Tasca do Celso

We ate here on the first night we arrived and enjoyed it so much that we rebooked for later in the week. The restaurant has such a nice feel to it, and with it being a chilly February evening, the open log fire added to the ambience. We had Pork with Clams and steak on the first visit and Pork with clams (So good), plus lamb chops on the second. They are flexible with swapping the accompanying sides, which was great, and also their recommendations for wine by the glass was most welcome. Definitely recommend 👌

One of the best gastronomic experience of my holidays in Portugal. What a special gem. No one can say how beautiful this restaurant is passing by the door. I parked my car in front of Tasca do Celso, but it didn't catch my eye. When I asked in my hotel next door ( Guarda Rios) about the best restaurant in town, it was suggested this amazing restaurant. When I went there to reserve I couldn't believe how beautiful, cosy and familiar it looks. We should never judge the book by it cover. And Tasca do celso proves that it's true! Delicious food. Great staff. Cosy and special atmosphere. Celso, the owner, was always organising everything and asking if we were comfortable, and if we needed something. Is the kind of restaurant that makes us feel at home. Delicious homemade food. Great experience. Celso is the kind of restaurant that everything is good. Top quality. Highly recommended.

This place was a great find in a very nice little village along the coast. Fantastic meal. Be adventurous and try something you can't get at home :)

We ate here while walking the fisherman’s trail and the restaurant was recommend by our hotel owner. Atmosphere is cosy and inviting right from the front entrance. The restaurant is rustic and very charming within. Someone has put a lot of thought into all the details. Service was impeccable and added another layer to the dining experience. Our waiter was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. He recommended a bottle of wine for us that was amazing. He checked with us on price before he made his selection. Servings are very large and were served to us from the serving plate at the table which again was very charming. My husband had the black pork with clams which he enjoyed and said was nicely spiced but he found it very rich (not a complaint just a point to be aware of). I had a monkfish stew with was served with rice in a tomato based sauce along with clams and shrimp. This was a very hearty dish which I enjoyed but it was also rich. A wonderful restaurant and an overall memorable dinner.

Arroz de pato takes ~1 hour to be ready but it's worth the wait! Flavorful, rich and texture.

Food is great but for portuguese standards the price is higher than average. However, I consider it one of the best restaurants in the area. Traditional portuguese food (with some variation), in a clean and great atmosphere. Service is friendly.

It's an amazing restaurant. Delicious food and brilliant wait staff. I forgot to take a picture of the main meal. I had cod and clams with noodles, and my wife had sea bass. Both cooked perfectly, melt in your mouth.

Honestly, compared to the price I paid, not fully satisfied. Great service of the server Stella, but average on food... The calamari had the "bone" inside that should be taken out or at least made aware of it with the customer in my opinion. Not excellent taste. I recommend the house wine, however, really tasty and pleasant. The location is really cute.
