"Taro is Park Slope’s go-to casual sushi spot where people order takeout after leaving work late, or sit at the sushi bar in their gym clothes. Along with fresh and reasonably-priced sushi, they have some cooked options like tempura and teriyaki. The dark space and beer/wine/sake list also make this an option for a low-key date." - Matt Tervooren

The best authentic Japanese sushi I had so far. The rice tastes so good with the right amount of vinegar and the rice is warm and not sticky. The fish is cut into the right amount and they were fresh. We ordered the sushi for two and special sushi for two, tuna lover, oyster appetizer, and Karaage (Japanese fried chicken). The food was five stars so was the price. But it is worth the money. If you prefer authentic Japanese sushi and don't want to spend extra this is a decent spot. Attached all pictures we ordered and it was $140 for four people.

8.11.18 - quickly becoming our neighborhood go to sushi spot and I think it's been a main staple of Flatbush for some time. Service is always friendly, the food is generally very good, and he atmosphere is very family oriented. Perhaps our highlight is the Hamachi Kama because its broiled perfectly and it's a good meaty portion, which is not always true; it is consistently meaty, here.

😍 the salmon sashimi is of the best and freshest in NYC (Michelin included) 😋 😍 Matcha ice cream, full of flavor, hint of the sandy texture yet creamy 😋 😍 house salad with ginger dressing 😋 😍 fried sardine sashimi (runs out fast) 😋 😍 Miso cod and eel pretty good as well 😋 😍😍😋😋😋😋😍😍 Ps. Been here more times than the amount of words in my review 🙈

I liked the miso pork belly as an appetizer but the sushi was really amazing. The signature tuna variation comes at a prize but it melts in your mouth. Hardly recommended for high quality sushi in a casual atmosphere!

The best sushi in Brooklyn. No cap. I totally reccomend going here. Very reasonable prices. The yellowtail set is SOOO GOOD!!!! sushi for 2 is also very good for the price. Service is great, everything is very clean and everyone is nice there. The fish is from japan, and there rice is uniquely made. GO HERE !! You will Not regret it.

Only Salmon and white tuna sushi were good, the rest just ok. I didn't like the rolls that came with the sushi order, especially spicy tuna. It wasn't spicy and didn't taste like tuna at all. Even color of that roll was weird. For this price I've had better sushi in the neighborhood.

I love this place. The food is always fresh. I’m never disappointed :). This is a great spot to go during lunch time on the weekdays which is usually when I go. You can get so much value for your money at lunch time. The lunch special comes with soup and salad! This is one of the places that my husband and I love going!!! My husband and I always get the Sashimi deluxe for 2, the sushi combo for 2, the 3 roll combo, miso soup and house salad (we are greedy for sushi and we adore this place) Sometimes I like to get the chicken teriyaki :) You can never go wrong here in my opinion.
