I recently stayed at Tanoa Tusitala and overall, had a pleasant experience thanks to their exceptional staff. The workers were incredibly friendly, helpful, and often went above and beyond their duties, which made our stay much more enjoyable. A few staff members stood out with their service, making the experience memorable.
Our room was decent, and the air conditioning was a lifesaver in the tropical heat. Unfortunately, my mum’s room didn’t meet expectations. There was noticeable mould on the ceiling, and the air conditioning wasn’t functioning properly—it only blew air rather than cooling the room. My sister’s room was better, but the air conditioning was still a letdown as it wasn’t strong enough.
The breakfast was okay, though the variety was limited and repetitive. However, on the days when bacon and koko laisa were served, it was a treat! The food and drinks were overpriced, which was disappointing.
The pool area was a mix of pros and cons. It would have been great to have a cold pool, as the current one didn’t offer much relief from the heat, the pool floor needs urgent repairs—its cracked cement caused scrapes on my kids’ feet and mine multiple times.
Despite these issues, the hotel’s family-friendly environment and the staff’s excellent service made the stay worthwhile. I would stay here again and hope that some of the areas for improvement, such as room maintenance and pool repairs, are addressed in the future.
