Tartufi Gazzarrini

The truffle hunting hosted by Mattia and Gianni was the highlight of our one-month trip to Tuscany. Mattia was very knowledgeable and an excellent host. We started with a short presentation in the shop on the history of Gazzarrini and information on how truffles grow and are harvested. Next, we walked to the forest nearby where we met Gianni, the truffle hunter, and his dog, Pippo. As we walked through the forest searching for truffles with the dog leading us, Mattia continued to narrate what exactly the truffle hunter and dog were doing; and we actually found a few truffles as well! After the truffle hunt, we walked back to the shop where Mattia and Manuela hosted a lovely truffle tasting with wine outside on the patio. After the tasting, Mattia took us to a nearby restaurant for lunch where Gazzarrini supplies the truffles. And absolute 10/10 experience, we wish we could have stayed longer on the truffle hunt but we had an infant and toddler with us. This was hands down the best experience we’ve had in Italy so far. Highly recommended, and when we return to Tuscany we will visit Mattia again.

This was a marvelous day, so full of interesting experiences, so much enjoyment and laughter! All my friends to whom I arranged this tour, complimented me for a fantastic day.. And we DID find truffles! A great lunch followed, after which we unfortunately had to tear us from our great host and guide, Mattia. We will be back! Ingalill

Obrigado Mattia pela receptividade. Ficamos muito satisfeitos com o conhecimento transmitido. A caçada foi produtiva ( 4 trufas). Uma experiência incrível. Paris(cão) foi muito companheiro. Recomendo esta oportunidade para turistas e apreciadores de trufas. Abraço cordial da Família Mattana.
