The food wasn't tasty/ didn't feel fresh. We ordered a wrap and it was dry. They serve chips and salsa which was nice. They have 1 restroom/ gender so expect queue.

Google
First time visiting and we were seated out back which was nice. Plenty of seating for larger parties. Menu was pages long, so much to choose from. We tried the seafood molcajete, which was fairly a large portion, glad I shared it. Street parking is limited, plan ahead.

The staff was very kind and helpful. We sat outside overlooking the creek in a shaded area. I'm not blaming our servers, but the wait time was very long. I did also enjoy the Mariachi band playing from table to table. This was on a Sunday. Will definitely go back but start with a pitcher instead of a glass!

It is a very nice restaurant . Nice service, good people, and the margaritas on point.

Damn, this place got an alluring menu with an outside bar by the river! Every tourist must try this! Cheers

Google
Pretty good food but flavors could be more pronounced. Felt more like a chain than authentic Mexican food. Lovely location and friendly staff. Not a big variety of drinks. (No spicy margaritas, no Modelo)

Sitting by the river and eating was beautiful. The staff very friendly and helpful. Needed more servers is only complaint but the one server who had the patio in back was serving at least 10 tables and did a great job but there were waits simply because she had too much to do alone. She was very good in spite of slowness.

Google
Our favorite Mexican restaurant in Napa and Solano Counties. The back patio is a comfortable and scenic place to sit when the weather is warm. Always a large and friendly staff. A good selection of Mexican beer and tequila. On-site and street parking. Decent prices.

Yelp
Tasty lunch at Taqueria Maria in Napa today. I dined on the sunny (and shaded) front patio. There is also a patio overlooking the Napa River. Large menu and I opted for the two taco plate ($17) with two carnitas tacos, choice of beans and rice. I also added on a shrimp taco ($4.50). The carnitas was tasty and moist. However, the shrimp taco was absolutely delicious and one of the best I've had in a long time. I like how the shrimp were chopped up. Each taco also had a mild salsa on it. I am in the genetic club that thinks cilantro tastes like soap, so I often order my tacos without it if I can, hence no cilantro. The chips were fresh and crisp. The salsas were great. I also got a complimentary order of their housemade habanero salsa. The restaurant also has a full bar and NA beer options. Friendly and efficient service and I was in and out fairly quickly. Lots of families were coming in to dine for lunch - a total local on 3rd Street between Soscol and Silverado Trail.

Yelp
The food at the restaurant was absolutely delicious! I decided to try the fajitas mixtas, and I was pleasantly surprised by their generous portion size. The fajitas were packed with flavor, featuring a delightful mix of well-cooked meats and vibrant vegetables that were seasoned to perfection. In addition to the fajitas, I ordered a refreshing hibiscus water. It had a wonderful floral taste that wasn't overly sweet, making it the perfect complement to my meal. The service was exceptional; our server was very attentive, ensuring that we had everything we needed throughout our meal. They checked on us frequently without being intrusive, which really enhanced our dining experience. The background music added to the ambiance but was played at a good volume, allowing us to enjoy our conversation without raising our voices. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience!

The green and spicy salsa was a perfect compliment. I wish i had more time to spend here will be back!

Yelp
Great food and very accommodating. We had a party of 14. The service was amazing. We got our drinks within a few minutes. Food was super yummy. My first time there but our birthday girl loves this place and I can see why. Perfect and intimate. I would definitely recommend and come back again.

Yelp
We stopped to have lunch while staying just across the street at the Napa Expo and RV. We arrived in a Tuesday at noon the restaurant was bustling. Happily, Taqueria Maria says they are dog friendly so we wanted outside seating. We had our 2 dogs (1 large 1 small) with us when I checked in. We were immediately acknowledged and after some internal discussion in Spanish, the outside patio was being washed down for the dinner patrons, we were seated alongside the river on picnic tables. Turns out this is only open on weekends, but the staff was attentive and brought out menus. What a view!!! We were brought chips and 2 different salsas quickly. The green salsa was delicious while the red was spicy and mildly hot. My husband ordered the combo plate of Chili Reyeno, Al pastor enchilada and a fish taco served with a big portion of delicious refried beans (can order black beans or pinto beans in caldo too). A generous portion of everything. The fish taco is pan fried with a light seasoning cooked to perfection! The chili relleno is stuffed with Mexican mozzarella (we think) that was delicious and the Al Pastor enchilada was seasoned wonderfully. I ordered the 2 fish taco plate. It was quite large for me so I couldn't finish all the delicious rice and refried beans. Large drink menu too. Definitely we recommend.

Yelp
I had a couple of shrimp tacos and a coke today. The shrimp tacos tasted fine with the added salsa I added. They chop up the shrimp in the tacos. I prefer them whole or not chopped up to the extent they are. The tacos are both colorful and flavorful. The Mexican coke you can't go wrong with. Since this is a taco truck I sat in a lawn chair that I had with me. I was the only patron at this time of day. 3 1/2 stars.

Yelp
Good service. We only tried the soft tacos and it was the typical soft tacos. I liked the shrimp taco over the al pastor and lengua. The service was fast. The place was nice though.

Yelp
Came here a couple of weekends ago. Spent a Sunday late afternoon having dinner with my sister. I wanted two street tacos with a side of rice and beans. Searched the menu to something comparable but found nothing. Upon ordering I told the waitress what I wanted and she responded with "oh then you want a taco special" well alright then but I didn't see it on the menu. I was spaced out after she said that and forgot to mention no salsa. Tacos were good with a large amount of meat, but I only ate one cause of the spiciness. I'm a wussy lol Please tell me why when I received the bill, the taco special was more than if I ordered each separately. I raised it to the attention of our waitress and she corrected the price. No questions or comments. Felt like she failed at attempting to charge a little extra. She didn't apologize or no explanation as to why a taco "special" would cost more.

Yelp
A perfectly ok place for us to settle in right after BottleRock ended and wait for the traffic to subside. There was a $20 cover to go into the outdoor dance floor, but we were sat at an outdoor table nearby with a heat lamp with no cover. Guacamole ($12) - 3.5 stars Tostada de Ceviche ($10) - 2 stars (way too spicy, seafood not fresh) Super Nachos ($18) - 3 stars Quesadilla Suiza ($18) - 3 stars

Yelp
It's been awhile since I dined at Taqueria Maria and so I was pleasantly surprised to see the renovated restaurant and outdoor seating. Our party of four came for dinner around 6pm on a Sunday and we were promptly seated. The chips and salsa came very fast. The green sauce was the best and red sauce too spicy for me. Our waitress was in no way going to do small talk so we went on right away to order drinks. One problem is she doesn't know how to sell. I have asked for a margarita and she asked if I wanted regular or gold. As I did not see the menu, I asked her for the difference between the two. She promptly replied.... "The price". Oh no way.... but my persistent self asked nicely... is that the only difference? Then she said the other one is better... the more expensive one... hmmm... anyways, I didn't want this to go on and told her you should probably find out the difference for next time someone asks you... I am not sure if that is going to happen. The food is ok, service is fast. Before we left, the Mariachi was coming in... too bad we missed it: I will try this place again, hopefully this time with more knowledge from staff.

Yelp
Wish I could leave 3.5 stars but it was closer to the 3. Really, really wanted to like it more because it's close to our house but can't justify it - I'm sure I'll try it again and hopefully can update this review with a higher rating. Came in on a Tuesday night in early March at 6:30 - not too crowded this time of year and were sat right away. We both ordered margaritas that came out right away and tasted very good. I ordered enchiladas suizas (my fav!) and hubby ordered a burrito with a side of rice and beans. My husbands food came out pretty quick but while the server was setting it down he told me they were out of green sauce (suiza=green sauce) and would I like red sauce or something else. Husband's food was already there so I didn't think it made sense to order something else so I took the red sauce - not my favorite. The dish was ok - not sure how you run out of green sauce at 6:30 on a Tuesday. A few other problems. Ants. On our table the whole time. We just kept killing them but makes me wonder what's happening in the back? Then when our server brought the bill, as we were packing up our leftovers, he removed our margarita glasses. I didn't realize because I was boxing up my food but when I went to finish my drink, it was gone. I really wanted those last two sips of margarita but was kind of over it and we chose to just leave. I'm going to try it again and hope for the best but first experience wasn't the best.

Yelp
Lovely place in Napa that I suspect is a favorite with the locals. As taquerias go this one was a pretty good size with a full dose of Mexican culture. There is outside and inside seating. Here is the breakdown at the table: - Chips and salsa - eh, we thought they were from Costco. - Carnitas - amongst the best I ever had, tender flavorful, plenty of fresh corn tortillas with a jalapeno and fresh lime to squeeze on it all. - Tamales combo was excellent as well. Our server was very sweet and helpful, and the prices just right Loved this place and when we return to Napa Valley, we will be sure to return to this gem.

Yelp
This is my husband's favorite taqueria in Napa. It has its own small parking lot, but plenty of street parking. There's indoor and outdoor seating with a nice ambience. For lunch today, he got the super steak nachos and I got two shrimp tacos. Our total was $24. Not bad for a sit-down lunch in Napa. The margaritas looked tasty, so I might try one the next I come when I'm not driving.
google avatar

Yelp
This is the best Mexican restaurant in town. Fresh ingredients, great chef and service, plus a great atmosphere for families. I love the nachos and the super burrito. I highly recommend.

Marco G.

Yelp
Honestly really good food and they don't hold back on the meat it's worth it and their service was amazing the food it's great worth it for sure the tacos the burrito and the oysters and the mix drink was amazing

Yelp
For fresh authentic Mexican flavor this place was really good. It was recommended by wait staff from a different location and I'm so glad we went. We enjoyed dining outdoors and the weather was warm and service was amazing.

Yelp
A nice little Mexican restaurant close enough but far away from the crowded downtown area. Service was quick. Food was average. Complimentary chips were just your normal chips out of the bag the restaurant said they did not have any salsa. My wife ordered the enchiladas with green sauce but when they served the meal they said they ran out of green sauce. Not sure how a Mexican restaurant runs out of green sauce by 6pm. Lastly there were several ants meandering on our table throughout dinner.

Yelp
Came here with my boyfriend on a rainy Friday night for dinner because I was craving some caldo. It was extremely busy and we got super lucky immediately finding a parking spot in the lot, otherwise people were parking on the street. Although busy, for a party of two we got seated within 5-10 minutes. I ordered two pollo enchiladas a la carte, a caldo de pescado, and a bloody Maria. The food was a bit of a wait considering how busy it was, but it was good. My boyfriend got the wet burrito that he said had mole sauce that was sweet which he wasn't used to but was good! The enchiladas were delicious, cheesy and the portion was huge, which I was not expecting. The service was excellent and our waiters were very friendly and attentive. If it weren't a rainy day, it would've been nice to eat on their outdoor patio because it supposedly has a river view.

Yelp
Had lunch for cinco de mayo. Food was good I had lengua ranchero and wife had the chicken tamales and enchilada combination. Food was good. I like the location 1st street but across the main area and ambiance inside was nice. Service was also good.

Yelp
Great place to relax and eat good food right by the riverside. We go there every time we're in Napa.

Yelp
I don't understand how this restaurant only has 3.7 rating. We walked in on a Sunday evening at peak dinner time to a packed restaurant and were seated immediately. Our orders were taken promptly and we were checked on every few minutes while awaiting our entrees. Drinks and guac came out within a couple of minutes of ordering; both were fresh and delicious. The salsas were delicious and both the veggie burrito (easily veganized) and chicken dinner plate were hot and made with tasty, fresh ingredients and authentic spices. We were needy and the server was just so kind and attentive. Might I mention that all of this amazing service took place on a night when a downed tree had struck the awning/roof of the building (in the back, not affecting dining room or, apparently, kitchen)?! Astonishing that they were even open! Spend your money here!!

Yelp
Delicious lunch - cucumber margarita, enchiladas - cuisine from Jalisco Mexico!!! Great atmosphere + service!

Sherman B.

Yelp
The cuisine is authentic and well prepared, the service was outstanding, the portions more than adequate and the homemade salsa, green and red delicious. A restaurant that I shall frequent when in Napa, CA.

Yelp
Wow ! Took my kids for some Mexican cuisine outdoors. was sooo much funnn and our menu orders were also so delicious! Weather was perfect and our table next to the river just gave our experience a whole new vibe to this taqueria in Napa. Oh, and the service was fast on our meal orders, even as the crowd started coming in heavy!Love the professional Mariachi musicians setting the festive tone. Órale !!! Babalik tayo ! (We'll be back !) in Filipino.

Yelp
The food is always a good here and constant. Great place to stop after Saturdays Farmers Market.
google avatar

Yelp
One of the better burritos I had for breakfast in a long time. Perfect amount of potatoes, steak and egg. The two sauces that were served upon request , ended up being fresh, vibrant and added the right amount of kick.
google avatar

Arlene F.

Yelp
Delicious Mexican food patronized by locals. A big menu with a lot of variety. The seafood is their specialty. I would come back to try other dishes for sure. Service is efficient and fast.
google avatar

Denise M.

Yelp
I used their catering services for my husband's 60th birthday and it was wonderful! Everyone at the party kept talking about how excellent the food was. David helped me put together the menu and his staff got everything together on time. Highly recommend!

Yelp
This is a great restaurant that has grown from a old building on a underdeveloped part of an old street in Napa, to a new building with a great feel and outdoor seating options. All restaurant opinions are just that, opinions. That being said I really like this one. They serve authentic food that is flavorful and well presented, and put a lot of heart into it. Staff are friendly and upbeat, extra points for the mariachi band that played here walking around inside and out this Friday night. If you're in Napa, give them a try for some affordable and excellent Mexican fare.

Yelp
This review is for the toastab togo online ordering, I did not go and sit down to eat. Ordered chorizo and eggs. Tapped on boxes for extra stuff like rice, tortillas beans and whatnot. Price stayed at 14$ It didn't change. Picked up food and split. What I got was chorizo n eggs delicious cheese on top, big scoop of fruit(no mention of in description and not added by myself) and alittle guacamole and Pico de Gallo n lettuce which was good. I also got good size corn tortillas. Now, the website let's you add stuff which I did but-none of that stuff made it home. Couple weeks ago I ordered same chorizo n eggs and "assumed" I'd get rid n beans, tortillas, and I didn't cuz it says at bottom that no subs are allowed and any extras can be charged extra. Fast forward to today and I thought what the heck ill check rice n beans boxes, tortillas and see what happens. Price didn't change. And I didn't get what I'd hoped for. My advice for others is don't use the web ordering toastab and go and sit down. Went thru the menu to see what rice and bean sides ordered separately would add to my plate and about 27$ for chorizo and eggs. I think TM should go thru the settings on thier online order and make changes, or not offer web orders. I do like this place cuz they have mariachi groups in the summer, but 50deg today and rainy- nobody wanted to leave the house. It's kind of a double review ,but also a double lesson for me and web ordering.
google avatar

Debbie F.

Yelp
Food was very good but service is awful! They added items to the bill! There is a surcharge to use visa which they don't inform you of beforehand. Server argued with us about the charges even not admitting he got the tortilla order wrong. Bathrooms had no toilet paper or seat covers.
google avatar

Henri Suzie H.

Yelp
I recommended this spot to my sister as a great place to take our visiting relatives and I'm sorry I did. The food was ok but the service was terrible. My sister had to get up multiple times to ask for things like extra napkins while multiple servers were just hanging out , not paying proper attention. The bathroom was a disaster with no hand soap and an overflowing toilet. Sounds like the department of health needs to pop in for a visit. The sad thing is, the only reason I recommended this restaurant was because of the great food and service we used to get from the original restaurant before they built the new one. I don't know what it is about Napa restaurants, but it seems like they are all going down hill. My guess is they all make tons of tourist money regardless of the overall quality of the experience.

Stevi B.

Yelp
I ordered my food to go but the view from the patio looks really nice at the river! Wouldn't mind coming back for a Margarita in this weather. There were a lot of people coming in and out, so definitely appeared to be a popular stop. I went simple and ordered the enchiladas suizas with chips and salsa. I'd like to stop back in for an outdoor dining experience.

Lety F.

Yelp
chilaquiles were some of the best I have ever tasted, so much flavor. service was fast and great. would definitely return if im in area again.

Marc D.

Yelp
Another wonderful meal at TAQUERIA MARIA. Our server Tony R. was on top of our needs and made us feel like family. Thanks to Tony and the rest of the staff for making this a regular go to place!

Cristina G.

Yelp
Good drinks, good food, and good music especially on Fridays for mariachi. The service is always helpful and friendly and always checking up on the customers.

Les E.

Yelp
I'm going to be totally honest and say they definitely changed their flavors and seasonings to accommodate the tourist that come to town. It used to be so good and it would taste like real authentic Mexican food and now it's just disappointing.
google avatar

Kristen N.

Yelp
love this little spot! i had jot been in the "new building" as hubby always goes and we do to go food. they did a great job! the outdoor patios are awesome and plenty of indoor seating as well! our server was so nice and the food, as usual, was plentiful and delicious!

Yelp
$18 for a super cold burrito. And I mean, this wasn't even lukewarm. Their combo plates are usually fire but I'm not sure what happened here.

Norman S.

Yelp
No doubt abot it. Very customer oriented. Professionals working hard to make me comfortable. GREAT FOOD. I travel on my stomach. I WILL BE BACK. THANKS SENOR"S

Yelp
We used to love Taqueria Maria. It's been a once a week go to place for years. We loved the food and the warm and friendly service in the old location. Their chimichanga was one of the most amazing dishes ever! But then they moved into the new facility. Gone were the warm and friendly servers. Replaced by a bunch of snotty kids who act like they do you a favor by waiting on you. So we started getting take out. Once in a while for mariachi night where the service is downright incompetent, but mostly take out. Over the past month or so, even the take out has gone downhill. Three times in a row my wet burrito was cold. Again tonight, and tonight Julie's taco salad was missing the black beans. We're shopping for a new Mexican place. Any suggestions?
google avatar

John K.

Yelp
That 2% you put on my bill as a "credit card surcharge" that is shown nowhere on the menu? That's a cost of doing business. Study after study has shown that people spend more when using a credit card compared to when they use cash so stop the whining about how expensive the interbank fees are as an excuse to pass the cost on. When people go into debt rather than spending cash they spend more and you make more. So absorb the cost and stop being petty. That 2% surcharge turned into a 4% reduction in the tip. I suggest all customers do this at all businesses that nickel and dime such nonsense. The food was average.

Carla P.

Yelp
What a cute little spot right on the Napa River. We sat outside and it was beautiful! They have plenty of outdoor seating and as well as indoor it seemed. The food was all delicious (so was the house margarita!) and well priced. Our server Tony was great! He was so nice and made sure we were taken care of. Definitely will be back!

Karina M.

Yelp
Great food with great service & beautiful patio dining area. I come here often & am never disappointed.

Yelp
To all the people who wrote poor reviews of Maria... just stay away. This is the locals' favorite. If you want white tablecloth service, there are literally hundreds of places to go in the Valley. Leave Maria to us!! If you don't want the possibility of a visit from a rat or duck, don't eat outside by a river!! What are they supposed to do, eradicate all wildlife for your security? Maria is a gem. There have been nights when my family were the only non-Latinos in a packed and happy fiesta. It's a gem, and anyone who doesn't appreciate the great food and family atmosphere can go to any of those other snooty overpriced tourist traps featuring cable tv chefs that crowd the Napa culinary tourist maps. Leave Maria to the Napans!

Yelp
If you are looking for good Mexican food this is the place. Food is delicious and the customers service is great. Big bonus for having live Mariachi on Friday afternoons.

Juliet H.

Yelp
When I learned that they had a mariachi band on Fridays I was so excited! Unfortunately, I was discriminated against and after asking my waiter repeatedly to have them come to our table, they never came. Mine was the only table they didn't come to. We were the only "white" table. Finally, after 3 hours, they came and asked for 30$!! They said it was free for 2 hours and they were now charging. I was planning to tip them regardless. I was there at 6:30 and they walked past my table every time during the supposed "free" period! They only performed for Hispanic families. Some tables received 5 songs! I was heartbroken. My memories of the mariachi's growing up were so sweet. My grandfather is Hispanic and had them come to the table every time I went to visit him in San Antonio. I have so many great memories as a child and young adult before he passed away. I was heartbroken to be treated this way. It was pure discrimination and it felt awful. I don't wish that experience on anyone. I'm sure this review will not matter to most, but I was actually visibly upset as I left the restaurant. The Hispanic family sitting behind me backed me up and couldn't believe what was happening. To those where discrimination happens regularly, I send you all my love. This should never happen to anyone. I wont be back. I was humiliated, disappointed and heartbroken.

Yelp
Delicious Mexican food and a great view! Taqueria Maria is located right by Napa River off 3rd Street. On a nice day one can take a seat outside and enjoy the beautiful view of Napa River and the canoes and boats that slide by down below. I have tried their carnitas plate and taco salad with shrimp; both delicious! The service is good and the place makes it very easy to have a relaxing and enjoyable meal.
