I absolutely LOVED coming here growing up and decided to stop by for lunch recently and was super excited to see they now have birria tacos! We were able to sit at a booth right when we walked in. Waitress was quick to bring chips, salsa and to get our order. The food was great!! Birria was delicious and the consomé was rich. Burritos El Patron was also ordered and was enjoyed! Cheese dip, chips and salsas were also delicious and all were gone shortly after getting to the table For dessert, we ordered both the vanilla and strawberry tres leches cake slices. Out of both, we preferred the vanilla but each was enjoyed and not a crumb left. This was a great lunch break and we will be back again!

Google
This place has great tacos and great service! Their chips and salsa that come with each meal are fresh. I’ve only gotten their tacos off the menu and have thoroughly enjoyed them each time- no need for any other toppings besides the classics!

Google
recommended by a friend and the food was terrific. I had the gorditas; 1 steak, 1 chicken. Waitress was hard to understand and it was difficult to tell if she understood us until the food came out, but our drinks were never empty; and She had an easy smile and seemed very pleasant. I highly recommend anyone to stop in for a bite as I will definitely be a repeat customer!😋🌮🌯💃

Google
Cheap spot, waiter bugged me until I was ready to order then the burritos we ordered came out with almost no beans and lots of lettuce. Flavor was mediocre for everything except the salsa and chips. Horchata was too sweet and not rich enough. I do no recommend this place unless you’re low on money in which case it’s quite inexpensive. We spent $26 on a drink and two burritos.

Google
If I could give them 0 stars I would omge. I had hair in EVERY single last one of my dishes ! My cheese had hair my tacos hair hair and my rice had hair in it , I had to complain 3 separate times about this. And then when my food came back out because they had to remake it, was cold. I didn’t eat hardly any of my food and by hardly I mean I bit into my taco and was disgusted so I stopped eating and my whole meal was left. They then tried to make me pay for my hairy food 😭 ABSOLUTELY NOT.

Google
Coming from Brooklyn, NY and being mixed ethnicity myself, I wasn't sure what to expect for Hispanic style food in Augusta but this spot is okaaay. Cleanliness was not the greatest, Service was alright and the Food was decent. Tho the price point was great for the amount of food you get. The Papas Locas was on point. Sopa and Tacos were a little dry and under seasoned but the Gordita and Birria was alright. Disappointingly both salsa's (verde and roja picante) weren't hot. At. All. Not sure if I'll come back but it's a good spot to satisfy a craving.

Google
The food overall tastes good and authentic. Only the flan was a little disappointing. But other than that it was all good. Servers don’t speak English as much. But get by with what you want to order and everything was served quickly and was tasty.

Google
I have been coming here for many years and I have always been happy with the food, service and atmosphere of Taqueria. Before my grandfather passed away, the manager would always come by and speak to him and ask him how he has been. The owners of this place really care and serve fantastic food. 10/10 Best place in Augusta to eat.

Yelp
This is the place to go for some guaranteed good Mexican food. I came here specifically for the sopes which were excellent. I love their abundant meat options, which are basically any meat and style you can think of. Their elote/esquite was ok and i think probably very authentic, but i prefer the (undoubtedly less authentic) version where it's just a little bit of corn in a huge cup of mayo. The service is amazing. They are so nice, and when our little one was having a rough time the waitress came over and tried playing with him and helping out. Every time a server would pass by they'd stop and smile at him and you could tell he was the most popular guy in the shop. The -1 star is just for the ambiance, which is fine but nothing spectacular. It can get quite loud, and the fluorescent lights are very bright and a little off putting. It's a fine place to get great Mexican food, it's just not the most pleasant place to eat.

Yelp
Came based off of the reviews and we were terribly disappointed, food was very mediocre and bland. We ordered two 3 combo plates, the chile rellenos were not stuffed with cheese rather the cheese on top, not to mention very small. The enchiladas came with red sauce that tasted like canned enchilada sauce. My child got a cheese quesadilla that tasted like it was made with a cheese wiz style cheese that was just not good at all. I will say the prices are very reasonable which I guess you get a what you pay for. We're not from here but lesson learned not to always trust reviews.

Yelp
Food was okay I really had a taste for tamales . The corn meal was kinda dry Also, it also lacked seasoning. Better the next day! Service was prompt & professional.Ambience was great. I will be back.. Rating-

Yelp
The family had a great experience here. The food is cheaper than the average Mexican restaurant which I loved. Our family of 3 got out of there paying 48 dollars for dinner which is unheard of in today's economy. Service was slow, that could be improved. But I will be back. The tacos are GREAT

Yelp
I came here based on the reviews. I'm glad I did. The first thing that stuck our were the affordable prices quickly followed by how big the burrito was. You couldn't even wrap/fold it! It was like a giant taco! Lastly was how tasty the food was. I got the fajita burrito. It was very good. I had planned on saving 1/2 for later, but I ate it all before I knew it. The service was neither fast nor slow. I got the food to go but everyone I interacted with was friendly. The ambiance was casual but clean.

Yelp
I think we'll be regulars here forever. My kids refuse to eat anywhere else when we talk about options to eat out. All of their meat is delicious, the salsas are still our favorite and will buy them to-go because I cannot recreate it still. The meal for our whole family is still very affordable and doesn't compare in taste to any other Mexican establishment in Augusta. The staff has always been kind and helpful. The restaurant itself is clean and has lots of seating. It's seems to be consistently busy but, room to be seated/served.

Cole P.

Yelp
One of the best Mexican restaurants I've ever eaten at. Great service and great price for what you get

Yelp
Food was mediocre and service was horrible..not a warm welcome coming in but to other races they greeted them coming in the door..we had to wait about 10 minutes before a server came to our table..we had to find a server for tea and for our ticket..I amexcusing them on the food due to the Hurricane and a server's crying baby, but not our service..they had plenty of servers.. I've given this restaurant their last chance..do better..

Yelp
The food was not great. The shrimp was terribly overcooked (to the point of rubber)! Do not recommend

Yelp
Got the Burrito El Patron and it was absolutely amazing but the Tacos were way better.

Yelp
This was actually our first time dining here and we absolutely loved the experience. I ordered out once a while ago, but today was a totally different experience. My daughter stated she gives them a 20 out of 10. When we arrived they weren't busy but the crowd started shortly after. The establishment was very clean and chill. Our server was so sweet and the food was amazing! We ordered a large cheese dip for the table. My son and I are fans of empanadas and wr orders chicken and beef. I would have preferred cheese in mine and a little more seasoning in the beef. But, no worries, I added the cheese dip on top. My son and I also had the Burrito Grande with chicken; soooo good. My daughter had the Pizza Birria and it was delicious. She stated it was the best she's had and trust me she's had her share. My husband had the quesadilla el patron. For drinks, I started off with the Pineapple Aguas Frescas but traded it for the Mango one. The mango was better. My son had the fruit punch Jarrito, my daughter had the mango as well, and my husband had the Horcheta. Needless to say, we will return. This is probably our favorite now!

Yelp
Yummy authentic menu, delicious food, great service & clean establishment! We all liked everything about our experience here today. The staff was friendly, the food did not take long to come out and was fresh to order, even though the restaurant was packed when we got there. Our meals were packed with food flavor, leaving our bellies full with satisfaction. Not to mention, I loved the colorful art on the furniture and walls. Our server was a sweet young lady who took very good care of our table. Quick tip: they don't serve alcohol. It might just be a Sunday thing, but that was the only thing we didn't expect. Call us whatever you want, but we are used to having that option back home in SC. My shrimp quesadilla appeared to be a little skimpy on the shrimp, but one I tasted it, it was so delicious and honestly just enough shrimp in there to be very satisfied. Even the beans and rice served with my quesadilla were very good! My son loved his quesadilla mexicana with beef and my husband ate all of his chuletas with a big smile on his face. My youngest son scarfed down his cheese quesadilla and couldn't have been happier about his meal if he tried. Truthfully, this place feels authentic and they serve a lot of authentic Mexican meals too. I definitely want to come back again. Even the house-made salsa was delicious! The salsa verde was very flavorful and the spicy salsa had very good flavor too.

Yelp
This was a great food option for us visiting the area. Super clean restaurant, the staff was very friendly and helpful in making menu decisions. The service and attention we received was excellent. We will again whenever we are back in the area.

Yelp
We had two chicharron pupusas to start, very cheesy and crispy! My wife had the Birria Tacos and I had the 2 mini Chimichangas with rice and beans. The tacos were good, balanced, the consome kind of bland. My chimichangas were crispy, fresh, hot, and very filling, rice and beans were also tasty and hot! We also shared a Horchata, and it was a let down, it tasted like the powdered instant stuff. The place wasn't that busy at 4pm on Friday so we were helped quickly by a friendly waitress. There are also pretty nice slot machines in the back!

Yelp
Food: 5 Customer Service: 5 Location/ Parking: 5 Cleanliness: 5 Reservations: NA We stopped by this Mexican restaurant a few weeks ago, while we was visiting the Augusta, GA community. Their menu offers a wide variety of starters and main courses that will appeal to everyone. Everything we ate was fresh and delicious. The chefs use the best quality ingredients to produce dishes that are simply delightful. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys excellent Mexican food, and I'm sure that we will return for another visit

Yelp
This is our new favorite Mexican spot. We've been in Augusta for about 3 years now. Mi Rinconcito was our fave at first, but they stopped having tripe. Then we did El Rey. We love their salsa bar. But this place! This is THE spot. The food is so good. I think we tried just about every meat on the menu. Everything seems super homemade and fresh. The corn tortillas, the empanadas, gorditas all seem like they were just made. I especially love the corn tortillas. There's just a different, amazing flavor when the corn tortillas are fresh. Service was excellent too! She gave us great recommendations

Yelp
My personal favorite Mexican Restaurant in the Augusta Area. Authentic, fresh. Best tacos! They have $2 Taco Tuesdays. Average price as other local mexican establishments. Servers are attentive and will update you if there is anything holding up your food, etc. Easy to miss location - it is sitting on a little strip off Washington road. Definitely my go to place for Mexican! There is also a military discount.
google avatar

Yelp
Food was awesome. I had the molcajete and it was so flavorful. Really authentic home cooked style.
google avatar

Sarah L.

Yelp
We love this place!! Sunday dinners at el patron are always the move. The atmosphere is always lively. Service is SO fast like we literally had our food in minutes. They don't serve alcohol, but honestly that is part of the charm. It helps keep it more local and less touristy. Great soda and dessert selection as well!!
google avatar

Rayna V.

Yelp
This place is my go to Mexican restaurant in the CSRA! The staff is always friendly and extremely attentive and the food is fresh and delicious whether you're getting take out or dining in. I'm a big fan of their queso dip chile rellanos and pollo con crema. The only drawback is that they don't have alcohol which may be a dealbreaker for some! However I definitely think everyone should give them a try even if you can't have a margarita with your chips and salsa.
google avatar

Jessie Y.

Yelp
one of the best mexican restaurants in augusta! super authentic, such a great place to eat. Prices are more than reasonable. Their nachos and salsa is a delicious start to the meal. I always get tacos here and you can't go wrong picking any flavor! Their fajitas are delicious too. I also get their horchata even though it tastes watered down. The fried icecream is actually cornflakes rolled on the outside of an ice cream ball but no complaints it was still really good. There's a lot of seating area in this place so it's good to take a group of friends :)

Yelp
Very good food as close to Southwest as you can get . The Chilli Rellano was the best I have ever had. Will surely be coming back. Now on too desert.
google avatar

Vanessa V.

Yelp
Food was good! We had fajitas mix dinner portion, chimis, guac, and queso! The margaritas I give it a 5/10. Great service, food, and I was jamming to Spanish songs all the time!
google avatar

Kousee L.

Yelp
Pretty legit!! Love the location right off the exit. I've honestly never got the chance to experience the dine in since I've mostly only order to go but every time. I love the salsas and the fact that everything tastes so authentic. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the Berria tacos. The soup with it was absolutely delicious but the actual tacos didn't have cheese. Otherwise we loved the shrimp tacos and the steak fajitas. Grac was a little too salty but I'm sure it's not always like that. Over all we will return !

Yelp
This restaurant is located in a strip mall along Washington Rd. in Augusta, GA. After getting checked into our hotel, we looked around for somewhere to go for dinner. We saw there were quite a few Mexican places in the area that had fairly high reviews. After looking at different places, we decided to give this place a try. It was only about 10 minutes from the hotel. Our visit here was on July 25, 2019. Once you step inside, you can see the brighter colors inside this place. It wasn't too crazy when we came in, so we were immediately seated. Once seated our server came over and brought some chips and salsas and asked us what we wanted to drink. When she came back, we asked about the salsas. There were three of them. One is mild, one is medium, and one is hot. I can definitely confirm the hot one is hot when it comes to spice. We also ordered a cheese dip. Shortly after the cheese dip coming out, we were ready to order entrees. While waiting for our order, we had the cheese dip, which was good. It was just cheese dip with no spices or anything else in it. After looking things over, I ended up going with the Burrito Grande, but without the rice. My mom went with the Quesadilla El Patron with beef tips. About 5 to 8 minutes later, our dinner entrees came to the table. The food looked really good. The Burrito Grande was a nice, large portion size. The burrito was also very good. The only issue that I had with it was that it didn't come out hot like I experience at other Mexican restaurants. My mom said hers was the same way with her quesadilla. We never got a chance to address the issue as the server (and others) were busy with the large take out line that was happening most of the time we were there. Other than that, the food was good. Overall, this place was okay based on my visit. Service was a bit spotty with them being busy with take out orders and the food not being as hot as one would expect in a restaurant. If my travels take me back this way again, I would still try them again.

Yelp
Very good tacos and burritos in Augusta, Georgia. They also have all of the other usual suspects that you would find on a typical Mexican restaurant's menu. The salsas (yes, I used the plural as they bring out three kinds of salsa) are good here, as well. Pricing is in line with what other places would charge. Service was good and while the exterior was rather plain, located in a strip mall, the inside was inviting. All in all, I would recommend this establishment. If you live or find yourself in Augusta, Georgia and want some good Mexican food, I would definitely check this place out.
google avatar

Jonathan G.

Yelp
I loved it! The service was quick, and friendly, Everything was delicious! The chips and salsa were fresh. I ordered the chicken & steak mixed fajitas (lunch portion) and I was completely satisfied. Great value for generous portions and quality ingredients!
google avatar

Steve M.

Yelp
We came here this past Sunday and ordered menudo when the server brought out our food, it was in a big bowl but all broth with maybe 5 pieces of tripe and no hominy. The server came back with a tiny bowl of tripe, we ended up swapping it out for pozole which was a little bit better, almost the same issue though. We really do like supporting local businesses please do better
google avatar

Lupe L.

Yelp
If I could give 0 stars I would but it's not possible. In my life I've never had tacos as oily and unseasoned as these. I'm not sure why this place would ever be given more than 2 stars. We thought maybe it was an "off" day but if your off day is a Friday afternoon then you have so much to work on. Will never return here and will never recommend this place.
google avatar

Chad H.

Yelp
Very fresh and very authentic. I have never had huaraches before and I think it may be the best Mexican dish I've ever had. Empanada was very hot and crispy. I've also had the tamale and flautas. All very good. I had a different waitress every time and each of them were very friendly and attentive. I don't have enough good things to say about this place. I'm from out of town and I've been working here for months. This is by far one of the best Mexican places I've ever been.
google avatar

Melissa M.

Yelp
The food was delicious. I was surprised that I liked the cheese sauce on the burrito. It looked a bit watery but tasted good.
google avatar

Grace P.

Yelp
Y'all, I have spent FOREVER trying to find authentic tacos in the South, specifically barbacoa tacos. Taqueria El Patron finally satisfied my cravings for authentic street tacos!! Very affordable and fast service. I ordered my usual trio: lengua, barbacoa, and Tripita. I was very satisfied with all three tacos and am so happy I ran across this location. Salsa was spicy and amazing as well too.

Kat M.

Yelp
Best Mexican food in Augusta! The only bummer is that they don't serve alcohol. However, their food and service makes up for it.

Kevin W.

Yelp
If you grew up on authentic food , this is where you should be eating. There is too much good food to single 1 dish out .
google avatar

Ashley S.

Yelp
I was looking for a good taco place and I think I found it! I always order tacos de carne asada or flautas and the tacos here are really good. They make their tortillas in house too. I did not like their horchata, it tastes like it's made from a powder instead of real horchata but overall the food is amazing and I will be back again!

Kathleen F.

Yelp
Very friendly atmosphere, gracious service and the food was wonderful (we had the mixed fajitas).

Roy H.

Yelp
I don't know what happened to the food here but it's gotten terrible from last i visited every thing was bland nothing was seasoned as before I didn't think let rephrase that I won't be returning to this restaurant which was my favorite in town the refried beans were runny the chicken fajitas were not seasoned nor was my street tacos I hope this isn't their menu for the week of Masters
google avatar

Eve R.

Yelp
Menu has really good variety. I haven't had some of these dishes or seen them available at the few other spots I've been to, which is nice. I'm used to authentic homemade Mexican food as well as bomb restaurants in the west coast, so this seems relatively promising, based on the tacos alone lol. They don't serve alcohol here, but the food is legit.
google avatar

Andrew G.

Yelp
Another mexican joint with quality mexican food in August, GA. I ordered Medium Pazole (spicy pork soup w/ hominy, cilantro ,onion, cabbage, lime and radish) .CURED my hangover. Also the carne asada tacos(2) with rice and beans came with chips and 3 different fresh salsas. Cant go wrong with this place! $23.95 . Taste like home#SOCAL

Hilda B.

Yelp
Service has gone down. Food is good though. Wish they would have better service like before.
google avatar

Jenni H.

Yelp
We absolutely love this place but the Togo order we got was so nasty we didn't even eat it. Taqueria el patron why did you do us like this? Before corona we were regulars but after this to go experience we will NEVER return and I'm posting photos of the horrible food we got on every platform possible. I am beyond upset. I work 12 hour days and drive 2.5 hours to and from work so just wanted to take ONE night off from cooking and didnt even get that so we paid for food that went in the trash. Guess yall feel like if it's togo you can give us crap to eat. Update 2 hours after I ate a few bites before tossing it and now I'm throwing up. Lovely. Don't order from here unless your eating in what a waste of 40$
google avatar

Paul F.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place. Quite authentic and food was reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. Server came over to apologize for one of the entrees that was slower because it takes longer to make fresh. Would I go back - deffo.
google avatar

Quy M.

Yelp
Food here is amazing. The service was great as well. I do like the fact that you get three different salsas with the chips, that's a little new to me. The Fajitas are great, everything was seasoned perfectly. The menu is completely in Spanish so bring your translation devices if you don't like asking questions. I also grabbed some tacos to-go for something to eat a little later that day, although the soft shell broke pretty easily, it was still tasty. I also took the tea to-go, the next morning when I was pouring it out I noticed syrup at the bottom so not sure if they used that on top of sugar to sweeten their tea. Either way I didn't get sick and can't wait to try this place again.
google avatar

Patrick G.

Yelp
Decent Mexican food and good prices. Not my favorite Mexican in Augusta but worth a visit.
google avatar

Amanda M.

Yelp
The best Mexican food in Augusta. I used to buy lunches from the Mexican ladies that sold lunches in the neighborhood in Florida. This place reminds of those lunches. I haven't had a bad thing yet. This is definitely a must try if you haven't. Would love some to see them add tacos de nopales to the menu. Yum.

Susan C.

Yelp
I was staying nearby and got takeout here, and was pleasantly surprised. Great flavor and quantity of food for a very reasonable price. If I lived here, I'd be in every week.

Monica B.

Yelp
The food was really bad. I ordered the carnitas and it was way too salty. I didnt eat it and asked for a taco salad instead. It was drenched in dressing, so I couldn't eat that either. My mother ordered a quesadilla and it was a flour tortilla folded like a taco. I've never had such a horrible experience. Don't an on a margarita either. They have no alcohol.
google avatar

Nat D.

Yelp
I always want to kick myself for not thinking of coming here more often. I like this place because it is super affordable and everything tastes good. You never regret spending money on another night out because no one wanted to cook. Everything is super casual and the food always comes out hot (you'd be surprised how many downtown restaurants serve lukewarm quesadillas). The service was actually good too! Nancy was friendly, attentive and always around when we needed her. Usually, we order soup for takeout, especially when we're sick. I get the chicken and he's obsessed with the Menudo. It tastes even better with the cilantro and onions they add on the side. But this time I didn't get flautas or tacos like I usually do (still recommend them though). I'm not a fan of most sandwiches that aren't deli sandwichyes, but I was surprised to see a hot, sizzling plate of pork with all the fixings (smashes beans, cheese, carnitas, lettuce, onions, etc.). It's like an open-face sandwich with .75 inch thick, fried corn-based bread. It's not spicy and the flavors blend well together-total harmony. It's actually really big too. Some people can eat it in one sitting, but I think most would box up half of it. The bean and cheese dip is also pretty good. It's a simple and delicious mixture of white cheese with refried beans. Frankly, I try to save my appetite and go straight to the main course with a Jarrito's soda on the side. Next time, I'm just going to close my eyes and point to a picture. I haven't been disappointed with any of the meals there.

Derrick B.

Yelp
Great food and service. The posolie is excellent on a cold day. Salsa is very good. Especially the hot. Which is very hot. Service is great.
