Tamper in Lille may have some of the best brunch dishes we’ve had. Everything was absolutely delicious and they are known for their good coffee here. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Lille!

If you’re looking for a breakfast that feels both indulgent and nourishing, Tamper! hits the mark. I had two stunning open-faced toasts – one topped with creamy avocado, smoked salmon, beetroot, feta, and a soft-boiled egg dusted with paprika. The other was a heartier bite with crispy bacon, fried onions, spiced mayo, and another perfectly cooked egg. Both plates were beautifully presented and paired with fresh greens and balsamic glaze, adding just the right balance. It’s the kind of breakfast that wakes up your taste buds and sets the tone for a good day. A top pick for a slow morning – and definitely worth sitting outside if the weather’s nice.

One of the few options open early for us early risers. It was magnificent! So fresh, so flavorful. The staff were the sweetest. We enjoyed our breakfast immensely!

Great healthy breakfast spot! Everything was fresh and there were several healthy options. My huevos rancheros was extremely good, as was the flat white.

A real hidden gem a bit out of busy street along the way to old Lille. Really lovely Owner and FANTASTIC coffee. Brilliant food is a bonus. I definitely recommend and would come back only even for the service! thank you!

We had to wait outside for 15 min. because it was full. This was no problem for us and it was worth the wait. It’s a small espresso bar with limited tables, but it gives cozy living room vibes. The staff was really nice and are able to speak fairly good English. We had the avoc toast and eggslut which were really tasty. Would definitely recommend to go here if you want a nice lunch!

This is a little hidden gem. Nit only do they play 79s and 80s rock, but Tamper also has excellent coffee, nicely served. Moreover, the lunch menu is amazingly good food. Will definitively come back.

A cute little local coffee place! If I would live in Lille, I would definitely go there a lot :) It is very comfy and the waitress was very friendly!

Very yummy brekky! I opted for the Banana Bread and my fiancé chose the Yoghurt Honey and Muesli. Overall really scrumptious and the coffee is fabulous. The decor is beautiful and the staff are very friendly. We ate at Tamper! for breakfast and the only thing I'd say that I would've like would be some savoury options. The breakfast menu is very sweet and although very tasty it would be nice to have a mix. Perhaps Avocado on toast? Something like that. I'd definitely come back, the coffee is beautiful, the food is great and the staff are lovely!

Best coffee we found in Lille, good location, quirky design, nice staff. We had breakfast, chocolate brioche, savoury scones and smoked salmon. All excellent. Larger menu later in the day. Definite recommendation.

Very nice terrace in a cosy neighbourhood. Service is slow but very friendly. They're specialised in different kinds of slow coffee. The breakfast is very fresh and tasty. I really recommend this place!

I've been going to this place weekly since I've moved to Lille. It is nothing short of fantastic. The owners are incredibly nice and accommodating, the coffee is absolutely top notch (with a daily rotating roast!), the pastries are to DIE for, the turntable always plays the perfect mood music, and so on and so on and so on... By far my favorite café in Lille, Tamper leans a little more to the American/Canadian style of faire, thus there are a fair amount of expats floating around in here. And for good reason. It does away with the typical, cold French style and service and just puts forward a warm, welcoming, and genuine face that reminds me of a good cozy corner café chez-nous. Prices are a hair higher than normal, but the quality is equitably superior. It does get busy throughout the day and can get a little cramped, but take that as a sign that the secret is out and you're surrounded by good company. Bref, Tamper kicks ass!

I had the brunch last Sunday and I loved it. It was huge: brioche, bread, 1 starter (a roasted peppers pannacotta), a main (chicken tajine), a dessert (carrot cake), an excellent tea and a lemon juice. i was also inexpensive (17€!). The staff is lovely. Location is great, the place is very bright and cozy. I definitely recommend it. As a suggestion, I'd love to come back and get vegetarian/no dairy options.

We loved the chocolat pie and banana bread! Lovely and cosy place and friendly people.

Excellent coffee and food. Friendly staff and great relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended for breakfast or lunch - or both.
