Taru Villas - Rampart Street

The staff very one of the best Ive ever experienced! Pure excellence in Sri Lankan hospitality. The room had a nice dutch feel and very spacious. The room was also very nice and the chief takes notes on the needs of its customers for customisations! Both Sri Lankan and western menus were available. The location is killer just minutes to the Galle Fort, Lighthouse and Clock tower! Highly recommend!

What a lovely place. We had the two pool rooms booked and we felt like we were in our own private villa. Out to explore and then back to cool off. The young men who work there greet you with a genuine friendly smile every time you return and the service was personal and incredible. And the food - some of the best breakfast food we had in Sri Lanka! And finally the visiting langur monkeys. What a delight! Highly, highly recommend. beautiful rooms. Perfectly located

This unique and beautiful boutique villa is an incredible place to stay! Teeming with wild life, friendly gentle monkeys! Rooms are stunning, colonial style. A totally original experience! The staff are soooo lovely and helpful.

This is unquestionably a beautiful and charming place to stay. There is ample space to relax in as well as a pool. The staff are simply wonderful; incredibly polite, friendly and always willing to help. The breakfasts are just great, we opted to what was referred to as the ‘Western breakfast’, which included fresh fruit, juice , tea and coffee and then a range of choices including: poached eggs, full English, & French toast. |The location was excellent, minutes from the old fort and restaurants. A great place!

We had an exceptional Stay at the Taru Villas Rampart Street - Galle Fort in June 2025.||The hotel is very well located. You can walk to anywhere inside the Fort where all the restaurants and shops are. ||The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive and treated us with genuine kindness and professionalism to ensure our stay was comfortable.||The room was clean, tastefully decorated, and best of all cold! This really was a vital after visiting the Fort in the heat! ||The pool and common areas were well maintained and added to the sense of relaxation and luxury.||We left feeling refreshed, well cared for, and eager to return. This hotel is a true gem in Sri Lanka, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking an unforgettable getaway.

This was an incredibly beautiful historic house and one of the loveliest places I’ve ever stayed. The staff took such great care of us and the food was delicious. The location was great too, right on the ramparts and inside the fort. We loved every minute of our stay here.

From the moment we arrived we felt incredibly lucky to have chosen this beautiful hotel. The staff are warm and friendly and welcoming. The garden room we stayed in was amazing and we saw monkeys jumping across the roof outside the windows which was incredible. The room was beautiful and we loved the large veranda. |Meals were delicious and served at a shared dining table and cooked to order. The fish and chips I had was delicious and the Sri Lankan breakfast choices also incredibly tasty. |An easy walk onto the ramparts to see the sea and to enjoy the fort to its fullest.|I have only praise for this beautiful hotel.

We spent two nights here as part of our tour of Sri Lanka. We loved it here! Located in the middle of Galle Fort, it is a little oasis of calm. While you inevitably can hear the city around you, it is a lovely tranquil space with the rooms located around a pool. The staff are friendly, attentive and provide the best service possible. |The building is Dutch colonial which has been beautifully preserved. Our room had a four poster bed and period furniture which matched the style of the building. |Breakfast is served at a large shared dining table overlooking the pool. It is selected from a menu which has a good choice of western and Sri Lankan food and is served at the table. |All of the sights of Galle Fort are within easy reach, as are the shops, cafes and restaurants.|We would have loved to have stayed longer.
