Tanaka La Dehesa

I am going to let the photos do the talking for me. So fresh. So flavorful. DELICIOUS. We were grateful for the recommendation from local friends. We will return next time we are visiting Santiago. It was worth the drive out of the city to go eat here.

Food was pretty good, but is unacceptable that we arrived and there was food remaining from old costumers in our “reserved” table. After that we ordered food and they took around 45 minutes to bring the food. In between that time I asked the waiter called Daniel why we had that those remaining plates in our table and if we could get the chips that everyone was getting in their tables as soon as they arrive. He told me yes,that’s from the house, after we got our main dishes. We ate them and ordered a cocktail, took around 25 minutes to arrive. After we finished the food the waiter Daniel brought the “snacks from the house” and he said “better late than never” which of course didn’t make any sense since we were full already and some other waiter realize about this situation and without even a minute has passed he took it out of our table, because he knew it was wrong. The cocktail arrived and was super strong and not flavored. We decided to order one last meal which was chocolate volcano, another 35 minutes waiting for it… and it arrived. During those 35 minutes we ordered the bill, and the last thing was that the waiter gave the bill to my wife when it was supposed to be our anniversary dinner, ended up ruined by a bad service restaurant… Food was amazing but the waiting and bad service made it not worth it.

This is a favorite with our Santiago family, so we go there quite often. I have found that the service is typically excellent, not surprising as the waitstaff know my in-laws by name and my in-laws know the waitstaff's names. The presentation of the food is always top-notch, colorful items placed carefully on the plate with garnishes positioned strategically for maximum effect. Where they are sometimes let down is in the flavours. Sometimes the sushis are successful, sometimes not so much. The sashimi is a failure as the fish is frozen ,not fresh. I would rather not have sashimi than have frozen sashimi. (I did get fresh, not frozen sashimi from a NIU Sushi take out stand, awesome!!_, and sorry to say it, but their nigiri and sushi rolls were better too.) I have had a fried rice dish at Tanaka a couple of times and both times it was excellent, with deep umami flavours, a coloration that suggests an overall overabundance of sauce, but your eyes lie to you. The proteins within are soft, tender and well cooked. I have also had the sautéed salmon, and that was delicately seasoned and perfectly cooked, moist, flaky, with no dryness. Ambience- 3, often super busy, noisy Service - 5 mostly Food - 4 mostly, too often less, avg. 3 Tanaka - Highly recommended

Very good Peruvian Japanese fusion food in a relaxing atmosphere. Pisco sour is excellent. When asking for the bill they asked me to complete a TripAdvisor review which I found tacky and intrusive, particularly for a fairly expensive, high-end spot like this.

..it all depends of what you are looking it is a relax atmosphere ,family friendly ...service at the beginning it is good but when it start to collapsed they are keen to forget te tables that already on the service ...bit if you have the time and relaxation about this things.skip this part...food well, how can I say it fusion Peruvian/Asian...was hard to really read it and get the idea it seems they are trying too hard to get all the clients happy..entree wasn't bad but not new a bit too much for these old gourmandise....overall if you like mixology, smoky sushi presentation ..family friendly food , relax , cleanliness...well so this is your place ...but food mmm I am not so sure the sushi is is average...that doesn't mean is bad..it is pure an opinion..have fun(non lactose intolerant friendly)

The place it's beautiful and cuzy, food are delicious, good wine. Two things they need to upgrade one it's coffee (they don't serve good coffee but capsuled one) and cloth napkins asap (we don't expect to use paper napkins in places like this

Worst pisco sour ever. Overall, the place is for rookies or those who don't mind overspending due to lack of options in the area, or whatever. Overrated and over priced. Plus, they don't like fixing your drink when you tell them it's off....something as widespread as a dry pisco sour...they bring you a room temp lemonade with a bit of booze on it...just terrible. The one in Vitacura is much better.

worst place... they know nothing about sushi or asian food.. rolls had a weird smell.. bought to go and as soon i got home opened the container to find myself with a horrid burnt rotten fish/plastic smell.. threw everything away.. not even bothered to go back as either way I would accept anythin less than refund which im sure they wouldnt do... ZERO stars (this is my first google maps review)
