommend their services again. I will tell EVERYONE what I think about Marriott and their client service. Don Roessel

Yelp
This hotel was excellent. The staff were amazing. We had the water view. We ate the breakfast buffet and it was great.
