I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience. While the property itself was decent and had potential for a comfortable stay and such a heritage and history of legendary stay it carries , the behavior of the caretaker left a sour taste. From the moment we arrived, the caretaker was dismissive and unwelcoming. Simple requests were met with curt replies, and there was a clear lack of courtesy throughout our stay. Hospitality is more than just cleadeserv, it’s about how guests are treated, and unfortunately, that was missing here. No parking space. Since it was 10 pm at night and we, including my son, very tired left us with opting to stay there. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and ensures that future guests are treated with the respect and warmth they deserve.

We had an excellent 3 night stay. The room was extremely clean and nice. I took two baths in the luxurious bathtub. The breakfasts were delicious. Both the hotel manager Rashid and kitchen manager Kumar went out of their way to make sure we were happy and helped us in any way we needed (arranging a driver, helping my husband when we wasn’t feeling well with preparing a dhal and a lemon drink). We thought the hotel was beautiful and an overall great stay.

Staying Tanjori Hi has been fantastic. This a botique hotel with lovely rooms, a very beautiful mixture of traditional and contemporary architechural design. The hotel is very close to the Marathi Palace and at a convenient, walking distance of the city centre. The personnel has been very kind and helped us with travelling recommendation. A great stay.

Great place. Loved the rooms and interiors. And felt like staying in a big castle. All rooms were really spacious and they have tried to bring out a unique style.

Near to Maratha place. 1.5 km to Brohadeshwar temple. They have renovated an old house excellantly to make a hygienic, traditional, elegant, accomodation. The interior look awesome with traditinal paintings, veena, doll,..service is good

We recently stayed at Tanjore Hi Hotel, and our experience was quite disappointing. The hotel is highly overpriced for the facilities they provide. The washrooms were not well-maintained, and they looked nothing like what was shown in the pictures. Proper upkeep is clearly lacking, which made our stay uncomfortable. Additionally, the cafeteria was closed, and they were not serving any food, which was very inconvenient. Overall, the hotel does not justify its pricing, and the lack of maintenance and services makes it a poor choice for travelers. Would not recommend.

stayed at Tanjore Hi Hotel with a few friends during the first week of June, and we were genuinely impressed. This place isn’t your typical hotel — it’s a beautifully restored heritage building with a fascinating past. Originally built in the 1920s by a local merchant family, the house has a rich history. It’s said to have hosted K. Kamaraj (former CM of Tamil Nadu) and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar back in the day. Later on, it even served as a girls’ hostel before the current owners took it over and gave it a whole new life. They’ve done a fantastic job restoring it — keeping the original charm intact while adding tasteful touches with the help of designers and consultants. The place has a quiet, classy vibe. The walls are filled with amazing black-and-white photographs by Frédéric Delangle, a French photographer, which gives the place an artsy, modern twist. Rooms are cozy and clean, with a lot of character — don’t expect standard hotel-room vibes here. The staff were super helpful and friendly, and the location is perfect, just a short walk or drive from Brihadeeswarar Temple and other key spots around Thanjavur. If you’re into history, architecture, or just like staying somewhere with a story to tell, this is a great pick. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Thanjavur.

Personally I felt I made mistake to choose the that room, no parking ,no tv , no buckets in the room. Not suitable to stay along with family
