Sole by Tarragon

Sole by Tarragon was an outstanding experience from the moment we sat down. We were welcomed with a lovely amuse-bouche to start, which set the tone right away. I ordered the Aljotta (traditional Maltese fish soup) and the salmon — both were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The Pink Sea Star drink was also excellent: refreshing, fun, and perfectly balanced. The atmosphere is fantastic, with beautiful views and a relaxed, elegant vibe. And the service truly made it special — Gema, Mario, and Kane were attentive, warm, and professional throughout. Highly recommend if you’re in St. Julian’s

We had the 8 course experience menu, it was delicious. The cocktails were also really good (this is not easy nowadays to find good cocktails). We highly recommend this restaurant with a nice view on the bay. Products were fresh and very tasty !

To be honest i expected more. The main courses weren't anything spectacular but the starters were great though. Definitely recommend the black calamari. Tried octopus for main but was something like a mixture of homemade soup and octopus 🤔👎. Desserts were good. Service is perfect with friendly staff. Atmosphere is great.

Not sure if the plating or the view was more gorgeous! We did the 8-course tasting menu with wine pairing, and it was absolutely fantastic. Every dish looked amazing and tasted even better, and the wine pairings were spot on. It was a long dinner, but in the best way — we never felt rushed, and the food was filling and satisfying. The service was friendly and attentive (they also gave us great recommendations for other activities in Malta), and the whole evening felt really special! Can’t recommend Sole by Tarragon enough!

They really understand gastronomy. Staff is very attentive und supportive. Learned that Hungary has the Malbec vino es well. Food is 5 stars. They view and vibe is outstanding and you pay for it obviously.

I had an excellent dinner at Sole. The starters as well as the main dish were excellent let alone the serving. However, I had a rather disappointing experience with the wine. I’ve order a Saint Emillion Grand Cru Chateau Perey Chevreuil from 2020 . Instead, They’ve opened a Perey Chevreuil from 2022. I saw it not at the presentation of the bottle but when the waiter unscrewed the cork. I pull the attention of the waiter that it was not the year written on the wine list. After a doubt they brought the wine list and it was written 2020 and not 2022. So I’ve asked them a bottle of 2022 but apparently it was not available. In order not to make an issue , I said that i would agree the bottle however they need to make a commercial/ hospitality gesture. This means in any decent location when you pay 90€/ person that they would offer a coffee , a grappa, a glass of cognac or a little discount on the wine ie 5/10 € for the principal. The waiter said that he would talk with the assistant manager Roberto. At the end of the tremendous taste trip, I’ve asked the bill and had an eye on the price of the wine or any small commercial discount but there was nothing. I mentioned the issue to the waiter and asked him to call the manager which was the assistant manager Roberto. Roberto, a not very well educated person to say the least said that I should not have drink the wine. Then said that the 2022 is even better than 2020 . Then he said that I should have paid the double even the triple of the price. Then he threatened me!!! I was with my children and family. I’ve just asked him not to speak me as he did, nor to threaten me. Then he said what do you want? Limoncello??? In a nutshell, the food, the waiters the service is excellent but Roberto the assistant manager is not a good and reliable person. He almost killed my mood. Just be careful when ordering wine. As for the rest. 👍

We came as a family to try the six-course tasting menu and had a wonderful evening! The service was impeccable and highly professional. The dishes were of excellent quality, with a perfect balance of flavors and beautiful presentation. We would like to thank the entire team for the warm welcome. A special mention to Ana and Jyoti.
