On the Grid : Tarpeian Precinct Lawn Royal Botanic Gardens
"A fantastic viewpoint over the Opera House sails across to the Harbour Bridge. The quiet Tarpeian Lawn is a welcome escape from the crowds of tourists wandering around the stairs below for that perfect snap. Access via the Botanic Gardens, Macquarie St or the stair case across the road from the the Opera House. Potentially the best picnic spot you could choose or lunchtime nap under a native Australian gumtree." - Grandma's Bar for 8 Hospitality
Tarpeian Lawn is a beautiful and peaceful spot with stunning views of Sydney Harbour and the Opera House. Perfect for a picnic, relaxing stroll, or just enjoying the scenery. A hidden gem away from the crowds!

The Bothanic garden is really fascinating. Lots of old trees in many spices and many different birds around. We had a little picnic with view to the Oprea House. It is clean and somewhere in the middle you can fill up drinking water. I would have liked more trash can around. We could only find some in the entrance and exit area.

Attended a wedding ceremony here on Feb 18th 2022. The views across the harbour to the Sydney Harbour Bridge was spectacular. Ample trees to provide shade and the grass was immaculate. The location is away from any noisy roads too so you can really enjoy the area. Definitely recommend a visit.

Calm and very relaxing walk among the amazing trees. Just next to the Opera House but still quiet and peaceful. Perfect to get away from the crowd. Great place to visit.

This is also known as Jellybean Hill. Watch out for the possums, vampire bats and drop bears that live in the Moreton Bay figs. They are possibly rabid. You have been warned.

A gorgeous spot for lunch on a sunny day. This lawn area is so well maintained with spectacular views of the harbour and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. We usually sit on the grass and watch the passing parade of and joggers and walkers on the pathway that follows the waterline. In the background you can see ferries and boats of various sizes cruising around the harbour.
