Tandoori Taqueria

Adorable space! Delicious nan tacos! We had the tandoori and the tika. The tandoori was out of this world delicious. We also liked the “kitchen sink” sauce they served as an option. Max, who took our order AND did the cooking, was a standout. 10/10 for Tandoori Taqueria!

The flavour of the "tacos" was very, very nice. We really enjoyed our time here. However there's absolutely no Mexican cuisine to be found here. I guess the taco concept would be the only thing. This part was sad for me as I was expecting a true blend of both cuisines (since you're naming your restaurant a Taqueria, some concepts and flavours of what a Taquera is must then be present, which is not the case here). I wouldn't recommend this place if you're curious of what a blend of Indian and Mexican cuisine is. Please note that I do recognize the flavors were fantastic, a very well done Indian cuisine, not so the Mexican side. We tried the Pozole taco and a Chorizo taco, none of them resembled not even to the very least what Pozole and Chorizo must be...

Got the limeades and they were refreshing, the tandoori was alright. The chicken was really really dry 🥲 I’m not sure if that’s how it usually is, but I ate it all still cause I don’t believe in wasting food. My friend got the taco trio and most of those tacos were pretty good!

Loved everything about Tandoori Taqueria. The food was so good. I got the taco trio and tried all the meat options. Each was unique and absolutely delicious. The service is fantastic. The chefs cook in the open kitchen in the restaurant and everything just feels so authentic and fresh. The environment is so easy to hang out in and relaxed. We will be coming back again!

We loved our dinner here. Everything was so flavourful. The place is super cute with high ceilings, warm colours, and cozy decor. We had the dipping naan appetizers and the veg combo tacos. With each, we got a delightful range of fresh and vibrant flavours. The hot cha was perfectly spiced.

Glad we chose to go here for lunch! The atmosphere is excellent. Terrific music. But let’s talk tacos! I got the Three Taco Plate sampler. It was delicious. My favorite was the tikka tikka. The food is distinctly flavored in excellent combinations. It tastes freshly made and genuine. It’s very approachable and there’s something for everyone. Come try it!

I am so excited that these folks are back! I’m also excited that they’re no longer in hard-to-find a back alley. I absolutely love the concept of quick, Indian-food tacos. Using naan as the shell is a no-brainer. The cabbage slaw is fresh and the fillings are hot and flavorful. We ordered the tikka tikka and chile relleno tacos. They came SUPER quick. (my only complaint about the old location the the amount of time it took. That has been fixed!). The vibe is cute, casual and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. And they bring you heaps of masala popcorn while you wait (if you’re confused by the concept, thenI guess you have to just check it out). At the moment they’re running a limited menu, but the old favorites should be back soon. Let’s help these folks thrive here in the Maven District.

You must visit Tandoori Taqueria and give their new menu items a try! I had the Dada's Masala Eggs for dinner and it was so delicious, packed with flavor, and a nice hot meal in this cold weather. Service is quick and kind. I've been a handful of times and the staff are all great. I love that Tandoori has so much space, books to read while dining in, and great music.

Cozy spot featuring fresh made, high quality tacos. Service was very friendly. Pickles were expensive, but outstanding. Each pickled veg had a completely different pickling liquid so each one tasted distinctly different. I didn't try the tacos myself but SO said they were very good. I did try the iced tea and it was fantastic! Give this cute spot a try!

Yelp Elite don't you DARE let this place go out of business! This is the kind of local unique cuisine that we need to keep in business and in Utah! The place wasn't very busy on a Thursday evening but the food was delicious! Easily the best tacos I've had in Utah to date. A fun hybrid of Indian and Mexican food. I got the 3 sampler taco plate and loved it. Each one was completely different. My favorite was the tikka tikka taco with slaw and tangy chutney. It needed a tad more sauce but they provide extra to add if you wish. I could have eaten a whole plate of just these. And don't pass up on the drinks, clearly homemade with all the rich spices, they are worth getting. I almost got a second. Please go support this business!

Visited for my birthday, and it made my 40th, if all I do this year is eat here, it's been a most successful year. I was absolutely blissed out! Loved the atmosphere, go for the taco trio! Naan, dal and pickled veggies were delicious and nourishing, picky kids loved the gulabi agua fresca. Will be back again and again!

This is going to be my new favorite day off ritual. The inside is so cozy and welcoming, love the open kitchen look. Everyone working there was friendly and chill , matched the vibe perfectly. I got an iced tea, it was so good I got a second one to go. They brought over a delicious masala popcorn for me to snack on while I waited for the food. The tikka tacos were excellent, so pretty and delicious and fresh (highly recommend the habanero sauce if you like some spice). Definitely go!

First time trying Mexican Indian fusion but it works! Located on the 9th and 9th where there are tons of other great women owned businesses, Tandoori Taqueria blends two unique cultures in a chill, modern restaurant. I grabbed lunch here and was one of a few customers there. I ordered the Tikka Tikka tacos which instead of flour or corn tortillas it was naan bread. The Tikka was delicious but not as flavorful as traditional Tikka. I did load up on the sauces which definitely added amazing flavor. I wish it came with a side or something for the price. It's an open kitchen concept so you order at the counter with the chef. Not sure what would happen if they were busy though but it's a great place to grab lunch.

Always amazing each and every time! The flavors are so well combined and the vibe of this new location is just as fun as the original location. The owner and staff are always so great and kind. Definitely a bright spot in the SLc restaurant scene. Be sure to try all the things!!

The creator of this food fusion menu is a genius. One of my favorite things about Indian food is naan. So, envision a taco enveloped in naan. Best combination ever. I tried the veggie trio and the chickpea one was my favorite. Great service and the decor was charming.

Fantastic! Amazing vibe, owner and staff make you feel like you belong there! My visiting family from Santa Monica where great cuisine abounds said it was the best taco they've ever had! My chili relleno was unlike anything I'd ever had. Indian food with a Mexican presentation is genius. They went from 4 stars to 5 when they brought out a blanket-lined box for our 6 month old granddaughter to sit in!

Very delicious tacos. I love the naan taco shells. Everything was good, but our favorite was the beef and chorizo taco. The zesty Tomatillo chutney really set it off. The bowl o'pickles were so fun to eat, we especially loved the pickled watermelon rind and radishes. We absolutely loved the gulabi agua fresca. Unique, bright, and full of depth with the clove.

I'm so glad Tandoori Taqueria resurfaced and in a very desirable area. A group of friends had dinner here and so glad we did! Love the ambiance, the food, and special sauces on the side! Every taco was bursting with flavor but can we talk about the naan and how amazing it is and the right consistency and texture and reminds me of my mom's homemade naan. I can't wait to come back and support this local business!

Tandoori Taqueria has a cozy, inviting vibe with leather couches and communal tables that make it feel like a great spot to hang out. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and the Indian fusion tacos were definitely tasty--creative and flavorful. That said, we left feeling a bit unsatisfied. At $14 for two tacos (which were a decent size, to be fair), it felt like we were paying more than the food delivered. No sides were included--rice or something simple would go a long way, especially when you're already spending a fair amount. You can add sides, but it all adds up fast. I'd love to see this place flourish, and it has a lot of potential, but for now, I'd need to see a bit more value in the overall meal to feel good about returning.

LOVE this place!!! The owner is incredible and so personable. She takes the time to go table to table after making the food and I love that. The ambience is cool and accommodates groups well--we went here for book club and jet was great. You do have to wait a bit for your entrees, especially if you're with a bigger group, but it's well worth the wait. Will be going back again and again!

So yummy! We got one of everything and I was pleasantly surprised by the vegetarian tacos. I don't usually care for vegetarian food but it was really good! My favorites were the taki taki taco and the cauliflower taco. I also enjoyed the popcorn you get while you wait. And the ambiance of the place is so nice and relaxing with not just chairs and tables but also couches. Overall super great place with great food.

Fantastic, fresh, flavorful food. Thoughtfully concocted and presented. A relaxed dining room that felt like a coffee shop or hangout spot. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Great music! Just down the street from Liberty Park.

Amazing flavors! Best new restaurant I've tried in quite a while now. I got the Chana vegetarian tacos (not sure if they are vegan but they had no obvious dairy/egg). My friend got the 'trio' to try all 3 meat tacos. We also both bot their homemade kambucha that was sweetly refreshing, and the (i think it was) Manila Popcorn that I could have snacked on forever (although admittedly i added salt, but i think thats more a me problem). I can't recommend this place enough, can't wait to go back!

Ordered the Naan and the Tikka tacos. The date ordered the taco trio. Neither of us were very impressed. Their cha (Chai?) was good though. Wait staff was nice.

We read about the Tandoori Taqueria and had to give it a try. Upon arriving, we met the owner, Ripple, and placed our order at the counter. We selected the trio, a sampler plate of three tacos with distinctly unique fillings (Chicken Tika, Beef and Chorizo, and Pozole). We then chose our table. The ambiance of the place was very comfortable and somewhat homey. A server brought us a bowl of seasoned popcorn to enjoy while we waited for the tacos. It was so delicious and addicting. I couldn't place the ingredients, except it seemed like some melted ghee and garam masala spice was drizzled throughout. Yum! Then the tacos...wow! Grilled naan was used for the tortilla, and shredded cabbage enveloped the nicely spiced meats. I didn't think I was very hungry, but I ate all three tacos! We really enjoyed our experience at Tandoori Taqueria. We will be back soon. Maybe we will see you there!

It was so good we didn't even have time to take a photo before we ate it all up! We were visiting from out of town and wanted to try something yummy for lunch. And I AM SO GLAD we choose this place. Everything we tried (taco trio and tandoori chicken tacos) were bursting with flavor and texture. The popcorn was also delicious. They were also so so nice. Can't recommend it enough! Gotta try it out!

The spot itself was cool, new and industrial vibe. Very welcoming! We ordered the three different tacos and the flavors were great. Very unique and very enjoyable. Portion sizes were decent too!

We came hungry and tried one of everything on their soft opening menu. All the ingredients are fresh and delicious - the naan tortillas are made in house and are perfectly chewy, the slaw topping was vibrant and crunchy, and all the fillings were flavorful and delicious. We loved them all, but the pozole was the stand out to us. Their sauces were maybe our favorite part of the whole meal - appropriately labeled as "VERY HOT" and "VERY MEDIUM" - we put solid dents in both, and will be back just to buy the bottles when they're in stock. The service was very friendly and attentive. Seating options were varied, with small tables, long communal tables, and couches. It will be a great spot for date nights, group dinners, and casual hangouts. So excited to have this place in the neighborhood and will be back often!

Food was amazing and customer service was fabulous. The trio tacos and chille relleno taco was so good and make sure to add the sauce they offer. We were very impressed with the owner visiting each table and checking in on her guests. What a great experience, we will definitely be back :) thanks Tandoori Taqueria !

Great fusion tacos in the Maven district. First time, so I had the veg trio and my partner had the taco trio. All delicious, but a lot of food. Would have been fine with just two tacos. The place has a great vibe and is a nice addition to the Maven district. Try it!

So I should take a picture of my food but I licked the plate clean. I had the channa a la veracruzana and my grey drained energy immediately sparkled back into technicolored glory. You must eat here... Seriously!

So good! We tried all the tacos and loved all of them. Such good flavors and the naan made for a delicious tortilla. It's a great, colorful space with lots of sunlight, and we chatted with the owner who was very nice. We enjoyed hearing about some of their good work on sustainability. We'll happily go back soon - good to have them in town!

So excited to see Tandoori Taqueria open in a new location! Everything on the menu is delicious and so fresh tasting - you really can't go wrong! My family went to try the soft opening menu and it was just as delicious as I remember from their previous location, just in a new beautiful and open space. I went with the Pazole tacos + a side of rice and the lime drink and it was fantastic. The hot sauces can't be missed, they are incredible! We can't wait to stop back in soon for the full menu.

Well the food is amazing. you can definitely tell how much effort is going into each individual dish. tons of flavor and a healthy amount of spices/spice. service was perfect for a person like me. aware of the tables needs and checked in but not in a nosy way. Owners came over and we had an absolutely lovely chat. very comfortabke ambiance, nice soft lighting, perfect spacing between tables. Lovely music being played and smart decor. will be coming back.

Holy hell the food here is delicious!!! We ordered both of the combo platters, the vegetarian and also the carnivore one. Both were so flavorful! And the woman that owns the place is delightful, funny, and clearly an amazing cook. As others have said, the naan is fantastic. We'll be back!!

In from out of town and love fusion foods. I had the Pezole tacos on naan. They were absolutely delicious. I went for a lunch and the service was very good.

What a wonderful experience. The ambiance is mellow and the food was incredible. I highly recommend the beef and chorizo tacos.
