This is a must visit!!
We stayed at Tao Thong Villa 2 for 8 days and it felt like home. The food, views and hospitality were outstanding!
The remote location felt inaccessible to us via moped because of the insane hills but it gave us a secluded corner of paradise. We walked to the pier and into town through a jungle path around the edge of the island. We also did a walk in the opposite direction to Chalok Ban. Both were not the most accessible but was a fun adventure. All of the snorkeling tours provided pick up and drop off included to the resort. The hill down to the resort is steep, as are the steps up to some of the rooms.
The room was exceptionally clean and free of ants (which every other accommodation had), there was a fridge, comfy bed, a large bathroom with a washing line and balcony off the bedroom. We couldn't have been closer to the sea.
On our first night there, a turtle came ashore to give birth and it was magical. We watched for hours from the balcony as she lay tens of eggs.
Because of the remote location, we ate most of our meals at the restaurant. The shakes were delicious! The coffee one surpassed any frap you've ever had and the lemon one was so zesty and refreshing. The curries were some of the best Thai food we had in the whole 5 weeks there. The vegetarian yellow curry, especially, was so spicy and delicious!! The crinkle chips are sublime. The omelette sandwich was so tasty too.
Wilai, the owner of Villa 2, was so friendly and accommodating. We think of her in her tie dye outfits often. It was such a nice family run resort. We even saw the milky way.
The food alone is worth visiting for, spice lovers need to try the yellow curry and a shake.
