"Latin-Asian fusion cuisine has been growing in popularity in the Metro Atlanta area, but one of the best places to get these kinds of dishes is right on the Marietta Square. Taqueria Tsunami, named for having "a tidal wave of flavors," was born to bring all the fantastic flavors from the Far East and South of the Border together on one plate. Taqueria Tsunami strives to use only the freshest ingredients, and it certainly shows in their dishes. Their unique menu offers something for any kind of appetite, from Thai chicken tacos and shrimp quesadillas to Far East rice bowls and Shanghai shrimp salads. If it's five o'clock somewhere in your mind, indulge in one of Taqueria Tsunami's signature cocktails or house-made sangrias. The desserts, appetizers and sides are just as astounding as the rest of their menu, so make sure to come hungry and ready to take a culinary adventure. Not only do they serve excellent food, but they give back to an excellent cause. Taqueria Tsunami is dedicated to serving their community, especially victims of tsunamis and natural disasters. A portion of the sales from their best-selling tacos are donated to the Georgia Red Cross, and they partner with local charities to help raise awareness and funds toward their cause. In all honesty, Taqueria Tsunami is the go-to lunch spot for the GreenMellen Media team. There isn't a dish we've tried that we weren't satisfied with, and it makes sense why this place is as popular as it is. From all of us at GreenMellen, we want to say "gratias tibi" and "고맙습니다" to Taqueria Tsunami for satisfying our tastebuds every time." - Green Mellen Media

What a wonderful and flavorful combination! Asian and Mexican food fusion! Everything was absolutely flavorful, delightful and exquisite! The star of the restaurant are their amazing taco combinations. We ordered multiple taco fusions including a Korean cauliflower taco, mushroom and tofu taco and Baja fish tacos! All were delicious. Will most definitely be back to try more of their amazing menu items!

Google
I would give my overall experience a 3.5-3.8 but giving it 4 stars because I see the potential. None of the food i had was hot. It was all lukewarm or on the colder side. I came here on a Wednesday afternoon. It was a 20 minute wait but it really only took 5 minutes we ordered the short Rib Quesadilla to start. It was lukewarm but it had a good amount of flavor. We got a side of Yucca fries and they were cold. Ordered 3 tacos and a side of tots. The tots were lukewarm at best. I ordered the rich man taco, Thai chicken taco, and the pacific rim taco. The pacific rim taco was a bit warmer than the other 2 but again just not hot enough. The tacos all have enough flavor so I would like to return but just have it fresh. Its weird because its so packed and busy you would think the food would be coming out very hot. Ordered the Jalapeño Cilantro margarita and it was good and strong. I would come back but I hope for the experience to be a bit hotter.

There are certain things in this world that I thought were a cardinal sin, and one of them is combining cuisines. This is Latin-Asian cuisine combo is a hit. First time visited and I was really impressed with the selection of dishes. The personnel are friendly and you get to enjoy a nice meal and view depending on your sitting area. Will definitely visit again.

Google
Cool vibes on the square. I really like this place. Our server was friendly, attentive and the food arrived very quickly even though there were a lot of patrons on a Saturday afternoon. We had the short rib quesadilla and a medley of three tacos. We had the Korean fried cauliflower, the aloha taco and the shrimp tempura. Yellow hot taco is my least favorite, but the other two were delicious. Everything was good and I was very very surprised at the price point of the entrees. My usual barometer for quality of Mexican food is chips and salsa. While the chips and salsa weren't real good here the food was way better than I thought it would be given the chips and salsa. I would definitely recommend this place to others!

Google
Best place on Marietta Square! The cheese dip & guacamole would be an amazing meal by itself but you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Tacos are always my go to!

Google
It was busy, but we ordered and got our food in a timely manner, following a 30 minute wait for a party of 8. Food is great! I ordered the tuna tacos from the appetizers section for my meal, and they were delicious!

Google
Doubling down on my first review below. Love this place! Great drinks, great food, and great service! Go there ASAP! Tsunami is a must stop anytime I’m in Marietta. The wait is always worth it and the service never disappoints. Had the Asian nachos for the first time on this visit…get them! And the tacos…all flavors…are great.

Google
Should out to my wonderful server for dinner tonight! For the life of me I cannot remember her name. She was great and ifnrimstice of the menu. I always forget which taco I like and she was so patient with me and recommended the most amazing adult beverage! It was their grapefruit drink! If you like sour it’s the drink to go for! I’ve always enjoyed coming here and will continue to get my tacos here while still living in Atlanta

Amanda W.

Yelp
Amazing food! Great customer service!friendly staff and very accommodating in a great location on the square

Yelp
A stroll around the town square while asking local shop workers for dinner recommendations made for a great conclusion. We were offered a variety of options but only one restaurant made the list from everyone asked. Taqueria Tsunami is an Asian Mexican fusion that won't disappoint. Sitting outside we enjoyed local bluegrass music while dining on an Asian noodle salad with steak, chips with salsa, short rib quesadillas, strawberry lemonade and for dessert S'more egg rolls. Our server Kamila served us well and helped with menu tips. The noodle salad and the quesadillas were delicious making for two superb sharing dishes. I would order this combination again. The s'mores were ok but the chocolate marshmallow filling melted away leaving mostly shell. Overall this restaurant deserved the shop keepers enthusiasm.

Yelp
My husband and I like the tacos here and decided to try something different this time. For starters we ordered the empanadas and the Korean Fried Cauliflower which both were delicious! For lunch I ordered the South of the.Boarder Bowl which was not good. The waiter said that he preferred the Chicken Enchilada Bowl over the one I ordered but I wanted something a little more healthier. I ended up switching it for the dish he recommended in the end. Next time, I will stick to the tacos the chicken bowl was good but I like the tacos better.

Katrina G.

Yelp
I decided to dine here for lunch last week. I was greeted immediately upon arrival by a waitress, the hostess was a bit abrupt. Once seated my server provided several suggestions and reviewed the menu with me. I ordered the short rib quesadilla and tots w/jalapeño queso. The food was good but not sure I would return. Street parking is available but can be hard to find.

Milton H.

Yelp
We were seated immediately just before noon. We ordered an Wnchilada Biwl and Garden Shrimp. Both were very enjoyable- both taste and presentation (appearance).

Danielle W.

Yelp
Let me start by saying the service was great and the presentation was good... This was my first time here (and very likely my last). The food wasn't bad, it just didn't live up to my expectations. For all my spicy lovers this is not it. I was told the Baja Taco mayo was spicy and even says it on the menu... extra Hot sauce (that's not hot) doesn't help. You are better off enjoying the taco with a bit of lemon and/or lime. It's fried fish so you can only expect so much. The same sauce is served with the fried yuca. The second taco I tried was the BBQ Short Rib. It wasn't bad. The meat was tender and the taco had just the right amount of cucumber salad on it that I found the flavors complimented each other well. For the price, I shouldn't complain. But I would have paid a bit more to have a good worthy experience. I didn't order a cocktail or dessert.

Abe C.

Yelp
Food, service and ambience was good. Great variety of food to choose from. I will definitely be back.

Meredith R.

Yelp
I'm always pleased when readers find my reviews of some value, but sometimes -- like now -- I write them for myself. When I go to any branch of Taqueria Tsunami I refer back, to see what I liked and what I didn't. ***On the "let's get it again" list: Shrimp tempura and Korean carnitas tacos with a side of cucumber salad. (Our waiter said it's made with rice vinegar, giving it a nice little kick.) ***On the "maybe" list: Asada Zing. I like the components, but the bulgogi is cut in chunks -- I prefer sliced or shredded -- and the meat is not as flavorful as what I'd get in Korean bbq. ***"Nope, not for me" list: rice and beans and house salad. Boring and boring. If you have access to one of these fusion restaurants, give it a try. They all appear to have outdoor seating, but the Marietta Square location has more to see.

Van N.

Yelp
Was ok, nothing to write home about. I hoping for something cool and new with the "fusion" but nah.

Anthony H.

Yelp
Really good wait staff, Roger was cool and helpful. Fun eating Latin/Asian fusion grub. The Watermelon Rose Sangria was not too dry, not too sweet. Tacos, bowls, really solid.

Anna S.

Yelp
This place is always busy and never disappoints! Portion sizes are perfect and reasonably priced. Best cocktail imo is the delicious jalapeño margarita. Barstaff is friendly and knowledgeable.

Stephanie D.

Yelp
Got here around 7 on a thursday night. They said the wait would be around 10-15 mins for a table of two but it ended up being less than 5 minutes. We got the noodle salad and tacos with tots. The tacos (asada zing, pacific rim, korean carnitas) were very flavorful and filling and the tots were nice and crispy. The noodle salad was also really good and service was quick!

Sarah P.

Yelp
We had a large party and reservation and they sat us quickly and were very attentive the whole time. The food was stellar. We went on a weekend so it was pretty loud/bustling, but that's to be expected. Would definitely go again!

Madalyn J.

Yelp
Absolutely love coming here for lunch, drinks, dinner, all of it! Service is great and the food is always delish. I love the far East bowl, Asian nachos, and the tuna poke tacos appetizer

Zoe S.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised with this place. We came on Tuesday at noon and the place was packed. I thoroughly enjoyed my tacos and my cucumber salad. I'll Definitely be back and try their Asian Nachos and bowls, because a table next to us got them and they looked sooo good! Parking was a bit challenging, but you can park a bit further out by the market, which is a short 3 minute walk

Marilyn B.

Yelp
I have eaten here a number of times and am never disappointed. I really love their avocado eggrolls to start. Then I always struggle with which tacos to order. My last visit, I ordered the BBQ short rib taco and the garden taco. I love both even though they are so different. They both pack a huge amount of flavor. The tater tots side with jalapeño queso is also a winner.

Tammi D.

Yelp
I came here to meet my friend in Marietta. I've actually been to Taqueria tsunami before but the one in Peachtree Corners. She suggested this location which was close to her house, and she typically always comes my way so I was happy to come hers for once. Taqueria tsunami is a restaurant that serves Mexican with an Asian flare if you want it. For instance, they have poke tacos. Best of both worlds! The menu is quite comprehensive with quesadillas, salads, bowls, tacos, and plenty of appetizers to choose from. The last time I went to the other location I didn't have the greatest meal but I figured why not try a different location and I'm glad I did. I was so hungry that I didn't even get pictures of my tacos. Sorry! We actually sat outside which was kind of nice. It's fun to just people watch and be able to not be indoors while enjoying a meal. We started with the guacamole. She asked for wonton chips, and those were really good with the guac. The guac was fresh and creamy. I would definitely get that again. for dinner, we both got tacos. I had the chicken lime and Thai chicken tacos and got a side of chipotle crema, which was divine. It definitely added to the flavor of the tacos and they were actually really good. Service was also friendly. Our food came out in a timely manner. All in all, definitely a good experience, and would be happy to come here again.

Darlene B.

Yelp
The service was on point. This address in Marietta was cute and it was their first location. The Asian Mexican fusion was insanely good. Bulgogi with marinated cucumbers on a flour taco. BBQ rib with cilantro also on a flour taco. Side Salad with tomatoes and cilantro lime dressing was so fresh. But the Krispy Fried cauliflower with sesame seeds and avocado was my favorite. Lunch at $14 was divine!

Danielle

Yelp
Food was very tasty and drinks were ok. Service was good and ambiance was ok. Pretty small bar and place but I would go back.

Holley M.

Yelp
The food here is delicious! So is the service! The ambiance is quite loud so you better take your date somewhere else. Get the Rich Man Poor Man Taco! It's quite good!

JD E.

Yelp
Very cool little spot in Marietta. They pair a cool atmosphere with an easy menu. There are a few vegetarian options here. I had the three vegetarian tacos. The Korean Fried Cauliflower taco was by far the best of the three. It had an unrivaled crunch with cabbage to even it out. We also had the edamame as an appetizer. The seasoning seemed heavy, but the bean balanced it perfectly. Service was swift, thanks to the keen hostess and the attentive waitress.

Rylie L.

Yelp
Tried this cute place on the Marietta Square, it was great! We sat outside and brought our pup. Our waiter was so friendly and accommodating! I got the southwest salad and they had so many dressings to choose from. My boyfriend got the steak, chicken and beef tacos and said they were all super good! Also pictured is the guac (and the portion is huge!) Great spot to try in Marietta

Candace B.

Yelp
Love Taqueria Tsunami! I've been here plenty of times over the years. Based on my experiences, the food has always been great. The service is good, the place is nice, and the prices are surprisingly affordable. I had lunch here again last week and the tacos were awesome, I recommend the pacific rim taco If you haven't been before- plan in some extra time to find parking and be aware that this place gets busy since it's so popular.

Nisha B.

Yelp
Food had way too much salt. It made my stomach hurt and both me and partner had a stomachache afterwards. We ordered the three tacos and a side as well as the Asian nacho. There aren't truly any Mexican or Asian flavors even though it is supposed to be a fusion restaurant. The rice and beans had no flavor whatsoever. The tacos tasted like pure salt and were dripping so were very unappetizing. The nachos were good at first but I think the overload of oil, salt, and cheese is hard to stomach. Also the service was not very quick. We were seated at a dirty table and told that someone would be back to clean in. No one ever came. We weren't given silverware or napkins until our entrees came out (which means we ate our nachos appetizer without any of the above). At the end when we were ready to go we had to get up to ask someone for a box and the check. Spent $50 for a dinner for two just to leave with a stomach ache. Would not be back and would not recommend

Yelp
First visit to this popular place on Marietta Square. I did something I never done before: we ate lunch and then later ate dinner here as well. Yes, it was that good! Their prices are also very reasonable. For lunch I had a couple of their tacos, you just can't go wrong with these (Especially the Thai chicken taco!) add a side of black beans and rice, they were fine. For dinner I had the chicken enchilada bowl, it was fresh and outstanding! Add a side of tater tot's with jalapeño queso dip - excellent! They have a full menu of libations, which are also fantastic (my wife enjoyed the watermelon rosé sangria). We sat outside on the sidewalk for both visits.

Michael K.

Yelp
Located in Marietta Square, this place has indoor and outdoor seating. Not fancy, come as you are. Prices are reasonable and service is quick. Tried the poke tacos appetizer and this was the best item of our sampling. Had a bulgogi taco and a short rib taco. The bulgogi was good but could have been a little more flavorful. The short rib was tender but presented with cucumber atop and this was missing something to make it memorable. The chicken tenders on the kids menu were huge and tender and even good heated up later on. Beans and rice on the side again lacked flavor. The rice used was white rice and the black beans were very bland. Tried the "Sanrita" (margarita w/a sangria float). This was really sweet and short on the alcohol. All in all, clean, low budget and edible. This isn't going to be a place you are dying to get back to but the food is good and fits the bill when ur hungry and happen to be in the area.

Christina M.

Yelp
We ordered the nachos-always delicious Have never had anything here that as not delicious. Highly recommend. Always busy but worth it!

Vega K.

Yelp
Ambiance and overall feel of the restaurant is casual and inviting. Pretty busy for going on a weekday so we got some drinks at the bar as we waited. Drinks were well balanced and service was nice and prompt. The menu offered fusion cuisine inspired from Asian/Mexican dishes and we ordered the poke tacos, Asian nachos, and Korean fried cauliflower. Food was good, nothing extraordinary.

Joseph G.

Yelp
Have the mango margarita! Been to 3 of their locations. They're all excellent. The Asian style nachos are a must try.

Jordan L.

Yelp
Great service Excellent Food Open seating Nice atmosphere Parking nearby Great selection

Andy A.

Yelp
Really our only go to place in Marietta Square. Great food and staff. Make a reservation and get right in. Always busy so if you don't make a reservation expect to wait a long time.

Cosby C.

Yelp
This is a review about salsa. First up though, the food is great and the menu is excellent. I haven't tried everything but so far nothing has left me wanting. Tacos are great, and they have tatter tots you dip in queso. That's all you need to know really. Tatter tots in queso... it's brilliant, delicious, and everyone should order it once. But the salsa is sub-par. And you must pay for it? If it was great salsa, if it had a flair that made me want more, or something special that set it apart from anywhere else, then sure. I've paid for salsa and been like "this was worth it". But this, I could get better at Kroger, pay less, and take it home with me. The TLDR version of this review: Food great, salsa bad.

Erin R.

Yelp
It was the first time we came here and it didn't disappoint! Not only was our food amazing, our server Jeremy was friendly, helpful, and very quick. We will absolutely come again and recommend anyone to visit.

Sean K.

Yelp
Mix of Asian and Latin flavors featuring rice bowls with Latin ingredients and tacos with Asian ingredients. Guacamole, avocado egg rolls and empanadas all made from scratch. The service was very fast and friendly along with a great vibe in the restaurant. The restaurant was very busy and the staff was taking care of everyone. I definitely have Taqueria Tsunami on my frequent dining list!

Cinde V.

Yelp
We go here all the time and it it typically Great food and service! Great cocktails, tacos, quesadillas and the avocado egg rolls are a must. My only complaint is when there is a wait when the restaurant is half empty. Overall, great spot and better than the other locations IMO.

Anne R.

Yelp
Get in before 5:30pm to secure a table, as it was full by 6pm, and then you're waiting for a 7:30pm turn over on tables. (Or do takeout) Menu and atmosphere are fun, flavorful, and playful blending of Mexican and Asian flavors. If you like BBQ pulled pork- go for that Bulgogi Quesadilla- flavors are so similar. Fish Taco Fan? Try the Pacific Rim Taco Carne Asada? Asada Zing Taco Teriyaki Chicken & Mayo what?! Aloha taco All flavors were great and I definitely had a food baby in my tummy for hours later after adding in some Queso dip to start and churros to finish. Great service and lovely atmosphere. Didn't even matter that our fortune cookies didn't have fortunes! How lucky is that?!?

Josh D.

Yelp
Average at best. If you enjoy Olive Garden type food you will enjoy this place. Nothing really special to say about to be honest, it's just average culinary cooking at its finest.

Phillip P.

Yelp
We eat on special occasions, but when we do the food is great, the service is great, and the food and the ambiance is inviting.

Martha C.

Yelp
I always order the tofu tacos! The infusion of flavors is delicious! Service is excellent. Very clean restaurant!

Ashley C.

Yelp
This place has been our go-to for when friends are in town, one of our favs. Last time we went there, I had a reservation at 6. The high top I requested wasn't held for us. I was told the wait would be 10 mins. 40 mins later, we asked for a booth. Fine. Food was good. Drinks were good. Service was good until... we closed out and ordered 1 more round of drinks. About half way through the drinks, the server came back and rudely said "I'm sorry is there anything else I can do for you? We have 25 people waiting." And he kicked us out. Not cool. I get it. You want to turn tables on a busy night (I served and bartended for 10 years). But you don't treat people that way.. especially when folks just ordered drinks that made your bill $20 more. We were obviously wrapping up our drinks and conversation after having to wait 40 mins. I won't be spending my $ here anymore. Do better. PS - There were flies flying everywhere INSIDE. We had to wave them away constantly while we ate. And it was so hot and muggy indoors. Gross.

Sadé R.

Yelp
Quick, friendly service. The kitchen was kicking out food quickly during the lunch rush. Perfect for someone who has a hour lunch break and works close in the area. They are located right in the Marietta Square. Inside and outside seating is available. Parking can be a little tricky. I managed to grab a free 2 hour parking spot, but paid parking lots are available in walking distance as well.

Ron D.

Yelp
Super fresh sushi & meal- great service; outstanding margaritas; would recommend for anyone

Jeff P.

Yelp
Great food, great service but a little noisy if you want to have a conversation. This is a favorite Saturday lunch destination

Caitlin H.

Yelp
This is a favorite lunch spot for me. They have very tasty fusion food, and the service is fast! It's a relaxed vibe and you can hear yourself talk, or get work done.

Sean J.

Yelp
Food is great. The ambiance was not great because of all the dirty tables. I would be back because I like the food.

Mellany J.

Yelp
Great food and great margaritas. I love this place!! They have the robots that deliver your food items and that is soo cool!

Jayna P.

Yelp
The drinks are made well here but the food doesn't shine as much. The avocado rolls are good. But the rice bowls are so bland and flavorless here. I'd come here for drinks and apps.

Darla F.

Yelp
I love the Taqueria Tsunami both in Woodstock and in the Marietta Square. They offer a variety of food choices that are healthy, filling, and reasonably priced. My favs are the korean bbq rib, shrimp, and fish tacos, Shanghai shrimp salad, and Tsunami bowls.

Doris G.

Yelp
Great food and good variety!! Usually order delivery and food has always been delivered on time!

Robyn G.

Yelp
Freshest margaritas in town! Food is delicious. Have tried almost everything on the menu. THEY HAVE TATOR TOTS COVERED WITH CHEESE!! Great place to sit outside. Nice atmosphere inside and bartenders are some of the most attentive and best ones in the city. I could go there every day.
