This place has a tone of potential. It looked like in its prime it was likely so beautiful. There are tones of flowers and greenery that have been shaped over years of work and labour. There was a tree formed into an archway which undoubtedly took years to get to! Some pathways were very over grown so it was difficult to get down and could see someone with a stroller or wheelchair would either have a very difficult time or not be able to. There was a large variety of plants and the entry way through a pergola covered in vines made for a great atmosphere to enter the gardens. We got a garden picnic basket but had some confusion as we entered as the staff didn’t tell us that the basket was for a specific group so we followed a group out and then had the staff with our basket looking for us. We had the option of a few places to enjoy our basket. We started under a nice tree but had to move because the table and the seats were all on uneven ground. The basket did have a gluten free option which was nice. The preserves in the store were a little on the pricey side and saw them two days later for cheaper at another store. Overall I tried it, and the place has great potential with a little TLC.

For the past five years, I've enjoyed visiting this wonderful business. The garden is always lovely, and the tea is delightful. Beverly, the owner, is a complete sweetheart, and seeing her is always a pleasure. Normally, the customer service is excellent, but this year, we were served by a server named Malia, who was quite rude and passive-aggressive, which dampened our experience. However, aside from this incident, every other year has been fantastic. I will continue to return and highly recommend this place to everyone.

One of the best spots in the valley to stop in for delicious flavours to spice up your kitchen or find the gift for the someone who has everything. Incredible selection of home grown and locally made jams, jellies, cordials, etc. The $10 admission to the 5 acre back yard gardens is worth it for a perfect romantic date.

The tangled garden was beautiful. There was many plants and flowers to admire. I enjoy being offered a map of the different sections in the garden. Admission was $10 per person. Which is a reasonable amount. However we were misled into purchasing ice cream after being offered to try some. There should have been a sign for clarification. Because we came to visit after a rainy week the ground was really wet. A few pathways were completely flooded blocking us from seeing the whole of the garden. We both left with muddy shoes and wet feet. There were quite a few mosquitoes there so make sure you have bug spray for not to get eaten alive.

Visited this weekend with my sister and nieces (9 and 5). The grounds were beautiful and had plenty of spring colour throughout, would be even more beautiful in summer when all the plants are in full bloom. Tasted and picked up some tasty jams, jellies and cordials. Would definitely recommend!

Nice garden, rude and aggressive owner. She yelled at my 11-year-old in front of a room of people for accidentally sitting on a chair with a seat made of flowers. Yes, there was a sign beside it but he didn't see it and it was an honest mistake. Her employee tried to help my son feel better by telling him he was the youngest person to accidentally sit on the chair, she said "usually it's elderly people who do it", which made him feel worse, but also indicates that perhaps you shouldn't have full-size chairs that are "intended for fairy bottoms only" in a seating area. She was rude to us when we who asked to use the washroom, which apparently had "boiling water" (?) squirting out of the tap. I also overhead her being quite rude to her employee. Beautiful flowers, terrible treatment.

Had the most wonderful lunch yesterday at the Tangled Garden! Everything was delicious. The atmosphere is delightful 😃 The tea room is beautiful. Toured the gardens - absolutely lovely. Looking forward to visiting the next time I'm in Nova Scotia 😄

This place is a charming location to spend an afternoon. When you arrive, you have no idea how much beauty is there until you step into the property. The 5 acres of gardens are a beautiful oasis waiting for you to engage with. Once the garden tour is over, you can visit the tea room or the gift shop where they make delicious fresh herb jellies and liqueurs, which you can buy. Such a hidden gem, totally worth the visit. They also accommodate events like weddings, offering a large event space looking out into a meadow and the Bay of Fundy in the distance. Love love love this place!

Yelp
These people are amazing and the place was beautiful. The store employees were friendly and the gardens were gorgeous.

Yelp
Ordered jams and oil as a gift, but they didn't send the right order. When we tried to get them to send the unsent goods they didn't send them to our friend, but instead sent the item directly to us in Nova Scotia! And, they wanted to charge us for the shipping! It was their error and the attitude was that it was our problem. That was the infuriating part. Never again!

Yelp
This place is off the beaten path, there's not a lot of parking in the front, and if you're not careful; you might just drive past it! There is additional parking in the back though. There's a little shop to the left when you enter & that's where you buy your $5 admission to the garden. I recommend you do your garden stroll first before buying things so you can appreciate what they sell, but also so that you don't have to lug it around with you. It's a well mapped garden with lots of greenery and later in the summer they open a little cottage inside the garden serving rose and herbal mint chocolate ice cream. They also do high teas, but we were a week too early for their opening dates for that. The garden itself is thriving & there are so many nice places to take pictures while you stroll. I'd recommend bug spray & sunscreen depending on the weather. It's also good that they give you a map with your admission. The herb gardens are abundant and you can smell them as you walk. They actually have a section for wedding parties as well. Back in the shop is a great assortment of herbal jellies and liqueurs made from herbs harvested from the gardens. The ice creams are also available in there too, and washroom is upstairs where you pass by the workshop where they make the wooden packaging for the gift sets. The lady at the counter is absolutely wonderful, and great at recommending flavours as well as giving generous little samples on crackers. She even let us sample a hidden gem there which was blueberry balsamic vinegar, aged about 3 years which was quite lovely. As a tourist, this was a lovely experience & I'd highly recommend visiting!

Yelp
This store, located just off the highway in Grand Pré has a store as well as a wonderful garden. The store sells a selection of hand-crafted jelly, jam, chutney, mustard, vinegar and honey. We have bought many jars of their products over the years and have always enjoyed them. Apparently you can buy products online and have them shipped to you directly as well. The garden in back has a 5$ admission fee and is free for children under 12. There are sculptures, ponds, gardens and a variety of different plants, flowers, grasses and trees. It's very large and there are plenty of things to see. Very nice place to take photographs.

Yelp
Tangled Garden is located in The Farmers Market on Saturday. I first tried her wonderful jelly (Garlic Rosemary) several months ago. There are some fantastic flavors. I stopped by the booth and see that she has some liquors now I sampled the coffee flavor one, and also has a pear/vinegar for your salad. That looks good and I think it would be my next purchase.

Yelp
Truthfully, I fell in love with Tangled Garden herbed jellies and vinegars even when I was living in Toronto. Beverley - who is the awesome force behind it all, used to bring her jars and bottles to the One of a Kind Show every November. Her beautiful - and very Zen - herb gardens and maze are located just outside of Wolfville NS less than an hour from Halifax and well worth the drive. I particularly love a visit between June and October when herbs and vegetables are growing and flourishing. But if you can't make it out to Grand Pre, you can catch Beverley and her awesome delectables at the Halifax Saturday Farmers market. She'll be there with her beautiful smile and lots of jellies, and even herb liqueurs to taste and buy. Some of my favorite jellies - apple sage, and basil wine. They are delicious on a cracker, with cheese, or used as a glaze over fish and chicken.

Yelp
My first visit to the garden. I loved the gardens, the scents, and atmosphere. A lovely tea room in the gardens with some sweets to tickle the taste buds. What I didn't like was the shop keeper. He was not very pleasant and I felt like a bit of a nuisance to him. He had plenty of samples of jelly and liquors but he wasn't too interested in serving samples. Another huge issue to me is their debit machine is kept behind the counter where he taps your debit and credit card for you. Yes he does give you your receipt but I can't help but be a bit alarmed at this practice. Just my opinion.

Yelp
We've always picked up some of the Tangled Garden wares whenever she has a booth set up at a show or fair. We finally made a stop at her garden a few weeks ago on a trip to Wolfville. What a beautiful spot. Stepping into the shop kind of reminds me of what it might be like walking into a wizard's shop or hobbit home. You are surrounded by dried herbs & colourful oils, jellies & vinegars. I love her herb infused liquers and it's usually what I get. They are a great addition to some fancy cocktails or great over ice cream. This time we got a raspberry mint infused vinegar and it's so good it's all that's needed on a salad. We have never been disappointed with any of the products we've tried. The Tangled Garden is truly a hidden gem, though, being featured in the Spring issue of Martha Stewart Living magazine has let out the secret to the rest of the world.

Yelp
I always come here to stock up when im in the valley! I love that i walk in and im encased in hanging dried herbs and beautiful smells. I adore the people working here, they're so nice and helpful. I must of tasted everything they had to sample and when they didn't have something i wanted to sample open they opened one for me. I spent alot of money in here and it's worth every last penny, i hope they come to the one of a kind show in Toronto!!!

Yelp
Ah..., the magic of the Tangled Garden...We arrived for an Tangled Garden ice-cream after we visited the Port Pub (highly recommend) and had hiked Cape Split at the end of last week. (I had actually paid to use the Tangled Gardens as the back drop for an engagement shoot 3 years prior.) Thinking it was the perfect end to the day. We were met with a sign that said we had to pay $5.00 to walk through the gardens so we decided to take the ice-cream to go and forego the walk. The ice cream is in a 2oz container for $2.50 a piece and the best homemade ice-cream with real, fresh ingredients, leaving you wanting more. My suggestion is they serve baby waffle cones with two baby scoops as the whole beauty of licking an ice-cream cone while strolling mindlessly through the tangle would be perfect. Instead you are left licking fresh ingredients off a wooden stick from a plastic container. I would have also preferred if they let us walk through the gardens for free putting more of our money towards purchasing some of the beautiful products so elegantly displayed. Some real artistry goes in to these products and the kitchen is beautiful. But this is where it ends. Alas we did not get to enjoy the shop as...... I take a minute to quote "Every great business is built on friendship". ~ JC Penney "You are serving a customer, not a life sentence. Learn how to enjoy your work". ~ Laurie McIntosh The negative air that existed as we stepped into the shop with the presence of an older gentlemen shop keep who appeared out of no where was enough to make us not want to return. However we wanted that ice cream! We thought we must have walked in at closing time, this accounting for the shop keeps odd, negative unspoken behaviour, but we think he grunted 6 when we asked if he was closed, we were there at 5. He seemed so disinterested in us being in the shop he truly made it uncomfortable to explore the products. He seemed to be the owner but did not care enough that we were there, yet to old to be a staff member. We were very confused. We laughed that he had just chopped up the previous customer he was so blank. He seemed to reply in grunts. I tried to relay my Martha Stewart experience and the Tangled Garden he did not care. Almost bothered by the fact I was speaking. I then remembered this was the reason I had not returned from three years prior as both this man and the owner always appeared less then happy to engage with her customers. Flashback... Must have blocked the experience so perhaps the staff or owners are tortured artists at unrest with themselves. There is little sense of them appreciating the customers that are their bread and butter. They did not speak the day I did the photo shoot three years ago and the owner at the end of my session waited on me while I paid her for the use of the gardens and could barely crack a smile. I am not sure if the older shopkeep last week had just had news of a death or perhaps we interrupted his afternoon nap. I tried giving him the benefit of a bad day but this was bad. We were given the ice-cream, telling him I would like to pay with Debit. He then took my debit card and tapped it himself with out my permission instead of allowing me to enter my own pin number. Leading me to check my bank records when I arrived home. Weird ending to the day. I will give up the ice-cream the next drive through the valley (which happens often as the in laws live that way) at this stop as I had enough chills from who ever the shopkeep was that day to cool down. I would suggest venturing a little further to other local business owners who know how to say thank you for supporting local or at least crack a smile. I would suggest to the Tangled Garden they hire a young passionate student who has manners and a personality who could put a friendly face on what they are offering. And so I leave you with the words of Mahatma Gandhi and quote "A customer is the most important visitor on our premises, he is not dependent on us. We are dependent on him. He is not an interruption in our work. He is the purpose of it. He is not an outsider in our business. He is part of it. We are not doing him a favor by serving him. He is doing us a favor by giving us an opportunity to do so"
