"Taste of Lisboa Lisbon foodie Filipa Valente is the hotshot behind Taste of Lisboa’s culinary tours, which take visitors a bit off the beaten path to some of the city’s most fashionable—but often overlooked by guidebooks—neighborhoods. With nary a tourist in sight, she leads guests around the wonderful Campo de Ourique area and its classic market for tasty alheira sausage croquettes, Portuguese-style mussels, and some seriously decadent chocolate cake. Of course, Valente also offers tours to more-traditional districts, but you can’t beat Campo de Ourique for a sampling of local treats."

The food tour was great! Pedro did a great job of mixing the history of Lisbon while taking us to some delicious eateries around the city. Throw in his singing and his terribly funny dad jokes and you’ll be guaranteed to have a great time!

We had a wonderful experience with the knowledgeable, enthusiastic, entertaining Daniel. This tour was the highlight of our Lisbon visit. It is an absolute must do on the visit to the city. Only a local would know where to eat and take in the flavor of the city as well as the food.

I booked this food tour after a friend who had visited Lisbon last year recommended it. We were a group of 9 people and spent 3 hours visiting the streets of Lisbon and getting to know some Portuguese specialties. Dani, the guide who welcomed and accompanied us, was very attentive to everyone in the group. She took us to different places and explained a little about the history of Lisbon and Portugal. We made 5 stops and ate and drank several times! She is a true hostess! The entire tour was very safe and I recommend this experience to anyone visiting Lisbon!

By far, the best food, culture, and history tour I’ve ever experienced. Dani was fantastic and her passion for Lisbon was undeniable! I highly recommend.

With so many food tour companies to choose from, it can be overwhelming deciding which one to book. We loved the Roots, Food & Culture walk with Daniela as our guide. She made the experience interesting & fun - her love for Lisbon & the locals’ love for her was obvious. Before leaving Lisbon, we re-visited some stops for a snack or to purchase things to bring home. Highly recommend this tour!

We joined the Taste of Lisboa food tour, sampling the delicious food of the more authentic, local establishments. Everywhere we went was a new adventure with amazing food and drink. Our host Daniel was very entertaining and knowledgeable and very passionate about his city. Would definitely recommend!

Our Taste of Lisboa food guide,Daniela Varela, is the best, most entertaining and informative guide that we ever have experienced. She is fun, emotive and lead our foody group on a Lisbon adventure mixing culture, history and the ethnicity and pride of Lisbonites into tales about delicious food and drinks. The knowledge and caring she expressed were incredible and long lasting. Yes, we were all schooled in Lisbon’s deep food culture and history and why the world benefited from the Portuguese seafaring ways. If you are curious of what this means book Taste of Lisboa with Daniela and you will be happy and better for it!
