How the historic city of Chennai is going global - SilverKris
"An independent publisher housed in a quirky, light-filled 'Book Building' that produces handmade, illustrated books prized by children and art collectors; internationally acclaimed and praised by critics for high artistic standards, it serves as a creative hub connecting local and global artists." - Vivek Menezes
Cute little bookshop ideally located (Thiruvanmiyur) where you can find curated books in Tamil, English, Japanese, French and Korean. The notebooks and cards are super cute. On the first floor you can find beautiful pieces (clothes and home decor) by Studio Tolsta. You can also sit and read. A must when in Chennai 💛

This place is a ‘must see’ for anyone who loves exquisite handmade books and beautiful handmade prints. While these have a modern design aesthetic, they reference a combination of contemporary and traditional subject-matters and iconography. They also have a range of naturally dyed textile products. A real gem fir all bibliophiles in Chennai.

One my favourite publishing houses in India. The collection of books and art forms they have got is soo unique. I was Soo happy to visit the store in person after purchasing their books online from many years now.
During my visit, I got a chance to interact with Mr. Helmut Wolf who showed few videos of the making of Tara books. And it was lovely of the staff Ms. Sudha who was there to explain about the art forms and the books we are interested in.
It was a wonderful visit. Can’t wait to go back.

It's likely that anyone looking up this specific store on Google already knows about tarabooks. It's a cute store and the staff was super helpful.
One major plus of visiting this while you're in chennai - you can see any original prints from their art series on display as well as available for purchase. In addition to their collection of books of course.

Artful space which really makes you think creative. The book and the stationary collection are good. Located in a residential area should be difficult to locate but do visit if you are a creative person. The space for discussion and hanging out will encourage you to spend more time here.

It's a beautiful little studio of books and art, and the worlds that the two bring with them. It's a must visit for any lover of aesthetics too!
