I don’t normally visit this area, but this place had been on my radar so we made the trip just to come here and it didn’t disappoint. The food was amazing and the vibe was really charming. I even saved their restaurant playlist on Spotify (it’s linked on their website if you’re interested). It’s walk-in only, but that wasn’t an issue at all. They have a great system and we were seated really quickly. We went on a Sunday around noon. I got the Forth Pasta and my boyfriend got the Wafu Carbonara, and both were delicious. We’re already planning our next visit to try the breakfast menu. On the way out I grabbed a tea latte called the Leasleyville Fog. I’ve tried a lot of tea lattes, but nothing like this one. Everything here is so uniquely special, it’s hard to explain it so it’s important you go to experience it for yourself. Also a big thank you to the woman at the front desk who went out of her way give us a Cinnamon Moffle, it was so kind and went perfectly with my tea. Those thoughtful, kind gestures are what really make a place stand out and feel memorable. So thank you for making our experience so special 💗

Been wanting to come here for the longest time and was not surprised to see this place very busy on a Sunday morning. Really enjoyed the mochi waffles and fried chicken as well as the blueberry and ricotta toast. Would recommend getting something with their milk bread toast, it's very soft, fluffy and sweet. Would love to come back to try their potatoes and other pastas as we did notice other tables ordering them.

Tatsuro’s has been on my birthday wishlist for a long time, and I was so happy to finally celebrate my special day here! The restaurant has a beautiful Japanese-inspired atmosphere – minimalist yet nostalgic – the kind of place that immediately puts you in a good mood. What we ordered: 🍇 Blueberry & Ricotta (blueberry compote, house ricotta, yuzu) This dish was absolutely stunning to look at. The blueberries were incredibly fresh and naturally sweet, perfectly balanced with the creamy house ricotta and a hint of yuzu. It was the perfect combination of flavors and textures, light, refreshing, and addictive. Each bite made me wish it would never end, and I honestly felt sad taking the very last bite! 🍳 Sweet + Savoury (½ moffle, 2 sunny eggs, bacon, maple) Beautiful presentation once again. The sunny eggs were cooked perfectly with that gorgeous golden yolk. The moffle was crispy and delicious without being overly sweet or artificial-tasting. The bacon was slightly on the dry side, but overall the dish was still very enjoyable. Service & Atmosphere: The staff were polite and efficient, though I did feel a bit rushed at times, they were eager for us to place our order quickly and started clearing dishes shortly after we finished. It would have been nice to relax and enjoy the dining experience a little longer, especially since it was a special occasion. That said, Tatsuro’s is a unique and memorable spot, and the food was truly beautiful and thoughtfully crafted. I’m happy I finally got to visit on my birthday, and I would return to try more dishes!

A Leslieville Must-Visit for Shokupan Lovers Tatsuro has become my go-to spot for Japanese-inspired comfort food. Here is the breakdown of what to order: Creme Brulee French Toast: A standout. It’s essentially a bruleed bread pudding with a perfect crust. Not overly sweet, especially when paired with their seasonal fruits. Miso Brown Sugar Latte: If you like complex flavors, get this. The savory, salty notes of the miso cut through the richness of the breakfast perfectly. Teppanyaki Chicken Bun: A bit messy but worth it. The chicken is seared perfectly and the pickled cabbage adds a great crunch. The vibe is lively and the music is great (plenty of 70s and 80s hits). It can get loud when busy, but the staff is incredibly thoughtful—they even brought me extra napkins to protect my book while I ate! Highly recommend for a cozy breakfast or lunch. I can't wait to come back and try their pastas!!!

Very busy! So prepare to wait depending on the day, but worth it. Well priced as well! Overall really enjoyed everything that was ordered. All Day Breakfast- Typical breakfast plate but more Japanese ingredients- thick sliced milk break, Japanese sausage, potatoes are typical breakfast potatoes and scrambled eggs but they do their eggs well! Chicken Karage was good really crispy and wasn’t oily which is important. Curry bolognese is a winner very comforting.

Nice place. Got sat right away for Friday 1pm lunch. Still quite a few tables. Loud but you didn't have to shout to be heard by your lunch partner. Nice energy about the place. Service was very friendly but odd. My mother got her drink then I waited 5 min until I got my drink. I got my food then my mom had to wait for her food and we waited some more for our shared dish. I dont understand why the drinks didnt come together and the food didn't come together either. Strange to have your food sit there while your lunch partner has nothing. Food was okay. Had ebi sando - great crunch but not enough flavor for me. I needed to add more hot sauce. Mom had shokupan ricotta and blueberry with a side of bacon. She loved it. Said it was very light and didnt sit heavy. Bacon was cooked well, not brunt or extra crispy. Nice and salty. Shared potato salad. Not a fan of the dressing. Too sweet for me as I prefer a more savory potato salad. Potato texture was fantastic though. Nice and crunchy on the outside then soft in parts.

A new find in our most recent visit to Toronto, a Japanese-Italian breakfast-lunch-brunch restaurant. The menu was innovative and inventive. Everything we tried had that very Umami quality. Definitely try the Karaage Moffle which our daughters loved or the Chicken Cacciatore which I enjoyed. The flavors are familiar while at the same time unique and tasty. The portions are definitely on the larger size which allows for sharing. We came at 2pm which was perfect timing when the lunch crowds were finishing their meals and we didn’t have to wait long for a table. The restaurant will require a bit of travel from the downtown core but worth the effort and time. Add Tatsuro to your list of must visit on your next trip to Toronto.

I would come back just for the moffles! Loved how chewy and crispy it was. Wafu carbonara was not the flavor I was expecting but it was very tasty and the texture of the pasta was perfect! I wish the inside seats had better lighting as it was a bit dim.
