What a great spot! Especially as a tourist (or a local!) the chance to eat fresh locally made produce in a beautiful setting was amazing. Helpful friendly staff, and plenty of nice craft drinks (non alcoholic too!) and options. Recommend getting a 2 person platter and sharing, you won’t be hungry afterwards! You can also buy a lot of the produce used in the shop as well and good ideas for gifts

Great experience this place with a large group! The platter was absolutely huge and we all loved the venison salami, selections of cheese and cured Salmon on offer. Everyone appreciated the decor with lots of windows and plants and having someone play the piano during lunch was just amazing! Only wish the service was a bit friendlier and welcoming and would have been perfect if there was an additional a la carte menu. Also, the options of sparkling wine by the bottle are extremely limited (only 3 options)

Absolutely loved our experience here… beautiful food with a very interesting selection. Highly recommend stopping off here. It’s an awesome setting inside and out, with lots of little nick nacks you can purchase.

I love this place! Such a great vibe. The layout and styling of the cafe gives such a calm and relaxed atmosphere. The food and drinks are presented beautifully. And everything tasted delicious. A must visit while in Tasmania. In Sassafras area.

What a beautiful building. And inside has to be seen to be believed. Stunning. Food and drink from each very corner of Tassie. I had an excellent coffee, beautiful donut before walking away with a souvenir of Hobart whisky. Highly recommended.

What a venue! This is one of the most stunning places I have ever been to. The interior of this building is divine, with a real sense of nature all around with beautiful terrariums as table centre pieces. The food was amazing and the staff were friendly. A must visit when in Tasmania.

Great day at the Tasmanian Gin and Spirits fair. Beautiful venue and great produce. The only issue was signage of entry - really hard to work out where to get in. Once in, I did not want to leave!

Amazing food platters. Very nice setting. Alfresco area was a green velvet lawn shaded by trees or umbrellas.

Yelp
Love this place! What a wonderful set up. Saved from neglect, this isolated, drive-to place is well worth the visit. Going from strength to strength in success too by the sounds of it. It does close up for private functions ever so often, so check before you head out that they are open for trade to the public. Eat inside or out surrounded by beauty either way. Plus, they have a providore available to take home some Aussie gourmet tucker. Enjoy!

Yelp
I can't remember which friend posted or commented on Facebook about the launch of this place, but the photos were so gosh darn pretty that I Liked it without hesitation, somehow thinking that Sassafras was down the southern end of the state and somewhat within my grasp. It wasn't until I was on the Bass Highway just outside of Elizabeth Town that I realised how wrong I had been, as I screeched on the brakes (safely, mum) and veered just off the highway to pay a visit to the Conservatory. It's even more stunning in person than it is in photos. A beautiful white building, sided with enormous windows, invites the most magical afternoon sunlight into the space inside. A ridiculously high ceiling looms over shelves covered in delicious Tasmanian treats. An old grand piano sits in the corner of the room. Big rustic wooden tables just want you to touch them. I had a chance to chat with one of the lovely ladies behind the Conservatory's opening, and she told me how it had taken years for her and her mother to convince the man who first constructed the building to hand it over and let them transform it into something wonderful, and how he had already dropped in a couple of times within a month of opening for a cuppa. The Tasmanian Food & Wine Conservatory is an absolutely magical space for a pit stop. My coffee was tasty and the lunch menu, despite me arriving a bit late in the day to try it (the ladies actually stayed open past closing for us to finish our drinks), the lunch menu looked pretty tantalising. I'll be factoring in plenty of time next time I'm headed to Devonport or beyond for a stop in here!
