"I didn’t really have the energy to cook, so I got takeout from a new spot, Taqueria Fort Greene, in my neighborhood. I got a taco, fried plantains, guacamole, and some sopes. All delish, especially the plantains, but so much food, so I ended up wrapping up the sopes."

Stumbled upon this joint while out for a dog walk and couldn’t have been more pleasantly surprised. The most flavorful authentic salsa and easily one of the best nachos I’ve ever had. Burrito and Cemitas were fantastic. Highly recommend if you’re in the hood!

Very very very happy with my first visit, it was with my beloved family and the entire time we were treated with above and beyond service. They have passion for what they do here. The portions were great!!! And the taste was delicious. Come with an appetite and a thirst for a refreshing margarita. Because you deserve it!

Google
Awesome! 🌮 Good amount of filling and the meat is cooked perfectly! Fish is tender and flaky. These are fairly big tacos and 3 is a lot of food! Delivery is very fast and tacos always arrive hot. Loved everything!

Google
Found this place while looking for something open late that could accommodate gluten free after a game at Barclays and it was exactly what we wanted. The tacos, tamales and nachos were all delicious and able to be made gluten free and safe from cross contamination. Also the barbacoa was particularly delicious!

Google
The best place ! I love them strong drinks lol it’s the mango margarita for me ! Tacos was gooood tho .. the truth is it’s not even that expensive 💕

Google
I ordered the vegetation nachos which came out very hot and fresh and very cheesy I was enjoying it until I bite into a piece of meat which was pork. I ignored it and kept eating and I bite into pork again. The prices are decent which is great! Just disappointed since I ordered vegetarian nachos and unfortunately had meat in it. My friend got the shrimp burrito bowl and said it was ok.

EVERYTHING IS SALTY, THEY USE TO BE SO TASTY My latest review: First of all, the old staff is GONE, these new people don't know what they are doing. THE FOOD IS EXTREMELY SALTY. Today I was forced to leave a barley bitten taco on the table. This is the second day in a row where I had to make a complaint about my food. If you want High Blood Pressure, this is the best place to eat. Let's not forget to mention the ever-changing prices, they never stay the same. I been going here for two years every day! and I am done with this place. It has lost its quality in a matter of two weeks; you are better off taking a shot of salt instead of eating there. Good luck to this business, I foresee it closing due to its salty food and floating prices. My review from 4 months ago: I come here every day! Best steak tacos ever!!!!! Dinara is the best literally! Give that lady a raise!!!!!!!!

Yelp
Personally I think this place is above average when comparing to other Mexican fast casual restaurants in NYC. I've ordered takeout a few times, and dined in once. I will say I think the food was better when I sat there and chatted up the bartender, but I digress;

Yelp
Very cute place. I love the mural on the wall. Everything was delicious. I've never seen nachos like this with The toppings so evenly distributed. Weren't all nachos like this?! The sopes were delicious too. It was a big serving so I had leftovers for later

Yelp
Had such a great meal. The staff was very kind when we said we were in a rush and they expedited our order. Really appreciate that! Good chips and salsa - the salsa is more soupy than chunky. I got 4 tacos, the tinga, Al pastor, pork, and one other I can't recall. I was really hungry, but three tacos is plenty. They are thick. I love how they are displayed, like a cone. The guacamole on top is so good. My favorite was the al pastor followed by the tinga - had never heard of that one before. Each taco is $4.50, but they are really filling. Thanks for a great quick visit!

Yelp
Great taco spot in the Fort Greene/Clinton Hill section of Brooklyn. The staff is very nice and attentive. The food is as good as it looks in the pictures. If you haven't tried their tacos you should.

Yelp
Aimlessly wandering on a Friday night brought us to this unassuming restaurant. Off to the side with some tables on the sidewalk, as well as seating inside (though no AC). Decided on a Chorizo Taco, Steak Taco, and Carnitas Taco ($4.95 each); paired with a Chile Margarita ($14). Before the food arrived we got a free basket of chips and salsa, which is always a plus. Tacos are served altogether on a plate, oozing out a healthy amount of guacamole for each one. Though pricey for a taco, the amount of meat is insane - the entire taco is just meat, and maybe some cilantro to go with the guac. Extremely filling, so probably two tacos is best if you're not too hungry. Margarita is indeed spicy, with a jalapeno slice inside. Service is up and down, though friendly. Would come back on another nice evening.

Yelp
Taqueria Fort Greene is a neighborhood taco, torta, burrito slinging shop. The staff are so friendly, the menu is varied, and while there is no indoor sit down dining with COVID, they do have two four seater outdoor tables under some tents. Take out and delivery are also available. We got three tacos and an elote (corn on the cob). The tacos were two ply corn tortillas, loaded with extra fresh guacamole, diced onions, and the meats we picked. I loved the al pastor with the pineapple salsa in particular. The corn was fresh and cheesy, pretty liberally spread with mayo. Prices seem a little high, until you see the quality and the tacos are pretty filling with the guac. Getting our food took about 10 minutes, but we were the first customers of the day at like 10:45 am! They wore masks and had hand sanitizer available. Muchas gracias for the delicious food and wonderful service!

Yelp
Urgh. I ordered this through door dash, and we ordered a fish taco, Al pastor and a cochita pibil. The Al pastor was okay, although rather chewy, - but they really messed up the conchita pinup and the fish. The orange achiote marinate was on the fish and the pork was plain- no seasoning at all. My friend had the fish and said it was horrible- she threw it away. I had the plain pork and it was inedible and also threw it away. It was full of fat and tasted awful. Even the cats wouldn't touch it. Don't recommend- especially not for $5 a taco, that we had to throw half away.

Yelp
A $16 drink to go is ridiculous. My hand is bigger than this Sh*t. I went to complain and the bartender is like " this is ny". No you guys are scamming. I can go anywhere and get 2 drinks for this price wtf.

Yelp
So happy to have a solid Taqueria in the neighborhood! Workers (maybe owner?) were super nice, tacos were huge, covered in super fresh guac. You could really tell how close to the avocado this guac was, not the usual watered down stuff you find at taquerias. The tacos were absolutely huge, we were absolutely stuffed after 2 1/2 tacos, where normally we can down 3 tacos without a problem. We tried 6 different taco toppings: Al Pastor - delicious, pineapple was cut into crunchy small bites Chorizo - nice, spiced well with a perfect amount of saltiness Enchilada - a little mild, calling it 'spicy pork' was a bit of a stretch, but still good Chicken - pretty bland, intended for the unadventurous on the menu, so as expected Tinga - nice, again not very spicy, but flavor was good Vegetable taco - full of delicious veggies, goes great with the guac topping

Yelp
If you're looking for authentic Mexican food Taqueria is the place, it's has a very family feel to the restaurant. The service was great and I will definitely be going again.

Yelp
I have ordered from here numerous times, delivery is so quick. Like this evening they delivered during a shower storm within 30 minutes. The food is good and always warm, its not amazing but hits the spot. I love their cemitas and nachos, would not recommend burritos from here or tacos. Also highly recommend their margs, and amazing service!

Yelp
I went to this place for the second time yesterday because I was desperate for a quick bite to eat with a friend in the park. This was against my better judgement because I had remembered having a seriously overpriced boring burrito a few years back. But food options near the park are all so expensive so I just bit the bullet and went for it. We got chicken, chorizo, and two fish tacos. All really boring and unflavorful. None of the ingredients felt fresh. I'm leaving three stars because the tacos are huge, as they should be for the price. They are also filled with tons of meat, which would be a good value except the meat had no flavor and didn't feel fresh. And it needed something more than just weirdly over seasoned yet bland meat and fish filling. I'm from San Diego so my standards for Mexican are pretty high. At least put some lemon on it or something....:(

Yelp
First of this is where I was born and bread. Secondly, I decided to stop by today because Tacos aren't just for Tuesday o made myself believe that. I got two chicken tacos and was very surprised at the out come. It was soft shell with lots of guacamole and lots of chicken. I had two cucumbers and sliced radish and some onions. Wow I'm use to cheese and salad and some other things in it. Oh a few slices of lime. This is a one and done. I wish them well

Yelp
These tacos exceeded all expectations. I got the: veggie taco- filled with amazing fresh sautéed vegetables (corn, peppers, onions & mushrooms) fish taco- filled w bite size pieces of fresh fish (I was expecting to get 1 piece of mediocre fried fish and was so excited to see that was not the case!!!!) it was flaky, buttery and flavorful shrimp taco- plenty of shrimp in here- maybe 5 of them which is quite a bit for just one taco!!!!!!!! my boyfriend got the: al pastor taco- which he described as being perfectly balanced in flavor with the pork and pineapple chorizo- perfectly crispy sausage that filled up the entire taco with an amazing flavor steak taco- the classic steak taco he's always wanted but never knew where to find All tacos came in 2 corn tortillas wrapped with wax paper making them easy to pick up and eat. Although it would've been easy for them to get soggy on the walk back- they were still perfect when we sat down to eat! all of the tacos were also topped with pleantu of guac, and also came with lime wedges and radish slices. Not to mention each taco came with one tiny container of homemade hot sauce (none of them were too spicy- super flavorful and just the right amount of spice!) which perfectly complemented each taco!! We will for sure be coming back ASAP

Yelp
La comida es buena, pero el servíos es una de los peor, siempre se le están olvidando algo

Yelp
Was in the area and was craving tacos so thought I'd give this place a try. It was not very good and did not taste fresh at all. The chicken looked and tasted like it was made from the previous day(s) and reheated. The steak on my taco had a weird color and also didn't taste like it was freshly made either The guac on my tacos didn't look nearly as good as some of the other photos I saw on here and also just looked old. Did not feel good after eating here

Yelp
Just moved to NYC (coming from SoCal) so my standards of Mexican food are probably a bit higher than the norm. Wanted a quick bite one evening so just picked a random and local place. Ordered takeout so can't comment on the vibe of the place but seemed like a small/quick place to grab a bite. For the food: 1. Burrito bowl (al pastor) - 2/5 - pastor was juicy but lacked a lot of flavor. Didn't get sweet notes of pineapple and the flavor was a bit lacking. The cojita cheese was kinda just layered in there with a big chunk and it was like eating melted flavorless plastic. 2. Burrito bowl (vegetarian) - 3/5 - same complaints as above but the vegetarian flavoring was much stronger 3. Burrito (chocita pibil) - didn't order; was ordered by a friend and was giant in a bad way - nearly impossible to keep together but he said the flavor was decent. 4. Salsas - red salsa was fire, very good and had a good kick. The green salsa was good as well, refreshing. I think I'd stop by to try some tacos if I want to be out but will probs avoid any takeout.

Yelp
Tacos were really, really good. I ordered a cochinita pibil and an al pastor taco. The cochinita really took it home for me. So much flavor and tenderness. I also ordered the tamales which were excellent. Came as one large tamal in banana leaves. The chicken tinga burrito was also delicious. I will be going back again and again!

Yelp
So so rude. I spoke to the manager 'Diana'. Who just hung up when I was trying to get an answer. We ordered of grub hub. An hour later our order is canceled saying restaurant is closed. I called them -'f they could not care less aging they only accept cash... Maybe they should removed the service from seamless than or at the very least tell the delivery company to contact the person ordering and let them know. Now it's last my sons bed time and we have no food :/

Yelp
I was looking for a taco spot since I was around the area. I searched and found this spot and ordered a shrimp taco. The taco itself was great- the shrimp was not it tasted literally like nothing so I was a bit disappointed. Hopefully, they can season Ans grill the shrimp before adding it to the taco. I will give it another try and will update my review once I do. But for now-the shrimp in the taco-is a no bueno.

Christine L.

Yelp
Got takeout from here! Tacos were so filling and had generous amounts of guac. The carne asada and al pastor were super tender and tasty

Yelp
I first tried this great little spot about 1. 5 yrs ago when it first opened as it is very close to where I live and the first reviews I saw weren't very good but it was mostly logistic annoyances people were complaining about and I know it takes a little while for new restaurants to work those things out and so I tried them out and the food was great and I left a positive review. It's been 1.5 yrs and I am doing a second review b/c I'd like to thank them for being open during the pandemic and doing delivery b/c they helped me keep my sanity during this crazy time and there are two standouts I want to discuss 1. Fish Tacos- I don't know what seasoning blend they use or the type of fish they use (im thinking a white fish that flakes really well) but their fish taco isn't fried fish, or grilled, it's almost like it's broiled and the meat is so flaky and tender and they put a lot in the taco and a big helping of guac too. All for 5.50 a taco. The tacos are quite large compared to most authentic mexican places that use a smallish soft tortilla for their tacos. A great deal at that price for what you get. Real Value! The taste is something like a tandoor type of yogurt based marinade and then they put it in a clay oven. I know it's prob not that but the taste reminds me of it a bit. So mild in flavor but yet A perfect balance 2. Their Salsa- Their salsa is so smooth and blended you'll wnat to put it on EVERYTHING. Like eggs, pancakes, stews steak, rice and beans hell you may want to add it to oatmeal! They really need to sell it by itself on seamless or something. It may be the best salsa I've ever had. Always have a good experience with their delivery too, tho they do put wayy too many napkins and plasticware in their deliveries but I just bring the plasticware to work and put it in the kitchen for when people forget theirs at home or something. Great job Taqueria Ft. Greene and may a food critic one day come on in and enjoy your fish tacos. I'd love to see that write up! .

Yelp
Darn, I really wanted this place to succeed. But these enchiladas are a sloppy, liquefied mess. My guess, but I don't know, they were frozen and microwaved. I don't know where else this much liquid would come from. Weird even. Awful for sure. The lettuce was soaked. The tortilla are drenched. Really disgusting. Hopefully they get this and get fixed.

Milan C.

Yelp
A great place to eat!! Food is delicious and reasonably priced. Especially love the al pastor tacos!!
google avatar

Joanne L.

Yelp
The larger than usual size of tacos does nothing to make up for a serious lack of flavor. I was excited to try it because my other go to Mexican is chipotle but I was sorely disappointed. :(
google avatar

Al H.

Yelp
Was shockingly surprised at how good the al Pastor Torta was- it is very easy to get a torta wrong! They did not disappoint. There are not many good taquerias in the neighborhood, looking forward to ordering from them again and trying a few more items on the menu!

Dylan G.

Yelp
These tacos were absolutely delicious and the serving size is amazing for the price - their goal is to make a taco so stuffed that you can't close it. Had the tinga and the cochinita pibil, definitely recommend them both. They're also open until 2 am.
google avatar

Rachel A.

Yelp
It's a whole in the wall type of place but the food is absolutely amazing. I highly recommend their tacos and as they come in a cone-ish shape STUFFED with goodness. You get so much food for what you pay for. I will be going back.
google avatar

Jamie D.

Yelp
I've been eyeing this place in my neighborhood for a while and we finally decided to order from here. I was on the fence on what to order because I wanted to try it all but I landed on the chili relleno's. Partly because I wanted to add a photo to Yelp for other relleno lovers. I unfortunately have to say they were not my favorite! Good taste but WAY too much cheese ( that I'm sure due to travel was also no longer melted) and too much sauce as well. I still give 4 stars though because I stole bites of my husband's tacos and they were delicious! We also ordered a hot tamale that was so yummy I'm going to be craving it like crazy!! So no, I won't be ordering the relleno's again but I will, however, be making my way through the rest of the menu to see what other treasures await!
google avatar

Maxfactor C.

Yelp
Had two fish tacos and steak. Also had the margarita. All good but I don't like corn tortillas. I should not have assumed they would be flour. Cute location and friendly staff. Good size tacos had to share lol.
google avatar

Sybil H.

Yelp
Delicious! I got the nachos. They were really good and surprisingly filling. The inside is small so I wouldn't suggest bringing a large stroller (I have twins and my stroller is like a limo. It fit but it took some maneuvering) or large party. Service was quick. It didn't look like they had waitstaff but that's fine. Good place for carry out.
google avatar

Andrew E.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our tacos and the service. They have a variety of tacos and different styles. We enjoyed the chicken, pork and fish tacos. They come with a heap of guacamole which is a nice touch. The service was friendly too.
google avatar

Rakesh M.

Yelp
Went here for the tacos, but also got a chicken quesadilla. The carnitas tacos were pretty good. Wife liked the fish tacos as well, the tacos in general were quite large for the price. Sauces they came with were also really good. Chicken quesadilla was a bit odd, not bad but really thick, almost more like a sandwhich. Hard to find reasonably priced good Mexican in this part of Brooklyn, so really happy to find this place.
google avatar

Arthur K.

Yelp
Ordered the nacho plate with chorizo and chicke, let me tell you worth the price of admission, big plate and delicious

Val V.

Yelp
Reliably delicious tacos, each around $5. Ready fairly quickly, and offer comfortable seating indoors, outdoors, and to go. Definitely recommend the el pastor and the cochinita pibil tacos and eating at the nearby park!!
google avatar

Yelp
We love Mexican food so we were so excited about trying this spot. I'm giving them 4 instead of 5 stars because we had to go back and give them a second chance. The first time I ordered birria tacos and a frozen blueberry lemonade. The drink was watered down and the tacos were so salty and tasted more like shredded salted beef. This time I ordered the 3 taco dinner with carnitas, al pastor and steak. Their tacos all come with guacamole, onions and cilantro, but I ordered mine American style with avocado , cheese, sour cream, lettuce and pico. They also serve the tacos with limes, radish slices and cucumber slices. Not going to lie I felt a bit wasteful with all the extra veggies it was so much. The tacos themselves so good though. I should have ate the carnitas first because the flavor on the steak and the al pastor surpassed it by far. The al pastor was my absolute favorite and I'm not even a fan of fruit and meat. Delicious. Definitely will be back for maybe an al pastor bowl or burrito that would be so good.
google avatar

Isabella D.

Yelp
This place has been so consistently good that I was compelled to leave a review. Shrimp quesadilla and fish tacos ... honestly some of the best I've ever had. Every dang time. Even just writing about it makes me hungry! Thank you!
google avatar

Berny B.

Yelp
Takeout was perfection! Complicated order everything was right! I also ate at the restaurant and it was so wonderful. I love supporting small local businesses. Best nachos I have had in my life and I've been to Mexico several times and eaten nachos all over the South. The Al Pastor taco with roasted pork, pineapple, cilantro and onion is amazing. I love their chips and guacamole and the service was so attentive and friendly. Great atmosphere I sat in the sun by the window. Also the prices are amazing and the portions are great. Go, run to this place immediately you won' regret it or get takeout, it's wonderful:)
google avatar

Hannah Paige M.

Yelp
Great stuff! Their delivery fee is free with a $10 order, which is pretty easy for me to do. I ordered an empanada and wound up with two, and also ordered 1 taco and ended up with 2. Not sure why, but no complaints! Food absolutely hit the spot. Will definitely order again.
google avatar

Tania A.

Yelp
I love to come here for a quick bite to eat. I love Mexican food and it's been challenging to find but I've been satisfied enough to return a few times :) everyone that works here is supper friendly
google avatar

Zelda Z.

Yelp
Very fresh, cooked to order food at a good price. We just ordered a bunch of tacos from here, and were quite pleased with our food. We had ordered 3 tacos each, but were full with two. Each taco came with soft and tasty corn tortillas, stuffed with filling, with a large dollop of guacamole. I was happy that the chicken was grilled rather than stewed, and that the order came with cucumber, lime, and radish. We will be back.
google avatar

Matt M.

Yelp
Cute place, nice looking food, but totally flavorless. The salsa and chips tasted watery. I got the chicken enchilada and it looked beautiful but tasted like nothing. The tomato on top had the texture of being recently defrosted. Disappointing, it's a nice spot otherwise. Cash only, ATM in the back only charges 1.75 which is nice.
google avatar

Jean S.

Yelp
This place is incredibly disorganized. I placed an order that never arrived and when I tried calling, their number did not work. After getting a working number from Seamless, the restaurant said the order was only a few minutes away twice only to never send out the food. It was extremely frustrating and I don't trust this restaurant at all.
google avatar

DJ H.

Yelp
I was craving tacos and found this spot here on Yelp. They opened 2 weeks ago. The tacos were super fresh and didn't take long to come out at all. The tinga was very flavorful and my favorite. All of the tacos were loaded with tasty guacamole. I met the owner who was very friendly. This will be my new go-to spot when I'm craving Mexican food! I can't wait to try the other selections on the menu.
google avatar

Berguenzel W.

Yelp
Delicious authentic tacos! I'm so glad we finally have a legit Mexican place in Fort Greene. I keep coming again and again, everything I've tried so far is really tasty. Also, it's cheap (for Fort Greene standards).

Mary N.

Yelp
A Coloradan with Texan roots writing here: I've lived in NY for 30+ years and was convinced I would never find a Mexican place like this in the city. It's literally just a hole in the wall, but that doesn't stop it from being DELICIOUS. I haven't tried everything here, but I will! Thank you, taqueria.
google avatar

Briana S.

Yelp
This place is cool. Their delivery service is shit. It took an hour for me to call them back! (Yes you read that right) an hour for me to call them back just to find out where my food was. After I did that the delivery man calls me and claims he was outside when he wasn't. I explained to the lady during my order that I could not come outside to pick up my food since I had a child with me if he can come to the door like a normal delivery service she agrees and tells me yes. This led to me having to go get my food from the restaurant myself and stilL have to wait! NEVER AGAIN! as far as delivery service. Burritos are good and the charge was on the house for the inconvenience. I just would not recommend a delivery service especially if you're baby sitting and craving for Mexican food.

Katelyn B.

Yelp
The food is just okay, especially for the price point. Would choose other Mexican places in the area.
