"Taste of Lisboa Lisbon foodie Filipa Valente is the hotshot behind Taste of Lisboa’s culinary tours, which take visitors a bit off the beaten path to some of the city’s most fashionable—but often overlooked by guidebooks—neighborhoods. With nary a tourist in sight, she leads guests around the wonderful Campo de Ourique area and its classic market for tasty alheira sausage croquettes, Portuguese-style mussels, and some seriously decadent chocolate cake. Of course, Valente also offers tours to more-traditional districts, but you can’t beat Campo de Ourique for a sampling of local treats."

My wife & I, along with our 22 year old son took the Taste of Lisbon tour on Aug. 23. The tour, led by Daniela, was simply outstanding. Daniela was engaging, insightful & spirited during the entirety of our time with her, demonstrating her passion for and deep knowledge of the food, wine, culture & people of Lisbon/Portugal. We enjoyed the tour so much, we hated for it to end even after walking around the city for nearly four hours on a warm August afternoon. Daniela is not only the best tour guide of our two-week trip that included Barcelona, Girona & San Sebastián Spain and Porto & Lisbon Portugal, but she’s also a wonderful, warm and personable individual who loves sharing her excitement about the cuisine, history & culture of her city. Everywhere we went, people stopped her in the streets, restaurants and shops to greet her. Thanks so much, Daniela, for such an extraordinary tour of your beloved city!

The food tour was great! Pedro did a great job of mixing the history of Lisbon while taking us to some delicious eateries around the city. Throw in his singing and his terribly funny dad jokes and you’ll be guaranteed to have a great time!

Pedro was great! So knowledgeable and relaxed. He has a good sense of humor and kept history entertaining for our young adult kids. We enjoyed his choice of locations and feel like we saw so much more than we could have explored on our own. He also showed us the elevators which made all the difference for navigating Lisboa!

We had a wonderful experience with the knowledgeable, enthusiastic, entertaining Daniel. This tour was the highlight of our Lisbon visit. It is an absolute must do on the visit to the city. Only a local would know where to eat and take in the flavor of the city as well as the food.

By far, the best food, culture, and history tour I’ve ever experienced. Dani was fantastic and her passion for Lisbon was undeniable! I highly recommend.

An amazing experience! Raquel was our host and from the moment we arrived at the tour meeting spot, she was friendly and engaging. She did a wonderful job so I highly recommend her as a tour host although I realize hosts are scheduled for the different tours and I'm sure all are great! Raquel really knows her stuff and she took us to some of the best spots to sample some truly delicious food. Also, the info on Fado music and performers was particularly enlightening and our stop to sample the Ginjinha (sour cherry beverage) with Mr. Antonio was a special time. The drink is a must try! The range of food items is impressive on this tour and options are available for those with allergies or are vegan or other issues. Raquel was attentive to all and offered options to folks so everyone could participate. All in all, a great way to sample some authentic Portuguese food, get information from a knowledgeable local specialist and meet folks from around the world. I would say the timing for the tour works well (about 3 and a half hours) and is not rushed. Wear good walking shoes! Thank you for an excellent tour.

I booked this food tour after a friend who had visited Lisbon last year recommended it. We were a group of 9 people and spent 3 hours visiting the streets of Lisbon and getting to know some Portuguese specialties. Dani, the guide who welcomed and accompanied us, was very attentive to everyone in the group. She took us to different places and explained a little about the history of Lisbon and Portugal. We made 5 stops and ate and drank several times! She is a true hostess! The entire tour was very safe and I recommend this experience to anyone visiting Lisbon!

We joined the Taste of Lisboa food tour, sampling the delicious food of the more authentic, local establishments. Everywhere we went was a new adventure with amazing food and drink. Our host Daniel was very entertaining and knowledgeable and very passionate about his city. Would definitely recommend!
