⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Tamu Hotel & Suites is a comfortable place to stay in Kuala Lumpur, especially for those who enjoy city views and easy access to local food. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The location in Kampung Baru is convenient, with many eateries nearby, close to local food, attractions and walking distance to KL spots. Facilities like the pool and gym are a nice bonus. The hotel offers several on-site dining options, from casual local comfort food at the lobby café to a more elevated menu at the rooftop and sky lounge restaurants. Overall, a good value hotel for both leisure and business stays.

The hotel is focused on local/muslim tourists. So there is no alcohol served on rooftop and the pool is divided into two parts for women and men. As expected the bigger part and the most beautiful view is for men. Nevertheless I swam in the men part catching disapproving looks from the other pool visitors. View from the room is breathtaking, however if it rains you would not see anything, because the windows have no overhang.

Very disorganized staff and seems to be no communication between departments. Our reservation was made weeks in advance clearly stating that 3 adults will be staying in the room. When we entered the room, again having confirmed 3 adults at the check in desk, the room only had 1 bed with 2 pillows and bath towel sets. We had to call the front desk and demand an extra bed to be brought in the room. Furthermore, our stay lasted 3 nights. Every single day after leaving the room in the morning and coming back in the evening, we would find our used towels untouched and the beds left exactly as they were in the morning. The housekeeping department is clearly not doing their jobs properly. It is reasonable to expect that any "4-star" hotel would have the most basic housekeeping jobs on a consistent schedule. But they fail even that. Not just once, every single day. The bathroom is acceptable at best. The shower pressure is too low and the temperature of the water is lukewarm at the highest setting. We called the front desk to ask why the water temperature is so low and they sent maintenance to check the shower. After 45 minutes, they left and the water temperature and pressure was exactly as disappointing as when we called them. I cannot understand how a hotel that failed the most fundamental tasks earned a 4-star rating. If you are considering a visit to Kuala Lumpur, stay at a hotel like the Mercure.

Lucky got KLCC view. So beautiful. Service is good. Smooth and easy. Parking is okay. Need to climb fifth floor before reach hotel parking. Breakfast is okay. Not too many option. The taste is okay

The room was spacious and offered a stunning view of KLCC, Menara Kuala Lumpur, and Merdeka 118 right from the window. Overall room facilities were good, though the bathroom had a slight odor and the bathtub drain stopper wasn’t working, making the tub unusable. Dinner at Lounge 42 was fantastic, with delicious food and a pleasant atmosphere.

I would like to share my honest experience with Tamu Hotel during our recent corporate meeting, which unfortunately was very disappointing despite our early arrangements and clear communication. I had already liaised with Eira, the Sales Manager, as early as Wednesday, 2 October, to confirm all arrangements for our event on 6 October, including the check-in on 5 October. All details such as VIP parking, meeting room setup, welcome coffee, and buffet lunch had been discussed and confirmed in advance. However, on the actual event day, several major issues occurred that reflected very poor coordination between departments. When my CEO arrived, the security did not allow him to use the VIP parking, even though it had been confirmed earlier. I tried calling, but my call was rejected, and my WhatsApp message was only replied quite late. I eventually had to call the receptionist twice before I finally received assistance. This should not have happened if the arrangement had been properly coordinated beforehand. Next, when I entered the meeting room, the setup was not according to the floor plan I had provided earlier. I even submitted a drawn layout, not just verbal instructions, yet it was still not followed. When the banquet team came in, they asked me how to arrange the setup, which was very frustrating because everything had been clearly communicated and confirmed in advance. Then came the buffet lunch, which was also disappointing. I specifically requested a VIP table setup with dome service, but it was not prepared. When I asked the hostess at the restaurant, she said she wasn’t sure and needed to reconfirm. Instead of taking immediate action, she kept checking her phone to contact someone, causing unnecessary delays. I had already informed the Sales Manager that my group would be coming down at 1:00 p.m., so everything should have been ready before that time. However, the food was not fully prepared, and refilling was slow. Guests had to queue and wait for food. Another issue was the welcome coffee setup. I had clearly mentioned that our session would start at 7:30 a.m. and requested an early setup. I agreed when informed that the coffee would be served at 8:00 a.m., but even then, it was still not ready. Another group had already been served before 8:00 a.m., while ours was still pending even by 8:15 a.m. Additionally, I was told to contact the Banquet Manager directly for coordination. Honestly, that should not have been necessary. I was only organizing a meeting, not a large-scale event. For simple functions like this, all coordination should be handled by the Sales Manager as the main PIC, not passed on to multiple departments. Our company is from the F&B industry, so service quality and guest experience are things we take very seriously. Personally, I have also worked in the hotel line before, so I truly understand how operations, coordination, and internal communication should flow. This feedback is not meant to scold or condemn anyone’s work, but this issue has directly affected my professional reputation, as I handle the CEO and all board directors personally. Right now, they are not happy with the overall experience at Tamu Hotel, and that also reflects on me. I hope the management understands that when our work involves others, it reflects not only on us but also on the company and the people we represent. All our board directors initially had a very positive impression of Tamu Hotel and were planning to list it as one of our panel hotels for future corporate meetings and events. However, after this experience, they were quite disappointed and decided not to move forward with that plan. It’s really unfortunate because I personally hoped this collaboration could have continued. I truly hope the management of Tamu Hotel will take this feedback seriously and improve internal communication, event coordination, and overall service standards moving forward, especially when dealing with corporate clients. Please reconsider before you booked this hotel. I stayed for 2 night at junior suite room. I need to wait for 3 hours waiting them to change new tv (got vertical line), fridge (not function), no towel provided (as they said housekeeping forgot to put into the room). Room also not clean - have many dust and hair on the carpet. Request to change new room on the second night, same issue, tv was broken, fridge also not function and toilet cover got unremovable stain. but this time they manage to settle it within 1 hour.

I booked an Executive Suite , and the experience was extremely disappointing. The bed was not cleaned properly and had visible stains, which is unacceptable for any room, especially a suite. There was also no electricity in the room for about 1–2 hours, leaving the room hot and uncomfortable. When we reported these issues, the reception staff were rude and unhelpful. Because of the poor hygiene, lack of basic utilities, and unprofessional service, we decided to leave the hotel on the same day. I cannot recommend this property based on our experience.
