Tao Dan Park

A beautiful green park in the middle of the busy city. Tao Dan Park is very peaceful, clean, and full of tall trees and interesting sculptures. It’s a great place to walk, relax, and take a break from the noise of the city. Definitely worth visiting while exploring Ho Chi Minh City.

Tao Dan Park, an oasis in the middle of the city, is beautifully landscaped for Tet. The park also contains the Đền Tưởng niệm các Vua Hùng shrine (which literally translates to The Temple of the Hung Kings). The Hung Kings ruled parts of Vietnam from 2879 BC to 258 BC. This long running dynasty is revered and credited with laying the foundations of the modern country by resisting foreign invasions. It was a nice way to spend part of our first day here in Ho Chi Minh City.

Tao Dan Park – A Green Oasis in the Heart of Ho Chi Minh City Tao Dan Park is one of the oldest and most popular public parks in Ho Chi Minh City, The park is filled with tall, mature trees that provide ample shade throughout the day, making it a pleasant place to visit even during warmer hours. Well-maintained walking paths run through the park, suitable for strolling, jogging, or simply enjoying a slow walk while observing local daily life. Inside the park, there are playground areas for children, open spaces for picnics, and small sculptures scattered throughout the grounds. The park is generally clean and peaceful, despite being located in the city center. A beautiful park, more botanical gardens than the offical botanical gardens. Met a lovely man that was feeding chipmunks and squirrels which was a highlight as never had seen them as they don't live in Aotearoa New Zealand. Lots of kids doing activities like Scouts which was nice to see. Not allowed to walk on grass which is different to home parks.

As much as I know, it's generally free to visit except during Tet. I visit there just right before Tet which it showed flower decorations all across the park. It looked wonderful. I paid 60K dong to enter. Though, there's nothing else to do.

This is park where you can relax and connect with the nature. Also you can buy some products from the local artisans, eat, have a drink or enjoy an ice cream. It is a great spot for photos.

Since it's on some "What to do during Têt" itineraries, you can't find information online that there's a 60.000 Dong entrance fee, but it's 100% worth it! Such a lovely atmosphere, entertainment, music acts, stunning flower arrangements and food vendors without any "Têt surcharge". I had a wonderful evening

A big park in the middle of the city. I was there during the Chinese New Year, and there's a competition of Vietnamese bonsai. There's a shrine in the middle. Entrance fee is 60k VND. The route goes through the park to the other side, and there are many entry points.
