Tate Furniture

I had to replace an oversized chair I have had for 12 years. It has been in many pictures as my grands have been growing and hated to part with it. I went back multiple times and they were so patient and kind. I wanted a specifoc look and size. Shopped other furniture stores and Tate's staff were top notch as well as the choices of chairs. I can't say enough good things about them. They have furnished many not my family's homes as well. After Christmas, the tree comes down and this will move to the window. This happens every year, so it has to be the right size.. So pleased with my purchase.

As you can tell I am looking for a new living room set in gray. They have great sofa's and prices are reasonable.I want a four seaters sofa. Not everyone is skinny,😁 I may have to get the three. Customer service great. Thanks Ray Robinson..

Horrible first time experience with them. I drove an hour away to try them out and was very disappointed. For the price you would think that they would be sure that you don’t get damaged furniture. When I got home this is what my dining table looked like. They didn’t offer me a discount price. Nobody asked me to inspect the furniture that was closed up in a box before leaving. Most definitely a first and last for me! Rooms to go is much better! Needs a knew owner and management!

Great looking furniture and great service. Very thankful for the patience of the sale person and even more for the two delivery young men. They were very attentive and very caring while bringing in the furniture and while putting it together. It was very refreshing to see somebody treat other people's things like they were their own. Thank you so much. We will be back.

I went here twice looking for a couch and was helped by several salesmen. They have an amazing selection, and all of the sales staff are nice and also knowledgeable. The couches also come with the pillows they are staged with!! Anyway, I paid the extra $125 for delivery - and it was very much worth it!! Delivery guys were very nice and efficient as well! And my couch is amazing. 10/10 quality. For the quality, the price of the items are very much worth it. My couch is very sturdy, soft and luxurious and I love it so much.

The drive from Opelika was well worth it! The store has a vast variety of furniture to choose from and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, helpful but not pushy and didn't create a "high pressure " scenario! We bought and delivery was as promised...on-time and the guys were polite and careful with our home and the furniture placement! We returned again a week later to purchase some additional furniture and again, received the same high level of service! Congratulations our furniture buying experience was great!

Tons to choose from and lots of character. Was impressed with the variety in trends and types of furniture. No pressure here. Was nice not to have someone breathing down my neck, yet finding hemp was easy and pleasant. Most of it appears to be of good quality a well.

The staff was helpful and friendly, but nobody pushed a sale or attempted an, 'upsale,' beyond my stated budget- as opposed to the two places I had been previously that day. Absolutely massive selection. Delivery/setup is reasonably priced. Their prices were competitive, and in many regards, the best pricing I had seen during the week of furniture shopping.

Purchased a table from here. Within 2 months, the table started bubbling up and getting white streaks. I never placed anything hot on it. Always used trivets and chargers. I called Tate and they said I should take better care of my furniture. Also the chairs wobble and I have to tighten them up all the time. I will never purchase from them. This was my 4th big purchase from there and the first time I was treated like an idiot but it was my last purchase from them. I spent over $600 for a table that I have to keep covered up because it looks horrible now after a few years.

Not at all pleased with the customer service here. When attempting to negotiate prices the owner gets involved and it doesn't take him long to walk away from our conversation. They act as our business isn't appreciated. Won't be back

Almost all my furniture in my house came from Tate Furniture. I've been dealing with the Tate Family for over 20 years. They are a great family owned business. I recommend them to anyone that is looking for Furniture.

We went to many furniture stores in the greater Columbus/Phenix City area and were very pleased with the breadth of selection and prices at Tate. It's a very large showroom and my wife and I felt their prices were reasonable. They were also willing to work with us when we bought several pieces. Shipping was free to Columbus and they were careful when they brought the pieces in and set them up in our home. Ray and Charlie were good to deal with. Will go back when we need new pieces.

Just bought mattress, box springs, a couch and a loveseat from Tate Furniture to go in our new apartment. They have the biggest selection and it's very high quality. I can't believe I forgot the lady's name that helped us, but she was awesome! She has blonde hair and a nice tan! Super nice, very helpful and not at all pushy. We will be going back in the next few weeks to purchase our dining room set. Buying furniture anywhere else is just a waste of money. Tate has everything, and they will even beat prices of competitors if you find the item you want cheaper somewhere else. Love this store.

Tate's furniture has such a wonderful selection of Beautiful furniture that we have always Shopped around BUT we always come back to Tate's!! Best prices and Superior Customer service will keep my family coming back for future purchases.

Thank goodness for Tate Furniture! We were extremely upset and frustrated looking for a sofa in the Columbus area but we made the decision to try Tates and we could not be more happy about it. Ray saved the day for us and everyone in the store was more than happy to help us and answer our questions. They matched a competitors price and we had our piece within 24 hours of purchasing. I can not say enough good things about this store. Thank you so much!

Bought a bedroom set, dining set, recliner sofa. Everything fine except the recliner sofa doesn't work on one side. We have been unable to get any satisfaction on fixing the problem. They said if we bring it back, they will look at it and offer a swap. We can't move a sofa, so we would have to pay to move it back and forth. They seem to be very unwilling to even talk about the problem and gave us some story about how some sofas need more effort to make the recliner work. I'm 300lbs and I can barely get it to work. Be very careful about what you buy. Even better, go somewhere they will back up their products.

I was looking to get a sectional here I found the same one online for about 800 dollars cheaper I talked to the owner and he refused to price match. I even got to the point where I just wanted him to take another 100 off the sectional but he refused and walked away. I don't recommend this place at all you can easily find a better deal in the phenix/columbus area.

I purchased a bedroom set from Tate Furniture in 2012. Three years later my pillow top," top," of the line mattress has a tear/split on it. I called Tate Furniture and spoke with two people and was told the warranty I paid for "Did not," cover tear/split. The warranty only covers defects. Why do a customer have to pay for defects? That should be the manufacturer's responsibility. I have a pillow top mattress I bought in 2001 when I was stationed in Ft. Hood, TX and to date "No tear/split," and it has been moved around many, many times. A very good learning experience for me. Do not shop Tate Furniture because they "Do not," give good customer service and make sure I do not get charged with a warranty for defect.

Billy Tate is a terrible business owner. Do yourself a favor and do not shop at Tate Furniture. My father purchased a plether recliner from there in September 2014. It is cracking and buckling on the headrest. Billy Tate sends two guys out after two weeks from the time they were called about it , and the guy takes pics in his iPhone. Billy Tate called me to tell me that the recliner looked like an old one , it was dirty and told me that he don't know how it got damaged and he was not considering replacing it. My dad is 70 and the only one that sits in it. Billy Tate was very rude and made accusations that were ridiculous and I was appalled knowing that we had just purchased this nearly $400 recliner in September. His written goal is to treat each and every customer with respect and dignity. He FAILED to reach that goal and the part about best quality furniture! Number 5 on his contract reads "we do not issue refunds on merchandise. In the event that merchandise has a factory defect, we will inspect it and repair or replace it at our discretion ". My dad wasn't asking for a refund, just a good product and good business sense.
