Excellent prices great location clean floors and displays. Plus size friendly changing. rooms pharmacy and food.nice selection of house items cleaning products fashions. Only 1 small inconvenience... The restrooms need serious renovation or a real good sanitizing session. I miss self check out and staff kind and helpful

This location was close to my hotel on a recent visit to the city. The store appeared well organized and managed and they had everything I needed.

Their service is extremely poor, especially the Asian cashier — to be specific, the Asian female cashier — who has a very, very bad attitude. I have lived here for a long time and always bought everything from this store, but today is the last time I will ever shop here. I will no longer put up with the Asian female cashier’s attitude.

The supermarket was fine. I expected quite more from the selection of ready to eat food. It has some good selection of products though

So MANY dogs in the grocery aisles! Rottweiler, doberman, pitbulls and tiny little dogs...so many that I thought it might be legal but it isn't and it's unsanitary. Also almost all the cosmetics are locked up and the store didn't feel safe.

Due to the products being kept locked inside cabinets shopping becomes very time-consuming. I understand that there may be high levels of shoplifting in the area, possibly related to increased homelessness, but it’s difficult to enjoy the experience when you constantly have to ring for assistance and wait for someone to open the cabinet. Perhaps I am simply not used to this as a tourist but the essence and convenience of shopping feel lost.

I love this target!! I go her atleast once a week sometimes more. It has gotten slightly more annoying with everything being locked up and needing to be opened by a staff member... Majority of the times I need something unlocked or opened I end up neverminding it because after waiting over 8 mins for a staff member not to show up is pretty annoying... Every single time I'm here I see minimum 4-6 peope stealing. I definitely have some ways that they can help prevent theft alot more than they are currently, but then they wouldn't get all the insurance money ,😅 Lastly I do love this target and will continue to visit her weekly.

I was in area & needing to do some shopping. I got a few items here & there. I was really happy to see these thick ass pork chops (I said thick ass!) . So that made me decide, OK dinnertime! I decided to get other items to complete Meal & I found everything I needed. Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy!

This target was interesting. It would have items I'm not sure anyone needed but the things I needed were either out or stock or they didn't carry at this location. As you enter there's a Starbucks on the ground floor. Before going up the escalators i said hi to the security guard and the target loss prevention speciality as well as grabbed a bag for my umbrella since it was raining and didn't want to create a mess. In addition to not finding most of my items it wasn't a very well labeled store. Usually most chain stores have some sort of uniformity but this one was a very confusing for me and my group. Shelves were semi bare too. Perhaps everyone stopped by here due to the rainstorm and cleared a lot of it out? Perhaps it's because it's a centralized location and there's a lot of foot traffic? Not sure why. Employees were helpful. It helps that I spoke Spanish and was able to communicate with them in their home language. Problem was because of it being a poorly labeled store, I had to keep asking them for support. It was clean and smelled pretty decent. There wasn't a ton of cashiers so the lines were pretty slow. As I waited by the Starbucks for my Lyft which was about a 30 min wait. Security stopped two people. Unfortunately both of them were of color. Security asked for proof of receipt. One gave it to them right away. About 20 mins later they stopped another guy. The second guy kept asking why since there was many others seemingly walking in and out with big items that weren't in bags. He finally showed them it but it didn't feel right to me that both of them were Black men. It feels like it has the potential to be better but sadly comes in at 2 stars.

Push the button and wait for an employee to show up and grab the socks you want out of the plexiglass cabinet. And wait. And wait. And wait. Still waiting. Oh look, here she comes! Aaaand...she turned off the flashing button and walked away. Really, Target?

I just came from this store, and there are so many things under lock and key it's crazy. There were still crazy people running around screaming. I still give this place 5 stars because it's the only major retailer left, and the employees are working under horrible conditions to keep this place together.

I haven't been inside a Target in awhile (years - actually) - so I had a true blast making a visit here yesterday. I felt like an unattended kid - with my cart and big grin - loading up my basket with towels, pillow cases, special detergent, a linen robe - and so much more. I was so excited about the current selection here - from natural kitchen wipes - to a sweet collapsable hamper - that if my cart wasn't so full with items - I would have spent hours in here. Literally. The best part about this store - is that it seems (from my experience) to be staffed by fantastic employees. I realized after checking out - that my basket was full of brimming bags and I would definitely need some help with them. I had never done such a big shop at this particular Target and wasn't sure the best way to navigate bringing my stuff down to an Uber - since you can't bring carts down the escalator/stairs. A wonderful staff member directed me to an amazing employee - who went out of their way to help me navigate the cart in the elevator and instructed me on the best spot to grab an Uber and helped me walk the cart over to the Uber - amidst a sea of downtown walkers. The employee was a true angel and I wish I had caught her name - because she deserves so much props! She navigated that cart like a pro through downtown SF. Thank you! I'm already planning my next return visit to this Target. It's honestly such a blessing that the city has this outstanding resource in the downtown area. I know from past late night trips here, that it's been key throughout the years for picking up basic food and self care items. Trust.

Went in for a few things and like another reviewer said, half the store is in plexiglass. Can't shop in peace. Never seen so many large dogs in a store either it's like a petting zoo. Nothing impressive and I'm a member. Maybe if I return I will order online and pick up so I can out of there. All the self checkout machines were down too, Service was meh and the value is al it's good. .

This Target is honestly not too bad. It's not amazing that you need to ride a crowded escalator to get up to it and it's not as large as other Targets, but beyond their travel section (which is frequently essentially empty), they always had all our other items in stock. They do have quite a bit of theft deterrent in place, but I actually prefer the way this Target is laid out so that all the personal care items are in one line as it makes it easier to shop, over having everything laid out on the edge so you have to circle the store to pick everything up. It's easy to stop in, drop by self checkout, and pop back out. The one loss of star is that the self checkout associates sometimes loudly call out to you to try and force you to go through the staffed checkout. I don't know who trained them to do this, but it's aggressive and the fact the entire line ignores them should clue you in. Otherwise this Target definitely comes in in the clutch, and we definitely appreciated having them next door when we stayed at the Marquis.

It's really frustrating when nobody picks up the phone when it's part of their job to answer customer's inquiries. So, they need to improve this area of customer service so customers doesn't need to be there in person in order to find out for themselves. Actually, Macy's has the same problem too. No staff ever answers the phone eversince they opened for business in person from the pandemic.

Nice to see a target near where the hotel is. I already stopped in twice for some daily essentials that I forgot to bring on the trip. It also amazed me that toothpastes and over the counter medications have to be locked up. I guess this is the inner city?

I love this Target because of all of the staff who works there. They are professional, customer service oriented, and friendly. I always appreciate the professional assistance with Courtnie, the checker. He always seems to know what items I should insure. Thank you for doing such a great job.

This store is located in the San Francisco Union Square neighborhood. The hours are shorter than other locations and this store locks up a lot of things. You have to ask an associate to buy some common household items. There are also some homeless people that walks around inside the store, but the store also have police presence. It is convenient to have this store in the neighborhood, but you have to be alert of your surroundings.

Let me begin by saying I'm a tourist. I placed an order online for pick-up but needed to stop in for a few items as well. When I selected this location it was due to it's proximity to my hotel - I was not (and truthfully, still am not) familiar with the various boroughs in SF so this may not be in a sketchy part of town but it certainly felt sketch once inside. Everything is locked up behind plexiglass due to shoplifting. We needed bar soap and it was behind glass. It's whatever - just something to note. It was less the plexiglass and anti-shoplifting measures and more the general vibe of the store that earns this location a one-star rating. It felt chaotic and off. I wanted to gtfo as soon as humanly possible and was stoked to have my pick-up items and leave. Not sure of the other options - perhaps delivery would have been a better choice. I'll know for next time. Avoid this location if possible. If not, just be aware of your surroundings. I have never felt unsafe in a Target until this place, this place is twilight zone weird.

When I first moved to SF a couple weeks, of course I had to stock up on essentials and target is closeby so I figured, this is perfect. And I love target....usually. This target is not the target we know and love. It almost feels chaotic in here? And this was the first time I ever been in a store where they lock up basic essentials. I can't even get deodorant without asking someone to open it up. But I guess this is common in SF because of stealing. Its just weird (or rather funny) that toothpaste is locked up but not trojan. "We don't want ya having babies but forget being clean". Honestly better to just order online and have them deliver. Being in here feels like a madhouse sometimes

I wanted to just grab a candy bar or a bag of chips, but they CLOSED all the self-checkout stands.

This Target is kind of hard to find, the entrance is on the corner of Mission and relatively inconspicuous as far as Targets go. But the signs on the inside of the food court/AMC theatre point you to a non-functioning entrance. The Pharmacy section is almost 100% encased. I had to wait in line to ask a Target employee to please unlock the cabinet for me to grab a $4 bottle of Miralax. Other than that, checkout is relatively easy - lines are short and quick, and there are multiple registers open on a late Sunday Afternoon, meaning you probably won't be stuck waiting to operate a self checkout computer.

At metreon, it's a massive target in this busy area and if you are working nearby it's great to get snacks, drink, and food for cheaper than other places. I like coming here for lunch and eating at Yerba Buena Park which is connected to the metreon through a walkway. There are elevators going up and an escalator in front of the building. Shoplifting is a problem here so there is a lot of security but it seems like every time I come there is still do to f getting busted of running away.

This target serves a purpose but is not a pleasant shopping experience. Great place to buy some snacks before the movie. But the clientele can be a bit rough and you are guaranteed to see someone shoplifting.

Do yourself a favor and come here at least one hour before they close. Otherwise you will be rushed and stressed by the employees here. I was running to the cashier with all the stress. So they shoud either post they close earlier, or pay the employees to stay longer. Because the madness of being in the store before closing is just not fun. Other than that, great store.

I always have a happy experience. There is always someone to help you out with finding stuff too

This target seems a little hidden. It's a good place to pick up the essentials if you are downtown. This location closes at 6pm.

poor customer services, rude employees (security and management) ! They discriminate , and use profanity towards customers! when i attempted to make an complaint the manager by calling management; they arrived but instead of checking in with their customer they ( manager Laandreas) told me to get out there store because they didn't like that i asked for a manager and recorded their staff ( by the name of Joel) disrespecting me ;the manager was so concerned about the employees they didn't even take the time or consideration to ask me as a paying customer what was the issues. " they just told me i was causing a disturbance" by recording their employee misconduct. Staff should be training especially La-andres who is a manager; his approach was not ethical nor professional. It is such as shame of how they mistreat customers and how they poorly represent this establishment. CUSTOMERS ARE THERE FOR A GOOD EXPRIENCE NOT TO BE DEHUMANIZEED, OR MADE FELT UNCOMFORTABLE FOR SIMPLY TRYING TO SHOP. i wouldnt spend my money here again, i would encourage you to shop somewhere else or find a different location.

Mission Street, SF Target SUCKS! I've tried calling to confirm my pick up. The phone rings for a long time then hangs up. After about 5 attempts, I called any department in the store just to speak to a human being. NO ONE EVER ANSWERED FROM ANY DEPARTMENT. I canceled my order and will NEVER do business with this store again.

This Target is located at the south east corner of 4th and Mission with the entrance on Mission. The Target if you want to even call it that on Bush and Samsone is more like a Targette being that is not a full blown store. In other words no, they didn't have Taylor Swift's Lover at that mini mini location. This Target on Mission and part of the Metreon complex block is a much larger, almost full blown but pretty much full blown store for a downtown "City" store. It reminds me of the Target City in Seattle. For a city location this store has more of what you've come to expect from a Target and it's nice that they have something like this store close enough to where many tourists would be because like myself, we all need stuff and being that this place is close to so many hotels in the downtown San Francisco area, it's essentially an oasis. My only pet peeve is this was a Sunday when we visited and Taylor Swift's Lover was just out for barely 3 days and this store had run out. My loss for not buying it on Saturday I suppose. Either way it eventually became a moot point after I ended up buying it in Santa Clarita. Still, the essentials like a pharmacy (not that there aren't a gazillion Walgreens in downtown San Fran) but generic allergy medicine for 4 bucks versus 20+ for name brand? I'm in. Carrying around a 24 pack of water is too heavy so yes a smaller pack will do. Food, snacks, essentials. Target is the place for this and for San Francisco the prices seem to be "normal". The check out I found to be pretty fast and yes this place was quite busy but it's a weekend so that's to be expected.

Literally the worst Target in the known universe. Since its in a centralized location it attracts a lot of business but in turn the shopping experience is absolutely dreadful. If you would like to be followed around the store by employees constantly and have your every move watched and monitored this is the place for you. 70% or more of the people in the store at any given time are not even actual customers. Somehow its become socially acceptable to pay people to profile the patrons of your business. Target takes it a step further and the employees will also partake in the same behavior. Overall this place is not the best place to go if you're of African decent. Online shopping is unfortunately still the best route to take as it takes profiling out of the equation. If not there are a few other Target stores in San Francisco who value not only your business but will treat you in a respectful manner. I write these reviews based on my experience so that others will not have to face the same obstacles that I have. But always do your own research!

Looked at my receipt at home and found that I was double charged for an item. Next time I will never leave the store without checking my receipt!!!

So my (Get the heck out of dodge) check off list has been rusty and sometimes you're so excited to get away that you forget a couple of items. Most people forget something menial like shampoo, mouthwash and toothbrush. In my case my most important item was pants. Why I had 3 toothbrushes and toothpaste and forgot to pack another pair of pants will haunt me, (yes I remembered underwear, cardigans, tops) everything but frickin pants. Thank Goodness for Target so I could grab something to somewhat put together a feasible outfit. I grabbed my black yoga pants, a black shirt, a small nondescript basic black bag as my loud yellow messenger bag just didn't match with what I was going for. And a pack of quest chocolate chip power bars...just because...being hangry is real 5 stars for my shopping list needs met, friendly greeters and being close to my hotel that if I ever forget pants ever again I know where to make a quick run.

Today is the 10th anniversary of this location. The very first Target in San Francisco. I was skeptical of this location at first, since I really enjoyed the old Metreon as it was, with the arcade, and the various other weird stores on the second and third floor. But, this store has provided food, clothing, and other items in this area of San Francisco, that used to be much harder to find. I am glad that it is around, and I am glad that it exists. It has some of the nicest Target employees that I have ever experienced in a Target store, and the shelves are always neat and fully stocked.

The worst TARGET Store in all San Francisco Bay! Management is terribly unprofessional and lazy! One particular evening, around 6:50 PM, a bunch of customers went in to purchase items! By the time we headed to the cashiers to check out, Managment had closed all Cashier stations, even self check out machines! Literally about 35 customers dropped their baskets filled with items on the floor and headed out! All Target Staff had gone and the Managers hid out until everybody left! Avoid this Target store like a plague!

My mom and I went to go buy food at this Target for my dog, as you can see the expiration date is still valid until 2022, but I found worms inside the new container before giving it to my dog. We usually buy a lot of these and have fed him many, just yesterday we found a load of these worms under my dog's food mat. As a dog owner I am very upset with this food brand but also with target for selling something like this. My dog now has worms and will be getting dewormed soon. Target please make sure to check the products you are selling because they are causing harm to animals.

Randomly awesome Target in the middle of the city. Before leaving to go to San Francisco, my husband bought me incorrect contact solution so I knew I needed to buy new ones. This Target was super close to the hotel so we walked over. The great thing is it is connected to a randomly awesome food court so it's a good place to just hang out with a baby. You take the escalator, or in our case the elevator, up to the second floor. I screwed up and bought the wrong contact solution myself as well (rigid gas permeable solution instead of soft contacts which meant I had to wear glasses the rest of the week). Major fail. However, I did find eyeliner that was only $3! Obviously I'm not a crazy makeup enthusiast, since this worked for me. We walked around the store a bit and found it to be clean and orderly. I did go back later and saw that they had the correct contact solution, so that was a my bad. Overall, this is a great find for the middle of a busy city. It's even open early. Don't be alarmed if the food court isn't open, the Target opens earlier.

Definitely an inner-city target. The grocery department is small and not a big choice of produce but for a quick stop for basics, this place works. Staff was wonderful. Place was clean and well stocked.

I like to come to this store but they aren't nice at all. The employes are rude,disrespectful and can accuse you to steal for no reason and they have bad policy like Best Buy . They are blind also ,they don't recognize good to bad customers and put of of their stuff under their own controle and because they trust nobody And treat you like a potential robber when you want to purchase something instead to give to you they bring the stuff directly to the cashier . Very sad system,it's really a war against customer. No humanity,no dignity. Very ,very bad store ,just because they are cheap. Horrible. Denis Sanchez

I visit this Target store about once a week and it's pretty rough. All the riff raff in Soma frequent here and I'm sure they put the asset protection team through hell. The main reason I come here is due to sheer convenience -- it really doesn't stand out from the other Target stores in the city at all. I think what's most frustrating about this store is that they seem to be perpetually short-staffed. There are 15 separate check lanes and you'll be hard pressed to ever find more than 3 of them open at once. It really makes no sense.

Good ole Target. When the going gets down, it's hard to top Target when it comes to making sure you're life is a little better. This one is located in the heart of downtown SF. Where pretty much everything costs an arm and a leg, you can depend on Target to save you a few bucks, even in SF. Glad this location is here. The Metreon used to be the best place to visit, but alas Target has taken over. Still, a pretty good location for a Target, and always a bit busy as everything and their second uncle twice removed want to save a few bucks while in SF.

I had furniture fall on me while I was at the store. It was two customers who helped me up not an employer; although there were several around. I wanted only to file an incident report so that if my nose was broken I could be reimbursed. I did not get a I'm so sorry this happened or anything. It was as though I was inconveniencing them by asking to fill out an incident report. Target has always been my go to store for everything; even groceries at times, but I now go out of my way to go to wallmart to shop for my needs.

Target has gone down hill. Service is horrible especially in electronics. Waiting an hour for help. The electronic dept. Only here maybe once a week. use to like it here. No more

Located right next to my hotel room for a quick run is perfect, but this location isn't super big so its not super stocked and its also kind of dirty. It could possibly be that its located in the downtown area so foot traffic is crazy. Here are a few items: - Restrooms were all dirty and you would find the weirdest things, one of the stalls has scissors, trimmer and hair gels, all items opened and used.. idk what happened... I don't want to know what happened either - Registers are all very slow and, feels like their staff isn't full trained - the place was load with a bunch of tourists and sadly hobos - it was also slightly a bit unorganized I believe that this location has potential, I don't think it would be going away anytime soon. But new management is def needed for this place to do better.

Ryan on the management team is a phenomenal asset to the company and gives above & beyond customer service. I know sensational hospitality when I see it; since I spent 25 years working in the hospitality business for a top-notch hotel. On 6/23/22 in a haste to shop & leave the store before closing time- I left one of my bags of purchased items at the checkout counter and left the store. I came back 2 hours after the store CLOSED in hopes of finding my bag. I'm sure Ryan just wanted to "go home"after a long days work instead of dealing with my dilemma. Long story short; he was kind, patient and extremely professional in handling my situation and I was very satisfied. As a San Francisco home and business owner- I would love to have someone like Ryan on my team. He runs the store like he owns it; and who wouldn't want that type of trustworthy, accountable associate working with them. Ryan keep up the sensational work! Everyone is looking for OUTSTANDING LEADERS & you're definitely one of them!

This is probably one of the best Target stores I've ever been too. The layout is different than every other Target store that I've shopped at, but I think that it makes for a more efficient shopping experience. The inventory is bright, colorful, and unique. Displays are neat, well-organized, and inviting. The store layout makes shopping easy and I didn't have to embark upon an epic journey to find what I was looking for. There are multiple end caps of wine (good wine. California wine. Napa wine!!) as well as a decent variety of craft beers. There's an impressive selection of healthy and delicious snacks and other food items here, as well. I was impressed by how stylish the clothing displays were. I was also grateful that I only brought one suitcase because I definitely could have given my wardrobe a nice, trendy and colorful boost had I had the time and luggage space. There were lots of registers open and cashiers would pull people out of other lines to help them get checked out faster. Proactive customer service. That's what I'm talking about: Get my money and get me on my way.

I mean, this place is an addiction! We have all left Target having purchased way more than we planned. You'll find so many options and the best deals! They also offer many local brands, such as Anchor Brewing Beer. I shop here for all my home essentials--from trash bags to my living room ottoman. I have a SimpleHuman trash receptacle, and they even have a generic bag brand that fits at a fifth of the cost of the name brand. They have amazing gift and clothing options, too! I've bought my favorite pair of skinny jeans here on clearance and a Champion sports bra that I wear all the time even though I have more expensive brands in my closet. I often order pick-up, which saves me a lot of time and prevents the temptation I would otherwise get from browsing down each aisle. This store is smaller, but better than Target West.

Very quick review and to the point. Went to customer service to purchase a 12-pack of wet wipes and was rang up by one of the workers that works there regularly, 5'7 Latina that's worked there for a very long time. I paid for the item and I said thank you and the worker responded with a "yeah". I'm so sorry that you have a dead end job and can't find anything else to pay for your bills and your groceries at grocery outlet but you really need to work on your customer service skills. It's the culture of this target with people that have worked there for years and are lazy and disgruntled.

I ordered about a year ago and my entire order was messed up.I asked for organic fruits and none of them were organic. I asked for Natural peanut butter and received opposite. The one item I really wanted was a water pitcher with Brittany filter and before I placed my order I called the store and they told me they had it in stock. I never received the item and the driver had marked it as out of stock. COVID-19 had just started so I ended up not being able to get through to customer service.I was surely not going to order from them again. It had been over a year and I was online and noticed the Father's Day promotion "Spend $50.00 and receive same day delivery" I decide to give them another chance. I placed my order around 4pm and the order would arrive between 6-7pm. I decide to pick up the apartment while I am waiting for the order at 7:04 pm I receive a text message saying sorry for the inconvenience but the earliest we can deliver your order is between 7-8pm. I was upset but I was really upset because I received another text message 4 minutes after the last message they had sent me letting me know the earliest they could deliver my order was the net day between 8-9am. Are you kidding me the message also let me know they went ahead and booked the time slot for8 -9am I called Target at 7am to cancel my order. I wanted same day delivery which is what was offered. What a lack of customer service. Although Shipt is a terrible delivery service in my opinion. Target should take responsibility and if their delivery service is bad than they should address the problem. I was able to place my order and receive it in Less than 2 hours at one of Targets competitors. I am sticking with the stores that take care of me and that I can trust to show up with my order on time.

Who doesn't love Target??!??! We all say "I just need one thing" and then end up leaving with several things...it happens. It's a pretty big place. Busy due to the fact that it's downtown and close to union square, and the BART station. They also have a pharmacy inside. This location includes groceries, electronics, toys and clothes. All of which draw in crazy homeless people. Be prepared to see feces on the ground and security sensors as well.

This Target will do if I'm in a pinch, but by no means do I get the same sense of ~Target excitement~ as I do with other locations. Once you pass the questionably sketchy people that hang around the entrance and escalators, this Target has a CVS, as well as a scaled down version of everything else they'd normally have. The reason for the 2 stars, however, is that the website and store inventory are inaccurate. If you see that something "in stock" online, there is no guarantee that it'll be in store. When I showed an employee the "in stock" page on my phone, they just shrugged. Also, the self checkout lines here are extremely long and everything is a bit pricier by about $.75-1.00+ compared to other locations.

I picked up a Razor Kick Scooter last Friday at this store that I ordered online. Maggie at the Pick Up Counter was very pleasant and accommodating. She displayed great customer service when she was very concerned that my kick scooter might be damaged because the cardboard box it came in had a tear in it. She suggested that I open the box to see if the scooter was damaged and that she would request an exchange if it were. To my delight the scooter was in perfect condition. I am grateful Maggie allowed me check out the scooter before I left the store.
