This is a little slice of heaving and a chance to experience living on a sheep farm! We so enjoyed meeting Tom and his parents and learning some of their history. We stayed in the Stable Suite. Very well represented on their website and it was very well equipped. The wool shop was amazing and I am no struggling to find room to get all the wool I purchased back home! I would highly recommend staying here. Off the beaten track and worth every penny! Thanks Tom!

A lovely, peaceful getaway. The cottage is charming, the beds and bedding top quality, everything was very comfortable and immaculate. I particularly enjoyed the beautiful flower arrangements and artworks in every room. The hosts are lovely. Wishing you all the best.

John is a very responsive, inclusive and friendly host. We had such a good time at his farm. My daughter learnt how to use a spindle during our 3 days stay there. John was very patient teaching her how to comb the wool and spin the yarn. The house we stayed in was big and spacious with some history of John's childhood. It was very quiet at night. The stars at night were amazing and beautiful. We saw a lot of wild rabbits running in the morning and dusk. We were also warmly welcomed to their Crafty Sunday, which was so heartwarming to witness and experience. The Crafty community at Tarndie was so closely knitted and we all felt John's enthusiasm, dedication and passion for this precious family farm. Highly recommended for children, teenagers and adults to come and experience this space. An intimate space for our hands and hearts to come together.

Our stay was fabulous! Tom and his dad welcomed us with open arms when we drove up to this historic location, where our daughter had stayed prior and loved. The two bedroom house in which stayed has been beautifully restored and we immediately felt so comfortable we wished we had booked for a much longer visit. Everything needed was available from the fully supplied kitchen to the mounds of blankets available on cold nights to supplement heat from the wood burning stove.. Of note too was the sweet smell of the sheep that grazed on the land. And, for any knitter/weaver/crocheter/fiber artist, the yarn store on the premises is extraordinary and a MUST STOP. Tom and family sheer, spin, dye and then sell the most gorgeous yarns, along with spinning wheels and accessories. In all, when in the Otways, Tarndie is the best.

Absolute cracker little property. Tom is a legend, very friendly, and you can tell he’s incredibly passionate about all things Tarndie. The accommodation is beautifully rustic, well maintained, clean, and very warm & comfortable. Tom gave us a tour of the wool shop, and it was great to hear the history of the farm & the wool they produce. Taking home some hand died yarn was the perfect souvenir for our little 14 yo crotcheter! Highly recommended. We hope our travels take us back this way one day.

Tarndie is a fabulous place to base yourself when visiting the Colac Otway Shire. Tom was a fantastic host making our stay even more memorable. We staying in both The Stables and Farmers Cottage which were very clean, warm and comfortable. Each had everything you need to enjoy your stay. Thank you Tom and your family for such a lovely time. Happy knitting and spinning :)

Lovely farmhouse. beautifully decorated just like the 1920s, but so very comfortable as were the beds. Kitchen and bathrooms have all mod cons. Views are spectacular, Tom a welcoming host and the sheep and lambs an added bonus. Great stay.

We loved our stay at Tarndie, it was perfect! We stayed in a beautiful studio (a converted stable) on the sheep farm. The studio was warm and cosy yet spacious, so tastefully furnished with bunches of fresh flowers scattered throughout. The bed was comfortable too! Just divine! The farm itself was lovely set around the original homestead. Another highlight was the warm welcome we received from Tom and his family, we even joined them for freshly brewed coffee and cake on the cobblestones under the eaves of the wool store. We also enjoyed hearing about the history of the farm and the Polwarth breed of sheep. Thank you for your hospitality, we look forward to returning in the future. Catherine
