The bungalow has a nice view, the bed is also comfy, unfortunately the pillows are a bit too thick, I got neck pain. The room has no air conditioning but 2 fans instead, which is more than enough. We turned them even off in the night, because it was too cold. The water has somehow a high chlorine level, sometimes it burns in your eyes. They have Kajak rental and free of charge snorkeling gear. It one of the best areas on this island, the beach is stunning.

STAY AWAY If i could give this place zero stars I would. I really wanted to be kind because I know people are just trying to make a living, but they went too far. My friends and I only stayed 1 night here before we had to leave. Let's get the positives out of the way: Beautiful views and good food. Now for the negatives: Disgustig dirty rooms. Ants crawling everywhere, the rooms weren't cleaned (food and dirty clumps of hair) so the ant problem was even worse. Big cockroaches on the beds and pillows. A door that doesn't close all the way even when locked. A shower drain that doesn't work, so the whole bathroom floods every time you shower. Not necessarily a negative, but it's in the middle of nowhere, so the only choice for transport if you don't ride a scooter is to use their overpriced taxi services. The beaches are rocky and full of dead coral, and the snorkeling gear is dirty. There's no free water or towels. Now for the staff. They upcharged my friend for water, they demanded a 500baht deposit and then tried to give my friend 300baht when she returned the key, they're not upfront about the price of the food, and when we tried to talk to them about the ant problem they gave a non-answer and feigned ignorance. Additionally, when we got to iur new hotel my friends unpacked and found that their bags were crawling with ant infestations after only 1 night there. The final cherry on top is what made me write this review. As we had packed and left in a hurry, I had forgotten my reusable waterbottle in the room's minifridge. Once I realized, I texted them, letting them know I'd be back to pick it up in the morning. They say ok and that they havent touched the room yet. I jog the entire 40-minute trek there and go up to get the bottle. Lo and behold, it's not there. The sheets on the beds are removed though, so I know someone's been there. I call my friend back at the hotel and ask her to double check its not in my bag. It isn't. I confront the Villa staff about my water bottle, showing them a picture of it and telling them I'm 100% sure I left it there. Once again, they feign ignorance. To be blunt, I'm certain they stole it or threw it out. As we left the day before, we were nothing but kind and respectful, so I'm really confused about why they'd do that. Disappointed because this place has so much potential to be something great, but unfortunately its rundown and owned by scammers.

We had an amazing time here! We stayed for four nights and used the restaurant numerous times, tried most of the menu and didn’t have a single bad meal. All the staff and owners were so accommodating and helpful organising taxis. The beach and views are unbeatable, and with provided snorkelling and kayaking, we hardly a reason to leave! Our room was clean and comfortable and often visited by Woody🐾 Would highly recommend:))))

Absolute paradise within an extremely reasonable budget! We stayed here for 4 nights and loved it. We would definitely come back. For snorkelers, the bay in front of the hotel may be the best snorkeling spot in all of Koh Tao and we tried a lot of different beaches! Our bungalow (#4) had a perfect view of the sunset and because the hotel is located away from the main pier area, the sky is full of stars and the surrounding area so peaceful. We even saw bioluminescent plankton at the shore of the hotel’s beach! Extra note on the room: the room is a bit tight, only has one electricity plug and the shower has no hot water. We still give it a 5 star rating because the quality-price ratio is just too good! Extra note on the location: the hotel is a bit hard to get to (you need to drive over a few steep hills) and is not really a walkable distance from the main pier area. We would advise getting a scooter but drive carefully! We had no issues with the hills, even when driving in rain 🛵🌧️

This is a must visit!! We stayed at Tao Thong Villa 2 for 8 days and it felt like home. The food, views and hospitality were outstanding! The remote location felt inaccessible to us via moped because of the insane hills but it gave us a secluded corner of paradise. We walked to the pier and into town through a jungle path around the edge of the island. We also did a walk in the opposite direction to Chalok Ban. Both were not the most accessible but was a fun adventure. All of the snorkeling tours provided pick up and drop off included to the resort. The hill down to the resort is steep, as are the steps up to some of the rooms. The room was exceptionally clean and free of ants (which every other accommodation had), there was a fridge, comfy bed, a large bathroom with a washing line and balcony off the bedroom. We couldn't have been closer to the sea. On our first night there, a turtle came ashore to give birth and it was magical. We watched for hours from the balcony as she lay tens of eggs. Because of the remote location, we ate most of our meals at the restaurant. The shakes were delicious! The coffee one surpassed any frap you've ever had and the lemon one was so zesty and refreshing. The curries were some of the best Thai food we had in the whole 5 weeks there. The vegetarian yellow curry, especially, was so spicy and delicious!! The crinkle chips are sublime. The omelette sandwich was so tasty too. Wilai, the owner of Villa 2, was so friendly and accommodating. We think of her in her tie dye outfits often. It was such a nice family run resort. We even saw the milky way. The food alone is worth visiting for, spice lovers need to try the yellow curry and a shake.

Absolut Paradies. I can't even believe the price of this place is so cheap. The staff is so lovely and helpful. You can rent great snorkel equipment for 50 baht and keep it for 24 hours. The room is perfect nice cozy bed and the views are out of this world. Best part is that there is very few people which makes it a great spot to snorkel.

We stayed here for 3 days, a very nice place if looking for a nice place to have a relaxing time while in Koh Tao this is the place. The only thing for us was it was pretty far from everything. We had to get a taxi everytime we wanted to go somewhere. Only if you rent a bike which is 300 baht per day but if you have never ridden a bike, this is not the place to first drive one, there is so many hills which is very dangerous. Overall we had a great time I’d say at Tao Thong Villa 2, there is a little beach you can snorkel at right in front of the restaurant. You can just borrow snorkel gear for free for however long you want and you can see lots of cool fish but unfortunately no turtles or baby sharks at least while we were there. Vegan food was quite good actually at there restaurant. We got the pineapple fried rice with tofu and no egg which we ate like 6 times while we were there because it was just soo good.

I really like Tao Thong Villa 2, and Wilai is very kind and nice. I came here three times and was impressed so much. It’s very quiet, peaceful, and gives me positive energy. If you're looking for hidden gems, I recommend Tao Thing Villa 2.
