Honest Review of Our Stay, Disappointing Experience We stayed at this hotel from January 24 to February 5 for business purposes. Initially, we were pleased with our stay. We paid day by day, as we had confirmed with the receptionist upon arrival, rather than booking a full week in advance. Everything seemed fine until Chinese New Year approached. Without any prior notice, the hotel staff suddenly asked us to change rooms, simply because we were paying daily. This was unexpected and inconvenient. When we refused and asked to speak with the manager, a man claiming to be the manager appeared. Unfortunately, he was quite rude and insisted that we move. Given how difficult it is to find available hotels during Chinese New Year in Siem Reap, we reluctantly agreed. One of my colleagues later spoke with the front desk again, and they ultimately allowed us to stay in our original room. However, just a few days later, we were asked to move again, this time by a different staff member. When I raised concerns about not being informed in advance, they had no real explanation. It was another Friday, making it even harder to secure a different hotel on short notice. I understand that working in the hospitality industry can be challenging, especially during peak seasons. However, treating guests with respect and clear communication should always be a priority. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing due to the poor management and unprofessional handling of the situation. A little courtesy and proper planning would have made all the difference.

Location was perfect walking distance to pub st. Would recommend months in advance. I was only able to stay 3 days due to booking too late.

The room was spacious and very clean. There was an elevator to get to the upper floors. My room had a balcony overlooking the swimming pool and restaurant. The staff were very very helpful and friendly. The food in the restaurant was good and reasonably priced. Plus, the it was in a good handy location. The staff were knowledgeable about local attractions, restaurants, and transportation.

The Tan Kang Angkor Hotel is good value for money. It is is a great location in the centre of the city, yet set back from the road with therefore no traffic noise. I stayed in a deluxe room on the ground floor which was clean and spacious. Rooms on the upper floors were much smaller, yet had a lower tarriffe than the deluxe lower floor rooms. Regardless of the rooms, beds are still quite hard and there are no chairs in the smaller rooms. Generally, this is a good hotel for the price - you do get what you pay for afterall. Service personel are courteous and do their best to address any concerns. My only gripe with the staff was the early morning cleaner who played loud music while working at 5.34 am in the morning. He was clueless to the fact that he was working in an area where higher paying guests were sleeping. The pool area is very pleasant with comfortable outdoor lounges, a spa and attention to cleanliness. However, I found that curfew times were not supervised which was very frustrating for those staying in rooms adjacent to the pool. The restaurant operates throughout the day and late into the evening, yet the food was generally just OK. While Khmer food is well catered for, the choices and quality for Western guests needs some attention. Other points to note are the hotel does not have hot showers which was one reason for my lower star rating and the wifi, connected in the hotel is very hit and miss. When choosing this hotel, be sure to have access to external wifi services if needed. Overall for the budget traveller, this is a good choice if you can dismiss the cons I mentioned above.

It's a beautiful and very clean hotel in a good and very convenient location. The staff are friendly and the ones I met spoke good English. They were very helpful in arranging transportation for me. The food in the restaurant was excellent. I will definitely stay there next time I visit Siem Reap.

I don't write reviews often but I had such a bad experience at this hotel i had to let others know. Looking at the outside of the hotel you would never expect the inside to be so dated. The first thing you will notice is that there are no elevators so if you have a lot of luggage this will totally suck. Now to the room experience: we booked three rooms and all of the rooms had issues. The first thing i noticed when i turned on the lights was the scattering of cockroaches. As i started to explore the room i noticed not all the lights worked and the light in the bathroom would not stop flickering. The toilet seats were broken in all of the rooms and none of the rooms had hot water. The AC unit in all the rooms made a vibrating noise and constantly leaked. I should of listened to the reviews on this one. Never again....
