This is the best authentic Indian food I've had in Murfreesboro and the surrounding area. The chicken Tikka Masala is the best dish in my opinion, and has earned praise from me and anyone I take to the restaurant. However, it isn't just the Tikka Masala - all their curries are fantastic. The staff is very friendly and will customize your dish to your taste. The food takes a while to be served, but it is well worth the wait. And that way, you know your food is being made fresh. Prepare for a fun afternoon of dining and hanging out with your friends as you sip their Taj Mahal beer (one of my favorite beers ever). I enjoy the main dishes more so than the buffet they serve during lunch, as the food seems fresher. But the buffet is by no means bad, and is a good opportunity to try multiple dishes. I have never been disappointed coming here, and recommend coming here to anyone who likes Indian food.

The food here was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was very nice and I thought the restaurant was super clean. The prices were definitely reasonable. I really can’t wait to come back again. The food was so good. We ate it probably too quickly. The photo show food after we had a bite or two, so the portions are a little bit more than what you see.

My wife & I walked in about 1 hour before closing, and we were able to choose our seating w/ no wait. The menu is well-printed, easy to navigate, and well-sectioned out. The food was >>very<< good, the staff was very accommodating without being overbearing, and everything was clean (including the restrooms). The food did take a little bit to come out, but it was worth the wait and we were allowed to sit past closing time. We would def come back! This place is a good replacement to the Lao restaurant in the same space before it, and good competition to the other Indian restaurants in the area.

I found this place while picking up a to-go order for Uber Eats. This place is truly a hidden gem, tucked away right off Eleanor Way. First of all, I would like to express how warm and welcoming this place felt walking in. I walked in and immediately could see how unified and family-oriented the owners were as all of their family pitched in and helped out. I was able to try their Butter Chicken and garlic Naan which was phenomenal in flavor. The presentation was very appealing and the temperature of the food was hot and fresh. I enjoyed my whole experience from the moment I walked into their facility. I plan on returning with my family and look forward to becoming a regular customer. They were very cordial and attentive. Come out and support their business, they gave 5-star vibes in their flavor and customer service ♥️.

The tastiest indian lunch buffet I've ever had. The naan is made to order and the buffet has all of the staple dishes you would expect. Flavor was on point! I left fully satisfied!!

I've been eating Indian food for well over 50 years. Taste of India is the most flavorful. Full disclosure. I've eaten off of the buffet 3 times and loved it every time. I have not ordered off of the menu. All of my favorites are on the buffet, but they Taste so much better. I can Taste the love the chef puts into it. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and has happy helpful staff. A quick update: Let me be clear about Taste of India; I love this place. The Chef is a master of flavor in his cooking. Simply put their food Tastes so good. Both the buffet as well as ordering off the menu. They are a regular stop for us.

Excellent Indian restaurant! The mango chicken was a standout—perfectly balanced with sweet and savory flavors. The butter chicken was incredibly creamy, rich, and packed with authentic spices. The rice came in a generous portion, easily enough to share or savor solo. The mango lassi was delicious, and the cherry naan was subtly sweet with just the right hint of cherry. The service was top-notch too; our waitress was attentive, friendly, and went out of her way to make us feel welcome. Highly recommend this spot for anyone craving exceptional Indian cuisine!

My new favorite Indian lunch buffet!!! Everything was fresh and sooo good. Service was amazing, buffet price very reasonable ($12.99), and it is a cute place to sit down and eat! Highlights were the butter chicken, gulab jamun, tandoori chicken, saag, and naan, but I tried and liked everything! We will be back!

Went for the lunch buffet. Great selection, excellent taste, great price as well. I wish they had tikka masala, but their butter chicken is perfect. Great service, clean and elegant interior.

Baseline: I lived and worked in SE Asia where there are many South Asians and where ingredients are plentiful. Have never been to India. Have had great Indian food in SE Asia. Taste of India makes some of the best Indian food I have had in the US. The menu is Gujarati. Chef Paul put in quite a bit of time at Clay Pit in Murfreesboro, TN. (I am also a fan of Clay Pit but the selections are somewhat different here.) This review is for menu items. We have not yet tried the buffet. So many great and interesting items on the menu. This is going to take a while for us to delightfully work through the menu. Overall, attention to detail is obvious. Each dish is impeccably plated. From the humble basmati accompaniment to the fresh, light and chewy naan. No dish is too humble for this kitchen. The result is tasty, savory delicious food where you can taste the layers. My family has been twice and we're going tonight for a third time. Each time, we were very impressed with each dish. We also ordered all of our dishes "hot" at our last visit and that helped further highlight the savoriness of each of the dishes. Tonight, we're going to target the curries. The kitchen takes a little time to prepare your food. Don't expect to get your food within minutes. The wait is worth it. Some dishes we have enjoyed: Chicken 65 Paneer burji Vegetable pakora Biryani - lamb and shrimp Aloo methi (methi is Fenugreek) Samosas chaat (for anyone who doesn't like garbanzo beans, I think this is the cure) All I can say is go, yesterday. Just wow!

Had the lunch buffet at Taste of India on Friday, February 7, 2025 at noon. The restaurant is a little bit hidden from the main road, but you can't miss it! This restaurant was empty during this time, which I have to be honest, made me feel a little skeptical about the freshness of the buffet. At first glance the buffet bar might look unassuming, but after I had my first plate I kept going back for more! That butter chicken is such a comfort Indian classic because it eats so well with rice and the naan bread. The chicken was moist and the sauce was just chef's kiss. I also enjoyed the vegetable pakora, which tasted crispy and light. The mango chicken had a nice balance between the sweetness and the spices. Another favorite was the lamb keema matar, a dish I've never had before and certainly will be on the lookout for when I go to other Indian restaurants. The lamb flavor was mellow, yet prominent. Overall, good spice levels and flavors throughout the buffet items I tried. The salad bar was simple, but it was enough to add some freshness to the meal. Only thing missing were some fresh fruits to eat after the meal. Service was excellent. The servers were very nice and regularly checked to make sure everything was to satisfaction. The buffet didn't have any hot sauce, so they were able to accommodate and whip out their own concoction of a hot sauce from the kitchen. They also have different options of naan bread (e.g. plain, butter, garlic,) available. For $13/person, this was an excellent price for an unlimited lunch buffet of Indian comfort food. Highly recommend!

Don't miss out on the incredible experience of Taste of India has to offer! It's hidden on the north side of town, by the new Koji's right down from barre 11. I had the pleasure of dining there for lunch today and was thoroughly inspired by the serene atmosphere. With only one other group dining inside, I hope that by sharing this, their business will flourish and more people will get to enjoy this gem. Although the buffet looked impressive, we decided to order from the menu and were blown away by the expertly prepared dishes that exceeded our expectations. In my opinion, it's the best Punjabi restaurant in town, and the owner Paul, is remarkably warm and welcoming. He took a moment to come out and engage in conversation with us, making us feel right at home. Everything is made from scratch, and you can smell the incredible aromas and flavors wafting from the kitchen. The naan was cooked to perfection, and I could have easily made a meal out of it alone. I also ordered appetizers, including the somosa dish, somosa chaat, dal makhani, and Punjabi kadi. The Punjabi Kadhi was the best I've had since the original owners of the old claypit, which explains the exceptional quality. This place is worth seeking out! Truly some of the best Indian Food I've ever had. The Butter Chicken is especially good. The portions are generous and the service is very friendly without being overly attentive.

Saturday 11/1/25, my friend took myself & my daughter there for lunch to the buffet. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the staff was attentive and the meal was different, but delicious. I live up the hill from there and will definitely find myself taking a walk down the hill back for a "Taste of India" again. My daughter who is picky, enjoyed the food as much as I did.

Awesome new Indian spot on the North Boro side! They just recently opened a few days ago and are still working out the kinks, but it was worth the wait!! We tried several different dishes and had such a superb meal! The grilled paneer tikka was fantastic and served on a sizzling fajita style plate with onions, peppers and limes. The chicken vindaloo was tasty and plentiful with chicken. The naans we tried (one chilli and one garlic) were fantastic and SO fresh and house made. The pappadam appetizer was nice and crunchy and served with 3 delicious dips. Now to the best: one of the single best Indian dishes we've tried (and we've been to Indian spots all over the world) was their Lamb Korma. That lamb was so tender, but the star of the show was the Korma sauce! It tasted so fresh, homemade, and soul-warming that I could (hygiene aside) SWIM in that sauce. Perfect! for a cold winter day. Very much like a southern gravy with Indian style spices. A complete home run. Thanks Taste of India! We'll be back again soon!

We loved it! A little pricey. Tried many dishes and naan bread. Chicken noodles were very good.

If you enjoy Indian food you will love this place. I eat here often and it's no mistake or chance that I just got a lucky night. The food is excellent every time!

The taste of India was super nice The menu was very vast a bit overwhelming but lots of options and authentic choices I absolutely adore Indian food and I love that the taste of India offers a vast variety lunch special in buffet style which is really amazing everything was really tasty not all things were super fresh the tea that I had was really good and all of their sauces are super fresh My absolute favorite is the green mint sauce It's delicious it's perfect it pairs well with the non they bring out fresh naan that was amazing garlic naan

Best Indian food in the area! Got the lamb vindaloo and my wife got the chicken vindaloo. Both were fantastic!!!!! The best Naan I've ever had - we tried garlic and chili.

Amazing food! A true treat from the moment we walked in the smells were mouth watering. Our service was too notch, we felt right at home. We will definitely be back over and over again.

Welcome home. North Indian Punjabi cooking at its best! Crispy naan..savory AlooGobi...Chicken TikKa Masala.. hot tender Gulab Jamuns in sweet syrup.. each dish was delicious. I highly recommend coming to this inviting restaurant. I was treated as a special guest when the owner walked with me and told me about each dish. I felt very comfortable as each table is beautifully decorated with flowers and a pleasant atmosphere.

I ordered take out Chicken Tikka Masala and Garlic Naan. It was wonderful! I Enjoyed it very much. Just pulling into the parking lot the wonderful smells fill the air. I highly recommend you try this business.

I had the chicken tikka Marsala. The sauce was good but the chicken was dry and tough. My husband had the tandoori chicken and it did not have much flavor. My daughter had lamb korma and only had 3 pieces of meat in her sauce and said it was chewy. This was my first bad experience with Indian cuisine.

We picked up some take out last night and it was delicious!!! The Aloo Gobi, which was packed with flavor - the spices were balanced just right, and the best we've ever had. The papadam and naan were freshly baked, and gulab jamun were a tasty way to finish our meal. The service was friendly and fast. Overall, it's a great addition to the neighborhood, and we'll definitely be back to explore more of their menu! It's so nice to have a good Indian restaurant on this side of town, highly recommend!!

This is an absolute phenomenal place. The staff is so kind and welcoming, the food is amazing and I mean amazing. Great flavor, great portion sizes, just so good. We got an appetizer, 2 entrees, a masala tea and fountain drinks and it was only $50... tell me where else you can go and get the same amount of food for that much haha especially Indian.

Entered the restaurant and was immediately greeted with a warm & friendly welcome. Food was hot and fresh, priced well and taste was complimentary. Would recommend to anyone!

Excellent food and service that really makes you feel like you have entered somebodies home. We had several different dishes and got an assortment of breads and everything was loaded with flavor. The staff went out of their way to make us feel like we were at home. Will be coming back.

Can I give 6 stars? I've eaten at dozens of Indian restaurants in the middle Tennessee area and Taste of India is definitely one of the best. We've been 3 times in 2 months and it's better each time. It's perfect for a date night or excellent for a family meal. The staff is so friendly and helpful. They respect your spice level requests and really want you to enjoy your meal. We cant wait to come back again.

Best Indian food in the Boro...Taste of India in N Murfreesboro. We've eaten there twice and the food is exceptional. Pictured are chicken biryani, chicken malai kebab, vegetable samosa, garlic naan and chicken tikka masala. That was the first meal. Last night we had butter chicken, chicken korma and chicken vindaloo. Everything is excellent. The meats and dishes are very flavorful. Rice is aromatic and moist, not clumpy. Naan is very garlicky and moist, not dry. This place addresses all my past disappointments in other restaurants. They just opened and it's been empty both Saturday nights. Trying to get the word out so they are successful. For context my husband and I travel a lot and we try Indian everywhere we go...before this place Dishoom in Edinburgh Scotland was our favorite...please try it!

This was hands down the best Indian food I've ever had. If you are looking for an Indian place in Murfreesboro, go here. The service was fantastic and I felt welcome. While inside the restaurant, I was surrounded by good Indian music, the delicious smells of exotic dishes laden with spices I've never seen, and bits of languages I don't know spoken by customers and staff alike. It was a cultural immersion unlike anything I've experienced in Tennessee, matched with food so rich in flavor you can tell no expense was spared in its preparation. They are as authentic as it gets and their business is a reflection of that. People need to find out about this place.
