We did the Chocolate and Spice tour with Lira. The entire experience was amazing! Our kids went with us (ages 4 and 8) and the chocolate experience, spice farm and Taste Belize did an amazing job teaching everyone. Our tour guide Lira was also able to answer all our questions about Belize and its history. Wonderful tour and wonderful people!

A little over a year has passed since my visit to Taste Belize, and I can confidently say I think about my experience at least once a day. My partner and I visited in March '24 for the farm stay with Lyra—truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Lyra was the epitome of hospitality and incredibly knowledgeable. She introduced us to the farm's flora and fauna, taught us the chocolate-making process, and guided us in cooking meals using ingredients grown and foraged on the farm. She thoughtfully tailored the entire experience to our interests. Seeing Dan, the resident wild Tapir, was a fun added bonus :) After our farm stay, we visited the shop. We're still dreaming about the chocolate bars and cocoa butter we purchased. I highly recommend Taste Belize to anyone visiting Belize who is looking for a truly unique and unforgettable experience. Thank you so much, Lyra, for your engaging hospitality and for sharing your incredible knowledge with us.

One of the best ways to kick off a trip to Belize? A food tour with Taste Belize—hands down! My husband, son, and his girlfriend joined me for this incredible experience on our second night, and it set the tone for the rest of our vacation. From the moment we met Lyra, we knew we were in for something special. She’s not just knowledgeable—she’s passionate about Belizean cuisine, culture, and history, which made every stop on the tour even more meaningful. We tasted everything from handcrafted chocolate to seaweed shakes and the freshest seafood, each bite telling a story of the country’s rich flavors. Beyond the food, this tour is about connection—walking through the village at night, sharing stories, and getting a real feel for Placencia’s vibrant local scene. If you’re visiting, this should be at the top of your must-do list. Trust me, you’ll not only eat well, but you’ll walk away with a whole new appreciation for Belizean cuisine! Thank you, Taste Belize, for an unforgettable evening!

We did two great tours with Taste Belize. I highly recommend doing their walking tour of Placencia early in your visit to know where to go for delicious food in town. We also did the chocolate farm and Mayan ruins tour. It’s a long drive but worth the trip! Everyone from my 78yo mother to my 10yo son had a wonderful time learning about and making chocolate from Juan at Ixcacao. Our wonderful Taste Belize guide Rigo really brought the Mayan ruins to life and taught us so much about the land and people of Belize along the trip.

We did the walking dinner tour with Peter. He fed us at 7 different spots and let us try over 20 different foods. Many of the places weren't where we would have chosen to go on our own and we're so glad we tried them. He was great, the food was great, and we learned so much. I highly recommend going shortly after you arrive. It will help you acclimate and know where you must eat again.

10/10 experience!!! Our guide Rebecca was amazing, a very knowledgeable local who informed us about Belizian food and culture. She talked us through the chocolate making process and we got to taste test, followed by restaurant “hopping”!! Everything was exquisite, amazing service. Definitely recommend!

Our favorite activity in Belize so far has been the night food tour. Incredibly knowledgeable guide Lyra really showed us the gems and gave us a history lesson and a ton of insight on life here. 10/10. So much fun.

We had a fantastic time on Taste Belize even on the hottest day! This walking tour was possible for our group of 11 ages 1-80 thanks to our golf carts! We loved the seaweed shakes, gelato, and other local cuisine! Our guide was very educated and personable. Would highly recommend!
