I’m the person who bought the iPad from this Target store in Eatontown (Route 36), and what happened to me was completely unacceptable. I paid in cash on June 13th for a brand new iPad. The box was sealed. When I opened it a few days later, there was a Samsung tablet inside, and the packaging looked like it had been glued shut. I went back to the store with everything — the receipt, the box, and the wrong tablet — and I was treated with disrespect and suspicion. Instead of helping me, the staff acted like I was lying and made me feel humiliated. I know what I bought, I know what I received, and I came back looking for a fair solution. I never expected to be treated this way. I’ve filed a formal complaint with the State of New Jersey. I just want what I paid for.

I just heard what happened to a friend of mine at this Target in Eatontown, and I honestly couldn’t believe it. He and his family bought an iPad there, paid in cash, and when they opened the box at home, there was a Samsung tablet inside. They returned to the store with the receipt and everything in hand, expecting it to be resolved. Instead of helping, the employees laughed at them, refused to take responsibility, and treated them like they were trying to scam the store. It’s honestly disgusting behavior from a company this size. They’ve already filed a formal complaint with the state, and they should. No one deserves to be disrespected like that after being the victim of a mistake that wasn’t theirs. Hope Target does the right thing.

I found out about something that happened to a friend’s family at the Target in Eatontown and I couldn’t stay quiet They bought what was supposed to be a brand new iPad, paid in cash, and when they opened the box, it was a Samsung tablet inside. Yes, a completely different product inside a sealed box They went back to the store with the receipt, the wrong item, the box, everything. And instead of solving the issue, the staff laughed at them and treated them like they were lying It’s upsetting to see honest people being disrespected like this. They did everything right and were humiliated for it I really hope Target takes responsibility and makes this right

Every single visit to this Target has been awful. The customer service desk staff have no idea what they’re doing—it’s like chaos every time. When I try to make a simple payment on my Target credit card, it turns into a 15-minute ordeal with employees running around the store trying to figure it out. Every other Target in New Jersey can handle this in under two minutes without any issue. The staff here seem completely clueless and disconnected from what’s going on around them. I’ve given this location multiple chances, but I’m done. I will never shop at this store again. Target really needs to get their act together at this location.

Worst target experience ever. Walked into the customer service desk and noone there for 5 min. Someone comes out from the back and says I'm really busy, slight attitude. I asked to do a return and I explained I didn't have the receipt, the employee said no I need to ask if I am allowed. She walked away and in 2 min came back and asked me all these questions about apps and cards etc. I explained that I do not have a receipt, they were gifts. She said no we can't do the return. I asked if the policy was changed that no target does returns without receipts and she said yes. I asked to speak to the manager and she went to get him. Another employee came up and I explained the same and he said we don't do returns without receipts. I asked if the policy changed, where is that policy update. He said in the website after he looked around for it on the walls and counters. I already reviewed every posting and nothing said no returned without receipts. I asked for the customer service number and left. I called the number he gave me and the agent said that that is not the policy. Target does process returns without receipts. Then he suggested I try another target. Unbelievable that I have to drive around to find a Target that will process a return.

I wasn’t there when it happened, but a very close friend of mine had an awful experience at this Target in Eatontown. She bought what was supposed to be a new iPad, paid in cash, and when she opened the box at home, there was a Samsung tablet inside. Yes, a completely different product inside a sealed Apple box. She went back to the store with the receipt, the box, and the wrong item, and instead of helping her, the staff laughed at her and treated her like she was doing something wrong. It was humiliating and unprofessional. She’s already filed a complaint with the state because this situation is unacceptable. People deserve to be treated with respect, especially when they’re clearly the ones being wronged. I hope Target takes this seriously and fixes it.

I was with my friend at the Target in Eatontown (Route 36) when we returned to the store to fix a serious issue — and we were treated with total disrespect. My friend bought a sealed iPad with cash. When we opened the box at home, it had a Samsung tablet inside, glued shut. We brought everything back: the receipt, the box, and the wrong product. Instead of helping, the staff laughed at us and treated us like we were doing something wrong. We were calm, polite, and brought all the evidence. They refused to help in any way. This experience was extremely disappointing and humiliating. We have already filed a complaint with the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs. This is not how customers should be treated.

My Sons and I visited the Target in Eatontown today upon leaving the store we were asked to see our receipts of purchase, which we kindly showed. We are African American and no one else was asked for receipts after us. Im very disturbed by this. Im a long standing Target card member. I will no longer shop in Target and I will be cancelling my Target Credit Card Immediately. How horrible of you to treat my family this way. My Sons have never seen racism in person until today.

Yelp
New location that's closer to me, so thumbs up for that. Every staff member I met there (including Starbucks) was new - literally their first day. It was amusing because I helped them figure out some stuff. My quick trip to get joggers was successful - 1 star off because I had to wait a really long time and took forever for someone to get their fitting rooms open.

Yelp
This Target is not full size. It's miniature and has very limited items. I feel like my trip here was a waste of time to be honest. Very disappointed. Half the shelves were empty and staff were unboxing but super slowly and talking amongst one another and not paying attention to customers. I won't go back here.

Yelp
They never have anything in stock. I always have to go to the one in ocean because there is never anything I need there. This is out rages since this is a new store and should be keeping up with keeping things in stock. Plus only teenagers work there so half the time they don't know where anything is!
