Gets busy. Very limited seating. Definitely a ton of tourists. Ordered tuna melt sandwich, could have had more tuna in my opinion. The latte was watered down and smothered with vanilla. The desserts were good but not so much the brownies.

On a rainy day, Tatte in the middle of a quiet residential area in Charlestown had such a cozy and charming vibe. The staff were incredibly friendly, and even offered us a sample of a drink they were still testing—it was so good I tried to order it, but they said it wasn’t officially available yet. We ordered the famous shakshuka and cheesecake, and both were absolutely fantastic—the cheese was rich and flavorful. We also tried a variety of drinks, and everything was truly satisfying. It was a wonderful first visit, and I’m already looking forward to going back.

The location is perfect for a bit of satiation after walking around Beacon Hill and for people watching. The blueberry cheesecake (recommended by the host) was not bad, but I wouldn’t define it as a cheesecake. The coffee walnut cake was nice and I would happily order again, it just needs to be a bit moist. The dark chocolate muffin was aptly sweet and pretty regular.

Google
The best place if you want to spend time in a cozy atmosphere and delicious food. Good choose of sandwiches, salads, breakfasts, coffee and bakery Thanks Tatte

Google
One of the best I visited here in the center of Boston. Delicious and inexpensive food, pastry and coffee, a lot of options. Great staff 🥇

Google
Everything was so delicious! Definitely adding to my must go places. If you like espresso and a good cappuccino definitely go here you will not be disappointed. I ordered the house latte and house breakfast today. Plus a couple delicious cookies to go!

Google
Coffee was really good, not too sweet. Baked goods were delicious, and I’m from the south so I know what a good biscuit is. We didn’t eat, but every time I passed a soup and sandwich I almost caved and got one. Wish we had a Tatte in Texas.

Google
Food was excellent! I had the fresh mozzarella sandwich and cheesecake dessert cup. Very busy, but we had good service. More dining area would be great.

Yelp
Tatte is always reliable for their good brunch food, caffeine drinks, and pastries. It's in a prime locations being on Charles Street with all the popular shops and restaurants. It is very busy, but it is smaller than the other locations. There are a few tables inside in addition to some outdoor dining tables. I came here on a Sunday afternoon to order some takeout. The croissant breakfast sandwich was soft and flaky and perfect with avocado and runny eggs. The salmon and avocado tartine had a nice kick of tartness and was delicious. I would order both of these dishes again! For drinks, the pistachio latte was decent, but it was only pistachio flavored. It would've been great if it came with pieces of pistachio. The matcha latte was average. Service was quick, but it still took about 10 minutes to get the food and drinks. Napkins and utensils were on the table and easily accessible.

Yelp
"Tatte" like "latte". Located in Beacon Hill, this is a great cafe with so many food options. They have plenty for lunch or a quick pastry and bevvie pick up. Their menu includes many Mediterranean items and spices. They had an orange upside down cake that was gorgeous and got my curiosity. Their teas are delicious. I got an avocado sandwich and tea for lunch and sat ate one of the longer tables. Everyone seemed to fall into conversation with each other on the freezing day when I found myself at Tatte. I met most of the people that came and went from my table during the 1+ hour I was there. I intended to read the book I'd just bought from the adorable Beacon Hill Bookstore and Cafe across the street, but the people at my table were so nice and interesting, I ended up chatting with them most of the time. The staff are very nice too. I couldn't find the water (strollers were in front of them), so one of the staff made his way around them and got me some water. So nice of him. Tatte is from the area, and they also have locations in Washington, DC. I want to try their other locations!

Yelp
Cute place with matter Mediterranean flavor. Which was a interesting concept for a coffee shop. TheTatte latte was really good with their homemade syrup that was a hit. I also had the fig lemon, mint soda, but that fell flat. I felt like it needed to be mixed more instead of everything floating at the bottom. I really love the cheese Boureka, but I wish they could heat them up lightly. Be prepared to wait, that's how good things come lol. It was a line out the door, but it went fast. You place the order grab a number if you eat in and you wait. they have vegetarian options, meat and pastries. This is a nice spin on the coffee and pastry shop than what I'm used to. But in a good way.

Yelp
As a tourist, I'd never experienced this cafe but I'd heard it was the best in Boston so I had to come check it out! It definitely didn't disappoint. The coffee was good, we tried the pistachio latte and the house latte and preferred pistachio. However, the star of the show was the food. We tried quite a few things; shakshouka, raspberry yogurt meringue cloud, cheesecake crumble cup, chocolate mousse cup, chocolate and caramel cup, raspberry tart, pistachio croissant, and passion fruit krembo. Everything was good but the standouts were the croissant, the krembo, and the mousse. They definitely stay busy so I advise coming here with patience, but trust me, it's so worth it. I'll be thinking about these pastries until hopefully I get to have them again!

Yelp
The bakery looks aesthetically pleasing and there are a lot of choices for baked goods. But the food and drinks were only ok. Paired with the price - definitely overhyped. We ordered a ginger date latte and an iced matcha latte. The ginger date latte was ok but matcha was bad. No matcha flavor with weird aftertaste. The pistachio layered tarts had no pistachio flavor and the shortbread crust was too thick and kinda dry

Yelp
One of my favorite bakeries in Boston. I've tried a multitude of their breakfast sandwiches and pastries and everything is always delectable. The coffee is also great. Don't skip out on their season coffees.

Yelp
I have one question... what has gone wrong at this Tatte? We've been to other locations across the U.S. that were absolutely delightful, but this one felt poorly managed from the start. The space was noticeably dirty--grimy floors, walls, and tables--and the food was sub-par at best. Overall, a pretty disappointing experience. If you're craving Tatte in Boston, I'd recommend skipping this location.

Yelp
We stopped in for brunch at Tatte Cafe. The place was packed at 11:30 A.M. on a Friday. We each got the House Breakfast Plate - eggs, bacon, potato hash browns, and sourdough bread. It was good. The location is convenient during the holidays as it is located just across the street from the Holiday Market at Snowport.

Yelp
Let me start by saying it was uncomfortably hot inside--I was sweating just waiting in line to order. Not the best first impression. I went with the iced pistachio latte, which was...fine. Nothing special, and honestly, I expected more. The pistachio bar, however, was a letdown--super dry and pretty bland. I definitely wish I'd ordered a different snack. The prices were okay, and the staff was friendly, but the overall experience didn't leave me wanting to come back. There are plenty of other spots I'd rather try next time. If they work on the atmosphere and step up the food quality, it could have potential, but for now, it's a pass for me.

Yelp
Had to try the famous tatte coffee while on my Boston trip. I will start by saying customer service is not their forte, however I tasted the tatte house latte and it was a nice blend between the honey and coffee. I also tried the pistachio croissant and it was tasty. The place was packed for 12:00pm on a Thursday. The seating is limited, but the place is bright with a big menu.

Yelp
Nice spot to grab some breakfast and some pasties. I liked their breakfast sandwiches, pretty filling.

Yelp
What a hidden gem in Harvard. Was a go to for my daughter during her summer courses. Breakfast all day and very hearty. Coffee and juices are a must. Plenty of seating.
google avatar

Ploy N.

Yelp
A famous chain. This location was packed on a random weekday...Staffs were kinda moody and not very helpful, unfortunately. The Pistachio and Cherry Tart was delicious though. Their breakfast items were also decent. They do have a big spread of bakeries and food options so you'll be sure to find something you like. The Cortado was nice and strong as well.
google avatar

Yelp
I love everything about this bakery/cafe. Drinks, amazing. Breads, amazing. This location seems to be smaller than the others. The line moved quickly!

Yelp
I get the hype - my latte was just what I needed after a travel day, and my kouign amann was super light and airy! I have a pretty high bar for coffee and was surprised this was one of the better spots I've been to. My kouign amann was just lightly sweet, which was perfect and what I was hoping for. Decent amount of seating and super nice environment, from the natural lighting to the friendly staff. Recommend!

Yelp
I noticed a Tatte Bakery almost everywhere I went during my Boston trip, and the cafe was always busy. The interior aesthetics were beautiful, and the staff were very nice What I ordered: Shakshuka: It was the first thing on the menu. It was good, but I might try something different next time Brownie: Super fudgy and decadent! I even saved half to enjoy later. It definitely satisfied my sweet tooth Sesame latte: So good! It was something new for me, but it really worked

Sarah D.

Yelp
Potato, Mushroom & Bacon Shakshuka - Kouign-Amman - Crispy and light caramelization, fluffy on the inside. Almond Croissant - My personal favorite. Great nuttiness and crunch from the almond slivers and rich almond flavor from the filling. Halva Brownie - Unique halva topping which might not be for everyone, but personally loved the slight bitterness with the sweet brownie. Plain Brownie - Standard brownie, with a nice chew and rich fudginess. Halva Latte - A bit too much bitterness with little sweetness to balance it out.

Yelp
Great bakery to stop and grab a treat! There are many locations around Boston which makes it nice. The service is super quick and friendly here. You can take it to go or sit in their seating area. I got the coconut raspberry tart and a Jerusalem bagel. The coconut raspberry tart was soooo good! So much coconut and the tart shell was so crispy and buttery. My fave will always be the Jerusalem bagel! I love how light and crispy it is. Perfect on the go snack.

Yelp
Great breakfast selection - a bit pricey but fresh and delicious. The food comes out quickly
google avatar

Kevin E.

Yelp
This place was very cute and friendly. The coffee was very nice and affordably priced. The pastry items looked very appealing and appetizing, but did not taste very good. Some of them were hard and dry. I would come here only for the coffee.
google avatar

Natalia O.

Yelp
I've come here way too often on my five day trip but that's because this place is awesome. They have really great coffee, delicious, pastries, and really savory and filling plates like omelettes and sandwiches. They're located at what seems to be every corner so they're easily accessible and offer a relaxing, ambience and mood, especially in the cold winter
google avatar

Yelp
I always go to Tatte Bakery & Cafe for breakfast whenever I'm in Boston. This time I went to the Back Bay location. Amazing healthy and oganic food options, pastries and specialty coffees and teas. Service is good in a packed, cold and breezy morning, everybody inside the counter were helping guests at the line even before their turn at the ordertaker at the counter. I had the House Breakfast Plate which consists of 2 eggs any way, applewood smoked bacon, potato fritters with tomato jam and mint parmesan. This plate was a perfect meal to start my busy day around Boston. Tatte Bakery & Cafe have a cozy, casual and relaxing ambiance though the place is always packed with people from all walks of life as this is a popular cafe, and gets really busy too when its cold outside. They have an outside dining patio as well but not a good idea in a 40 degree morning. Food and coffee will definitely go cold quickly. Overall, a great dining experience and place for a quick bite, start your day, grab a coffee or just hang out. Check it out!

Yelp
We stopped in just to grab a cold drink on a scorching hot day. I got the Matcha rhubarb lemonade, it was very good! We also tried these little meringue cookies. Not our fav, not terrible. Really cute place, it was packed in there, not too many open seats. I will say though that the service is not friendly at all.

Yelp
This was our first time visiting Tatte Bakery.....we came across this bakery while exploring the neighborhood, and since we had heard of Tatte Bakery, we thought we'd give it a try to see what the fuss was all about. Specifically about this location, the staff here didn't seem too friendly, and the young lady who attended to us just seemed kind of moody, or perhaps it was because there was some 20 minutes before closing time and everyone just wanted to close up shop and go home asap. Whatever it was, we didn't feel very welcomed and were rushed to place our order. Furthermore, after we did place our order, we sat at the window bar counter to nibble on our desserts, and then one of the staff started cleaning up and sweeping the floor while we were still sitting there.....not a very good first impression. As for what we ordered.....a freshly baked (so we were told) Plain Chocolate Brownie and a Sour Cherries Almond Scone. The brownie texture was so smooth, had a nice amount of sweetness, and oh so decadently delicious! It was, however, a bit too sweet for my personal taste, but I can definitely see and taste how this would be a very popular dessert among chocolate brownie lovers. The scone, on the other hand, was not quite to my liking. The flavors were not bad, not too sweet at all, but just tasted hard and dry. If I were to ever eat a scone like this again, I would want to dunk it into my my hot milk tea, then perhaps I would enjoy it more. I wish I could have given this place a better review, but overall, the experience didn't deserve it. On a separate note, we did go try a Tatte Bakery elsewhere a couple of days later, and there we silky had a much better experience.

Yelp
Best coffee, amazing sweet treats! Each time we've been (especially Beacon Hill location) it is packed, like crazy packed. But a great coffee, tea or pastry place, very efficient staff and we will return!
google avatar

Peg P.

Yelp
So cozy you'll think you're in a Hallmark movie. This location especially does not feel like a chain. Very solid cappuccino, and the chai is pretty good. Not too sweet. The lemon poppyseed cake is addictive. Plan for that. You'll be back. Count yourself lucky if you find a seat. Ever. But if you do, it'll be hard to leave because it's so darn cozy. Wear your niftiest preppy print woolens and just wait for your leading man/lady to show up for your meet cute.

Yelp
Got so many recommendations to try Tatte while in Boston! We stopped by their beacon hill location and it was PACKED! It's definitely the place to be. I got the Turkey BLAT and subbed their challah bread! It was SO good and tasted so fresh. I also got a berry cheesecake cup that was delicious. So soft and not too sweet. I adored this place.
google avatar

Luke G.

Yelp
Great service. They went out of the way to find jam for the toast. Food was super fresh and tasty. Very clean on the inside.
google avatar

Yelp
I really enjoyed my morning spent at Tatte. I had arrived in Boston the night prior and this was my first stop the next morning. It is in the perfect location to explore the beacon hill area after some breakfast and coffee. You order at the counter, luckily I looked at the menu beforehand so I knew what I wanted because was no food menu besides a small laminated one at the register. I found a seat and good my breakfast sandwich and coffee quickly. My sandwich was great- egg, cheese, and bacon on fresh sourdough bread. I got a hot much, which was good too! The service was great. They got through the line quickly and the food/ drinks came out fast. The place is a bit small, but gives off a cozy atmosphere. There weren't many spots open to sit at is the only downside of the small space.

Yelp
First time going to Tatte in the city and we placed our brunch order with so much ease. Our food also came in a good timely manner. Everyone was very friendly and our food was definitely worth the price. Great portion sizes.
google avatar

Debby L.

Yelp
My friend brought me Tatte cookies to try and they were so yummy! I had the chocolate chip cookie which was buttery with plenty of chocolate. Instead of big chunks of chocolate, they were more flattened baked chocolate inside the cookie. It wasn't too crunchy or soft but in-between. The edges were slightly crunchy. They were really good!
google avatar

Grace C.

Yelp
Light and airy atmosphere with high quality baked goods and coffee. It was a hot day so I couldn't bring myself to have an espresso or other warmed drink; the iced coffee was perfectly refreshing and mild. I was worried it might be sour, as some of the third wave coffee shops seem to prefer these days but it was well balanced. Paired it with a pistachio cherry tart that could easily be shared with someone (or being greedy, I saved half for later). The crumbs indicated how much delicious butter was used and it was also balanced and not overly sweet. I didn't have the service issues other folks experienced; the staff was helpful and friendly.
google avatar

Mae M.

Yelp
This place is super cute and close to the hotel I was staying at for my layover but I was super let down! I ordered the pistachio latte that just tasted like milk and pistachio chunks in it. Yuck! I hate when my lattes are super weak like that. I ordered the avocado toast which was SO SAD. There was barely any radish or avocado as it was thinly spread onto the stale ass bread. I guess it was nice there was a ton of arugula because I basically ate it like a salad with the poached egg and lemon slice. The only thing that was actually somewhat good was the cavatelli with summer vegetables. That had great flavor and veggies were fresh. I will not be coming back here and I feel like there are better and cheaper options in the area. Literally one star for the cavatelli.

Yelp
We loooooved stopping at Tatte before starting our trek around Boston. The croissant sandwich for breakfast was so good we ate it a second time. The line moves fast, so don't be deterred. Staff is friendly. There's an awkward area where people stand to wait for coffee which happens to be near the bathrooms so people are constantly in each other's way.
google avatar

Theo C.

Yelp
stopped at this place while trekking across boston in the cold. the atmosphere is good, was a little crowded but there's plenty of seating options. my cortado gets 2/5 stars, bland espresso and the milk was a little oversteamed and thus burnt away all the sweetness. lemon loaf was way too dense. our little raspberry cakes were good tho. nothing special in my opinion
google avatar

Yuri J.

Yelp
A cute location in Beacon Hill , limited seating indoors (with a few chairs outside) so would rec more for a grab and go! It's a smaller Tatte location compared to the other ones in Boston, but perfect for when you want a coffee or pastry while exploring the area.

Mona A.

Yelp
TERRIBLE!!! Never order from them! We ordered several things for Mother's Day for a fairly large crowd. They delivered half of the items and put a note to say that they ran out of the others! They should have called so that we can order something else so we ended up having to share! AWFUL!!

Yelp
Classic Boston bakery offering many different pastries and drinks. I got a Lemon Raspberry Pavlova ($7.50), which was like a sweet meringue cookie / mini cake with raspberries and lemon zest on top. It was a bit sugary but not too much. It was firm yet light and easy to bite into. The raspberries and lemon zest added some nice fruity sweetness. While it certainly wasn't cheap, the cost was pretty expected for a nice bakery like this. I also got a pear juice ($6), which was freshly squeezed despite coming in a sealed bottle. I could taste that it was just pure pear juice, which was refreshing, delicious, and a nice change from more typical fruit juices. $6 was a bit pricey for this amount of juice though. The bakery itself is decently sized, although can get quite busy during the day. There are some tables but they can fill up quickly given the number of customers. The environment is pretty nice with a nice bakery kind of vibe. Overall, if you are looking for a quality snack or coffee drink in Boston, I would recommend you stop by Tatte.
google avatar

Lizzie Y.

Yelp
Today was my first time trying Tatte! I kind of feel like I'm late to the party with there being one at every corner of Boston now but I was eager to visit because the pictures of their shakshuka made my mouth water. The line to wait to order was around 10 minutes today. It was incredibly packed but I still was able to manage to get a seat. The shakshuka was as good as I thought it would be. It had great flavor and included two runny eggs with 3 pieces of sourdough bread! Only thing I wish it had was meatballs & jalapeños to add a little extra oomph but still good.
google avatar

Shwe N.

Yelp
there are a handful of tatte bakery and cafes around boston but i was near the location at harvard! pretty fast to order to receive my iced vanilla latte (basic drink to gauge how good a place can be lol) and it was saur busy and loud and warm inside with everyone talking and studying!

Luis J M.

Yelp
Lia and Valentina were both so nice and friendly. The food and the service were excellent. Recommend to anybody looking for a yummy, quick bite to eat.
google avatar

Yelp
First time to Boston and how lucky was I to stumble into Tatte on my first morning, and each of the next 5 mornings. I cannot imagine how this place could be rated less than 5 stars, beautiful pastries (I recommend the pistachio cherry tart) and their lattes are excellent (I recommend the house or the pistachio). Service was fast even on a busy Saturday morning, the staff were all sweet, helpful, and yes even while being swamped with a line out the door. I cannot say enough good things about this place and will return.
google avatar

Alexandra C.

Yelp
So crowded and not sure what is actually really good here? Our croissants and matcha were average at best.
google avatar

Wendy D.

Yelp
Great menu with lots of diverse savory and sweet options. Pleasant environment and quick service! Clean restrooms.

Lisa C.

Yelp
Second time at the Assembly location, both times I have asked for light ice, both times I received an iced coffee half empty. So expensive, not worth it, so many other places you can get more for less.
google avatar

Amanda V.

Yelp
My husband and I were looking for a cozy place to get some fresh food, and Tatte didn't disappoint! We ordered an avocado tartine and scrambled egg plate. I was a little limited with menu choices since I cannot have poached egg. Nevertheless, as boring as a scrambled egg plate sounded, j was pleasantly surprised: the eggs were fluffy, the bread was thick and filling, and the complimentary sautéed spinach was a nice serving of iron. My husband was also very happy with his avocado tartine. We weren't sure I'd the avocado was going to be ripe, but it was! To top everything off, food was presented beautifully, colorfully, and all elements tasted fresh! Next time I will have to try one of the beautiful desserts. Oh, and service was friendly and helpful.

Yelp
The is such a cute little bakery/coffee shop. Its modern touch is nice. The pastries were lovely. A nice treat to start the day. The people were friendly and patient. This place was supper busy and we had to wait but lucked up and got a table quickly.
google avatar

Helena Q.

Yelp
The little patio is nice and cute! It is super busy, but the wait wasn't too bad. I'm still a bit sad that their hot chocolate recipe changed like a decade ago, so it's now powder based, but I do still like the flavor of the hot chocolate. It's not too sweet, though it's not quite as chocolatey as it used to be. The shakshuka is little too sour and one note, but the bread was good and it's a satisfying and warm dish. It's a reliable cafe if you're in the area!
