Tane Mahuta

Lovely drive. Beautiful forests. You are required to brush and wash your boots using automatic equipment upon entry but it is easy, quick and a small price to pay to help maintain this beautiful forest.

Absolutely a MUST SEE !! Pictures don’t give the real feel of the size of this tree, it’s MASSIVE . There was a very informative and friendly guide at the tree too.. It’s a shame so many were cut down in the early years. Don’t forget to wash your footwear as you enter and leave the park ! No cost for entry. Wheelchair friendly on pathway.

Impressively large tree and it's worth seeing because you may not have a chance later. We also did the walk nearby to the other large Kauri tree and that was quite amazing too, nice little walk through the trees.

Amazing,felt humbled and honored in his presence. Only a short 1 minute walk from car park.Rest room available on other side of the road also.

Pretty big tree as expected but not much information about it available, no sign at the actual tree to confirm that you're at the right spot and pathway continues on so would be nice to have a label.

What a sight to see...worth the journey, however it would have been nice if there was more of a walk to do directly from Tane...we hopped in the car and saw the father of the forest which is 2 minutes drive up the road, and definitely worth doing whilst uour there, more of a bush walk, only about 45 minutes I think. Beautiful though, lots to spot, fungi, different trees, flowers, insects....kids enjoyed it (ages 10 & 13) and we enjoyed it too!

An awe-inspiring experience. Tāne Mahuta is absolutely majestic — standing before this ancient giant is humbling. The short walk through native forest is beautiful and easy. A must-visit if you’re in the area!

Awe inspiring and beautiful. The advocate gave us lots of facts and the walk is very quick and easy. There's a picnic spot near the carpark.
