Spent 2 nights at this lovely clean and quaint hotel definitely 4 star in quality. Plenty of staff all super friendly and helpful especially at breakfast which was superb. Great value for the money we paid. Room was very clean and well appointed. Would appreciate air-conditioned room especially in hot weather which it was. Had to have windows open as it was so hot but being on the back there was noise from the trains and seagulls raiding the bins across the road. Didn't sleep great. Location good but area not so there are a few undesirables around. We had no problems with them just made you feel uncomfortable. Overall a nice small hotel with great staff.

Clean, efficient, nice accommodations in Belfast. We visited during a heat wave and wish we had air conditioning, but the front desk staff provided a fan upon request. Friendly staff. The included breakfast was top quality and delicious.

The Tara Lodge in Belfast is highly recommendable. From the lovely and helpful receptionist Aeofe to the very accommodating wait staff everything was pleasant and easy. There is on site parking, a big bonus and the rooms are well-appointed and very clean and comfy. It's not a chain and being privately owned makes the difference. I will definitely stay there again on my next trip to Belfast.

Just returned from another great stay at the Tara. From the moment you walk in the front door to a warm welcome to the minute you leave it is just fantastic. Rooms are spotless and the beds and pillows are fab. |It also has to be the best breakfast in Belfast. Fresh produce and plenty of it and the staff are great. ood Cleaning team and front of house staff are brilliant.

Breakfast is good and rooms are relatively clean. Apart from that, hotel is closer to a 1 star than a 3. There is no air conditioning, the hotel looks like it was last updated in the 1980s, it reeks of humidity and has a shower that you wouldn’t want to be in for longer than a few minutes. There are only about 10 parking spots at the property and after that you are left to find street parking. Not worth the money to stay here, would look elsewhere.

Had a two night stay here in June. A lovely hotel, our room very spacious, the staff were lovely and really helpful. A good location within a 15minute walk to centre of Belfast. Breakfast is lovely with plenty of choice. We hope to return.

The room I stayed in was very well kept. Looked like the room was very recently refurbished. Area is quite after about 10 p.m. before has frequent train service nearby. Good sized bed, and bathroom. Has a minifridge, kettle, hairdryer. Breakfast was very tasty. You can get a fresh made order of hot food and there is also a buffet to select from.

Yelp
The staff here are super friendly and helpful. Stayed three days and two nights. The location is great for getting around by car or foot. Anytime I had a question, the staff were eager to help. The rooms are equipped with a hair dryer and even and ironing board. The beds are so comfortable. The breakfast, which is included in the room rate, so delicious. Parking is first come first serve, and the parking area isn't all that big. But I didn't have any issues with parking. Might be harder on a weekend. Many restaurants and pubs within walking distance. Queens uni, ulster museum, and botanical gardens are well within walking distance. If I'm ever in Belfast again, this is the place I will stay, hands down the best!

Yelp
My brother and I were travelling through Ireland and stayed for one night at Tara Lodge. We found it in a B & B guide, literally the day before, and they were very happy to set us up with a place to stay in Downtown Belfast. While the room itself felt more like a hotel room with two double beds than a traditional Bed & Breakfast, the spread in the morning was what one would expect in Ireland: rashers, brown bread, eggs, plump, juicy Irish sausages and an assortment of yogurts and cereal. There was on site security, friendly, courteous staff, and the overall feel of the place seemed both trendy and family friendly. The neighborhood near Queen's University felt completely safe, and it was crawling - I MEAN CRAWLING - with some of the most beautiful women I have ever seen. Unbelievable, truly a cosmopolitan neighborhood in the heart of the city. If you would prefer to have a more authentic Irish experience, just head on over to the Falls Road to inspect the political murals, or head up north about 50 minutes to the Bushmills distillery or Giant's Causeway. I would have rated Tara Lodge a 5/5, but I find the link on their website for a neighboring nightclub catering to homosexuals very tasteless, especially for something which could have been good for families. If they were to drop the link, Tara Lodge would get a 5/5 from me.

Yelp
I highly recommend this hotel. It was very clean which to me is important. Room was warm at night but we opened up window which helped. I can't say enough good things about the front desk the girl there was so helpful and answered all my questions she was wonderful and made our stay even better. It may not be in the center of Belfast but about a 2 min walk and you are near tons of pubs and restaurants. We ate in 2 restaurants both amazing food. If I am ever in the area again I would stay here I can't say enough good things about this hotel.

Yelp
Interesting location, near the university. Not a traditional hotel front, just blends into the row houses, so make sure you keep a look out. Parking in the back is awesome, I would not want to park on these streets. The streets are full of university kids, with lots of cheap/meh food options around, and some a bit nicer. A bit loud at night due to street noise from drunk kids walking home. Close enough to city center to just walk there for food/bars/etc though, which is a nice perk with the free parking. Nice decor, nice sized rooms. Staff was absolutely the friendliest bunch of people I've ever encountered. From the front desk to kitchen to housekeeping, everyone was delightful. Very refreshing. They are why this isn't a 3 star review. Breakfast was included with my rate and it was quite good. More options than I'd seen anywhere else, and made to order. I paid 15 pounds for a buffet at a previous stop, so this was very well appreciated. Eggs were cooked perfectly every time, lots of pastries to choose from, coffee that isn't instant!! The bad... "King" bed was 2 twin beds pushed together. NOT what you expect for a 4 star hotel. Very uncomfortable night's sleep, especially in the cold. Maybe it's because I'm from LA, but it was COLD. I had to call reception to get the heat turned on a couple of times a day because late September is still considered "summer" and they had it turned off... Shower was a bit wonky... it worked, but didn't seem to drain fast enough and the shower head couldn't be pushed up far enough, so I was basically standing on top of the drain. A few rips/stains on the carpet and bed, but nothing too bad. I just can't get over the bed. I've never seen anything so ridiculous.

Yelp
Ah, finally, I found the business card of this little hotel in Belfast. It was very cozy, with great linens, bit flat screen TV, awesome bathroom soaps/shampoo and absolutely well located. I will definitely suggest it if you stop there for a few days.

Yelp
This was a lovely place to overnight in Belfast. Comfortable beds, helpful staff and a GREAT location! I was very impressed with Belfast (though the herd of Germans who "stole" my shuttle to the bus tour didn't impress me...the driver however returned to get me and felt bad because he thought I was in with them! I actually wished HE could've just driven me around...he was great!)...it's a town that's seen it's share of "the troubles" but has risen above those troubles. They have a positive attitude, scads of hope and they seem to be doing the right things to bring Belfast back around. The weekend after I was there, the MTV European Music Awards was held there..."Game of Thrones" (HBO series) is being filmed there...and they are trying such unique things as bringing hockey to Northern Ireland. All in all, I really liked Belfast. Being a child of the 80's...I wanted to see what we'd all heard so much about. But instead of seeing a tragic place...I saw a lovely city in the midst of transition. Plus...I had a great place to stay. Quiet (even with the train right behind) and comfortable...plus the desk ladies steered me right in sending me to Scalini Italian restaurant for dinner! I'd love to return and would definitely stay at the Tara Lodge!

Yelp
Friendly staff. Convenient to train station and center of town. Spacious rooms and very affordable. Used the online service and got a discount on the rate.

Yelp
We reserved Tara Lodge online and were not disappointed. The rooms were spacious and clean. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was very good. Wifi too. Water pressure and flow was great in the showers. Overall a great experience!

Yelp
My wife and i just spent two nights here while staying in Belfast and I cannot say enough positives about this place. The staff was went above and beyond expectations from check in to check out. The room was clean and up to date. We even had a great breakfast downstairs our second morning. Will be back to Tara Lodge and Belfast!

Yelp
Friendliest, most helpful staff I've encountered on my trip here in Ireland/Northern Ireland. Not posh. Not pretentious. Just a good, solid place to stay. I had the breakfast (included in my prebooked room price) and it was a good spread compared to some others I've had. Quiet neighborhood. Convenient for walking to the city center. Enjoyed my stay here.

Yelp
Reasonable, clean, spacious and excellent service is the best way to describe the place. Breakfast is excellent and the Power Porridge my favorite. Staff are very friendly and willing to go the extra step to help you. Location is convenient and parking, wifi and breakfast is included. What more can you want for a short stay in a city ?? :-) Will definitely come back here anytime.

Yelp
Excellent customer service (was served by Olivia), excellent breakfast (pancakes were great), the tea, coffee and mini packs of biscuits came in handy as I arrived without lunch. Place is walkable from the city centre - 10 to 15mins

Yelp
I searched out this boutique hotel ater a very unsatisfactory stay in a B&B on Malone Road previously. I was delighted when I did. The website was helpful and informative, the photos of the rooms looked great and it was located walking distance from where I would be working - the walk would also take me through the Botonic Gardens. It is located in student central so the surrounding roads are littered with digs and investment properties - many of which are run down or abandoned. However the location is ideal for reasonable eateries and there are several pubs around for a quick pint. The rooms were, happily, as stylish, clean and ordered as they looked in the website gallery. There is wifi for all guests, tea and coffee facilites in each room and all the usual extras and a gorgeously comfortable bed. The piece de resistance was the most exquisite poached eggs cooked to order (ie not sitting on a buffet warming tray for several hours). I am looking forward to breakfast in the morning and will definitely be coming back here next time I'm in Belfast.

Yelp
We arrived, completely exhausted, and were met by Janine. she was very bubbly and sweet, and agreed to easily accommodate us, though we were early (by 3 hours). After a day and a half of travel, this was most welcome. Our room was ready, very clean, and super comfortable. The couple minor tiny things, the first one we really did not, at that point, care much, was the spastic bathroom light that did not seem to have a good connection and, so, flickered on and off in a way that could easily cause an epileptic episode if you happened to have epilepsy; otherwise was simply annoying.. we chose to ignore it. The second one was that our room faced the Botanic rail station, which serviced unbelievably ugly black smoke coughing engines that screeched to start up and slow down.. at various times during the evening and morning. This was not so easily ignored, though we tried. If you come here, ask for a room on CROMWELL STREET, not on the back side as you will sleep much better! But again - we were exhausted and so, this was wonderful! Janine was super helpful and pointed us in directions that saved us a lot of time. We woiuld very easily come back - thanks so much!

Yelp
Having traveled internationally for 40 years, I can say with full confidence that this location is a very unique "treasure". The reception, managed by Sinead, was first class. The location is ideal, and we had a lovely room on the back of the hotel. Make sure you have the "Irish Warmer' for breakfast. We stayed in Five Star hotels and Castles for two weeks - but the highlight is this "Boutique Inn". A very special experience and so central to all you want to do in Belfast!!
