Yelp
As usual, I'd been craving tacos all day, and this place had been on my radar, bookmarked in Yelp. Rounded up some friends and popped in.
Friendly people work here, and the chips and salsa come out right away. They had a wide assortment of aguas, and although I didn't love my tamarindo or my friends horchata (both watered down and weak) I'll give the guayaba one a chance when I come back.
On to the tacos. I was pleased. Got five, standard order for my low key pig situation: tripas, lengua, pastor, cabeza and carnitas. I think the lengua and pastor were my favorites, carne asada is up for the next visit. Single tortillas here, but they were quite tasty and the tacos were pretty good sized. Like I couldn't finish all of mine. The meats weren't as flavorful as some of the meats that I've had, but still tasty. All meats are 2.75, which is getting to the top of my taco price point, but they're generously sized, and supposedly, on taco Tuesday, they're 2.00.
My friend was decidedly not that into Mexican food, he doesn't like the "wraps" aka tortillas but I ordered him some carne asada and he loved it. Devoured the entire plate...rice, beans, nopales...the whole nine. I saw some people eating some soups and tostadas that also looked delish. I'll be back.
