This was a lovely find. We had burgers and chips, whixh were tasty, and our dog was made to feel welcome too. We would have had a dessert too, but it's quite a steep (but short) walk back up to the car park! Nice outside seating and comfy bench seats inside too.

A really fabulous place to stay. I brought my Mum here for an 80th birthday treat…the rooms were comfy and well furnished, the staff were friendly and kind and the evening meal was obviously locally sourced and absolutely delicious. Our breakfasts were also delicious. I felt nothing was too much trouble-the staff are so attentive and helpful. The location is idyllic too and there are great walks around the area. I’d definitely recommend and will come back soon.

This is our third time of seeing the New Year in at Tarr Farm Inn and we can't think of anywhere we would rather be.||A delicious 5 course meal including canapés, lobster risotto, scallop. For my main I had the Sea Bass which was cooked to perfection whilst my wife enjoyed the Beef Bourguignon. Choice of desserts was a little limited this year so we both opted for the cheese board to finish. as this was huge we ended up taking some home.||This was a two night stay and on the second night I had the venison whilst my wife had the Loin of Lamb with mini shepherds pie (which was so good we ended up going back again for a second helping on the third evening before driving home).||The inn is in a beautiful location with walks from the door. The weather wasn't great on New Years day but it was nice just to relax in the parlour with a slow pint listening to the buzz of conversation from the bar. We also enjoyed the cream tea (again the scones are huge so you may need to share!).||Thanks to Hilary and the team for another relaxing stay. Look forward to seeing you again soon

We have just returned from celebrating my husband’s 80th birthday at Tarr Farm Inn. We went for dinner & an over night stay & we’re delighted with the experience. The staff were lovely, the meal was excellent & the accommodation ideal. We particularly loved the view, the king sized bed, the plentiful hot water and the complimentary gin & tonic. We came home feeling like we had had a week long holiday. We will certainly be returning.

Stopped by for a bite to eat before our walk with our dog. We had afternoon tea and it was delicious. It is a beautiful place to eat and when we are back in the area next year we will book a lunch. |The inside and outside area is beautiful. Very dog friendly too.

The best locally sourced food and a great Chef or Chefs made this first time visit a future, regular when we venture onto Exmoor. My wife never eats burgers and I'm not a huge fan. She had the Vegan one and I had the Beef. Omg! The chips were unbelievable, firstly. The best I've ever eaten. The burger was over an inch thick and utterly sublime in flavour. I've never tasted anything as good...anywhere! A Lovely cosy Woodburner greats you like a warm kiss as you enter this really lovely Inn. You can easily walk past this place...but a stones throw away from Tar Steps. After a fab circular walk, we stumbled across this place on purpose way back to the car. I assumed it was a Tea Room. No external signs of it being a ye olde worlde pub inside. The chef has got it right. Small menu...simple ingredients....treated with love. 10/10!

If you are searching for a place to stay in Exmoor, highly recommend Tarr Farm Inn! After a recent stay, you can understand why it receives so many glowing reviews – it is truly a wonderful place.||Nestled at the bottom of a small valley by a tranquil river, the location is incredibly peaceful (no phone signal but there is free Wi-Fi).||The staff were very welcoming, friendly, efficient, and helpful from making the booking to check-out.||The building is charming, lovingly decorated, and very cosy. It has a separate pub and restaurant, with plenty of comfortable indoor and outdoor seating. Lovely furnishings, background music and ambience. ||They serve breakfast, lunch and evening meals. There is a wide variety of breakfast options. A three-course main meal in the restaurant is about £45/pp (excluding drinks) but worth every penny. All food was delicious.||The bedrooms are in a separate purpose-built section, with some on the ground floor and others upstairs. They are decorated in a modern yet cosy style, are very clean and have everything you need – a comfortable double bed, ample storage, fridge, drink facilities, modern bathroom with toiletries, plenty of plugs, and a lovely view over the rolling hillside. Despite the hot weather, the room remained cool and has large windows you can fully open for fresh air.||During the day, it is a popular spot due to the river, walking trails (along the river or up the hills onto the moors), and the pub/restaurant. Parking is limited, but there is a public car park a five-minute walk up the lane/hill (on the right). Parked there temporarily then moved the car to the Inn’s own car park when spaces became available in the evening.||Tarr Farm Inn is very isolated (no local village or bus route), so you need to drive (use TA22 9QA in your satnav to avoid ending up on the wrong side of the river). But that is part of its charm – it is a perfect getaway! Plus, it is so quiet at night, so you sleep very well and, if the skies are clear, you can enjoy a stunning night sky view.||A big thank you to everyone at Tarr Farm Inn for such a lovely stay!

I’ve eaten at the inn several times - it’s top of my favourite places! Today, my grandson and I had a delicious lunch but we were against the clock. The staff were all brilliant and we received our meal with just enough time to spare. A special thank you to Jenny, who served us. Very many thanks and I will definitely be back again.
