I LOVE the Tap Room! What an incredible neighborhood bar where everyone is on a first name basis. I was in for my first time today and Tiffany and the owner make you feel like a regular and family. The owner even bought me a shot of some high end whiskey he just got in. Love this place and will most definitely be back!

They changed their burger menu and fries and I take issue with that. Used to be a 5 star grub joint, now I'd just come back for drinks. Bring back the bacon blue and stop skimping on the fries, they used to give you a heap of fries tossed in seasoning, and a burger you could barely fit in your mouth, instead I left still feeling hungry.

Visited on a Friday at 9:30 PM. Was quiet and tamed. Large selection of liquor and bottled/canned beer. About a dozen draft options. Didn't eat anything, just drank. Quite average and unremarkable experience, given it was New Year's Eve and during a pandemic.

Bartender was freaking awesome. The patio is well kept and people like to bring their dogs, which is pretty cool. Their burgers were very good. I enjoyed the garlic burger, and my buddy loved the Buffalo burger.

Service is en pointe, always friendly and attentive. Good product selection and beautiful patio. The only problem is that the speakers are ALL subs and zero high-end. What’s the point of paying for a song with a sick guitar solo if I can’t hear the guitar for shit?

We love coming here and sitting outside! The staff is great and their fries are crispy, what more can you ask for. Proud to be a regular here.

Best local hangout ever! Lots of Whiskey, Bourbon & Scotch plus the coolest bartenders and some really great locals and delicious local beers! Bingo, Darts & Trivia Game nights!!!

Stopped in for some drinks and had a Cosmo along with a couple of margaritas. Everything was delicious! great flavor, smooth, and not overly strong. The vibe was fun and relaxing, and the drinks were exactly what I was looking for. I'll definitely be coming back!

Cool. Small. Patio. Laid back. Incredible scotch and whisky selection for fair prices. Food is good but anything with their chili verde is great.

Low key spot to grab some drinks. Small patio that allows dogs. There's darts and one pool table. This location is closing soon and moving to where Trolly Wing company was in Sugarhouse.

Another fun night at the Tap Room!! Shared onion rings, fries and a club sandwich with friends! Fantastic drinks! Nice gin and tonic! Bartender made me a fun lemony vodka drink! Topped it off with a peanut butter whiskey! Nice place to chill on a Friday night, or any night!

Great place to hang out And the food is really good. They make fresh taquitos (rolled tacos) not frozen. They have a dinner special every week and the cheapest specialty whiskey shots. Love the patio, it's quiet and shaded. It appears the bartender who was over charging the credit cards no longer works there and hasn't for awhile. Haven't had issues with using my card in a long time

I went on st pattys and had the corned beef tacos . I liked them enough that if they were a regular menu item I would have them quite frequently.

Great service in a fun and friendly atmosphere with great food and a wide variety of adult beverages makes Tap Room my favorite bar in Salt Lake.

I'm extolling the virtues of the Tap Room again because it is a real bar. The Tap Room isn't about advanced mixology. The TR isn't a place to bring clients or friends from out of town to impress them with the supposedly new Salt Lake City. The TR is a place to drink. The TR is a place to unwind in a non judgmental environment. The TR doesn't care. You wanna talk, talk. You wanna shut up, shut up. You wanna look like a slob, look like a slob. You wanna dress pretentious, dress pretentious. You wanna wear a suit, wear a suit. You wanna be Republican, be Republican. You wanna be liberal, be liberal. The TR doesn't care. Drinks and beer are cheap, service good, and even sometimes friendly, but I tip well. The Tap Room is the perfect place for an all day Friday drinkathon, It makes Uber indispensable. The Tap Room is the quintessential bar. Bravo!

I have never been so rudely treated by bartenders and many of the clientele in any bar in my life. For the record,I lived in Vegas for 20 years and patronized hotel/casino bars and bars for locals.I have patronized bars in SLC for many years. How does a bar stay open where some of the bartenders scream and yell at the customers, where virtually all of the bartenders act as if you, the customer, have to please them and not vice versa, where the old time customers act as if they are running the place and bartenders will literally kick people off a stool out of a table if one of the o "old" well known customers drops in. ( To be clear, this has nothing to do with someone having a reservation. In a place like this, nobody has a reservation.) Bars that that treat customers,particularly new customers, like this place do not deserve to stay in business.

We went for Bingo night on Monday. Loved how cheap the drinks were. The big o host was very slow, but this is not the bar's fault. I would definitely come back. The fries looked tasty!

This little bar has 2 rooms: 1 bar area and game room. The game room consists of 1 pool table ($1.00/game) a pinball machine ($0.50/game or $2.00 for 5 games) and 2 dart boards. The music is so low that you can barely hear it. The noise is from other people's weird conversations. Plenty of places to sit and pretty spacious. Servers are friendly and come by to take our drink orders pretty frequently. Drinks are fairly cheap too! Finding the place is a little tricky but it is on the south side of the building of Even Stevens.

Tiffy is amazing and she is so welcoming and friendly! Love that! Best place in Sugarhouse, UT! Check it out for laid back vibes!

I used to love this place but the bartenders frequently have run my card for other peoples tabs and 3 times too many... Avoid this place!

This was one of the first bars I ever went to when I first moved here. It was in that little crowded shack next to fats so it's fitting to be my 100th review. I've seen the sign for the new location and decided to finally check it out. The staff is still friendly as ever and I must admit the patrons kick ass as well. Everyone there was great, the random conversations were fun and the regular drunkards were professionals. By that I mean they were happy and friendly, no BS just good ole happy drunks like myself. So yeah a great crowd that genuinely loves this place. One of the longtime patrons that I was speaking with genuinely felt sad that since the move the crowd has tapered off, and when the patrons have love - you're doing something right. So if any other locals want to get together for a beer, hit me up. Lastly, decent rum selection (always could be better) and cheap pints.

Modern day Cheers! Everyone legit knows everyone's name in this place. I went for the first time a week or so ago, and was met with such hospitality from everyone in this place. After shift change, the bartender bought me a drink, then posted up at the bar enjoying his time off. You do not see that too often these days where they aren't running out the door! I walk in a couple of days later and was greeted with waves, hugs, then the typical catch up - it was amazing. If you haven't been here try it. Also, Vietnamese food from the store right in front of this place is SO GOOD, so grab a to go curry sandwich and walk in to the tap room, eat your food and have a drink. Or order from Even Stevens, they will drop your food off to you. Either way, come to this bar and be nice to everyone in here if you don't require a fancy cocktail.

They have a lot of selection and Tiffy really made our experience as good as it was. The hostess for trivia was very rude and we didn't get a lot of service other than from Tiffy. She seriously is amazing. Otherwise, this bar left a lot to be desired. It's a shame after reading all of the good reviews.

C'mon now. This was a highlight of our last trip to Sugar House three years ago. Such a sad place this time around we left before we finished our beer. Oh, by the way, they were not the beers we actually ordered.

Bartenders work hard and are very friendly. Good beer selection and great booze selection. You can drink on the cheap or have a glass of nice scotch. Great patio, enclosed so you don't feel like you're in the middle of a parking lot. There's always a crowd of regulars and first timers. The regulars have always been friendly and welcoming to me (then I became one I guess). If you feel the "regulars" aren't friendly, maybe they're not actually regulars, or maybe they're just not super-outgoing. But they're good folks. It smells really good in there, like a summertime barbecue. One pool table, one pinball machine, darts, TouchTunes jukebox, bingo on Mondays which is free and really fun and has cool prizes. Geeks Who Drink quiz on Wednesdays which is free and really fun and has cool prizes as well. Oh also the old neon sign inside is the coolest. It's over 70 years old I think.

It you come in expecting a hipster bar or something a bit more fancy, you'll be disappointed. The Tap Room is your basic neighborhood bar. I've usually come in the late afternoon with co-workers and it's a nice spot that isn't loud and you can enjoy a drink and talk! The carry a lot of local beers and spirits! For drinks and something mellow, I'd recommend this spot!

This is our favorite hang out place after my boyfriend gets a tattoo done over at yellow rose! Bartenders are always great. It's not too loud so you can visit. It's always super chill.

This is hands down the greatest dive bar in Salt Lake. Great bar, great beer, great whiskey, great staff. Would recommend

Came here for trivia night. Will probably come back for trivia night, but only trivia night. There wasn't a ton of seating so we had to stand for the beginning. There was room for more seats but there weren't tables. Also trivia could only be heard from a close distance. Even being in the same room it was hard to hear and understand him. Luckily, there was a server who brought a small table from outside and moved some things around so that we could have a table, definitely made the bar a lot more favorable as we probably would have just left pretty quickly. Beer is pretty decently priced and it's nice that you can order food from Even Stevens next door.

Back in the day, when the TR was a little tavern in a small A-frame located in the very heart of Sugarhouse, we all loved hanging out there after work (or during work), because it was a friendly neighborhood tavern with a welcoming atmosphere. Twenty years later, the Tap Room has relocated a few times, but has managed to remain a fixture in the Sugarhouse district. The atmosphere hasn't changed much; they now serve spirits at reasonable prices and seem to have managed to preserve the ambience that made them a deserving destination for those of us who are looking for a place to call home away from home.

I must give the Tap Room 5 stars! Due to the fact that , there exists no better section of Whiskey! I could leave my comment at that alone. But the biggest reason to visit the Tap Room is for the staff. The best crew ever! Always made me feel welcome! If you're looking for a watering hole in SLC. Ya better stop in to the Tap Room ! This place is so chill and fun! I really enjoyed coming here. The staff are super friendly and laid-back. Drinks were cheap and delicious! I also loved hanging out on the outdoor patio. It also wasn't too busy so it was super relaxing. I will definitely be back!

Being new to Salt Lake City, I was unfamiliar with the old location for this fine little pub. I see it while driving all the time, and have wanted to see the inside. Today was that day. I sat down at the bar and found the people who frequent the place to be very friendly and very welcoming. My type of place. Not the biggest bar in the world , but what it lacks in size it makes up for inexpensive liquor and friendly customers. I'm sure I will be back. It's very close to our house. And it's one of the few places that actually has Bulleit, my favorite bourbon. Both kinds. The Bourbon aka Frontier Whiskey... and their rye whiskey which is quite tasty as well. I think the outdoor seating area is quaint. It might be a good place to go on a cool summer night. Well done.

I like this place as it has a very local vibe with quite a few "regulars" and it is very toned down. They have a good sized bar with a row of 4 tv's over it, as well as some pool tables and another tv in the larger room. Even on a "busy" night at Tap Room, it still doesn't feel that crowded compared to many of the other bars around. They do breaking bingo (Monday) and geeks who drink trivia (Wednesday), and those are both fun nights to go and relax and chat with friends and the friendly people who come here. It is mostly an older crowd, but not exclusively, which is just the kind of vibe I enjoy. The service has always been good here, and again, it's a small bar so you aren't really ever waiting for anything. Everyone has their own personal preferences for what a bar should be of course. Some like it wild, loud and crazy, but I prefer the Tap Room.

Hands down my favorite (non-dive) bar in SLC. Laura is the best bartender to have yell at you! The entire staff is great! Clean, delicious food, reasonably priced. Great crowd and events/activities. 10/10 would blackout here again!

Top Notch! The tap room has a wide range of prices to fit your wallet, and the service will not disappoint! Very personable, and attentive. Great place to meet with friends.

Bartender was nice. However drinks were gross. I received a warm apple-tini and a bloody Mary that tasted like all worcestershire sauce. Definitely will not be returning.

It's a cool place but it seems like bartenders were quite rude from the beginning. It was my first time out in SLC and I wasn't impressed with service. Seems like they hate their job and just seem angry. Definetely not coming back

It's not fancy by any means, some might even consider it to be a bit of a dive but I love it. They have an excellent selection of spirits at fair prices. It's my favorite place to chill with a few friends while enjoying some scotch and a beer. Especially when the weather is nice enough to enjoy the patio! The bartenders have always been very friendly with me and the crowd is usually a good mix of people of all ages.

This bar is not what it use to be. The old location much better. The crowd has changed. Rude bartenders. Drinks have gone up in price.. it's almost never busy even on a sat night. Same old crowd and drunks week after week. Go to campfire lounge. Much better everything..by far! The tap room sucks!!

I've been drawn back to the Tap Room again and again. Ever since my teen years at TR 1. Now we are on the third edition, TR-3, and enjoying the refinements that have been made over these last forty odd years. Like good scotch, the TR has improved with age !

Greeted by an instantly rude bartender with zero people skills. Half of our party left immediately. Decided to stick around and play some pool but the drinks were overpriced and the crowd was old and crotchety. I don't know why anyone would choose to come here over the many other great bars in sugarhouse. I would avoid this place if you are in the area.

A friend and I had really poor service from a bartender. Ruined the experience for me. Save yourself some grief and go to a good bar in Sugarhouse - there are plenty nearby that are far better.

So I wasn't sure about these guys relocating to another spot in Sugarhouse? Because I loved the feel of the basement bar of the old spot. But after stopping by again and trying it out. I was very happy they kept the same feel to the place. Same prices and as an added bonus a better patio in my opinion. As always the staff is friendly and fast at getting your drinks to you.

A Sugarhouse fixture. Great crowd and fantastic bartenders. The kitchen is fantastic as well. Get the dry rub wings.

I hate to even review this place, for fear it may get crowded. But I'll take a chance on the cat getting out of the bag, and sing the Tap Room's praises. This bar is in an unlikely location...the old Este pizza place. As a result the crowd is pretty small and pretty chill. I prefer small crowds, but even with a few more folks this bar is great. Its a little divey, but nice enough to please your more demanding friends. The service is friendly, the drinks are cheep, and the patio is AWESOME. I am a sucker for a good patio and the Tap Room totally succeeds in creating a fun outdoor atmosphere. Skip the more crowded campfire lounge, or strange layout of sugarhouse pub and give the tap room a try. It seems to have the right balance of a nice but divey laid back bar.

An excellent place. I hear the pub quiz is pretty sweet on Wednesdays. And those bartenders!

The tap room has a great scotch and whiskey list. The prices are fair, especially for Utah. Personally I'm a big fan of Laura and Garrett, but all the bartenders here do a pretty great job. The simplest way to say it would be fair prices, good booze, and great staff.

Decent beer selection, friendly service, solid dive bar. It wouldn't be my go-to place (the regulars are a little too...regulary?), but it's fine for a drink or two.

Great Little Neighborhood Bar. they recently opened up another side to this bar with a pool table. they have an outside patio that is great during the summer to get out of the heat and cool off in the shade. the drinks are reasonable and they have GUINNESS on TAP ya i'm happy with that. "Just ED" and "Tiff" are great Bartenders. this place has kind of an older crowd that comes here regularly but those old kids are pretty entertaining. if you're looking for a good quality bar and great staff this is your place :)

My favorite sugarhouse bar! The bartenders are super friendly and always make sure you have a drink in front of you. It always has a mellow feel even when it's busy.

Not impressed. Waited over an hour at a table with no service. Was then generally ignored at the bar, while the "regulars" made fun of me for being out for a date night. I can find a great selection of beer and whiskey at my house. You go out for atmosphere and service. Both were horrible. I won't be returning.

I love the new location if the Tap Room it is better than the old one. The patio area is very nice! I am glad that they are putting in a full kitchen. They also have good priced beers and liquor. I look forward to going here again!

We went here for Geeks Who Drink last night. I am motivated to yelp about this because of the service. I found the bar to be welcoming and comfortable, not pretentious like I was expecting. The bartender was genuine and quick even though he was all alone. The quizmaster was entertaining and patient, though my group asked him to repeat a MILLION questions. Thank you tap room, for a great night!
