Modern stylish interior. The food and their coffee are very good. We had their curry. It was a bit sweet, but very very tasty. And then we ordered the french toast. Crispy outside and very moist inside, very unique. It was good but the double size was a bit too much, you can take a single one, even if you share. The service was friendly, quick and efficient. There is a wifi, too. On the weekdays you can work there easily. UPD: visited the place again. The service is still good but it feels like the portions became more expensive yet smaller :(

A unique and quaint cafe in Harajuku. Tas Yard is about a 6 minute walk from Harajuku station. I've tried going here before and there was a line of about 15 people out the door, this time there was no wait at all and I could be seated right away. Their menu has some good options whether you come for lunch or just a small bite to eat. Worth the try if you have the time!

The pudding was very tasty! Very vanilla bean essence filled. The chai was nice too. Too bad there was no silky froth to the milk…

they have lots of seats so do not need to wait for long during lunch time. Curry was quite delicious even though it has a bit strong sweet flavor. Howeber the zucchini spaghetti was one of the worst pasta I ever had..was not pasta but more like ramen or other kinds of noodle

Tas yard curry was really good. Well worth a lunch stop. Some specialty beer options also. French toast looked good but didn't try it.

Apart from the infamous french toast, the curry rice and banana bread also gave us a pleasant surprise!

Friendly neighborhood bistro, with attentive staff, well-designed interior (mostly wood), and an array of tasty dishes. The kitchen was flexible, making a vegetarian version of their pasta upon request. Diners can order S, M, L portions depending on how hungry you are. Worker’s Lunch (i.e. the daily special) is a great deal. If I lived in the neighborhood, I can see myself returning time and again.

Yelp

Yelp
If Gwen Stefani and the 00's defined Harajuku Girls and the area from which they hail, then the 20-teens are being shaped by a normcore style. And, if places like Tas Yard are the result: take all my Yen now. Located in Sendagaya and within easy walking distance of Harajuku, you'll know it's Tas Yard by the greenery and a small grocer selling local produce at the front of house. We arrived at around 2pm to only a few other people dining. The menu is focused on simple "kissetan-style" (Kinfolk's interview with the owner says this translates to a Japanese-style coffee shop popular with students and businessmen) with curries and hayashi rice featuring predominately. From my interpretation the meals are designed to nourish from the inside out. It's not fancy, it's soul food. We ordered the hayashi beef with rice. There were three sizes but we opted for the small and it was ample to keep the hangry monster at bay. The sauce was a slightly sweet, and while flavoursome, it wasn't heavy. Tas Yard's owner, Shinichiro Nakahara, also owns Good Neighbour Coffee a short walk up the road and the coffee carries through to this venue. Everything about Tas Yard was minimal, classic and beautiful. It's calming and was a much needed change of pace from the bright lights and futuristic feel of Shinjuku and Shibuya.

Yelp
Tas Yard is a pretty neat cafe in Sendagaya, which is close by and walkable from Harajuku. The decor is amazing and gives off a rustic-modern feel with wooden and metal furniture. Great eats and even better coffee and teas. I'd probably be a regular if I lived close by.
