Tandoor Indian Restaurant

Amongst the four Indian restaurants we tried in Almaty this was the second best. Ambience was very Indian and food was good too. Excellent service. If you order daal don't go by the size of the servicing bucket it's about 65% only of the total size. ;) Over all good dining experience finding Indian food in Almaty

It was a nice restaurant. With little wait , due to being crowded, we got our food. Food was OK. Medium spice instructions at the time of ordering is recommended.

Very nice Indian restaurant (with a few pan-Asian dishes) not far out of the centre of Almaty. Good selection of food with cold beer and a relaxing atmosphere. Friendly service and English spoken. Recommended!

It is Very good Indian food. I have been here few times. consistently good food. service is fine too and they speak Hindi also . Manager and one of service staff is very much polite and definitely will recommend to visit if you are in almaty 👍 will go 🚶‍♂️ again..

We had veg food. Food was delicious. Staff is extremely polite. We needed a very small portion of rice for our baby. They quickly served it and didn’t even charge for it.

Very tasty Indian food and great service. I ordered chicken assortment and tandoori chicken. I liked everything. You can choose the level of spiciness when ordering.

The atmosphere at this Indian restaurant was absolutely beautiful - such a warm and inviting place to enjoy a meal. The staff was incredibly friendly and made me feel very welcome. They also kindly explained which dishes could be made vegan, which was very helpful. The food was cooked so deliciously, with so many different flavors that blended together perfectly. Every bite was full of taste and truly unforgettable.

Drawn by the restaurant’s 20-year legacy and strong feedback, I had high hopes for my visit. However, the experience did not live up to expectations. The spring roll, prepared with cabbage instead of noodles, lacked the classic flavor profile, earning it an average rating of 3 out of 5. The malai kofta, though served with four pieces, was bland and the portion size felt insufficient. While the stuffed potato kulcha stood out as a highlight, the garlic butter naan was burnt, which diminished the meal further. On the positive side, the restaurant boasts a decent ambiance, enhanced by Indian music that adds to the cultural experience. They also accommodate special requests for occasions like birthdays and anniversaries, which is a thoughtful touch. Unfortunately, the evening ended on a sour note as I experienced stomach discomfort shortly after dinner, raising concerns about food quality. While the restaurant has potential and some redeeming features, significant improvements are needed in both food preparation and overall quality to match the legacy it proudly upholds.
