Where do I start? This particular location has gone downhill and at this point, I am convinced that I should take my business elsewhere.
This week I placed an order for pickup. The pickup process was straightforward with no issues, however, when I got to the main floor, I briefly placed my 6 Target bags down to quickly make sure that I received all of the items that I purchased. Most of my purchases are for “order pickup”, so this is a regular habit for me.
The associate on the floor (I found out that they were “Security”) approached me and asked, "What I am doing?" and before I could respond, stated that “No one was allowed to “hang out” in this area”. Confused, I replied that I just picked up my order and wanted to briefly review it before exiting the store. The associate completely disregarded my explanation and stated AGAIN, that “No one is allowed to hang out in this area”. This employee was nasty!!
I understand that there may be an issue with people loitering in their store, however, it was clear, well at LEAST TO ME, that I was a paying customer, not someone whose intention was to “hang out” in the store.
What makes this matter worse, was when I spoke to the Manager, they made all kinds of excuses for the employee. After this discussion, it was very clear that the customers are expected to “hurry up and buy” and exit their store. We are not allowed to review our orders, or during bad weather, wait for our Ubers; no, we must leave IMMEDIATELY!! Target, this is no way to treat your customers! This is unacceptable!
Just in March, I spent over $700 at this location. I am a regular, not someone who is “hanging out” in their store (ex: homeless, students, door dash workers, etc).
It is clear that Target hired a bunch of simpletons, who are unable to distinguish between a paying customer and someone who has no intention of patronizing their store.
Please avoid this location if you can! The decline in sales will hopefully teach them to treat their customers better!
