My husband and I ate here and loved it. He ordered the chicken coconut curry and I ordered the butter chicken. We had the Gobi Manchurian as an appetizer and we loved it. The Garlic Naan was also very tasty. The service was very good. We will be going back! Also, with regards to some of the other comments we’ve read: we were greeted by the “black and bald” gentleman with glasses. He was courteous and respectful, and when we left he was the one who wished we came back as we walked out the door. Several people seemed to complain about him in other reviews but I think those people may be too sensitive of people who don’t feel it necessary to force a smile when working in a restaurant. This gentleman in particular was the first person who greeted us in a respectful manner and I feel that’s all that anyone can ask for! We had a great experience!

This was the first time for my wife and I visiting. It was a great experience! We were the first ones there right at opening for the lunch buffet. The service was great and with a clean restaurant. My son enjoyed the cultural music videos playing on the screen providing music while we ate. Many great options of different foods to try. Of course the tika masala was our favorite today. We left full and happy but let me tell you, the mango ice cream is the most amazing way to finish a meal. We will be back.

Google
I have been coming here for years, and it's the first time I have done a review. I absolutely love this place. The food is consistently delicious year after year. The lunch buffet is from 11-2:30, Monday through Friday. They close at 3 and reopen for dinner at 5:00. There is NO dinner buffet. The buffet is clean, well filled, and colorful. You can try a little of this and that. For you vegetarians out there, they have you abundantly covered. There's curry goat and even curry fish, a personal favorite. But the cabbage....🥲 There is a cabbage dish that is my favorite. It has chickpeas and, well, just go try it, it's always there! They also have ice cream and a small variety of items for your sweet tooth. My friend loves the mango ice cream. Do you know what else? The service is just absolutely amazing. Everyone is helpful, and they never forget me! They know this face! Lol! Stop by and get yourself a really delicious meal cooked by really good folks. Places like this are gems, and we need to make sure to show them love. Support Local when you can.

Google
Not only does this place offer my favorite Indian food, but the best FOOD I've ever had. Their buffet has a very diverse offering and has the same quality as their dinner service! You can't go wrong with any entree. I'd have it breakfast, lunch, and dinner if their buffet didn't stuff me the whole day.. Got someone not sure if they'll like Indian? This is the place to try. I can't praise it enough!

Google
This was my first time experiencing this beautiful restaurant with a peaceful ambiance. The customer service was impeccable. They consistently were making sure we were taken care of in every way possible. The whole staff was very attentive. The food was served very quickly, and everything I ordered tasted was SO delicious. The portions were huge enough that I had to take some home. The bathrooms were very clean along with the rest of the restaurant. Overall amazing experience, and I can't wait to taste more of their delicious food.

Google
I really enjoyed eating here! The staff was incredibly welcoming and made me feel like they would bend over backwards to ensure we had a great meal. Their attentiveness and genuine hospitality really stood out. I stepped outside my comfort zone and ordered the goat special—it was incredible. Rich, bold flavors that were truly memorable. It’s worth noting that the dish had some tiny bones in the sauce, which is authentic to the preparation but might surprise diners unfamiliar with it. One thing I especially appreciated was how the staff recognized that not all Americans are used to the heat level in traditional Indian food. They thoughtfully adjusted the spice level to match my comfort zone without compromising on flavor. The naan was soft, warm, and perfect for soaking up the sauces, and the cauliflower appetizer was absolutely outstanding—crispy, flavorful, and a must-try. All in all, a fantastic experience with delicious food and truly considerate service. I’ll definitely be returning.

Google
Came here for the first time for our daughter's birthday. Never had Indian food before, and it was delicious! We ate till we were full and still had left overs. Indian food is spicy, but they offer a mild option. The staff was pleasant and attentive, and enjoyed sharing their delicious cuisine with customers. Definitely recommend!!!

Google
We ate during their dinner hours. The food was delicious!! They have spice level options for those who are and aren’t spice tolerant. The waiter was very polite and friendly, always smiling! The restaurant is clean; they take good care of the place. They also have mango ice cream.

Yelp
The food is phenominal. The service is excellent. The stmosphere is fun and lively. I wil return again.

Yelp
Taste of India's buffet for $20 during lunch is a perfect place to get familiar with Indian cuisine. If you have never tried Indian food, come to Taste of India during lunch. Their buffet features a little bit of everything from Korma, Saag, to Chicken Tika Masala. They also have some goat and shrimp dishes. Get transported into India in middle of Pensacola while you dine in their dining room filled with decorations inspired from India. I remember when they first started at a motel located on Scenic Hwy.

Swati V.

Yelp
Really liked the service! Amazing staff! The food was great garlic naan was awesome and mango ice cream were the best.

Jeremy S.

Yelp
The service was great and the food was amazing. Hands down the best Indian food I have had.
google avatar

Lauren S.

Yelp
We order take out from here almost every weekend - it's that reliable! The butter chicken and tikka masala are delicious.

Payton E.

Yelp
I was so excited to try this food. The service was so terrible. I went to pick up my food and the waiter treated me with such disrespect a because he thought I was a door dasher. I loved taste of India at the Destin location. So very disappointed before I even got to try the food. If that's how you treat people then you will fail. Karma works in very powerful ways.. best of luck and I'm sorry for the bad review but that was a frustrating experience. Just disappointed..

Yelp
I had a craving for Indian food, so I decided to try the Taste of India, a cozy family-owned restaurant with friendly staff who seated us promptly. The menu offered a wide range of options, and our orders were taken quickly. The appetizers arrived at the perfect time, allowing us time to enjoy them before the main course. The food was exceptionally delicious, with every bite bursting with flavor. Delicious!!!! Very good portions of food for a party of four and even took food back home. The restaurant was clearly popular, with a steady stream of customers and a busy takeout service.

Yelp
I went there for my bday and tried their lunch buffet. $20 and they have goat is a decent price point. Everything was tasty. Servers were good and the owner even came by to ask how our meal was. Friendly. He also highly suggested we try the mango ice cream made fresh daily. It was good. Heavy. Easy place to find. Good parking. I hope they can do dinner buffets as well.
google avatar

Nelson H.

Yelp
They have a good lunch buffet. A little expensive, but I say that about every Indian restaurant
google avatar

Sanjana R.

Yelp
Ordered takeout from here, but food was packed very well, there was no leakage at all, and they also provided utensils. I was craving the Chicken Biryani and Chicken 65, and since there are not many Indian restaurants in Pensacola, I thought this place did pretty well. The food was very flavorful, however it wasn't spicy at all for me. The mango lassi was ok too, nothing out of the ordinary. Portion size for the biryani was perfect. I'd visit the restaurant again!

Yelp
We were gonna hit Mcguires Irish pub, but the line was insane! Unexpectedly such a blessing in disguise. A short walk away from Mcguires is Taste of India! The food was amazing, it was a calm and relaxing atmosphere, and we hardly had to wait at all to get our food. The tikka Masala is next level and my BF really enjoyed the Taj Mahal beer!
google avatar

Hana C.

Yelp
Two words: SO. FLAVORFUL! Absolutely blown away by the quality of this food - every single thing we got was incredibly delicious. For starters, the mulligatawny soup and chicken 75 were delicious! My vegetable coconut curry was hands down the best curry I've ever had - such a perfect blend of savory and sweet. This is was our first time here but absolutely not our last. Cannot recommend enough!!!!

Laura S.

Yelp
We ordered, per suggested by our sever, chicken Mangalore, goat curry, and potato dosa. We were also treated to "Indian fudge" which was chickpeas blended with better.... outstanding! He also brought over a dessert that is hard to describe, but a white liquid that was creamy and we poured over rice. Everything that was recommended was amazing! The service was also incredible with more than one server curving checking on us, refilling waters, etc. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Lyne C.

Yelp
We came across this wonderful place during our trip! We ordered a mango lassi, cheese garlic naan, lamb chop, and goat curry! They all taste amazing with a power hit of different spices! They also got flavored rice along with the dishes as well! They are such an incredible combination! Thank you so much for our server recommendation, he also told us that the spiciness can adjust which helps out a lot!

Yelp
My bad i reviewed the wrong restaurant it was suppose to be the taste of India. we are going to dinner india tonight. I will let you know my right review. I apologize

Yelp
It's my first time here, and I really enjoyed our dinner after working on a super cold Sunday. The service was excellent as all the staff were super attentive. Our orders came out fast, and steaming hot! My absolute favorite was the Naan bread, I could eat it as is, all day! But I especially ordered it to dip into my Butter Chicken and my hubby's Korma Curry. It is absolutely divine and very delicious dipped in either sauces. I was really surprised by the Chicken 65 as our appetizer, which was their version of popcorn chicken. The spice and seasoning of the chicken worked so well together, plus the dipping sauce was chef's kiss. The colors of all the food also surprised me, since I didn't know all of my specific orders would be a hue of red; still delicious! Our server also gave us some complimentary desserts to try since we've never had them before. Which were all really good! I'm sure they're mostly vegan desserts since they're grain and sugar based. Can't wait to try other dishes! I'm not big on spicy food, but my hubby can handle a bit more spice than I could. So I usually try his spicy dishes if I want to experience any mouth burning sensation. Until our next Indian food adventure!

Yelp
Great food! Vegetarian and Vegan friendly. Tons of menu options as well as during the buffet. Love the Samosa Chaat!! One of the best things on the menu. Also love the paratha and vegetable korma. I always dine well here!
google avatar

Meliza H.

Yelp
Awesome buffet. A lot of choices. Wish they had samosas on buffet. Love the variety and taste of food. I highly recommend.

Aviam K.

Yelp
Both the food & hospitality were top-notch. This was our second visit, and we will be back

Katie W.

Yelp
The buffet is amazing!! Great variety of very different and tasty foods! Loved the desserts as well. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back.
google avatar

Jen C.

Yelp
We've been here twice and it's always delicious! Not fancy, but service is consistent and friendly. We love the samosa chaat. We've had the chicken biryani, the butter chicken, the naan, and some of the curries - everything is delicious.

Nik J.

Yelp
First let me say I am Indian so have high expectations for food quality and taste when it comes to Indian food. This place has great service and attentive staff. They keep going around checking on things and keep everything clean. The only reason for three stars is the food itself. Some of the most blandest Indian food I have ever had. I went during the lunch buffet and tried almost everything. I was hoping to find something strong but meh flavor throughout. Good variety though for sure. The tandoori chicken tasted lie they didn't really marinade for long and tasted more baked than tandoor cooked or grilled. The food was mediocre at best and at $23 per person with tax for a buffet I most likely will not be back.
google avatar

Michael L.

Yelp
Fantastic spot! Friendly staff, great buffet selection with fresh food. One of the best Indian buffets I've ever had in the states and I travel the country quite a bit. This place is a gem.
google avatar

Lorine M.

Yelp
Inside is nice and bright. Was seated pretty quickly. Prices were pretty on par with the portion size. The flavors were definitely there with the medium being pretty spicy but not over the top. Would go in again to continue to try more dishes so as long as they keep consistent portions
google avatar

Amona C.

Yelp
Incredible people and the food is even better! The overall look of the interior is stunning, nothing from what I expected walking in. If you're vegetarian I highly recommend this establishment as it has options for vegans and vegetarians. While the price may draw some people away it is more than worth it in my opinion. As a person who struggles to find vegetarian options that don't lack in flavor, this is my go to and if you do eat meat, I also highly suggest that you come here! Choices for everyone.
google avatar

Mikey H.

Yelp
this place is amazing!!! my favorite place to eat in pensacola!!!! I live in texas and I travel to pensacola about once a year to visit family over here and I always make sure to make time to come eat at this restaurant. This is my favorite Indian food place for several reasons: the staff are SO nice and help people who are new to Indian food pick what to order, they are knowledgeable about vegan/vegetarian options and they are clearly labeled on the menu, the food is more than delicious, and the atmosphere is so welcoming and wonderful. I just can't say enough how much I love this place!!
google avatar

Annie L.

Yelp
Nice welcoming ambience, good chicken tikka masala. The garlic naan was also good. Took off one star because the saag paneer was a bit watery and not the most flavorful I've had. I would definitely go back here! We placed an order for pickup and it came quickly and we were treated well.
google avatar

Becky M.

Yelp
We've driven by this place almost every day and finally we stopped in. Once you walked in the smell of spices hits your nose and you feel the hunger. We were sat as soon as we came in and surprisingly beat the crowd. The menu had some many options we weren't sure what we wanted. Almost all of us got something different and the flavors were amazing. Can't wait to go back and try something different again.
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
Traveled all over the world and have had some amazing Indian Cuisine. This is top of the food chain. Arguably the best Indian food I've had. Authentic flavors, prompt service and tremendous spice. Medium will do the trick for 99% of people. You better have some impressive tastebuds to eat a full meal of Hot. Crazy part - the heat doesn't effect the quality and flavor of the food. Ambiance is ok but fairly typical for an Indian restaurant. Portions are MORE than enough. Will absolutely go back.
google avatar

Euni B.

Yelp
My favorite Indian spot in town! Love the ambience of the restaurant. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. It's been months since I have been there. Food was amazing as usual however I don't handle spice too well and asked for no spice and it still came out spicy. Great flavors still! Also recommend Taj Mahal lager if you want to try a new brew. And the weekend buffet is great as well.

Yelp
High quality for an unlimited buffet. The mango ice cream is terrific and the chicken dishes were very tender. The place was clean and the dishes were always well stocked. The service was good with regard to cleanup and such. I'd go back. $25/head seemed a bit stiff but not obscene, especially considering the quality of the food.
google avatar

Lulu T.

Yelp
This is the best Indian restaurant in Pensacola. Been here three times now and the curries are top notch. I love the chai tea and mango lassi too, sooo delicious! Garlic naan is a must. Curries are a little expensive, generally $20-$25 dollar range.

rachel W.

Yelp
Taste of India is right, there's just a bit of a taste there, doesn't taste like any Indian food I've had, not good ones at least. I'd say it was fine if it was a $5 microwave meal but not for $20-$27 a plate. Iced chai was warm, and the Garlic Naan had enough garlic to kill a vampire from a 10 meter distance. Staff was also extremely rude, communicating to us in grunts and hand gestures. For $65 including a tip I wish I hadn't left for a pick up meal, I really wish I could go back in time, not spend the money and not have my taste buds assaulted.
google avatar

Brad G.

Yelp
I ordered Gobi Manchurian, Butter Chicken and Naan. Huge portions and beautifully packaged. I love Indian food and have had some pretty amazing experiences around the country so I was really excited to try Taste of India.

Karen M.

Yelp
We enjoyed my Daughter's birthday dinner at A Taste of India. Even though we arrived 30mins prior to closing, the chef & staff made us feel welcome. The food was so delicious, and portions were large enough we had plenty to take home. They topped off the evening by offering a dish of Homemade Mango ice cream for her birthday celebration. Thank you for such a wonderful dining experience - we will definitely be back soon! Matt, Karen & Keri
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing food. We ate at their buffet and it was so good. We had never had sautéed shredded cabbage. It was fantastic. It's the restaurant that I missed most, after returning back to my home state. Wonderful service. Polite staff. We even met a couple of snow birds that eat at Taste of India, every year as they pass through FL, after visiting relatives! Don't pass this restaurant up, it's terrific.
google avatar

Kinleigh C.

Yelp
I am SO happy we decided to go here! The food was incredible! The restaurant is cozy & beautifully decorated. The staff though... they made our night. They are the reason we will be returning. They were so tentative and kind! Our waiter, Nima, he was the best. He made sure we were well taken care of! All of the staff were awesome! Thank you Taste of India for providing such a lovely dinner experience for us! For dinner - we had the Baigan Bharta, the Lambshank, and garlic naan. For drinks - we had the mango lassie. Everything 10/10!
google avatar

Carol T.

Yelp
We really enjoyed this Indian restaurant. We ordered the lamb sag and the garlic onion naan was fantastic. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Prices were also very reasonable for the wine. be sure to save some space for dessert because they have a showcase of items that look delicious.
google avatar

Vijal P.

Yelp
It's a new restaurant little pricey, for an Indian restaurant. The quantity is not much for the price, they are overpriced at other locations as well I thought it would be different here
google avatar

Nina C.

Yelp
The service & food was delightful. We had Gobii Manchurian (cauliflower), lamb biryani and sag paneer with garlic cheese naan. Everything was flavorful and most enjoyable. The servers were attentive & helpful. TV with Indian music, cooking & dancing videos added to the experience. Dessert was soooo delicious! The mango ice cream was made by one of our very polite servers. Fresh mangoes imported from India. Wow! Simple ingredients tantalizing your tastebuds. Owner stopped by to say hello & sent home pastries for a birthday gift. Great place! ;)
google avatar

Chris H.

Yelp
First and foremost the food was absolutely delicious! My wife and I have been to a few Indian restaurants in a couple of different states. This is one of the best. The staff was very engaged and answered our questions and made recommendations. The restaurant was clean and moderately decorated. They had Indian music in the back ground. I highly recommend this place if you like Indian food. You will not be disappointed.

Al-jes C.

Yelp
Butter chicken was good and the Naan with it. The masala chicken meal was also pretty good too.
google avatar

Tonja S.

Yelp
The most important thing I need to say is it was absolutely delicious!! For dinner, we started with the Samosa (came with two different dipping chutneys: a sweet plum-like one and a spicy green one, both were great with the potato samosa, though the green was my favorite). Then we got the Mulligatawny (Lentil) Soup: holy wow!! It was SOOOO good, possibly our favorite of all the dishes. Perfect spices, flavors, temperature.. yum! We then shared the Butter Chicken entree (medium heat - I'm pretty average, for a white woman, with spicy-heat tolerance, my boyfriend probably could've gone hotter), and it was superb! The chicken was tender, the flavors were fantastic, and the perfectly cooked rice kept coming. We finished it off with the mango ice cream, and I just have to say, if you like mango, you MUST have this ice cream! So fresh, such beautiful rich mango flavor, not too sweet or milk-creamy, but not a sorbet either. Our server and the chef were so wonderful too, friendly and attentive, even with several full tables. If you're in the mood for some great Indian food, look no further!
google avatar

Pragati A.

Yelp
Horrible food and the service , asked for mild food and one dish came sweet and another was extremely hot and spicy , They did not want us there we did not feel welcomed the staff kept on coming to the table to ask for go boxes and cleaning the plate while my husband and daughter were still eating . Food was horrible not a place I will recommend from an Indian to anyone . If I could give zero or negative on the service food and staff all I would . The worst Indian restaurant I have ever been to .
google avatar

Ryan Z.

Yelp
This place offers good Indian food at an average price. I can't comment on the service since I just did the buffet, but no complaints. I sampled a very small portion of nearly all of their foods, and was impressed with 3 of them, some seemed a little bland, but overall you'd struggle NOT to find something you like. I was not impressed with their naan, but still ate it, and their chicken masala was very good along with a chick pea dish. I enjoyed the ambiance too, with authentic Indian music videos as is standard at most Indian restaurants and a clean, well-decorated restaurant. I will probably return, and recommend a try, especially during their lunch buffet.
google avatar

Yoko S.

Yelp
Love this place great god and great staff! I will be going back as many times as I can! It reminds me of a special place me and my husband go to in California! Definitely recommend this wonderful place!
google avatar

Simon W.

Yelp
During a visit to the area, I had a hankering for some Indian food. Its right by the bridge exit from Pensacola Beach. When we went, they had a lunch buffet which is a good deal and a fun way to try out various dishes. The food was ok, but nothing really had any spicy heat. It was filling but a somewhat unsatisfying experience as I kept hoping for, but not getting, a proper taste of Indian cuisine. Their beer selection is very good.

Travis K.

Yelp
Love this restaurant for there food very much. But I must say the customer service was awful. Very rude over the phone. 5star for food 1 star for customer service
