Taste Budd's Chocolate & Coffee Cafe

Had to do some work there on my laptop- enough tables and people there respectful and not noisy and no annoying music. Food was spectacular. I felt very comfortable there.

wonderful experience here-- fudge is amazing and every flavor was great!! Workers were super nice and helpful in choosing a selection, and my friends and I are thankful. kinda pricey, but honestly, if you love fudge and/or a quality sweet treat with a wonderful local cafe vibe, this is the place for you

Every time I go into Taste Budd’s it’s feels like a micro-retreat from the circus of life. The staff are always chill and friendly, the ambience is delightful and cozy, and the food and confections are so comforting and delicious. Love the whimsical and cheeky names of some of the desserts, and so glad they provide a space for open mics!

My husband and I have been coming here for 14 years. He First pick this place because I love coffee and fudge. But we come at least three times a year and the sandwiches and wraps are amazing. They’re fresh fruit. Coffee is amazing and all of their sweets are.

As someone that works virtually I enjoy visiting different cafes and coffee shops around the country. This little privately owned cafe in the small quaint village of Redhook New York has become a second home. The atmosphere is comfy and inviting, the staff friendly and courteous. The coffee is free trade and the treats…well, you’ll have to find out for yourself. My Personal favorite is the vegan nut bar, It almost sounds healthy even though it taste anything but. And if you are someone who works virtually I encourage you to stop and have a coffee and grab a table and stay a while 5 stars only because that’s the highest I can go on here

What a gem this place is! When walking up to the shop, I was captivated by the beautiful garden, trellis, and patio. The interior is spacious with a guitar theme on one wall and local eclectic art everywhere else. There are so many treats to choose from- New York cheesecake, macaroons, muffins, cookies, scones, fudge. All looks professionally made and delicious. I went with the magic cookie bar and it did not disappoint! I’m from Colorado and always visit this coffee shop when visiting family in upstate New York. It’s quaint, friendly, make you feel right at home.

This was my first time at Taste Budd's Cafe and I look forward to coming back soon. While I only had a scone the assortment of food could satisfy any palette. My chocolate chip scone was huge and comforting. The service was friendly and quick. From the moment I walked in I loved the cozy, welcoming, homey vibe. It felt like the old coffee houses I grew up with. People chatting at tables, reading books, working on computers and even painting at a table. I had a meeting with a new editor and despite the noise around us managed to have the necessary focused time together. I can't wait to return. Might even bring my computer and work on my memoir here.

Love, love, love the raspberry smoothie! So fresh and truly flavorfu! One of the best I've ever had! The blueberry crumble muffin was crumbly-crunchie on top ans filled with lots of berries. Definitely come see for yoursel!

I'm a local and I can tell you that locals, visitors, and the Bard college students all love this place for a good reason. It's what one pictures when you think of a "cozy coffee shop", with all the amenities: comfy couches, plenty of outlets, good WiFi, amazing coffee and goodies GALORE. Parking: street only (only downside) Service: always friendly Ambience: cozy hippy, not hipster. Think groovy pillows and lyrical decor. Hard tabletop chairs though, for those who may need to sit for hours at a time. Adorable outside seating Food: so many options for literally anyone. I've never brought someone who couldn't find something to enjoy, and their breakfast sandwiches are sizable, almost massive Drinks: more options than one would find at Starbucks, for sure. The menu is almost overwhelming, but even if you order something wrong, you're going to enjoy it

The food is delicious, extremely attentive and friendly employees, and such a great cozy warm vibe inside. You could easily grab a quick bite or stay and do some work!! Also no wait on a snowy Saturday midday which is great.

I tried The Delhi Express, it is like a dirty chai & very Good. I had a peanut butter explosion cookie which was very good also. I like that you can relax & enjoy your drink or breakfast & lunch there. Everyone is so Nice & Helpful

The food is reasonably good but the ambiance can vary depending upon who is present. The service is pretty much nonexistent-you have to get your own coffee, water, etc and you need to bus your own table, although sometimes a real person will bring out something that someone has ordered, especially if it could not be prepared quickly by the kitchen staff.

We needed a pick-me-up at work so we decided to order out for lunch. The online menu is easy to use. We all put in our order and our food was ready by the projected time. Pick-up was easy- there is a shelf with your name on it with all of your bags. We got the Budds Boost Burrito and 2 Goblins. We also got chips and their version of a cafe mocha. Everything tasted fresh and delicious! Although we didn't eat inside, TBs always had a great vibe, and service is well-organized.

The minute me and this absolute stud of a man i was with fell in love with the rich smell of the fresh brewed coffee brewing! But then it got way better....we caught grom the corner of our eyes the most incredible treats in the world! I highly recommend this awesome place!

Taste Budd's hits the spot. It has that true coffee house feel and awesome food menu. Local hub for artists to exhibit their work. They sell used books for 2$ each. The seating is comfy couches, tables, counter, or outdoor seating. People come here to work online and spend a few hours. They also sell candy and pastries. There's really too much to include everything in a review. Check out their online menu. The food is very good.

One of the few places open on an early Tuesday morning. Easy to miss, as the cafe looks more like a house with a garden than a place to eat. Inside, plenty of room with seating at tables and stools along the windows. Kept it light by ordering a Pumpkin Muffin ($3) and a Large Coffee ($2ish). Muffin is fantastic - moist inside with a little crust on top from some seeds. Also like that the pumpkin isn't overpowering, since it would have been weird with the coffee. The drink itself is your basic fare, large but not very strong. There seemed to be a book club meeting of some sort that morning, though it didn't affect service. For warmer days, the outside seating looks inviting.

Stopped here on the way to Lake George via CT, and we enjoyed it very much. Great menu with lots of options and a cozy inside. If we're ever passing by again, we'll definitely be back!

Taste Budd's Cafe is a great place to go in Red Hook. The drinks are made well, the bakery items are good and the service is always pleasant and friendly. Sandwiches and salads are excellent as well. A definite go-to place when I'm in RH.

Hi, my name is Jim & I stopped today at Taste Budd's Cafe in Red Hook NY. I ordered my Aztec Cocoa with extra spice & 2 shots of espresso. It is my favorite drink !!! Delicious. My wife likes the Oatmilk Chai Latte with cinnamon on top, & we always get 2 oatmeal raisin cookies !!! The staff are so friendly & the Barista's I think use magic to make all of our drinks. While in Taste Budd's they always have local art work on display . The current art work is very colorful & happy with Peace and Love as a theme. Come join us sometime & maybe we will see you at Taste Budd's Cafe!!! Bravo to all the Wonderful People working at Taste Budd's!!!

Found Taste Budd's Cafe while on a quest to find good coffee while visiting Rhinebeck and happy we ventured off to Red Hook. Enjoyed a caramel latte and light and crispy cheese danish just the way I like it. I'll definitely be back to try more from their assortment of pastries. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

I have such mixed feelings about this place. It definitely has potential but misses the mark a lot on lunch. They seem to be a cafe, a confectionary, a bakery, and a coffee bar. The food is fair and I would say pricey for what it is. A tuna melt was about $10 served between two standard sized pieces of toast and a pickle spear. It would have been nice to offer a side or some greens. Same goes for the mozzarella sandwich served on a small ciabatta roll. The beer burger was decent sized but also no fries, potato salad, greens, or anything. The soups are meh and as good as they sound I would say skip them. To order your food you go up to the counter, make your selections and pay and they give you a sign with a number to place on your table. However, that's only for them to bring you food; you will need to keep checking the separate coffee counter for your drinks and get them yourself. The coffee was decent but the turmeric latte fell flat with very little flavor and not the nice yellow color we usually expect. One of the coffees was in a to go cup with a straw lid and I asked if they could give me another lid for the car since this one was open and the associate taped up the gap with scotch tape and told me that they don't have to go lids so usually just tape it....strange! We also tried the homemade muffins both wild berry and coffee cake and both were very good. As far as atmosphere the place is a dive but not in a cool way. It's a bit run down and tired with mismatched dated furniture and definitely in need of a makeover. There was a guitar and large speakers in the corner so I assume they must feature live music. In the back of the place they have a counter where they sell fancy chocolates and macarons. I assume they must sell a lot because there was quite a variety and while we were there trays of macarons were being brought out from the back and loaded on the shelves. All and all this is a place for healthy style food, decent deserts, and friendly workers that desperately needs a makeover and some tweaks to the dishes and service. It can also get very expensive (we paid over $60 for 3 lunches, drinks, and a few muffins). I gave them 3 stars feeling generous but probably with all things considered it should be 2.5.

The place itself, the product it offers and the quality of that product are unmatched for miles on either side of the River. However, whatever they've done to find their staff is the most impressive of all.

What a lovely coffeehouse PLUS! It's packed. It's always full of out-of-towners or laptops using wifi. The staff tries to keep laptop campers from taking over entire tables but people can be d!cks. The staff, however, are infinitely helpful and patient- and they have to be. The menu is AWESOME!! Try the pain au chocolat and macarons! They have something for everyone and SO much more. The chocolates are a-mazing! Dare I say they give Krauss' (chocolatier in Saugerties and hands down my fav) a run for their money but the diversity and presentation is exemplary. This place makes Red Hook even better. The dining area is warm and inviting. If you are not from the area, this fine establishment represents the best of Dutchess & the Hudson Valley- at super reasonable prices.

Food was good, but nothing about it stood out. We ordered sandwiches and a coffee cake, but the girl who took our order never gave us the coffee cake. There were quite a few gnats or large fruit flies buzzing around while we ate, which was surprising for mid-November, which made me wonder about the kitchen conditions. Seemed like a nice place for a student hangout/study spot and probably weekend live music nights.

Delicious breakfast at Taste Budd's this morning. Since I haven't had oatmeal in a long while, I chose to order some with apples, cranberries, walnuts and brown sugar. SO GOOD!! Of course, I had a nice cup of coffee along with it. The servers are very sweet and welcoming. I look forward to have a muffin with my coffee next time

Place is right in the heart of Red Hook and is a good spot to grab a nice lunch with quality made ingredients.The use a lot of organic ingredients and the prices are comparable to other trendy places. I would call ahead to order as it can be a wait if you decide to order when your on-site.I had the Budds Booster Burrito. it had a good amount of chicken in it and the sauce was not too spicy .

One of those cafes that implodes on itself when more than four people are wanting to order something , staff working hard at withholding looks of panic at the coffee machine and cash register , a huge sprawling hand written menu in a hand that's difficult to read, arrows on the floor to maintain confusion and signs everywhere stating rules and points of view. Needs a good manager and barista.

Delicious food. I live locally and have never had anything other than sweet treats from Taste Budds. I had a Chicken wrap with pesto on a whole wheat wrap. Wow!! Absolutely delicious & nutritious! Service was fast and the young people working were friendly enough and helpful. Will definitely be going back for lunch again sometime soon.

Love the food and ambience sometimes you have to wait a bit they get quite a little crowd. I crossed the bridge and come quite away to get here but it's a must!

Up hear working found this amazing cute cafe with indoor and out door seating and great customer service good coffee and good vegan options the vegan nut bar is a very good choice; however I don't like their choice of vegan bacon, it's like the brand you can buy in the store that one always stick together and break up and it can be salty. Outside of that I think you will enjoy it here they have a good menu

The Beet It Burger is my favorite veggie burger!! Delicious! House-made beet, black bean, beet, sweet potato and quinoa veggie burger with mixed greens, tomato, and garlic mayo on a cafe roll. Thanks, Taste Budd's!

FOOD WAS GREAT! Tasted delicious and was fairly priced. Also there are a variety of items on the menu to choose from. probably the BEST part BY FAR was their wonderful, hard-working, curly haired employee, Noah, the experience is boosted exponentially when Noah is working, just his presence makes everything taste better and makes me happy. make sure to strike up a conversation about Bill Gates being involved with the largest commercial hand sanitizer manufacturer in the world, he is very knowledgeable on the topic.
