"Home to one of the largest remaining swaths of temperate rain forest in the world, dating to the supercontinent Gondwana, the Tarkine Wilderness is a stronghold for rare species including black cockatoos, wedge-tailed eagles, and spotted-tailed quolls. The Western Explorer Road takes you to Corinna, part of which is unsealed and bright white, built from tailings from the nearby silica mine. That hints at the mining settlement to come, where the Corinna Wilderness Experience transformed old prospector huts into modern cabins that run on solar power and rainwater. Hike deeper into the rain forest or to Aboriginal middens along the coast with Tarkine Trails, or visit a 1,540-acre sinkhole before riding down a 360-foot-long tube slide at Tarkine Forest Adventures."

An incredible part of Australian to experience on the 4 day Tarkine Wilderness Walk - stunning natural areas shown to us by Glen and Dan our guides through rainforests, mountains, waterways and western coastline. Be hike fit ready to experience it at its best - however this tour enables easy alternate tracks for a more laid back experience. Absolutely loved every minute of it. The guides were fantastic in explaining the history of the areas visited along with the flora and fauna along the way. Corrina Resort was very comfortable and beautiful, the Tarkine is literally at your doorstep and out your bedroom window. If you're wanting to do the Tarkine - do it! This day pack only tour allows the big heavy stuff to be taken care of - all you have to do is take it in ...

This was a wonderful walk in an incredible part of Tasmania. It includes so many highlights of the north-west - spectacular coastline, incredible rainforests and waterfalls and outstanding views! The itinerary was perfection - great daily options to tailor the trip to meet individual guest preferences. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and perfect for this tour in a beautiful spot. Guide Glen was extremely experienced, knowledgeable and gave wonderful balanced commentary and insights into local fauna, flora, history and more. Guide Mishka was enthusiastic in his new role. Both guides were accommodating and worked hard to give all guest a great experience. This was my second walk with Life's an Adventure and couldn't rate this company (and itinerary) highly enough.

We had the most wonderful experience walking the Tarkine with our guides Tim and Danny. The weather reports for our time there were completely wild. We experienced snow, sleet, hail, rain and high winds. Each day was a lottery and Tim did a lot of planning and replanning every day to ensure we got the most out of our trip. Our walks were beautiful and the scenery stunning. Both Tim and Danny were the perfect guides; friendly, experienced, knowledgeable, thoughtful, relaxed and funny! Nothing seemed to be too much trouble or too much effort for them. The trip exceeded our expectations!

The Tarkine is a beautiful part of Tasmania and having Tim and Casper as our guides ensured we learnt about the history, fauna and flora as well as threats to its future. Their love and passion for the area and their attention to our safety as well as their knowledge made it an unforgettable experience.
