"Get Lost in the Rain Forest at Corinna Lodge Blow through Burnie to allow for more time in the woods. When the long stretch of highway turns bright white—it was built from silica rock—you’re almost to Corinna (from $180), a gold rush settlement turned ecolodge on the edge of the tarkine wilderness. Follow the trail from your cottage to see ancient huon pines or spot platypi while kayaking on Pieman River. In the likely event it rains, escape to the lodge’s Tannin restaurant for a rib-eye steak."

Great food in remote restaurant. My husband had the Smoked Salmon and Mushroom Risotto and I ordered the Fish of the Day, which was Pink Ling with fries and salad. The meals were delicious and the portions were generous. The wait staff were very friendly and created a warm welcoming atmosphere. The decor reflected the history of the area which gave an authentic feel. Booking was essential and the service was prompt. There was a bar area adjoining the restaurant and a small gift shop next to reception.

Unfortunately we didn't eat here. The menu looks fantastic and priced well. We did enjoy a couple ales on the nice verandah, people watching and overlooking the pieman river. We also grabbed a take-away beer to enjoy with our picnic overlooking the river. We plan to come back and stay for a couple of days at the village and enjoy more of what this amazing place has to offer.

Good food in a secluded place. S41°39'04.0"S E145°04'41.3" You have the possibility to prepare your meals in the kitchen of your self-contained cottage. The general store has some basic necessities. Otherwise, the Tannin restaurant is your only option, if you made a reservation to give them enough time to truck in their kitchen supplies. During our stay in February of 2020, we ordered mushroom risotto served with buttered pine nuts and shaved Parmesan cheese ($30). The taste of the Parmesan cheese dominated the delicate taste of the risotto, but the risotto itself was well prepared. The stewed lamb shank, served on a bed of cauliflower purée, potato fondant and vegetables with mint butter ($35), had enough time in the pan to make the meat nice and tender. Good taste and flavour. The pan-fried Atlantic salmon, from the salmon farms in Strahan’s Macquarie Harbour, was served on a bed of sweet paprika, rustic gnocchi and with dill hollandaise sauce ($32). This big chunk of salmon was fresh and tasted delicious. Truly a delicious Atlantic salmon near the Pacific/Indian Ocean. Sticky date pudding, served with butterscotch sauce, strawberries and ice cream ($15) was fortunately not so sticky. White Choc Panna Cotta Cup served with biscuit crumb, berry coulis, fresh berries and lemon balm (€15) tasted also fine. The menu was well explained and the service was attentive. No wrong attitude towards a captive audience without an alternative. The food was well prepared, large in portions, nicely presented and tasted well. Clearly a level above the Australian pub grub. Good work from the chef in his secluded kitchen. The service was good.

Got here just before 2pm and lunch is only served between 12 and 2pm, but when I asked I was assured it was still all good as long as I ordered before 2pm. The 'Corinna' burger was very tasty and would have been enough for two people. I also liked that it was more like a panini, was easier to eat that way. Great stop for lunch if you are coming past.

Had an absolutely delicious meal here (best hot chips in the whole of tas, it’s true) and super pleasant service from the sweet French couple working the dinner shift! Also quite delicious coffee the next morning! Super special and beautiful spot. Will be back!

No tassie beers on tap. The restaurant had such a cosy feel to it. We enjoyed reading the history around the walls inside.

The beef steak sandwich was an absolute legend! Pair it with one of the many outstanding Tassie craft beers on offer.

A lovely day out. Excellent coffees, then explored the area, and had lunch. Large serve, three shared steak sandwich, amazing chips! Very casual. Nicely done with old buildings and artifacts, well marked historical sites, and local native plant directory, so you can find the Huon Pine, for example, up close. Pleasant short or long walks and kayaking available. Locals supporting locals!
