Google
This spot is really CLUTCH ! I have ordered here a couple of times but tonight I got the steak taco (soft shell) & chorizo taco (soft shell) ! Really good. The pull pork quesadilla is always good as well. I recommend for sure !

Google
Nice little spot that is tight on space but big on taste. The guacamole and chips were good. The beef burrito 🤤🌯 was pretty good. Keep up the great work.

Google
Delicious Mexican food. Burrito is very filling and tasty. Never disappointed. Even on take out. The restaurant itself is small, five tables or so. But staff is very friendly. Fish Tacos were very tasty as well! No complaints. One of our local favorites....

Google
$46 for a lengua burrito, an al pastor burrito and a chip and salsa…took a few bites and there was no flavor. Dissected the burrito to only find it was packed with partially uncooked rice and no meat! Not really sure how this place got almost 5 stars…

Google
If you go and you're the only one in the seating area.. its a vibe. Have a beer and a taco.. the nachos were pretty tasty too! They do pork very well. 😉

Google
Really excellent chorizo and shrimp tacos. The homemade ground beef empanadas are worth a stop alone. This is easily our go to spot for Mexican in the area. Grab a beer, sangria, tres leches, or horchata to really round out your meal.

Google
Got takeout last night. The food was OK but I had gotten banana pudding for dessert... it tasted "old" and not fresh... the cookie in there was definitely bad... I woke up in the middle of the night with SEVERE abdominal pain and vomiting! I noticed there was another review from a yr ago from someone who got food poisoning. Beware!

Traci

Google
I ordered delivery from here twice and both times it was great. They deliver quickly and follow contactless directions. My pork taco and shredded beef tacos were amazing. The flavor in the meat is just perfect. Their tres leches is also delicious, cold and creamy! The chicken quesadilla was just OK, but still better than my own, especially dipped into the red and green salsa they give you. Definitely give them a try!

Yelp
There are more than a handful of Mexican restaurants across Ditmas Park/Flatbush, and I sadly have to say I don't love most of them. I have a suspicion that lamenting the Mexican food scene in NY is a tired talking point and those who are more in the know know where to get fire Mexican food so it's embarrassing for me to harp on this. So it was with great anticipation that I walked over to Taqueria Maria and Ricardo for what I kept reading was really good eats. While the food wasn't disappointing it wasn't good enough for me to want to return to either. I tried a grilled shrimp rice plate with rice and beans as well as a chicken burrito. I just think everything is lacking salt and oomph, but it was perfectly serviceable. It's a small spot where you pay at the counter and someone will bring your food to you if you set up at one of their few tables. But I think it's mostly a takeout & delivery operation. At least their portions are decently sized.

Yelp
It's alright... this is definitely a spot for "quantity" over quality... I guess? This was for a delivery - took about 20mins - from placing the order to delivery - not bad at all! We ordered a bunch of tacos, like over ordered... to feed our friend's gathering - a party of 11! Way too many tacos, burritos and nachos... steak, carnitas, pull pork, chicken, chorizo, and guacamole w/ chips. We usually get our fix from another spot... but dang! They closed that day... so what do we yelpers do?! Search on Yelp! Keke (the reviews looked good... but guess the quality wasn't as great as Avocado Mexican Grill). But overall, I'd say it's decent - especially when we know our limitations in South Brooklyn. Go check it out and see for yourself. #yelplife #tacos #brooklyneats

Yelp
This is the Birria taco on the menu, one taco for $5 with no consume soup to go with it. Not worth.

Yelp
I tore this food up! This was my 2nd order in one week. Initially I had the chicken burrito which was amazing. Make sure you drench it in that delicious green salsa Verde sauce. Don't forget the sour cream. I had the 'shredded' pork burrito (2nd order). And it wasn't really shredded. It was more el pastor style. I was also the first order of the day so maybe they hadn't slow cooked the pork. Couldve been left over. I actually threw it out cause it was kinda dry. The shrimp taco was full of luscious shrimp and amazing. The shredded beef taco was tasty but a little salty. I'd definitely order from them again. I'd stick to the chicken burrito and shrimp taco. Plus, there are a bunch of other options on the menu. Give it a shot! Check out more of my foodie recs on insta @saltandsavor

Yelp
It came in a decent amount of time & ingredients they said fresh but I like to hold my burrito and you have to eat this with a fork and a decent amount of steak but more rice im from California where we have the best Carna Sada burritos this gets three stars one for the fresh ingredients two for a decent amount of steak and three for the timeframe it came but I definitely like a burrito I can pick up NOT break all apart in the pan it's not a enchilada is a burrito you need to hold it just like a hot dog.

Yelp
Overall, taste was good. Ingredients are fresh. I review is really for a 3.6. I think $5 a taco is a bit expensive for the neighborhood. Pricing feels like city pricing hence the stars off. I think there could be other similar portion and quality for cheaper. Nachos were good with the guacamole add on. 3 dishes and 1 soda was about $50. Burritos and nachos were $13-$17 each

Yelp
When Taqueria Maria e Ricardo first opened (8 years ago?), I was hesitant to try it. I loved the Caribbean place that used to be in this spot (anyone remember Brooklyn Belly?) and the fact that they offered hard-shell tacos put me off a little. Just felt a bit Taco Bell, and I didn't expect authenticity. But then my roommate at the time, who had spent 5 years living in Mexico City, came home one day and said, "Their tacos are really good." Well, that was all I needed. And he was right. They are good. And Carolina, who works the counter most days, is a delight. This has become one of my regular go-tos for takeout. (They did add some covered outdoor seating during the pandemic, but it is mostly a take-out kind of place.) One last note: I'm not sure what they do to them, but their rice and beans are some of the most the most flavorful I've ever had in my life.

Yelp
Yummy local Mexican food! Called & ordered for pickup last week and got the following: - 4 al pastor tacos - 3 lengua (grilled tongue) tacos - a small grilled steak quesadilla (came with rice & beans) - extra side of rice & beans - horchata Everything came out to be just under $50 which is decent! The tacos were huge and so tasty. Don't forget the green salsa. Loved the quesadilla as well. The beans tasted a bit funky to me - had a very strong flavor that I couldn't pinpoint. Next time I'd just get plain yellow rice. Otherwise very solid food.

Yelp
I was looking around restaurants in Brooklyn and came across this place. 4.5 stars and Mexican food... yeah I had to check this place out. I got grilled steak tacos, grilled shrimp sope, al pastor totta and fries (random... i know). They were all delicious and flavorful, just wish that the tortilla flour that wraps the taco/sope was too bland and thick. Otherwise, I enjoyed all the foods here and will definitely order more next time!

Yelp
Always 100% fresh and tasty. Great customer service. Not too long of a wait and they serve beer seltzers and homemade sangria. Local boomin spot

Yelp
Someone said in one of the reviews thst it'd not authentic Mexican food. I must agree. It's perhaps Mexican food that's usually made by the Chinese Mexican food spots or for the local 'gring0s' that don't know any better. But when I picked the food up it seemed the spot was in fact Mexican owned (not sure about cooked) so it made this even more weird. In any case, it's nothing to write home about. My nachos' tortilla chips looked and tasted like they came straight outta the bag. And I suspect the accompaniment salsas suffered the same fate. Both tortilla chips and salsa left an impression they weren't made on the premises. My ground beef was also something I wasn't expecting. It wasn't what I usually understand or accept as usual under the term ground beef. It wasn't seasoned with the usual Mex ground beef seasonings, instead it was just some sort of beefy type meat that was fried and tasted a bit too sweet for my liking. Also, oddly enough, the nachos didn't have any beans. My husband had the steak tacos and he agreed that the food was neither truly Mex or something that we should come back to this place for. All in all, this spot only good if you have no other option.

Yelp
Oh. M. G. This place had the BEST food! I ran the Brooklyn Half marathon and was craving some delicious Mexican food and boy, did this place deliver! The waitress on the phone was a delight and her suggestions were great. The delivery was also fast and easy! If I'm in Brooklyn again, I will definitely stop here again.

Yelp
I ordered on a recent Saturday night. I got a call from a guy who said "Delivery". I told him I'd be right down. I went down the stairs (I live in the type of building where we have to go down the stairs to open the door for visitors). I open the door - no one there. I look around outside - nope. No one. Confused, I went back up two flights of stairs and called back the number that had called me. The guy on the phone was not easy to understand but said he was at a building at ___ (mentioned an address that wasn't mine - not even my street). I told him my address, he kept saying he was at another address. I said my address again - by then getting REALLY irritated. Then I get an incoming call from someone else, who said he was there with my delivery. I went down to open the door for him. This guy had my delivery but I'm really confused about the first call (why did he have my number?) - and it was annoying. I'm usually a patient person but this was coming the day after I had had an upsetting incident with a taxi driver who was also not easy to communicate with. I order takeout/delivery so I can chill out and feel relaxed, not to get aggravated and this whole experience really put me in a bad mood. The food was fine but I think more care could be taken to keep the enchiladas from mixing into the rice and beans - I would have preferred them more separated. Also, the Seamless menu indicated that the grilled chicken enchiladas had cheese in them, and I didn't taste any.

Yelp
The best place !!! Love it and the staff is super sweet The food is delicious. Great pozole too!

Yelp
It's a really tiny restaurant with only a couple of seats- nothing fancy, but decent for a simple meal. I was kinda enjoying the meal but towards the mid/end of it, I just got bored of the food. Cheese & Jalapeño Nachos ($10.25)-3.5/5 A little expensive for nachos especially when you have to pay for beans ($1.75) and guacamole ($1.75) and no protein. I knew guacamole was extra but who the heck charges for beans? lol. At least they put a lot of cheese which is good for the bowel, amirite? However, I'm pretty sure you're supposed to share this dish cause I couldn't finish so I guess the portion was decent. Grilled Shrimp Tostada ($4.95)- 3.5/5 This was alright, not the tostada I expected. This one just tasted like a large regular chip without the thick crispiness of a tostada. I mean it was crispy but more like a chip kinda way. They did give a good amount of shrimp though.

Yelp
Current obsession: all things Taqueria Maria & Ricardo's. Like their ginormous soft tortilla tacos with salsa verde. My favorite is the shredded chicken. but the pork is pretty tasty too. And they really are very generous with their portions. And their quesadillas are fantastic. Grilled and all golden brown perfection. Did I mention quesadillas come with a side of rice and black beans? They are so good! A 'small' is perfect for one person and a 'large' would be great for sharing (or for leftovers the next day!) And then there is the chips and guac. Yesss guac! Mashed up avocados with juuuust the right amount of diced tomatoes and red onion. And an order is def. big enough for two people to share. Other reasons why M&R's is my favorite taqueria as of late: + The staff behind the counter is so friendly. + Wait time is basically no time. Everything is typically handed to me piping hot within 10 minutes of ordering (I suppose if one ordered 20 tacos and a bunch of burritos it might take a few minutes longer...) + Whether your waiting for take out or dining in -- there's a few stools inside and then a few tables outside for dining alfresco. + Prices are totally reasonable. $3-5 for tacos. $9-12 for quesadillas. $8-10 for burritos. And as mentioned previously - the portion are super generous. + There's a ton more on the menu that I haven't even been able to try yet -- but if the rest is anything like the tacos and quesadillas I've already tried I know the rest of the menu is going to be great.

Yelp
We were really disappointed after seeing all the great reviews. Unfortunately this food definitely is not authentic Mexican food. We knew from the moment we opened up the tacos and didn't see cilantro or sliced radish, a staple in all authentic servings of tacos. The red sauces tasted like tomato sauce and the chorizo, which was burnt (something I've actually never had happen before) tasted like hot Italian sausage. Even the guacamole didn't taste righThe food wasn't "bad", per se, just not good Mexican food. I definitely won't be ordering from here again. Next day update: was sick all night after eating delivery from here:(

Yelp
So I ordered from this restaurant on UberEats. I'm not sure if this has to do with their overall capabilities due to Covid but the price of a Quesadilla platter was roughly $16. The quesadilla itself was not bad but I have definitely had better from a food truck. That said, the portion is absolutely NOT worth the money. They packed a 1/2 cup of poorly flavored rice with 1/2 cup of beans into a 1 cup container. I also had a shredded beef taco which was also devoid of flavor and the tortilla was soggy. I live less then 10 mins away. That's not acceptable. I also ordered some chips and guacamole. The guacamole was barely seasoned and comprised of 85% red onion. There wasn't even enough guacamole to dip my chip. The size they gave was no more then 2-3 tablespoons. I was supremely disappointed by everything I ordered from the portion size to the flavoring. Don't waste your money here. As stated in a prior review, this is not authentic Mexican food. I will never order from here again. In response to the Owner's response below: Three tablespoons of red onions glazed in guacomole is not what i paid for. And please do post that receipt so people can see what a rip off your platters are. I noticed you did not deny that you served me a 1/2 cup of bland rice and a 1/2 cups of poorly flavored beans. Adding a few tablespoons of rice does not make something a platter. It certainly does not make it worth $16. Furthermore I take exception to the tone you took in your response and I am glad that you made your comment public so that others can see how you treat your customers.

Yelp
Who orders whole roasted chicken from a Mexican place? We do! And it is fantastic. It arrived fast, hot, juicy and almost falling off the bone. Very well seasoned without being overpowering. We fought over the leftovers. Also got their chips and guacamole which was excellent too. Nice size serving of chips. Definitely will order again and try more of their traditional Mexican fare.
google avatar

Yelp
Very good food. Nice selection too. Great on delivery's. Place is clean. Will try it again.

Yelp
Delicious meal options to pick from and now even great new breakfast options! My favorite has to be the chorizo egg cheese sandwich ! Uff mouthwatering!

Yelp
The best!! Delivery is always perfect, the food is so good! The enchiladas are also outstanding, and come with perfect fluffy rice and delicious black beans. Nachos are amazing. The shredded beef and shredded chicken are both very good. Love the fajita salad with the spicy Caesar dressing. Comes with delicious homemade salsas and guacamole. So lucky to be in delivery range!

Yelp
We love Mexican and have tried virtually all of the Mexican places in the area of Ditmas Park and Midwood. I have to say that every place has their own strengths and you have to understand that the people working in the different restaurants all come from different parts of Mexico. So you really have to try and get to the dishes that they do best. That said, this taqueria does well at many! We've tried their burritos, fajitas, tacos, tostadas, huaraches, queadillas, salad, nachos, all with different meats, such as carnitas, skirt steak, fish, shrimp, chicken.... So far there hasn't been anything that disappoints. We haven't tried any of the soups yet though. But anyways, my personal favorite is the Shrimp Fajitas. Most times they come out just perfectly cooked, seared a little but not overly. The shrimp is fresh and has the right amount of bounce. So delicious. Their green and red salsa that comes with the platters are so fresh. They don't douse their food with a ton a salt. Seems like they believe in less is more.Great for those health conscious. This place has the best nacho chips on Courtelyou hands down!! I'll take a chips and guac any day from here! =)
google avatar

Michelle C.

Yelp
I ordered shrimp nachos. The flavor is really good. But my nachos only had cheese on the absolute top layer. I had half a container of chips with nothing on them. For $18, I'd kind of like at least cheese on more chips than that.

Charlie M.

Yelp
Not here to bash nobody's business but you guys need to step it up the food came soggy and some of the food taste stale especially the rice and tortilla chips..
google avatar

Avihay O.

Yelp
These guys are sooo good. Small little spot to grab a quick lunch. Chicken was fresh, they add some secret spice that gave it delicious "kick". The beans were great too. I felt I'm in a suburb in Mexico,Thank you!
google avatar

Nicholas G.

Yelp
Came here based on the yelp reviews from the yelp nation!!! I was slightly disappointed because the food did not live up to the hype. The meat was bland and dry. I will say the ingredients were fresh but the meat was not up to par. Tried the tostado as well and it was the same story. Meat tasted like it was sitting around a little. I came during lunch so it could have been a slow lunch. Maybe i will try again.

Abdusalim K.

Yelp
Perfect atmosphere at evening, Very tasty food and excellent service, prices are affordable

Yelp
Thank you for being open during the COVID-19 pandemic. I order here enough times on my way home after taking the Q train. I love that this is family owned and the staff is lovely. My favorite item to get here is the tongue burrito. They cook it so soft and so well (since I know some people who think that beef tongue is chewy.. when cooked correctly, you wont even notice that it is beef tongue!). The filling is quite satisfying for its size. I definitely need to try their tacos and quesadillas since I seem to only order the tongue lengua burrito, haha! I will come back!

Yelp
Maria & Ricardo's is our preferred Mexican delivery in Kensington/Ditmas Park. Always tasty, always fresh and they go the extra mile. Their rotisserie chicken is consistent and nearly as good as the Peruvian standards like Coco Roco (which is a very high bar). Highly recommended -- do them a favor and order directly on their site vs. third-party services! https://www.taqueriamariaandricardo.com/

Yelp
I am literally hooked! This place is small but man it's so good! Since I decided to walk in and try it out a couple of weeks ago I've been ordering their tacos and empanadas several times a week... Only drawback...I gained 5lbs from my new taco addiction thanks to this place lol Must try!!!
google avatar

Lisa T.

Yelp
Riquísimo! The food here is fresh and full of flavor. I ordered a chicken tostada and a carnitas taco. Adding a drink makes your meal less than $10. Gotta love good and cheap eats. I like that they add red peppers to the taco. (Nice touch color) The green sauce that they give you has the perfect hint of spice. The people who work here were also very nice. I would recommend this place.
google avatar

Alexis C.

Yelp
Very filling and yummy tacos. I got the fish and shrimp taco. I actually preferred the shrimp more than the fish. It was all fresh.
google avatar

Yelp
Delivery is lightening fast and so delicious. Thank you for the pork enchiladas.

Yelp
This place is new to the neighborhood and I was excited to try it. I ordered 2 soft shell shrimp tacos and chips with guacamole. By the time I arrived home (10 minutes after I collected my order) and settled in (another 10 minutes) I opened my bag to chow down. The tacos looked good and they also tasted good. My only complaint is that the shells were too soft causing the taco to fall apart when I picked it up. The guacamole was good also but it shouldn't have costed $6.25 - the container was small. All in all I will try this place again.

Alex C.

Yelp
Great food, fast, affordable. I like the churros and the carnitas tacos. The workers are friendly too.
google avatar

Wiicked C.

Yelp
Chicken quesadilla was good. I suggest large because the small is small. Didn't fancy the rice and beans that came with it. Had beef hard tacos, both shredded and ground. Both needed seasoning. Hot sauce saved them. My fiance had a chicken platter and enjoyed it. We would visit again since not a lot of places have hard tacos.
google avatar

Jane S.

Yelp
Delicious, affordable, quick food. As a vegetarian, love their mushroom and corn tacos, cheese quesadillas, and guac. Probably order here every 1-2 weeks. Great service and free delivery in the neighborhood.
google avatar

Joseph D.

Yelp
Taqueria Maria and Ricardo you are really outstanding, I had a wonderful experience here today. The whole place has a great vibe. I will have to admit, Tostadas was really amazing. I think that I could perhaps have a new favorite dish now. The staff are welcoming and so very helpful. Taqueria Maria and Ricardo...Go there, if you can.
google avatar

Mad Y.

Yelp
I got a quesadilla (small) four pieces was excited to try this place, but when I got my order I was shocked no sour cream or side guacamole with the quesadilla which are a staple! Quesadilla was dry without those ingredients. I should've just went to Taco Bell. So disappointing.
google avatar

R W.

Yelp
Best Mexican food we have had. My extremely picky husband completely enjoyed his tacos and I loved my chicken mole enchiladas. The hibiscus iced tea was gorgeous and refreshing. The guacamole was freshly made, perfectly balanced and delicious. The black beans were flavorful. The service was exactly right; friendly, efficient and thoughtful.

Yelp
I've never actually been to this place. In fact it wasn't until not too long ago (like a couple days ago) that I found out that this place is so close to where I live. I've ordered from this place on seamless a few times and I think it may be my new favorite place for burritos and quesadillas in the town on brooklyn! I ordered a burrito from this place a couple weeks ago and it was magnificent! big, flavorful, and covered in melted cheese so it's definitely a knife and fork burrito. the quesadillas i've had the other times I ordered were also quite good, and a very good size. In fact, both times I ordered the "small" quesadilla and it has been enough food (with the included white rice and beans, which are also good) for me. I don't even know what the large one looks like. That must be a LOT of quesadilla! But where these guys excel at is in delivery. At least for them to get to where I live, which I will admit is not that far, I will place and order, and receive my food at my apt door in less than 20min. The crazy thing is, that's normally a bad thing, because in the absolute least that means they're not really cooking the food right? Well everything was fresh and delicious and looks like it was made right when I ordered it. Even if it wasn't, if the food is good why do I care if it was made earlier? When you go to a burrito place they usually just take a bunch of premade things and wrap it in a tortilla, so I'm ok if that's the case here...because it's good. and FAST! Yum!
google avatar

Crystal N.

Yelp
Best tacos ever, i absolutely love this place, always go here as my first choice whenever I'm in the mood for Mexican, and the staff is every quick and precise with my orders, i was so sad when they were closed for almost 2 months cause of covid
google avatar

Yanara P.

Yelp
I ordered the rotisserie chicken and steak taco. Hands down the best rotisserie chicken I've ever ordered. It was seasoned very well, and even the leftovers were moist the next day. My only gripe is the bean & rice portion size was kinda small, but maybe there's another option? I'll definitely be ordering from them again!
google avatar

Esteban P.

Yelp
I've tried tons of small local Mexican eateries but Maria and Ricardos is top Notch! I always get the skirt steak tacos and the shrimp taco is to die for. The ground beef taco is delicious as well. What's great about this place is their food and delivery. I've never been to there establishment and if I do end up there will Remind them that their food is amazing!
google avatar

Bruna P.

Yelp
The food is delicious. I always order delivery from this place and was never disappointed. The pulled pork from the burrito bowl it's amazing!

April C.

Yelp
This place is tiny but they have a few seats inside. It's mainly a takeout and delivery restaurant. This space used to be briefly Brooklyn Belly and also an American Bistro before that. I recently read that Taqueria Maria and Ricardo was trying to get a permit to get outdoor seating. The only time I stopped in, I ordered a vanilla milkshake and it was delicious and just what I expected a shake to be. Most of the time, I order from them on GrubHub. I discovered the best thing ever from this place... the burrito bowl! I always get the grilled skirt steak burrito bowl. It's so good. It comes with melted cheese, black beans, rice, green salsa, and green onions to top it off, with a side of sour cream. The combination of everything is perfect and everything is baked to perfection. Doesn't even compare to burrito bowls from elsewhere. Also, I sometimes get the cookies and cream milkshake as a treat because sweets are my vice. So my point is... try the food here! A+++

corrie k.

Yelp
How do they not know how bad this food is?!? Just about inedible. Unfortunate and unfortunate the reviews pointed us in this direction to spend $74 on food we tossed.

ChiChi Jojy K.

Yelp
Not authentic, but it's good, clean, non-greasy Americanized Mexican food. I don't feel bloated or gross after I eat it, so that's a plus for me! The prices are fair. Portions are enough to fill you up. Food always tastes fresh. Delivery is fast. Cashier is informative if you need help ordering. I love the mom-n-pop vibes, too... The inside is small, but cute. I'll keep coming back :-)
