We were in Sacramento for the day and wanted some bar b que. Did a google and found this place. You order at the bar and can sit inside or outside. We had the brisket and pulled pork and they were some of the best we have ever eaten. We had the cole slaw and mac and cheese for the sides and they were excellent. The mac and cheese was the best we have ever had at a restaurant

Google
Just downright fantastic food every single time I come here! Very consistent. And so many different flavors and made with love. I have to make it here minimal twice a month. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND TANK HOUSE for your go to BBQ and Beers night out!

I'll talk about the vibe first. Music was on point. The decor was nice inside and it was packed. To our surprise, they had a patio area with large tables, a TV and speakers to hear the music from inside. So that, was a win. This is the reason we stopped. The service was okay. The person who greeted us was great. Friendly, approachable and funny. He gave us our menu and gave us direction on where to go to order. The guy taking our order, he started off nice enough and then ended up being dry. Asked how we can get to the patio and didn't even bother to speak. Just pointed to the direction and we just had to figure it out. Now the food. We ordered the two meat combo, brisket and chicken. It came with two sides which we picked dirty mac and cheese and cornbread. This was super disappointing. The chicken was dry and tough. The skin felt like plastic when trying to cut into it and the seasoning was weak. The brisket, dry and hardly any flavor. The dirty mac and cheese and the cornbread saved the meal for me, since I couldn't eat the meats. Our family ordered the kale greens and again, it lacked seasoning. I don't see myself coming back but my wife and cousin didn't mind it. So, ultimately, it's all about the preference.

Google
3.5 stars - this place is smaller than it looks from the outside. It is a mix of bar and booth seating. They have a limited menu in which you can choose individual items or a meal. We got the meal with the brisket, ribs and side of collard greens and Mac and cheese. For drinks, we got a beer and a cider. The brisket was pretty good. The ribs were great. There is a BBQ place we love in San Diego, so we compare everything to that (Grand Ole BBQ ye asado). This brisket was decent but not as good as theirs. The ribs were far superior here. The beer and cider were good overall. The collard greens were more soggy than I would have liked. The Mac and cheese was good. The spicy sauce was VERY good, as was the sweet sauce. The tangy sauce was just ok. This is a good option for BBQ especially if you want the meats by themselves rather than being put into sandwiches or other dishes.

I used to live around the block but moved two years ago and haven’t been here in awhile. Food was equally delicious but both the portion has gotten smaller and the price has gone up. Bartenders are awesome and food was good. Included pic of my to-go loaded Mac ($14+)

We came to Tank House with a group of friends, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious—perfectly smoked meats, tasty sides, and everything was packed with flavor. The drinks were just as impressive, with a great selection of cocktails and local beers that paired perfectly with the food. On top of that, the prices were very reasonable, especially considering the quality and portion sizes. The atmosphere was lively and fun, and the staff was super friendly and welcoming. Whether you're out with friends or just craving some great BBQ, Tank House is definitely a must-visit spot in Sacramento. We’ll absolutely be back!

Google
OK look. I've been pretty disappointed with the BBQ offerings in the 916 for years. Y'all are doing it right. Best brisket around. Soft and tender but not falling apart. Fat was fully rendered and melts in your mouth. Ribs were perfect. Bite through tender but not falling off the bone. Pulled pork was satisfactory but not everyone's first choice. Wish I could have gotten the Midtown Chowdown but ordering first thing in the AM said it was sold out already but I could order everything separately? Will return to try other menu items!

Google
St. Paddy’s special corned beef sandwich and tater tots were our go to for the take out! Couldn’t decide on which BBQ sauce so tried them all, do not pick the spicy one if you cannot handle heat. Our service was pretty fast during the order process by the cashier and getting the order out by the server, so no complaints there. Only thing is food is a bit pricey but definitely delicious! Restaurant is nice to also dine in but we didn’t have that experience.

May S.

Yelp
The food is pretty delicious. The beef brisket is soft and tender but the baby back ribs are on the salty side. Do not order BBQ PLATTERS. You can get the same items with a cheaper price if you order individually. The bbq sauce is very spicy. I hope they can offer a sweet version. The service is a little slow but it's on point. You have to order at the cashier and the server will deliver the food to you. Overall, I love the experience.

Adriana L.

Yelp
Definitely an amazing place with amazing service Food was amazing and drinks were A+ The ambiance was amazing and I'm from Berkeley ca Thanks you for having me and me having - first good meal here for 2025

Yelp
Tank house was a last minute find. As we had a last minute Bday hosting obligation and were Midtown. One of the restaurants (Red Beret off J street) love this place recommended a Tank House BBQ platter. We took the suggestion and ran with it, it was around $100 plus which came with Ribs, chicken, hot links, pulled pork, whole bunch of bbq sauces and maybe other things I am forgetting. As a last minute bbq option spot on a Friday night, Well worth it... I would recommend and definitely come back for their bar drinks. Happy BBQ'ing

Yelp
What a treat. We walked in about 1pm on a Saturday afternoon. We were immediately greeted by the bartender. I ordered the half pound brisket and my wife ordered the pulled pork. Both were delicious. The meat was so tender we didn't need teeth. The brisket was very juicy and flavorful with a nice smoke ring around the edges. The pulled pork was equally good. We finished with coleslaw and greens. They were good, but i prefer traditional greens over these with kale. They had 3 different sauces to compliment the meat. 1 sweet, 1 spicy and 1 hot. I really liked the spicy and hot sauce. We've finally found our favorite barbecue in Sacramento. They also have a nice outdoor patio when the weather is nice. We'll be bringing the dog next time.

David R.

Yelp
We got the platter for 2 and it was perfect for the two of us! We chose 1/2 lb of pulled pork and briesket with Mac n cheese and corn bread to split between the two of us. We were provided with two BBQ sauces; sweet and tangy. I preferred the tangy on the pork and the sweet with the brisket. The mac n cheese was better than a lot of fancier places we've been too and enjoyed it. Good good and atmosphere.

Keylo P.

Yelp
One of those if you know you know spots. Been here multiple times and doesn't ever disappoint. The high quality meats to the wide selection of beer. When I bring my friends here is always a crowd pleaser. If you're in midtown area I highly recommend you stop by for a quick beer or a platter. Make sure to get their dirty tots!

David L.

Yelp
I don't know why there are so many bad reviews. I am always looking for a good BBQ spot. We went for an early dinner. They have inside and outdoor tables, but who wants to eat outside in this heat. You have to order from the bartender. They have a QR code but he has menus in front of the bar which makes it mor convenient. We ordered the 2 meat combo plate. I picked brisket which you can pick fatty or not and there is a mix which we did. So you get both fatty and regular. The fatty was the way to go , it was so yummy. I also got the ribs, which looked like we got more ribs than brisket. The ribs were great, Nice and juicy and loved them. The sides were onion rings and corn muffins. The onion rings were really good. Thin batter which I like and they tasted good. The corn muffin were a little dry and I wish they had honey to put on them. I guess I could of asked. Plus it need to be heated up to taste better. Overall we had a great meal. My wife and I had to take some of the ribs home. Definitely coming back. I want all the fatty brisket next time.

Robert R.

Yelp
Best smoked brisket in Sacramento award goes to this establishment. I order the fatty brisket everytime I come here, with the corn bread and tots. It is melt-in-your-mouth good! I always take friends here as well because it's a fun place to hang while grabbing a few drinks too. Will definitely be back and highly recommend for delicious bbq.

Joey C.

Yelp
Food is amazing!!!! Wings are and Mac and cheese is great!!! Drinks are great too. Can't go wrong here for some smoked brisket and great bbq.

Jacky P.

Yelp
Love tank house! The vibe here is always so chill and dimly lit. It's perfect when you want to get a late night meal and a drink and avoid the loud crowded bars in midtown. I always get the T-man sandwhich and it never disappoints. I drench it in the spicy bbq they provide and it adds all the best saucy flavor. The meat is never chewy, easy to take another bite without battling. And the tater tots, AMAZINGLY CRISPY! I also tried the watermelon frose, it was really refreshing for this heat and almost tasted like a sour watermelon. It was delicious!

Ken G.

Yelp
I'd been here once before, but it was nice to go back and enjoy some great BBQ. I had the following: -Brisket (lean) -Mac & Cheese -Cornbread Muffins I really appreciate that one can choose the kind of desired brisket cut - I went with "extra lean" and it was perfect: tender and flavorful, very juicy beef, with perfect smoky flavor. The mac & cheese was pretty good and I liked the cornbread muffins - the honey butter made them even more decadent. If you're in the area, definitely check out this spot - there's a good reason for its popularity.

Graham F.

Yelp
Came with 5 of us and got the Midtown Chowdown for us all. Service was fast and friendly. Food was incredible, will be back.

Joey Y.

Yelp
Had a really mixed experience with tanks. The goods: The dirty tots are simply amazing. Tot. Cheese sauce. Pulled pork. Hands down best on menu and worth trying alone. Brisket. Got a choice. I chose the fatty side. It was tender. Juicy. Fatty deliciousness. The decent - The bbq sauces - I liked the tangy spicy sauce. I don't really get sauce on side. Usually only eat sauce if that's how the chef cooks it. The bad - The ribs are absolutely terrible. Dry. Overcooked. Bland. Some of the pieces are tough. It's a real shame the ribs were so dry. Fix that and I could easily see this as 5 stars.

Yelp
We were there on Sunday afternoon May 19th and I can't believe the crap reviews I'm seeing from around that same weekend! Shared a Table for 1 with ribs and mac & cheese and a side of slaw. Ordered at the bar from a nice bartender, got our food in like ten minutes, it was hot and yummy! I must not be a BBQ expert (like lots of the reviewers seem to be) but I know good food when I taste it and the Mac & cheese was some of the best I've ever had. It didn't seem like any other patrons were unhappy while we were there!

Dyana B.

Yelp
It's so hard to find a place that we can find that's open late after getting off work. Tank House always comes through with the freshly smoked meats and delicious side dishes. That late at night, it feels more like a hometown bar where you can rest and reset after a long day. The service is quick and you're in and out quickly. Tank House always has rotating specials. Tonight, they were featuring their St. Paddy's specials with corned beef burgers, brisket stew, and specialty cocktails. We just had what was on tap but I would definitely try one of the Irish cocktails next time!

Libby G.

Yelp
I lived in Sac for 4 years and been waiting to try this place. When walking in, you can smell all the meats smoking. You need to order at the bar inside. Seating is pretty limited but didn't feel over crowded. Not sure if it was due to St Patrick's Day weekend at 6 pm on Saturday, but it took food an hour to come out The food was cold and wasn't that great. The sides weren't bad but wished they were warmed up. Maybe they are more know for their sandwich's or just sides. Ribs was one of the worst part of the meal

Brittany L.

Yelp
We have been several times and food is always awesome and great service. There is always this one guy- small to medium size with pretty eyes (lol I'm married but gotta call it out). He is very lively and upbeat. We usually do the two person meal with pork ribs and brisket. This time they had the Dino beef ribs so got that instead of pork ribs. We have also gotten the smoked wings which have a nice dry rub. Their ranch is bomb. We have brought several out of owners here and they always love it! Great dive bar/ saloon vibe. Let's okay outside. They have high chairs for our daughter. Definitely choose this place over urban roots. Food has been inconsistent there and portions are teeny. You'll pay a similar price here for a very hearty meal at Tank House.

paulette h.

Yelp
Amazing Bbq who would have thought. Customer service was very pleasant and very friendly. It's more of a bar than restaurant don't expect that kind of feeling. The brisket the wings the Mac & cheese we got the beast feast and meat treat the only think left was one rib and one piece of link . So GOOD!!

Yelp
We frequently stop here after the monthly opening at Viewpoint Gallery. The restaurant is small with both indoor and outdoor seating. There is a full bar and that's where you order. The food is brought to the table. They have an outdoor smoker and pit. When I walk by, I find the smell of BBQ always draws me in. The street parking has not been a problem. The bathrooms are clean. The people working here are friendly. I like the sort of divy atmosphere and the sound of the trains rumbling by. To me, the BBQ is just okay. It is good enough to have again. I am not a good judge of their brisket it is just not my favorite at a BBQ pit. I have only taken a bite. I usually have a side or order off the special blackboard menu. The cocktails are wonderful. The side menu upped the star rating from 3 to 4. The last time I was here I had a bowl of brisket ramen. I was amazed at how good it was. I would never have suspected I would like it as much as I did. The broth and everything that was in it was perfect. Even the brisket! I could not finish the bowl. I took it home and had another bowl and then I took the beef out and had a salad.

Yelp
I LOVE coming to Tank House. Food has always been great. Limited seating but worth the wait. They have great sauces as well. Chill place to hang out and watch baseball. Check this place out!

Craig Y.

Yelp
Been meaning to go here for years - literally. Every time I come to a convention in Sacramento I walk by here and it looks quaint and cozy and I love the smoker outside cooking meat. So for once I went in and ordered some food. I was so glad I did. Definitely will come back. If you're looking for some pretty decent BBQ in the Sacramento area, this is definitely worthwhile. FOOD: They are known for their brisket and tots and both are good. I like my brisket more fatty so it wasn't quite the best, but I would say most people would think it was excellent. The tots however were among the best I've had and the sauce for the brisket was quite good although the brisket really didn't need any. I'm definitely coming back. SERVICE: This was the best part. The women there were really nice and made you feel welcome. They took my order and offered me some water until the order came. The food was packaged well and stayed warm until I got back to the hotel. Great hiring! COST: Decent for the amount and the quality. This is a good place with great service and tasty food. I forgot to take pics because I was too busy eating it all.

Yelp
Had lunch here on a Saturday and enjoyed it! Street parking wasn't too hard to find, and service was fast and friendly. The restaurant was nice & clean. The staff were nice & also gave us recommendations as it was our first time there. We ordered the Meat Treat for 2 and got Baby Back Ribs, Brisket, Tater Tots, and Mac & Cheese. I enjoyed the flavors of everything! It was nice to have their different types of barbecue sauces. I wasn't too impressed by the ribs though, there wasn't too much meat on them so the bite wasn't satisfying, I wish it was just a little bit juicier. It was a nice meal to eat out but just a little expensive. I think there are a couple other BBQ places I'd like to try before returning here. Overall 3.5 stars.

Tim G.

Yelp
This little spot in Sacramento is a great place to get some awesome BBQ! Their smoker is on the side of the restaurant and the aroma is amazing! All of the smoked meats are great. Try a Beast Feast and split it with a friend! I have not tried the sandwiches yet but my last visit I was with a friend and his kids. They all had sandwiches and loved them! The staff is really friendly and service is fairly quick. You order at the bar and they bring your food to your table. The restaurant is somewhat small and tables can be scarce if you are visiting during a rush. Lots of craft beers as well as decent prices on canned beers. Definitely visit and enjoy the food!

Mary T.

Yelp
One star first of all. Many things to improve: Bartenders attitude - no Hello and Welcome! He is the sole person you order your food from. Food: Ribs - came at dinner time (early evening), baby back ribs were dried out. The two sauces were barely tolerable. The muffin was flat and flavorless. The food runner - brought one plate for two orders of food, and seemed upset when we politely asked for another plate. Also, the front door drags and makes noise that everyone can hear when folks come and go. Thumbs down experience!

Kevin L.

Yelp
This has to be the best bbq place in town! I've been here once and I will keep on coming back for their food! Also, the service was phenomenal! Worker was very nice and asked us questions of what kind of meat we like and prefer. I also like how they have BBQ sauce on the side and you can get them yourself. The ambiance of this place was pretty cool but the outdoor seating was perfect! Also, parking is only on the street but it was very easy to find parking!

Aneida R.

Yelp
If you are looking for local comfort food and some good bbq, look no further. The dirty tots and dirty Mac and cheese at Tank House are sooo good. I can't speak for the ribs or other meat because I always focus my attention on the tots and Mac. :)

Trice O.

Yelp
I forgot to take pictures but that's a good sign! Per a recommendation from a friend I tried this place for lunch today. The ambiance was meh (a bit dated) but the service and food compensated for the 80s wallpaper plastered along the walls. I ordered ribs with a side salad and baabayyy....the ribs were bussin'! I have a new favorite bbq place. That's it, that's the review.

Brandon M.

Yelp
Yum you downtown Sacramento and want some good BBQ check out Tank House..So fresh they are BBQ outside. Fast service and friendly people. The restaurant was very calm and clean first time here and definitely not last.Full bar and you can even eat outside yum yum..

Danielle C.

Yelp
Looking for a great space with amazing bbq? This is where you need to go. The food is always amazing and their specials are fantastic as well. If you are lucky enough to be here when they have their stew, I highly recommend it! If it's your first time, the classic dirty tots are a must! If you want to have a good share meal, the nachos fantastic. Overall, just enjoy slowly eating through the menu because it's that good. It's a must stop whenever I come home to visit.

Gurjot S.

Yelp
First time trying Tanks and I gotta say it wasn't bad! Vibes of the place were definitely nice and the staff was super friendly. They've got a bar with beers on draft and indoor/outdoor seating. We ordered the Meat Treat and Half Chicken. The highlight: Daddy's Hot BBQ Sauce - that sauce was so freaking good I could drink it and it was actually pretty spicy which was so nice. The Ribs and Brisket were pretty good and tasted even better with that sauce. The sides were also pretty nice - the coleslaw was fresh and tasted good and the tots were the perfect amount of crispy. The chicken was the only thing holding this place back from 5 stars. One piece of the chicken was perfectly cooked and delicious where as the rest of it left a bit to be desired and looked a little pink - I didn't get sick so I can't say it was undercooked it just looked a lil scary. My goto order (skip the chicken): 1 Meat Treat * Brisket *1/2&1/2* * Ribs * Tots * Slaw * Tangy BBQ Sauce * Daddy Hot BBQ Sauce (GET EXTRA OF THIS SAUCE)

Dre S.

Yelp
Great BBQ. It's hard not to come here every time I walk by and smell it cooking. You order at the counter, which is always quick. Get a bucket of beers and enjoy your smoked meats on their patio.

Mark Anthony P.

Yelp
Tank House BBQ & Bar | Sacramento 1. Table for One ~ beef brisket, ribs, sausages, with Union rings & tater tots 2. Beef brisket with Mac & cheese, cornbread For my BBQ lovers, this one is for you! Tank House BBQ & Bar is a family-owned restaurant located in Sacramento that serves local craft beers and delicious homemade BBQ items. A couple friends and I got our hands on their 'Table for One' which came with large slices of beef briskets, juicy marinated ribs, and two additional sides (onion rings & tater tots). We also ordered an additional two sausages as well. Another group decided to order their own and ordered beef brisket with a side of cornbread muffins and Mac & Cheese. From the service to the amazing food, I would rate this place a 10/10! I'm getting hungry from looking at the pictures. If you're ever craving authentic BBQ, go check out Tank House BBQ in Sacramento! Insta: @markanthonyfoodie

Yelp
This is a must try. Sacramento's always got its barbecue in check and this place always checks all the boxes. Portions are generous. Services as expected (nothing extremely special. Just courteous and moving us all merrily merrily down the barbecue stream) no hurry, no worry! The pulled pork is succulent. The brisket, not too dry, not too moist but just the right amount of smokiness. They might have downsized on the sauces, but the crispiness of the tater tots made up for it. The onion rings are perfect. The mac and cheese is perfect. The beer selection they have on hand has something for everybody, including some delicious cider. Eat inside or outside everybody's happy. On a side note, the bathrooms are clean and when I appeared into the kitchen coworkers were happy and the place was pretty clean.

Fiorella S.

Yelp
This place has a special place in my heart. I love the fast service, the vibe on a sunny day in the patio, and most importantly the smell of BBQ from the smoker. My staples here include the dirty Mac, dirty tots, and chicken wings!

Alanah M.

Yelp
Love this place! It smells great just walking past the restaurant. This place has one of the best late night menus in sac! Service is always quick, open late, and good prices! Don't leave without trying the dirty tots!!

Alex M.

Yelp
Very cool place. The quality of the meat is great. It is the perfect place to gather with friend eat a good trip tip and drink a refreshing beer. The service is always excellent and friendly .

Jasmin J.

Yelp
Quality BBQ in a dive bar vibe very interesting! My boyfriend and I went here for our first anniversary dinner because we heard the BBQ was good and we are always down to try new food spots. It was much more casual than I think I was expecting but the service was still good and the food delivered. We spilt a 2 meet plate and got the brisket and ribs. If you do not like fat make sure to mention that. The server warned us as he was taking our order. If you like bbq and bar vibes check them out.

Jose M.

Yelp
You know what. This place was very tasty. I took my friends here out of sheer curiosity and my craving for BBQ. We all enjoyed our food. I liked the Mac and Cheese and enjoyed my ribs. The sauces on the table were just right. The service was on point. All the staff were super friendly and enjoyable to hear from a far. The Ambiance was just right. I had a great time here. I will definitely go back again. :)

Markus R.

Yelp
The last time I came here was during the middle of the pandemic so there was only takeout available. This was my first time sitting down and eating a meal inside. The location is in midtown, almost on the border of downtown. It's in a house that got converted into a restaurant/bar, which adds to its unique rustic charm. This place feels more like a bar that just happens to have a restaurant. The interior feels like an old western saloon with cool pictures, old wall paper, and overall dark. The ambiance of the crowd that comes in here is great. It was packed when we were here so the inside was loud. You can tell that regulars come into the bar because they were all friendly with the staff. The staff was nice. They were very helpful and offered to clean our table multiple times and help us out in other ways since we had a large party here. The food came out decently fast for how much we ordered and how busy they were. Our only real gripe was that the air conditioning felt broken because it was HOT inside. I'm talking sweating as you sit to eat. I swear I looked at the thermostat on the wall and it said 86! Additionally, their little water fountain took FOREVER to fill a cup and the water was warm. The flavor of the food was great. I've been to other smokehouses so I am familiar with the genre. I'd say Tank house hits on par with Urban Roots or Roxie but a below Buckhorn's flavor for me. The meat was nice and warm, falls off the bone, VERY smokey, lightly salted but full of flavor. We had an array of meats from chicken and ribs to steak and pulled pork. BEWARE one of their BBQ sauces was so spicy that my tongue almost melted! The nachos were also good but spicy. I rather enjoyed the salad that it came with. Prices are expensive, be prepared to take out a second mortgage to eat here as a family. I guess the prices are par for a "premium" barbecue establishment. Don't expect to walk out of here under $100 for a party of 4+ people. The flavor almost makes up for the price I just wish it offered a bit more for the price. If I could give half stars I would because this places feels like a 3.5 star to me. I was leaning forwards 4 stars but I think the heat really just ruined our experience. Bottom line/TLDR: great smoke house but a bit hot inside and be careful with the spicy food

Janet P.

Yelp
The food portions are generous, we had the brisket, half rack ribs, greens, salad and onion rings. The ribs had a little too much bark, onion rings were the best I have had, thin batter, super crispy, and the greens were made with kale, good choice over collard greens. Definitely will be back.

Tommy The Yelper D.

Yelp
The meat at this place is quite good, but they give you twice as much as you can eat. I know restaurants do that to make more money but it's sort of a cheesy trick on people. And it's OK when you order to eat at home because you can save it for later, but if you're out for the evening, you don't want to carry leftovers around. also, they have very few sides in there too twice as much as you can eat. I would love the option of having half the meat with half the sides and be able to order three different things but there's no way I can eat all that food. The restaurant is quite small and a bit cluttered. And a huge turned down for me is when you have to order at the bar before you sit down.

John F.

Yelp
So good! Love the brisket and Mac and cheese. Adding the sauce just emphasizes how good the food is. If you want to just try it, I suggest a plate that you can pick the meats and sides to get the full experience.

Todd F.

Yelp
I Saw a FB post yesterday that Tank House was doing Dino Ribs today so I thought I'd give them a try since they are only a few blocks away from the office.. I got the $25 regular Dino (end cut) vs the $35 Extra cut (Middle cut) There was a lot of extra fat on the ends but the meat, flavor, moistness and smoke were spot on! I also order a side of Mac n Cheese $10 which I enjoyed because the pasta retained a lot of the cheesy yummy sauce.. I will have to get the Fatty Brisket on my next visit as this could be my next favorite BBQ place to go to!

Austin L.

Yelp
I would consider Tank House BBQ to be one of the better BBQ spots in Sacramento. We ordered the Meat Treat (plate for 2) with the brisket, pulled pork, tater tots, and greens. The brisket was slightly on the dry side but overall delicious. The pulled pork was great as well with small crispy bits which added to the texture. Definitely try their spicy BBQ sauce if you like spicy food. The tater tots were nice and crispy/fluffy, and the greens were actually pretty hearty as well. Overall, this was a perfect amount of food for 2 people. We came around 5pm on a weekday before the dinner rush, so we were easily able to find seating after ordering at the bar. There was a small delay in getting the food due to some technical difficulties, which was not an issue, and the bartender and employees were very nice and friendly. Inside was nice and cozy with a long bar and a series of wooden booth seats/ tables. We did not order any drinks, but some of the beer looked to be very fairly priced, and you can get a can for around $3-4. We are looking forward to returning to Tank House BBQ later in the night with some friends to just hang out and order a couple beers/ snacks.

K P.

Yelp
T-Man Sandwich with crispy tots. The food came out fast, add a little of their barbecue and it was great!

Athena C.

Yelp
We were stopping by Tank for takeout during Game 7, Warriors vs King and the service was quick and friendly. The bar is decorated with wood panel and seats and they have an outside seating area in the back. We ordered half and half briskets with all the BBQ sauces and they were good! But I do think the fatty brisket is better. So that is my mental note for next time. Their mac and cheese and tater tots were both delicious and not just a store-bought versions so we were very happy with it. The portion is quite generous too and I enjoyed the BBQ here. Their spicy BBQ sauce definitely has a kick!

Yelp
I've been to Tank House at least three different times and every time has been a pretty good experience! For seating, there is indoor and outdoor.. seat yourself. There really isn't a lot of seating inside, so on a busy day, you may have to wait a bit. It's all pretty much booth seating. When I drive there, I usually luck up and find street parking near by. Not sure if there are garages near by. You order at the bar (food and drinks), get a number, and they bring the food out to you. There is a self service water station near the bar where you order. I'm not sure how many bartenders there are, but each time I've visited, it was the same bartender and I love him. He is always so pleasant and attentive! Besides the bartender, service is not bad. It's not a "regular" restaurant where you have a server that checks up on you. If you need something, you'll have to get up and ask lol. I think this concept is not grasped by first timers.. so I can see why some of the reviews are lower starred. As far as food, the meat is f*ucking delicious. I've tried them all. Ribs.. brisket.. pulled pork.. the hot link..! My experience has been great for all of them. Super tender and delicious. I love their spicy BBQ sauce, so that definitely aids in the flavor. Honestly all of their bbq sauces are really good! Sides aren't too bad. I'm personally not a fan of their Mac n cheese. It's really lacking basic flavors. The dirty Mac wouldn't taste good without the pulled pork (or for me added bbq sauce) in my opinion. The greens are really sour / acidic and could use more diced hot links to aid in the flavor and give it a little kick. The smoked mozz bites were not hot and gooey like typical cheese sticks .. the cheese inside wasn't melted AT ALL. I'm not sure if that's how they're supposed to be, but if I ordered them again it would be takeout so I could go home and heat them up in my air fryer. Overall this is a place I love taking people! & the people that I have taken, request to go back! TOTALLY RECOMMEND!

Yelp
Stumbled by in the middle of the day, and wasn't expecting a full bar (should've read the name, I know). This is no issue, and we sat outside after ordering. We ordered a combo with brisket, ribs, Mac, and cornbread. The food is decent, but nothing mind blowing. Brisket was tender, but maybe a little too fatty for my liking (we asked for medium fatty/ lean). The ribs however, were pretty dry and tough, and had to be eaten with their sauces. Mac was fine, nothing outstanding, and cornbread was my winner of the day.

Yelp
It's been a while since I've been here so unfortunately forgot the specific cuts of meat I got (took a picture though hehe). The inside is very comfy and the folks are nice. However the meat was... average? What I mean by this is that the bbq itself was lacking in flavor. Felt like I had to use additional condiments/sauces they provide to really enjoy my meal. My food also came out lukewarm. It could be I'm being critical since my experience with bbq in Texas was so good everywhere. It's hard to find a good bbq joint in the sac area, but maybe this place could be for you. Overall 3/5 based off of my experience and my expectations for bbq. Maybe you'll enjoy it more than me!
